1221  Economy / Exchanges / Re: ‘Unprecedented’ Bitcoin Boom Sees Coinbase, Kraken Suffer Outages on: May 26, 2017, 05:46:13 AM
Kraken is always slow, it's a real shame, they should invest a bit on the server / bandwidht side. But today, it's a real joke, I had error over error loading pages and they took forever. I certainly hope they'll fix that.

not always for me just yesterday after the big increase, they do't increase the server just because for one slow down, they need to know for sure that their current capacity isn't enough

increasing servers isn't cheap, but we their huge volume(kraken is second in volume now) there should be not any issue to do it

Stay safe and use a cold wallet. It is a good time to keep security in mind and also maybe consider diversifying while prices are up.  Grin

this has nothing to do with the slow down of the exchange, we are not talking about security here, besides kraken was never hacked, i hold there something for fast selling and never add any trouble
1222  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Confirming the unconfirmed transactions. on: May 26, 2017, 05:40:36 AM
there is reply by fee option but you need to download a patch, i always thought you can use the "abandon transaction" which is build in core, but it's not possible if not in the mempool to use this, and zapwallettxes -rescan also probably won't be accepted by the network and create issues

my two transactions are still stuck there 92690b02403237b8681b7e9804fddb6e82f6ebcdde68cf355673f184449e6d81 17d5403074cda1822ee1622555824529a37454f471293de927569683b0b00a3a

well you paid less than 1/3 of recommended fee and that is why these are stuck. and as for RBF you need to contentiously rebroadcast the new transaction if you have a full node so that when the old transaction is dropped the new one is picked up in its place.

and if you have trouble with core and replace by fee see this:
Quote
Bitcoin Core

Bitcoin Core makes making Full RBF transactions very easy. Simply go to the transactions list, right click the transaction that is stuck, and choose the "Abandon Transaction" option.

If that option is greyed out, then you must restart Bitcoin Core with the -walletbroadcast=0 option and then you should be able to use "Abandon Transaction".

If the above two options fail for some reason, then you can start Bitcoin Core with the -zapwallettxes option to clear all unconfirmed transactions from your wallet.

Once the transaction is either Abandoned or cleared from the wallet, you can simply go to the Send tab and send the Bitcoin again but make sure that you include a sufficient transaction fee.

i didn't know about this command -walletbroadcast=0, but still the abandon transaction thing is greyed out, the transaction is not eligible for that command, and -zapwallettxes require to download again the whole blockchain i can't use it

there isn't somethign else in prune mode that can give you the possibility to send again your transaction?
1223  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: lets see how many of you are buying this time? on: May 26, 2017, 05:36:25 AM
cam down just a currection, it's not a real drop, the value is already recovering, personally i don't buy i prefer to generate bitcoin via mining, much more profitqable and zero risk

playing with the market when this is unpredictable it's too dangerous, this last drop was not expected to happen so fast, by how it was going i was seeing a nearly 3k value before the correction...
1224  Economy / Speculation / Re: We're reaching $3,000 soon! on: May 26, 2017, 05:34:11 AM
It seems to be the dump might be over. We ll probably see a few days of consolidation around $2400. After that, the race ll continue.

What s going to happen with major alts is my question? Before when BTC would go up, alts would go into red. Now we have situations where everything goes green, both BTC and alts.

i know it would happen, because above $2k the valeu increased too fast to be solid, still if they can hold $2k it's a good new bottom

this is a different increase than the one we had in the past, everything is pumped, because there are simpèly new investors, more money injected in the crypto market

and i'm in doubt that is is just a bubble, could be a genuine increase on all altcoin, in fact i never seen such a massive increase in the altcoin history every shit coin is pumped right now...

1226  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if I buy 3BTC now and forget about them for 10 years??? on: May 25, 2017, 02:15:36 PM
I am wondering, what would happened if I can get some cash to buy 3 BTC that means at the prices of this moment 1 BTC = 2,252 USD so would be 3BTC= 6,756 USD and forget that I Have them for 10 Years???

Will I be rich??
Will I have lost all the money??
Will I have just make a few extra dollars??

