161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEM] NEM -New Economy Movement - No Envy Movement - Updates+Discussion thread on: May 27, 2014, 02:18:48 AM
After reading the NEM auction format, it seems very inefficient and time consuming to return funds and organize who the winning and loosing bids are. It is also quite ridicules that if i would like to increase my bid i can't but it would count as 2 seperate bids instead...

My suggestions:
1. Simply use cryptothrift.com, they are very good and charge 2.5% per sold item.
2. Make a wordpress site and use the wp auctions plugin which allows you to auction off items and accpet bitcoin. WP auctions plugin lite is free and pro version is $40 which can be paid in bitcoin.

Both are very easy to setup, allows people to increase their bid and less time consuming.

Top 2 Bid order now in AE:
Account                                  Quantity    Price    Total
NXT-5RB8-KJD3-BT3B-E2QWW   0.2         26'000   5'200
NXT-P5JJ-YSAL-G6N7-7WL2N   0.1         25'000   2'500

So cheap! Forget it...

i think nobody sell for that price.
But still 26000NXT for whole stake is 4M$ marketcap for NEM.
When aplha go out...10M$, for beta 30M$ and in july i hope 100 M$

sounds right to be honest! 4m now even is astounding! id even say 12-15 after alpha!

@devs.. how is the testing going?

i wonder is it possible.. for the nem community to set up an angle investment company.. so a few tusted guys run it.. but everyone helping find start ups to invest in with a preference for companies that would be likely to incorporate nem, but not limited to that..

the way i would see it working is,

everyone who wants to participate buys shares to build up working capital, but leave a percentage of share on the side lines.. (il come back to this)

when an interesting investment opportunity shows up.. the prospectus is sent to all share holders and a vote is held on whether to invest.. (say 80% must vote yes for it to go through!)

to reward the finder of the investment, they receive a finders fee in the form of bonus shares (the ones from the side lines, the amount of shares given as a bonus would be suggested and then voted on, bonuses would vary based on the merits of the find.)

once the shares on the side lines run out. dividends from previous company purchases (a certain percentage) will be donated to the finders fee fund. by this stage you will receive less shares but they will be worth more so it equals itself out.. this will be stated in the prospectus of the "nem investment co. prospectus so anyone purchasing shares will know that a small amount of dividends payed will be used for this purpose.

once an investment matures, a vote will be held for all share holders of "nem investment co." on when to sell, and what percentage to sell.

the current total amount invested, shares held by "nem investment co.", the value of these shares, and the amount paid in dividends should be 100% transparent for all share holders, by sending weekly/bi-weekly/monthly updates from the issuer account of the shares.

a highly trusted member would be required to issue the initial shares, hold the ones on the sidelines, distribute dividends to share holders, and make the actual investments. perhaps if multisigniture accounts are created for nem this could be used by 3 trusted members.

a forum/thread could be easily created in order to discus/share info on future/past/present investments.

the whole idea is a decentralised angle investment firm thats run by the nem community as a whole and not one single party, with the aim of bringing new companies into the nem eco system, and helping progress those that are already in the nem eco system.

this is bare bones idea so its very much open for discussion..

thoughts?

People can just use the asset exchange, each individual will have more control over his/her investments and no community money management is needed. It is better to have a Nem investment community who discuss and advise each other on new investment opportunities.
163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SKY] Skycoin Launch Announcement on: May 26, 2014, 11:38:58 AM
Very interested in this coin and the IPO.

This coin seems to be the underlying currency of the upcoming meshnet global network.

What i see is that meshnets are the ultimate goal, mass adoption can only be attainable with the deployment of satellites that which connect countries together to create a global mesh network. Can't see it any other way, we can't have these local mesh networks, its just not going to be enough to get people thinking about using meshent over the existing internet.

How are you guys going to afford and deploy sattelites?

Also what makes skywire better than cjdns/hyperboria network?

164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NEM] NEMstake tokens are listed on Nxt asset exchange on: May 26, 2014, 12:58:54 AM
Firstly i was against this nxt Ae-token thing, but as i thought more, i clearly can see that it would be a interesting opportunity to test both of the coins. Great change to sell 1/10 of your coins and make it totally risk-free bet!

I'm not going to sell my share at this point, but prices seen pretty damm good at these circumstances. After release NEM gonna surge for sure!

id put it 40m - 80m dollar cap straight after launch...(its 4m now.. pritty much based on faith and not much else, still alpha/beta/client/official release/asset exchange to come, all going to increase price)

10 times that if bitcoin goes through another 10 fold bubble. could be above nxt.. nxt would be above litecoin atm if the distribution was as good as nem.. so perhaps many will look at nem as nxt 2.0 rather than bitcoin 2.0.. Smiley if nem = 40m cap + growth added by bitcoin bubble going 10 fold, 1 stake = 100k... i dont think many would be foolish enough, even to sell 1/10.. not the way things are going!

Its crazy
The price will fall after the launch it is too much i think

26k Nxt = ~$1000
Which is a 4million market cap. How is that to high? and why do you think it will drop after launch?

Quark and Primecoin have a market cap of 4mil, Nem is surely more innovative than them.

