1561  Economy / Economics / Re: Big Reasons Why Many Families Are Feeling Extreme Financial Stress on: April 20, 2017, 07:57:34 AM
it's strange that they have so high inflation when the inflation reported is not increasing in comparison with the previous years

inflation currently it's at its lowest level for now in 2017, this is not true for all country, turkey have the highest it seems

it must be said if that price increase is due to the USD losing its purchase power, or those are really price that were incresed by vendors of those products

Food price inflation is due to water scarcity correlated with drought, as far as I know. When the price of water increases, it affects everything. Food price hikes aren't due to currency inflation. Although inflation and living expenses have grown at a faster pace than wages, which should be very concerning, yet somehow the media never reports on it anymore even though they did report on it back around 2008.

So yeah, climate change is probably the biggest factor for food price hikes. Climate change is caused by 80% of the world's natural forests being harvested. Trees store (sequester) carbon. Forests act as giant carbon emission sucking machines. The leaves of plants and trees also evaporate water which causes rain. Cutting down forests leads to less evaporated water, leading to drought and rainfall decrease.

There is scientific info relating to deforestation in australia and brazil leading to drought there. The harvesting of forests is also linked to decrease ability to store and contain carbon, which leads to higher average yearly temperatures.

good to hear about this, i didn't know the impact of cutting down the forest was so heavy on the ambient, i was expecting them to replace the trees with some that can grow much faster and do not require babysitting for many years

apparently they are still doing that heavy deforestation on amazon forest, i thought the amazon forest was protected already and was not possibile for anyone to keep cutting down the trees

if all this is connected. could be that they are cutting down all thoe trees on purpose just to force people to spend more of their money? or just another conspiracy....
1562  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is possible to mine a specific transaction? on: April 20, 2017, 05:57:40 AM
What about altcoin? I mean, if I know the transaction ID and other stuff, can I mine only that transaction?

you don't mine transaction, you include them in the block you find, but you need a considerable hashpower to do that, with altcoin that have a small hash is surely more feasible to do it in solo

i see that your nick is centurion, a presume you want to do this on the altcoin called centurion x11, you can try to do it with a baikal x11 asic which has enough hash to take on the chain
1563  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I have 0.5 BTC how to make money in Investment. on: April 20, 2017, 05:55:31 AM
don't invest in gambling if you want to have a good revenue ut of those bitcoin don't go witht hat route, choose soem alt that are cheap and buy many of them, one of them will surely go very high and give you a decent return

another thing is that with 0.5 you can buy two-3 gpu and start generating 0.15 btc a month, which would roi in 3 months only
1564  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks have bought the Core Team on: April 20, 2017, 05:52:26 AM
buying core team will not stop bitcoin either, core team is just there for support, isn't dictating the fate of bitcoin which is based on consensus for your information

and banks last tiem i checked were creating their own version of the blockchain, but centralized, i don't think they will give a damn about bitcoin anymore

i also don't like the centralization hub of LN, but currently there are no other better solution than segwit to scale, and i'm sure we can't wait forever to find a better one
1565  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why I Am Still Not Voting for Segwit? on: April 20, 2017, 05:48:23 AM
i can see why many are disagreeing with SegWit on bitcoin (less than 70% of bitcoin hashrate) and what he says but in my opinion what he did in Litecoin is completely unacceptable because more than 80% of the existing litecoin hashrate of that time accepted SegWit activation on litecoin and then out of nowhere new hashrate was redirected to litecoin to crush the activation and change the balance.

- currently at 71%

The solution for this, will be to implement SegWit on more Alt coins to split the instigators hashing power even more. Some big pools will do anything in their power to stop SegWit, because they know what will happen. If SegWit is activated on a Alt coin and it proves to be successful, many people will start to support it and these pools know that.

BTC Core should push for activation on multiple Alt coins that are compatible with it and not just stop with LiteCoin and Bitcoin.

nobody cares about SegWit on a random altcoin that nobody uses apart from trading them.
litecoin is different, because 1. it is exact copy of bitcoin with little change 2. it is old and it is being used.

and FYI SegWit is on some other altcoins, a couple of them have even activated SegWit.
if you are interested, these coins are:
- Groestlcoin
- Viacoin https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1840789.0
- SysCoin https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1466445.0
- a couple more that are signalling or considering that i forgot!

is it? where? i don't remember litecoin being used as a currency like bitcoin, it's the same shitty coin as before, equal to the other alt that are activating segwit, for instance vertcoin is also on track with segwith, and vertcoin is another big coin

people are just blindly attached to litecoin that's why they think it deserve more attention even now wiht segwit, which is only to increase the hype and do a random pump