Would you do it??

Well, there are only 2 options: either you will be rich or you will lose all the money. I invest for the long term, but not the lodge all the funds in one cell.

or he simply have a good return without being rich, you know 3 bitcoin is not a good amount to become reach unless you believe that bitcoin will go to 1 millions per coins, which is really asking for too much

even in the possible adoption scenario i can't think how it could reach such a value, which is also 3 times higher than the one of gold, if we were to compare to it
1227  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will there be an epic dump? on: May 25, 2017, 02:12:48 PM
i believe yes, this last increase above $2k is raising too damn fast, can't be genuine at all they are indeed manipulating now the market, the last one was more slow and could be legit due to increase adoption

but in less than one day 25% more is crazy, still i'm with those that think the dump will not make the price go under $1300 anymore
1228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell / Pascal kernels. on: May 25, 2017, 08:41:56 AM
Skein has always worked nice (YIIMP has a pool), however profits from mining it are abysmal. Multi-algo coins such as DGB give a fraction of the reward that calcs show.

not true for me i did a 24 hours test and i'm getting what it show with skein on yiimp
1229  Economy / Economics / Re: Possible big Crash coming within 10 days on: May 25, 2017, 08:33:57 AM
it's much more probable that we increase again than going in a direction predicted by an unknown member on bitcointalk, also you must be new here, pump like these happenend many times in bitcoin, just with less digit...

There's a difference between what happened in 2013 and whats driving the price of Bitcoin to climb to what it is now. If you think about it since Japan started accepting Bitcoins, there's a demand from that country to buy Bitcoins and a few weeks from now Australia will start accepting Bitcoins which will also cause an increase of demand of Bitcoins. Back in 2013, there's not much positive news like that.

it's indeed different but if we made 10x in 2013, why we should not do it now with the current premise about regulation from japan and australia, and all the good thign happening about bitcoin? this a valid reason to think that there will be no dump

the thread started don't know what he is talking about, going from 1300 to 2500 is nothign extraordinary here, i think the train just strated
1230  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin's dominance in transaction volume [hard facts] on: May 25, 2017, 08:31:52 AM
how ar epeople payign in altcoin if no altcoin are accepted anywhere? they are lying obviously, altcoin are only used to have more bitcoin this is a fact

but it's also true thta the high fee of bitcoin is currently reducing the amount of transaction that are made, i mean if the fee was far lower we would have far more TX per day guaranteed
1231  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin transaction confirmed within 20 minutes on: May 25, 2017, 08:19:27 AM
still i have my two transactions stuck there forever, i know i piad less than the average but i was expecting it to confirm at soem point anyway

now those money are ther eunusuable, there is a way to retrieve those little 0.04 btc? i can't do zapwallettxes, because i'm on prune mode and it tell me that you need tor edownload the blockchain? abandon TX don't work, what i can do to get back my coins?

someone can rebroadcast it at least? 92690b02403237b8681b7e9804fddb6e82f6ebcdde68cf355673f184449e6d81 17d5403074cda1822ee1622555824529a37454f471293de927569683b0b00a3a
1232  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying Bitcoins now, At this price, It Isn't working on: May 25, 2017, 08:15:06 AM
again with this stupid "issue" there is not such thing as "expensive bitcoin" you simply buy less than before, because the value is higher

you would regret even buying now when the value will be much higher, pretty much like those that had the chance to buy it back at $500 and said the same thing as you

I love BTC, I want BTCs, but buying them now, at this price, it won't work..too expensive Sad Angry . If you owning Bitcoins or thousand satoshis, consider yourself lucky!

if you really "loved and wanted" bitcoin then you wouldn't have cared about its price at all.

if you want to use bitcoin, then buy it already. there are 100000000 satoshi in 1 bitcoin, pick an amount you are comfortable with and buy that and start using that

those who care too much about bitcoin price are loving fiat and wanting fiat not bitcoin Wink

