Well said Scott and thanks for teaching me a thing or two.  Win/Win

Today's rate is 0.0000101009664409.  Nice to see a 1 after those 4 zeros...like we are back in '82.

Can this thing handle 200Gh?

If some people are unwilling to release their personal details and would rather sign a message with the associated btc address invalidating their claim, I think that those coins can be donated to the Bitcoin Foundation.

This is not an unreasonable request and I will speak with counsel to see if something like this can work.

Giga, is there any conclusion on this topic?

No. I have not inquired about it as it has been more important to get verified claims paid and to get ready for the arrival of the BFL equipment.

You came with the stupid idea of notarized affidavit which is more expensive to get for me than what I have in GIGA.

I did not come up with anything, I've been advised by competent representation that this is the proper way to handle the situation. As for the expense of the process, most of this stuff is free in the US. Also, over 50% of all claims have come from outside the US thus far so somehow people from Australia, Canada, Finland, Germany and elsewhere have been able to work through what is needed and have provided it.

I wrote an email to you and your lawyer explaining the situation and asking whether there is another option for small bond holders or whether you are going to pay the costs of changed agreement. Then after being multiple times reminded I received an email 1 month later only repeating the claim process. This is not the way you should treat us.

As I have said, things have not gone as well as I would have liked. Quentin has had numerous email issues and I apologize if you feel you have been treated unjustly. I am doing my best but unfortunately I yet to obtain a reality distortion field like Steve Jobs had.

So I'm starting to consider to donate my bonds or their value to Bitcoin Foundation if you offer this option.

This option is not on the table at this time as the claims process is nowhere near over. If we ever get to a place where most claims have been paid, we can revisit the issue.

Best,
James

James,

I sent in my information to Q and I know it got there no later then Wed last week.  Certified mail stub should be here today.  I know you said he was sick but you also said you have more to add to the website and will be sending out the info yesterday.  Will I receive email saying here is your login info to VBS or something saying I didn't meet the requirements and what you still need?  Thanks

Naelr

Hi Naelr,

I am still waiting to hear about those who mailed their information directly to the office. Quentin works from multiple locations and is not always in Miami so he relies on office staff to get him the mailed documentation.

As soon as you are added to the list of verified claims, I'll set you up on the VPS site and that process will email you to complete your registration.

Best,
James

Is there a way I can find out what Bitcoin address I used to register the claim?

Hi Lucidize,

You can email me directly from the email address you gave GLBSE and I can look into it for you.

Did you miss the part where I mentioned I will forward tracking number as soon as it is made available to me, OR
Did you miss the part where I mentioned due to CNY there is multiple problems getting the package out of mainland, OR
Did you just wish to continue to repeat the fact I have yet to give out a tracking number.

Please tell me it's #3 so I can start ignoring you.

If you are going to start trolling your potential customers, you may want to start trying harder. Maybe Inaba will give you a quick lesson.  Roll Eyes

...The terms of service for electronic signatures from the website is now under review and should be on my desk tomorrow...

Is there any hope for Digital (electronic) Signature claim or this is just a typo ?!

Hi 2GOOD,

The electronic signatures I am referring to are for upgrading to Teramining AFTER having submitted a valid claim through the claims process.

Sorry for the confusion.

Best,
James

Only one problem, I can't access your site.....  Huh
828  Economy / Services / Re: Gigamining / Teramining on: January 29, 2013, 09:00:23 PM
I finally got my claims! Thanx Gigavps.

You are welcome burger.

As per my reply yesterday, I have spoken with Quentin today and have added more verified claims to the VPS website. There have been a significant amount of claims this round and this pleases me quite a bit. I am glad there are those who instead of screaming and shouting can follow simple directions to make their claim.

I hope that this continues.

The terms of service for electronic signatures from the website is now under review and should be on my desk tomorrow. I apologize for the delay, but Quentin had been out sick. Once the TOS is live on the site along with the upgrade process, I will have an announcement regarding the Teramining upgrade.

Best,
James

...and this is the respectable ASIC vendor. Holy crap. Roll Eyes

Order NOW! Don't wait for the proof we promised! HURRY HURRY HURRY! WE NEED MONEY! RUN don't walk!

Where are all of the profits from batch #1?

* gigavps pulls out his calculator

1,299 * 300 == $389,700

Surely if you don't have any profits left over you'd keep your word and do some demos before asking for another $900k right?

To all Gigaminers:

I have received an updated list of verified claims and have setup accounts for those Gigaminers. I will be reviewing a few more accounts with Quentin sometime tomorrow and should be setting up some more accounts on the VPS site at that time.

I would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to claim. I appreciate you working with me so we can move forward in confidence.

Best,
James

James,

When these get setup will those of us who are newly setup get paid immediately or do we have to wait for next Monday?

thanks.

Hi Naelr,

When your account is first created, I setup all of the back payments as pending to give you time to login and review the information. Payments then go out the following Monday.

Best,
James
833  Economy / Services / Re: Gigamining / Teramining on: January 28, 2013, 06:07:25 PM
To all Gigaminers:

Today's payment has been sent out to all verified claimants. I have also spoken with Quentin this morning and he is in the process of getting me an updated verified claims list and responding to those who have questions. I should have the list before the end of the day so any new accounts should be setup tomorrow.

Have a good week.

Best,
James

I think it is not guaranteed that a mini-rig is always more efficient than a Single SC
I would actually guess that the Minirig will be slightly less efficient than the Single, depending on the power supply used. The Supernova in the MR is Gold rated, if you use something similar the single might come in lower as I'm going to guess that the power density of the MR is going to mean more power will be required to cool it that the equivalent number of SCs would use.

