New multiport should be switching cleanly now.  Please let me know if you see any disconnects that are not the result of a recent switch.

i am gettin stratum connection interrupted messages in cgminer.

what will the future server be for multiport?

what shall i use for multiport?
i am living in the eu Wink

Where exactly are you connecting to?  Don't try to use 7777 on the EU server yet, it's only for direct mining.  I haven't set up the multiport yet.

I just got a call from a telemarketer trying to sell me swag for my "business", which gave me an idea..

Announcing the Multipool Cafepress store!  LMAO!

http://www.cafepress.com/multipool

Thanks but no. I have no use for a $18 water bottle or a $15 coffee cup.

Considering it takes about 5 days for me to make that in LTC.. just no thanks.

Be well.
T.

Yeah I know, I left the markup at the default (20%) and then I couldn't find where to lower it..  I'll go in there later when I have some time and delete everything and re-add with the lower markup.

pool1.us multiport is now open for beta testing.  Please let me know how things go.

stratum+tcp://pool1.us.multipool.in:7777

Thanks!

I pointed a few of my miners to the pool1.us.multipool.in on port 7777 to help you test.
Currently the normal multiport is on FTC but my miners on the BETA multiport are showing in my stats mining MNC.
I'm not complaining, just letting you know so you can improve Smiley I know it's beta stage.

Keep up the good work. Fantastic to see you're also adding a European server.

Yeah, I'm still working out some kinks on the new multiport..  (specifically the code that decides when to switch)  But one nice thing is when everything works properly the switch is even more seamless than the current port.

I can't imagine that ASIC blades wouldn't natively support stratum, since that's what stratum was created for.  But I guess it's possible.

But why do you still have 8332 in the second screenshot?

EU pools are up for testing (same ports as US pools)

No multiport yet.

are payouts for the coin-switching port in each coin it switches to? Unless it is selling the coins right after making them I don't see the point. Example- if FTC is really profitable so it is mined for a day then its value crashes and it switches to LTC. Now I have a bunch of worthless coin and have to wait for it to go back up to how much it was worth when it was being mined to sell. Unless the payout for mining on the coin-switching port is in one currency I don't see how this would work.

There is always a risk that a coin can crash, but generally, coin values are fairly stable day to day.  Most of them are certainly stable enough that you can withdraw and cash in your coins or trade them for your currency of choice before the price changes too much.

The largest driving factor for profitability is coin difficulty, which can be quite extreme on some coins.  For example, FTC difficulty just dropped 41%.  FTC has been trading at .0009-.001  for over a week now, so when the difficulty dropped, the profitability went over LTC's.

In the future I may allow auto-conversion of payouts to a particular coin, but right now if you don't want a coin your best bet is to send it directly to an exchange with auto payout and either go in manually and sell it each day or write a bot to do it.  (In fact, if someone were to write an auto-sell bot and share it with the Multipool users, well I think that might even be worthy of Hero membership.)

ok i changed to to poo1.us

Sorry if I missed that at another point, but what is the new server for? "balanced load"? Is it located at the same country? Should it improve the supply of work for the miners? I didnīt get this yet.

The old server is overloaded.  That's why you sometimes see stratum disconnects.  The new port is load balanced between two larger servers.  I will eventually turn off the old server so you should move over ASAP.

Manual payout of FTC isn't working for me (other coins worked fine). I added an auto-threshold of 1 to see if the cron job will deliver.

Just checked and same problem here... it may be because the hot wallet is empty.

Correct, I just sent some FTC over.  I've been keeping the hot wallets lean since we got ripped off the other night.  You should be able to withdraw soon.

Can't connect to nvc pool again  Huh

The pool is up, can you let me know what error you are getting?

Using two different miners: pooler cpuminer error says  "stratrum_subscribe timed out" and stratum_proxy.exe that I'm using can't seem to subscribe for mining jobs.

Can you try pointing to pool1.us and let me know what happens?

Currently connected and running fine. Should I connect to this from here on out?

Please do and let me know how things go.

Hi flound1129, so far on the nvc port everything is well. The multiport switched over to nvc and my miners still up and running good.

But I noticed the stats page for nvc blocks 30244, 30246, 30446 and 30464 reports nothing (blank). Maybe a bug there.

Good spot, I've gone in and rerun scoring on those blocks.

Hm, where'd the server go? Adding new coins to multiport? Wink

I don't need to bring the server down for that..  intentionally...  Smiley

with this recent influx of added coins and I'm presuming future coins if it means more profit I was wondering if you were going to add a feature where we can pick which coins to mine?

It's in the works.

I can't find the list of different coins supported in multiport mode.

Currently all of the scrypt coins other than PXC, ARG and LKY are on the multiport.

That means LTC, FTC, MNC, DGC, WDC, NVC

Edit: added this information to the multiport stats page.
1576  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MultiCoin][Stratum+GW] multipool.in - Always mine the most profitable coin on: July 07, 2013, 10:58:35 PM
All new coin blocks that have been found so far have been scored.

I initially set confirms to 520 for all 3 so I could work out any issues before payouts happened and things got messy.

I have reduce LKY confirmations to 90 which appears to be the correct number for the coin, and ARG to 40.  I couldn't find that info anywhere.

PXC is still at 520, however, until the block we found matures.

Lucky coin added. I mined for 3.5 hours and found a block for pool yet no unconfirmed balance or confirmed balance payouts? My shares per round was at 110K but NO PAYOUT?

That's why we call it beta bro.  Don't worry, the blocks that were found will be paid out.  I was up until 4 am last night working on the pool and had some family business to take care of today.

Flound,
Maybe you can stop adding new coins of the minute to the pool and just keep what works maintained. I do appreciate what you have done and do although I cannot understand the coin hopping so much. Seems to go against what the network is supposed to be doing but that's just my opinion (salt grain). Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should or have to.

I'm not sure yet what the whole time payout thing is vs previous PPLNS scheme but it seems like you are trying to get the payout equalized(fair?) for those that are coin hopping all day vs those that are dedicated to one coin mining? I would appreciate a little more explanation if you can please as to how this is better now?

Thanks!
T.

Hi Torn,

The time payout is still a PPLNS, it's just based on time rather than a specific share number.

I'm doing this to keep things fair to both the dedicated coin miners and the multiport miners.  I don't think that the multiport miners should keep getting paid for shares that they submitted hours and hours after they hopped off a coin, when the people mining that coin directly find another block.  Likewise, I think that if someone mines for 6 hours, they should be expecting some kind of payout if a block is found in the next 24 hours and not get completely shafted and have their shares fall out of the Last N because the multiport switched to that pool and quadrupled the hashrate.

Likewise, the multiport miners should not have to wait an inordinate amount of time to start receiving a decent payout once they switch to a new coin.

I know it's not a perfect system and I will probably switch to something more fair like DGM, once I have investigated the alternatives and implemented an algorithm.

As far as the adding new coins: people want them, they're highly profitable, at times, and this pool is all about maximizing profitability by hopping to the coin that has the highest profitability.  Coin hopping is going to happen whether Multipool exists or not.  There are already client-side applications built to do the same thing.  I just make it easier for people.  Don't hate the player, hate the game.