What is required to implement segwit on altcoin?

signaling for a whole period of the diff retarget if i'm not mistaken, just reaching the threshold % activation won't cut it
1566  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Suprnova adding Chaincoin on: April 20, 2017, 05:30:44 AM
960 block per day, block reward 6 coins value 2200 = shitty emission
1567  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: April 19, 2017, 05:45:33 PM
what diff retarget is spreadcoin using? i see that some retard with 10-20 rigs is doing pool hopping, to try to catch more blocks

I don't want to sound mean in anyway but after the snapshot is taken for Helium, spreadcoin will be 1000 sats the day after... possibly lower... It's sad really because I have loved spreadcoin for soo long, it was the very first coin I found when I got into crypto and the very first coin I started mining...

I saw no real technicals of whatever this helium business is, and it said something about a "swap" taking place in March, but that has since passed and it doesn't even sound like a swap since you would keep both working coins. It sounds more like a "dividend" of sorts for spread holders.

Not sure how that project will go, but it sounds like if they do well, SPR benefits too. SPR is established, working, and has consistent development. HLM is talking about patents and stuff that can take a lot of time. Once it launches or even just decides on a mining algo, etc...then maybe your comment could be valid. For now, let's just all benefit from collaboration and leave the FUD to other sh*tcoin threads here.

The Halium ann was started on march 1st... look when the price of spreadcoin started going through the roof... march 2nd... I have been mining spreadcoin for over a year and a half and have never seen it above $.07 a coin... I don't know what kind of "FUD" you are talking about but it's not a dividend in anyway, Helium is going to be its own 100% separate coin, so once people get their equal amount of Helium from the spreadcoin that they own they are going to dump their spreadcoin, I am never going to sell my spreadcoin personally but I guarantee others are going to do so because a lot of people are buying spreadcoin and sending the price through the roof because they know that Helium is going to be worth a lot down the road and they want to get in on Helium early...

well you are wrong, spreadcoin was traded for nearly 70k satoshi in 2015, the fact that was not worth much like it is now, is because bitcoin had a shitty value, but that's is another thing, people need to look at the value in bitcoin not in dollars

current spreadcoin value in bitcoin is pretty low compared to the all time high, i see potential for 100k satoshi

anyone got those better faster and free to use to download miners, without fees,?

https://github.com/djm34/ccminer-msvc2015/releases

isn't that only 16 mega per 1070?
1569  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum solo mininig on: April 19, 2017, 12:35:53 PM
i would try with 200 giga not less, 2gh is too low, only one block per day
1570  Economy / Economics / Re: Design The Perfect Bank on: April 19, 2017, 06:47:42 AM
what would you guys consider the perfect bank.

Bitcoin.

i agree but i would add, the perfect bank should be "fixed bitcoin" with proper scaling solution, and not fee that cost more than expensive shitty paypal

add also something to make bitcoin look more user friendly, and less tech savy, a new gui interface for the newbie masses that want to use it, maybe like multi bit but better, with interchangeable wallet format with Core(i mean you can use the same wallet.dat from core)
1571  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will get half million dollars prices by 2030 : Blockchain.info CEO on: April 19, 2017, 06:37:28 AM
As much as I would love to see the price of Bitcoin reach a half a million dollars, I just never think that is going to happen. But maybe Bitcoin will surprise me and I will get rich through it.

one must understand that something like this will never happen over night, if this will happen will take several weeks months of slowly pump at a very high volume

therefore many like you who will hope to sell their coin at that value, will sell them long before that, and that's why will happen, you will only help reaching that value, like many other

the possibility for at least $100k in value are there, bitcoin have a ridiculous market now, this set the potential for a big growth, it's onyl up to the individual to accept and move on bitcoin

1573  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: if someday the network internet totally dead . on: April 19, 2017, 05:53:26 AM
you can always use cash, and plastic money, i wonder what would happen if btc becomes main currency, will it wipe out real curency or at least plastic bank cards ?

it would, or at least the some country would not produced them anymore, think about the enormous amount of money saved, to produce stupid debit/credit card, and all the people that work for them

bitcoin could really make them save a lot, therefore all the country that in the future decide to move on, on bitcoin, will be richer, the money would also be exchanged directly via bitcoin without the need to convert to the local currency
1574  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jihan blocks segwit on LTC: price crashes on: April 19, 2017, 05:49:02 AM
even if segwit was the most amazing scaling solution in the world, it wont help litecoin that much right now since litecoin barely has any merchants.  it was just a p&d.

not to mention that litecoin currently do not need segwit, unless segwit add something other than capacity, because litecoin have a 2.5 minutes block time, apparently many don't even know that this alone mean 4 x more transaction

even if segwit was the most amazing scaling solution in the world, it wont help litecoin that much right now since litecoin barely has any merchants.  it was just a p&d.