Per the picture linked below, the only PSU that is 1500w and has a handle on it like that is this -> http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=120-PG-1500-XR

https://forums.butterflylabs.com/attachments/announcements/395d1358119509-bfl-asic-status-2013-01-11_032.jpg

The PSU can even do 1650w at 208v and is rated for 90% efficiency. Running on higher voltages should make the PSU even more efficient.

As for cooling, my mini rigs have 9 fans on each wall in push pull configuration. If there are 24 PCBs per mini rig this would mean that there would be less fans than running 24 singles.
835  Economy / Services / Re: Gigamining / Teramining on: January 26, 2013, 01:25:53 PM
You can say this, but then again, there is no proof.

I have a spreadsheet of everyone Quentin has communicated with along with what they have or have not sent in. If you would have taken the time to email me, I could have checked the list to see what is going on.

Anyway the original deal didnt say anything about this claims process.

The original deal also doesn't have your name on it. I am trying to help you get assigned what is yours. I would like to help you, just email me.

If you would like to see the original contract, you can find it here -> https://virtualprocessingsolutions.com/faq

It is also not only "taking time". You are asking things from me that are partly illegal in my country (like sending a copy of my ID) and costly.

I have specifically hired counsel to make sure this process is done correctly. The information is required by US Federal law for multiple reasons.

I am not even sure I will get the money from you that I would have to spend forehand to get all these documents you are asking for.

There are multiple people who have posted in this thread that they have received all of their back payments.

Since this is a complete online operation, it is absolutely exaggerated to ask for more documents than needed for opening a bank or paypal account.
There are defenitely easier ways for you to find out our identity and assure that we are the owner of those bonds, but what you are asking is just one step away from asking to come by personally and sign whatever it takes.

If you know of a way to create legally binding documents across international borders that prove who you are and is not what the claims process is, I would like to hear your plan.

Your lack of understanding that this is not what people agreed to when they gave you money in the first time, shows that you dont even care about those people who financed your operation and only want your own ass saved.

Without VPS continuing, nobody gets paid. I'm not sure how you don't see that.

What is the percentage of payouts you are actually sending and what is your excuse for keeping the rest of the money people trusted you with, people that cant provide the things you are asking for, for different reasons? Again I say there is a word for it: theft!

If I was trying to scam Gigaminers, why would I still be here? Why would I not just do what every other now known scammer has done and stopped communicating? Why would I hire a lawyer? Why would I offer Teramining?

Could it possibly be that I want to continue with what we've started here?

I'm sorry if you feel that I am not doing everything that I can to help you. If you email me, I can look at the documentation that I have and we'll see what I can do.

Best,
James

I'm pretty sure creativex is trying to help Josh sell more equipment by keeping this thread at the top of the list.  Tongue

I wrote another email to Quentin on January 21st. Guess what, he just ignores me. I am not even sure if this guy exists. But I know that I gave you BCs to finance your operation and you hardly refuse to fulfill your part of the contract by simply forwarding me to your not responding so called lawyer!
This is criminal and nothing else. You have my adress and my email in the list you got from GLBSE. Pay my outstanding payments!

Hi bixcoin,

If you feel that Quentin is ignoring you, then please email me directly and I will contact him today to make sure he gets you an answer.

james at gigamining dot com

I have not refused to pay anyone who has taken the time to follow the claims process. Payments are again being made on Monday's to those who have done so. I have/am fulfilling my obligations while making sure Gigamining is around to continue to do so.

Best,
James
838  Economy / Services / Re: Gigamining / Teramining on: January 25, 2013, 03:08:55 AM
I have seen alot of "requests" for "Please tell me what you think Teramining should be and we can discuss it." and I have seen a few put out there without so much as a "NO I cannot do that!"  Where is the discussion?

Hi Naelr,

Been busy this week training a new employee and writing code for more software to better manage the Teramining business. As for what Teramining should be, I fully understand that its current incarnation is different from previously proposed and I have lowered the price to reflect this. As for the length, I am still considering what to do.

Another question I have is how long does it take Quentin to "process" our claims?  He should have gotten mine on Tuesday and just wondering how long I have to wait to get a response?

I have spoken with Quentin today. He has been out sick for the last two week so he should be processing the backlog as we speak. I expect to have something by Friday. After this update, he will continue his weekly email responses and status updates for claims.

Best,
James

If Avalon's website is any clue, they will soon have the capacity to start delivering 30Th per week.....

true, but at a certain point in time adding 30 TH to one's mining farm gives a negative return, I mean, you end up paying more in electricity than you get from mining.

there is not an infinitely available mining capacity, it is constrained by electricity costs.

IMHO.

spiccioli

While you are correct that there is no an infinite capacity the network can handle, it does change based off of the pricing of the equipment. So all equipment is selling at $20/Gh, we'd probably see a 800Th network at some point over the next year. If the manufacturers slash pricing in half, we could easily see a doubling of the hashrate to 1.6Exh simply because the break even calculations have to be adjusted.
840  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGMINER GPU FPGA overc monit fanspd RPC stratum linux/windws/osx/mip/r-pi 2.10.4 on: January 21, 2013, 09:37:09 PM
I was mining on a local stratum install testing out some stuff when the stratum server ran into this message from cgminer:

Code:
2013-01-21 16:30:15-0500 [Protocol,4,192.168.2.100] Unhandled Error
...................
stratum.custom_exceptions.ProtocolException: Cannot decode message '{"params": ["gigavps.000", "8 0002", "H0000", "Hh b334", "4c39cdf0"], "id": 2320, "method": "mining.submit"}'

Not sure what that is, but cgminer submitted it. All of the mining equipment running at the time was BFL singles or mini rigs.