I'd rather say they love profits

And they don't particularly care which currency this profit is denominated in (as long as it remains profit in any currency, obviously). After people get used to Bitcoin price consistently rising, they will start reinvesting their earnings from the previous cycle (if they aren't doing that already), and this is the point from where the crash begins counting down. Such processes are not self-sustaining, and when the right time comes we may see an avalanche of selloffs

they love profit but in the end those same people dump always for fiat, i doubt they are using bitcoin to purchase stuff on the web directly withotu exchanging for usd or euro..
1233  Economy / Speculation / Re: WARNING: Don't get REKT just HODL on: May 25, 2017, 08:12:38 AM
this is true if you think that shorter don't buy back the dip after they dump, which is always the case, shorting doesn't mean selling and go away of the market, mean always buy back to have more coins to hold

in other hand if you can short well you get more profit than those that simply holding, that can not increase their bitcoin amount
1234  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How exactly do Bitcoin transactions work ? on: May 24, 2017, 09:02:45 AM
Hello.
   I would like to know:

1- Is there a website (link) to check the Balance of a Bitcoin Address ?

2- How exactly do Bitcoin transactions work ?
I wanted to know Why Balance is not automatically deducted from the account when performing a Withdrawal Huh For example, I had 0.005 and when I try to send 0.002 to another address, I get the message "Withdrawal Successfull" but the balance remains the same and the 0.002 is not deducted from my account. So do you think it will be deducted later ?

Thank you for clearing me up.

1. Loads of websites to checkt he balance of a bitcoin address. Blockchain.info and many others, simply use a preferred search engine and search for "bitcoin explorer"

2. You do not want to know how bitcoin txes work, you simply want to know something regarding the wallet that you are using.
From what you have mentioned, you are using an online exchange as your bitcoin wallet, good luck with keeping your coins safe in the long run, get a desktop wallet like electrum.
If you are using an exchange, chances are you need to go to your email to confirm the bitcoin withdrawal as is standard operating procedures for all exchanges

But how does Bitcoin Txes work?

bitcoin transaction work in a way that miner decide which one to include in their block that they mined, and they do this accordingly to the amount of fee, they prioritize the one with higher fee, because they have betetr profit on those TX

you can use blockchaininfo to check all the records about your or other people TX

i think i'm going to try this, not enough slot anymore, can this work for nvidia too? should be no different
1236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ccminer 2.0 - opensource - GPL (tpruvot) on: May 24, 2017, 07:57:06 AM
how do you set diff in ccminer 2.0?

That depends on the pool, not the miner.

did it with suprnova d=0.01 on the password but the miner still reports 0.01xx or higher than 0.01

I don't think you can set a diff on suprnova.

apparently you can https://dgbg.suprnova.cc/
1237  Economy / Speculation / Re: When the bubble pops, what will the price fall to? on: May 24, 2017, 07:36:06 AM
it depend what will be the top first unless you believe this is the top, i think this can be already the new bottom when the market crash, fi the top it 10k, the new bottom would be far higher than what we have now

i really don't think we are goign to repeat the $100 to $1200 in 2013, with an added zero here, the climb is slower than 2013, we reached that ath int wo weeks in 2013, here we are moving really slow, despite what peopel think...

no my miner is the private from sp it report what it get

Are you running with reduced tdp? you should get 75 on the pool easily.

yeah reduced tdp, but i still get 70 MH, with summer i don't want to push too much the gpu also i have 1000 watt psu

Turns out you have to use static difficulty with ccminer 2.0. I'm using diff 0.01 and it's reporting 65MH/s. Pool is reporting a similar hashrate.

ccminer 1.2-x15 is ~20% slower than 2.0 but works well with VARDIFF.

I can't get to 70MH/s even with GPU clock and voltages tweaking. I have a Zotac 1070 Mini.

how do you set diff in ccminer 2.0?
1240  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin for $5000? on: May 24, 2017, 05:59:35 AM
at this rates it's not so out of qustion to think that 5k might be possible to reach, within this year, but the question is does it hold at that level or return back? a value that can't hold there and it's not stable it's not a good value

not sure if this increase is genuine or manipulated like many other we had in the past, need to wait and see the outcome, but really it's all about the adoption and block issue at this point, if either of these two get "fixed" you have a big value coming for sure