I think Litecoiners themselves would be the first to admit they won't have a capacity problem for a very long time, if ever. It would shine a light on them and attract more quality developers though.

It would do more than that. All of the various side chain devs could look to litecoin instead of bitcoin. Litecoin could pass over bitcoin in short order if that happened. How would you like LN to go with litecoin instead?

i really doubt that, segwit is not that useful for litecoin, it's just about hype and maybe helping bitcoin adopting it, litecoin will not go any where near dreaming to suprass bitcoin ever
1575  Economy / Speculation / Re: 21 BTC = inflation-adjusted $millionaire in 12 years on: April 19, 2017, 05:40:30 AM
you don't need 12 years in 4 more years we are already near 19M mined, and in another 4 years you are there around 20M, at that point all the bitcoin dumped would be not from miners anymore

there should be already a very strong buy supoort, because if not, we have a problem, i would go ahead and think that the value will get a zero added for each new halving, $10k in 2020 and $100k in 2024

after that will stabilize between $100k and above, this if everything go right
1576  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mining question on: April 18, 2017, 09:26:17 AM
i'm not doing any solo with that hash but according to the calculator around one week with 4 peta and two weeks with 2 peta

this one week and two weeks with bad luck can be easily extended to 1 month or more, better to solo only if you can find a block per day, to reduce variance, which require a bit less than 30 peta

The owner of http://solo.ckpool.org SAID:

Code:
[09:41] <serje> can anyone calculate the chances to fin a block in 6 hours with 4PH solo mining?
[09:41] <serje> find*
[09:42] <conman> one in 26
[09:44] <serje> would you pay 0.75BTC for this chance?
[09:44] <conman> me? only you can know what risks you're willing to take; no point asking me
[09:45] <conman> on average that hashrate over 6 hours would only earn 0.48 btc
[09:45] <serje> I know ... but I need a second opinion
[09:45] <conman> it's my pool; I'll always say yes :)
[09:45] <conman> since I want everyone to mine here
[09:50] <serje> we slipt the costs 50-50 and also the profits?
[09:50] <conman> me? lol no
[09:50] <conman> find yourself another business partner
[09:50] <conman> you dont do business with your service provider

So if anyone is interested in this little experiment let me know!

we reduce the costs to 0.375 BTC each and we might get a block in 6 hours!

And yes we will rent this shit from a mining rig rental shit!

it's too risky, you are effectively gamble there, isn't just better to try dice game or any other way, like for example investing in small alt and wait for them to increase, one every 10 will go high without much doubt

try at least to find the last result about someone that did the same thing and see if they got a block in the end, by risking more value than the possible return
1577  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitfinex- bank blocked all their deposits on: April 18, 2017, 09:20:38 AM
well bitfinex was kinda screwed since the hack, but they promised a refund and they did it i remember so i was hoping for a good return like poloniex, but this decision certainly kill it for good

dunno why people still use it, there are much better alternative, if you are in euro Kraken is the best and was never hacked, otherwise coinbase, i would avoid bitstamp, which was also hacked...

i think their solution is to change their bank like bitstamp did in the past, which was in ucrania i believe, if not mistaken
1578  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Unconfirmed transaction on: April 18, 2017, 09:14:24 AM
226 bytes in size is 36k satoshi now, you payed 84k satoshi or a 962 byte in size, which is obviously low, your correct fee was something like 150k at least

try to use the accelerator, or simply wait because with half the fee paid i usually get it accepted fast enough, it's a good compromise
1579  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is franky1 a shill? on: April 18, 2017, 09:12:40 AM
i understand that he could be payed to post, there are some user here that without signature earn a lot just by spamming other shit equal to what signature poster post

but is everyone which has a different idea from your a paid shill, now? i see that some members must find a reason to the fact that they are think they are always right and the other are wrong

by this logic everyone could be a paid shill here
1580  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Big Banks Profit challenged on: April 18, 2017, 09:07:37 AM
i don't know what you are talking about but big banks don't ever care about bitcoin, bitcoin is peanuts to them, they are more worried about the economy crysis that is affecting the world now

some of them will go bankrupt for sure, this is their primarily concern, and in fact it's risky to save money in bank now, bitcoin/gold looks far safer

even if bitcoin will gather enough attention i'm sure they will find a way to take profit from it, like creating bank for bitcoin only that give interest on your deposit etc....
