To all gigaminers:

There has been a lot of news / discussion in recent days regarding new equipment coming out from Butterfly Labs. I have confirmed with BFL that this information is indeed correct and have submitted an order for 4 more mini rigs. This will bring gigamining up to a total of 8 mini rigs (204Gh/s), 14 BFL Singles (12Gh/s) and around 90 GPUs (36Gh/s).

There have also been multiple requests regarding whether the terms of the gigamining contract will change. This will not be a possibility until BFL is ready to deliver their new ASIC products. I am considering what should be done in this area, but for now the contract will stay at 5Mh/s. BFL has not given any public time frames around delivery of these products so I feel it's best to take a wait and see approach.

In the interim, gigamining is still fulfilling its contract to it's bondholders and this will continue. Mini rigs will be arriving this week (how many times have I heard this already) so expect to see pictures and video of them in the DC if they arrive.

Best,
gigavps

To all gigaminers:

I have been authorized to share some photos of the soon to arrive mini rigs! BFL has informed me that during their testing of the mini rigs, they needed to use a different PSU to make sure the mini rigs are as stable as the singles. Although BFL has delayed the shipment of the mini rigs, I would rather have them deliver a stable product that just works.

Looks like they'll be shipping by the weekend.

Best,
gigavps

1586  Other / Off-topic / Re: Mini Rig announcement by Butterfly Labs - 25gh/s on: June 15, 2012, 02:20:34 AM
Does anyone actually own one of these things? I'd love to buy one or two of them if I could actually see what they look like and get a detailed breakdown of whats inside.

None have shipped so far they claim that the reason they have shipped so few of the single units over the last couple of weeks is to work on getting these out the door plus they supposedly have big ASIC announcement due on the 15th of June that makes these machines obsolete.

Dillgaf, nobody ever said such a thing.  Quite the opposite, actually.  We have two distinctly separate production lines.  The singles are shipping in volume again and have been for some time.

Believe it was BFL-engineer who said that in one of the threads and if by volume you mean next to no one on this board reporting much for shipping of their singles to them then yeah you must be shipping tons of them.

Mr. FUD at it again.

Are the only people who mine BTC registered on the forums? Do they all have to register here before they can install the bitcoin client? Do you have BFL's client list and know that only people registered on the forums buy singles or mini rigs?

You would be wise to moderate yourself. If you need to take your anger out on someone, maybe you should look in the mirror.
1587  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BitForce SC - full custom ASIC on: June 12, 2012, 01:35:51 AM
Well what if they needed $1mil to create ASIC wafer ? You can't just get a loan like that easily.

They don't need loans these people here have already shown a willingness to give them hundreds of thousands of dollars and wait months on end to get their machines that are already bought and paid for, they'll just do it again for the ASICs.

I am more than happy to give BFL my money because they have proven to me that they can deliver. I did my due diligence and found them to be upstanding business men who make mistakes.

If anyone here doesn't make mistakes, please let yourself's be known to the rest of us so we can castrate troll you when you do.

To all gigaminers:

I have taken the time to read the three new pages of posts since I left my hotel room this morning. I understand the concerns of recent market fluctuations and only hope that you can keep confidence both in gigamining and myself.

Gigamining is growing at a rapid rate, and this is was requires my attention at this time.

Just FYI

Sorry guys, JWU42 is correct that the coupon payment has already gone out.

Didn't you issue the next round of bonds for 1.50 though?

Did you sell this last round to private investors for 1 btc?  Doesn't seem too cool to do that but whatever I sold right before the price went down

The last round was sold to private investors. Usually when their are bulk purchases (greater than 1k bonds) buyers usually insist on slight discounts to the current price.
1591  Economy / Services / Re: Gigamining / Teramining on: June 11, 2012, 02:36:17 PM
It does matter at what price the last bonds were sold.
If somebody bought the bonds very cheap, they can flood the market at any time and the bond will lose again a lot of value.

Gigamining was originally sold at 1 BTC each.
1592  Economy / Services / Re: Gigamining / Teramining on: June 11, 2012, 02:21:46 AM
Gigamining is moving to 200Gh in bonds.

More to come.....

I'm curious how this works. When you first issued bonds you had an IPO and sold X amount at like 1 BTC per bond, right?

How do you go about selling new bonds? Do you simply place a sell order on the open market and get people to buy them? If so, at what price? Or do you have specific individuals that buy them? And if so, at what price? I'm just curious about how things work.

I'd like to see this answered.  At what price point are you planning on releasing the bonds?  The bond price seems to have been hit hard just within the last 24 hours alone.

The entire sale was to a couple private investors.

@giga - Will be real cool to double your capacity with just 4 mid-size boxes! Grin  Will you show any pics of all the goodness?

Hi Cablez,

Pics are coming soon. When you are doing things that have never been done before, you always run into bumps in the road. I can disclose that gigamining will soon be running on one of the cheapest electricity rates in the united states and that I am investing heavily to make sure gigamining is the best mining bond to ever exist.

Gigamining's 200Gh will be fully backed by FPGAs and GPUs. We are the first in line to receive mini rigs.

110% PPS payouts will be paid for 3 weeks once the mini rigs arrive.

Will this be reflected on the Gigamining webpage by increasing the Mh/s Bond from 5 to 5.5 or will a new column be added to track the bonus?

Correct. The tracking spreadsheet will be updated to reflect the change once the mini rigs arrive.

Still looking for a proper fix to the networking thing, by proper I mean without reducing functionality.

Anyone that comes up with one, please let me know and we'll push out a fix.

I experienced the network issue for the last couple days. We fixed it by setting infinite leases for ip addresses. I know this doesn't fix the issue, but it at least keeps miners running.

To all gigaminers,

110% PPS payouts will be paid for 3 weeks once the mini rigs arrive. I have had word that they are working and are being tested now.

Get ready, things are heating up.

Yikes! Thanks for the status update. Good to know that the GPUs are running if not reporting. I hope the venture to be a wild success. Smiley

None of this would be happening if it wasn't for all of the gigaminer's out there. I cannot thank you guys enough, and will keep you updated as things happen.

According to:

http://gigamining.com/mgpumon/

There is about 15Gh/s running. It looks like mostly BFL Singles. Are all of the other GPUs (still) in transit? Something like 26.5Gh/s worth?

And, by the way, a GPU is down and has been down for a while now.

Hi Lumpy,

Most of the GPUs are now up and running again. It will be approximately 15 days until we have fiber to the new DC to start reporting stats to a central location. GPUs go down from time to time, no big deal. I have been working 15 hour days to start getting the new DC up and running.

there are many options where you can start out with little money for instance:

You can get started with a back plane $99.99 and a single Spartan 6 plugin card (200mhash) for only $349.99

http://www.btcfpga.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=54

and you can add 1-3 additional Spartan 6 plugin cards when you are ready to upgrade