Proof Of importance may be a bigger deal than you think.

165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NEM] NEMstake tokens are listed on Nxt asset exchange on: May 25, 2014, 07:51:33 AM
definitely not selling at these prices.
166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NEM] Do you want to have asset exchange token before the official launch ? on: May 25, 2014, 01:03:52 AM
I use the nxt solaris client.
When I go to Nemstake, price, quantity, total, and account either show 0.00 or are empty. Why is this?
Is nxt solaris completely compatible with the asset exchange?

Thanks,
EFFV

Another question... Since stake tokens can be broken into 10 different pieces if I put in a buy order for one token is that 1/10 or 1 of a stake?
The nxt solaris order submit does not allow decimals.
1 stake

168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NEM] Do you want to have asset exchange token before the official launch ? on: May 25, 2014, 12:24:23 AM

Has anyone recieved theirs yet?
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: May 24, 2014, 02:08:48 AM
First time starting up bytecoin and i have found a major flaw.

The blockchain is already 1.7GB that is 1/10 of the bitcoin blockchain. Considering the transactions and usage of bitcoin is 1000's+ more than bytecoin why is the bytecoin blockchain so huge already?

170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DRK Coin is closed source? on: May 24, 2014, 01:26:11 AM
I can't stress this enough to you n00bs.

Bytecoin! Bytecoin! Bytecoin!

thanks
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DRK Coin is closed source? on: May 24, 2014, 12:28:26 AM
Darkcoin does not interest me, if you want a true anonymous and open source coin made by academics then wait for zerocoin which will be released in 3-6 months.

https://twitter.com/secparam/status/468784402558771200

Darkcoin aims to mix and confuse while zerocoin aims to be 100% invisible.

Zerocoin / Zerocash is 100% dependant/centralised on the coin dev destroying the one time setup key. If this is not destroyed or cracked later on, the entire coin becomes useless.

Couple that with the mathematics and cryptography foundations that DARPA, Dept Defence has provided to develop Zerocash - I would not touch it with a 100 foot pole.

I could say the same thing about Darkcoin, its closed source so i wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole.

Oh and btw you are wrong about that centralization of key control...

There are other currencies which aim to be anonymous and i believe will be superior to even zerocoin, zerocoin is just a clean example of anonymity using gen1 blockchain technology.

I was under the impression that members coded more than 2 hours a day but that was my mistake i just checked the NEM Development plan. I don't find that impossible with a full time job and i was under the impression that it was necessary to do so with your ETA claims. Its just hard for me to compute that a project with huge ambitions is matched with 2 hours a day of work per dev. I am also just getting frustrated with the alpha launch and i am just trying to point the finger at somebody.  Tongue

I've agreed with many things you've said on this forum, but you really got on my nerves, I'm sitting more than 30 hrs a week (and I have a job besides that as other devs), so please, just shut up now.

not to mention the time at my ACTUAL job that I spend thinking ON NEM, and what we need+should do

Oh P.S. I actually was considering quitting job, and one of the devs probably too, but I simply can't afford it.

Well since you BROUGHT it up again(telling someone to shut up is like putting kerosene in  fire)

Yeah if you read it was a misinterpretation, I thought 2 hours a day was too low but his meaning of a couple was different to mine. I never said that anyone should quit their job. If your working 30 hours a week that's approx 4.2 hours a day 7 days a week which is obviously more than 2 hours a day.

If you didn't want anyone talking shit then you should have stayed quite, develop the currency then distribute and release it. This IPO stuff just makes people fucking anxious.

Who said 2 hours ? I said a couple of hours. That can range from 2 to about 4 or 5 (i guess everyone has their own limits for "a couple").

It's also not like all the devs come together then code for a couple of hours and then nothing happens for a day. Spread over multiple timezones there is probably always somebody working on NEM so if you see it that way the devs are working 24/7.

Imho it's nobodys businees if the devs work 1 minute or 10 hours a day as long as they deliver.

Yes as long as they deliver, but if they don't deliver on time, questions like work hours and doubt will become more and more frequent. These things will pop up whether you like them or not, an open and public forum does not care what your moral compass is.

This is going to turn into more pages of useless dribble lol so i better stop here, cheers.

I am impressed with the management of stakeholding and egalitariasm so far.
Just a question....how can NEM deliver to the standard of NXT or greater if the Development team works
only part time? Nxt team has been working for months 24/7 developing the asset exchange and suchlike and
I believe with very talented individuals.
Is the NEM team better quality and more efficient?

quality != time until completion

Sorry but that's a weak answer Pat....
Our dev team works a couple of hours a day even on weekends.

I don't know what universe you live in but a couple hours a day is nothing. Especially something that is supposed to change the world. This is starting to seem more like a side project with a nice revenue model than a desire to truly change the world for the better.

I am disappoint.

and you are also delusional it seems.

Just get my token on the asset exchange and I'll be happy Smiley

oh btw you want to talk about delusional, your mate makoto wrote this: https://trello.com/c/6ERRDAZy/45-nem-cooperative-village

177  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Ebay/Paypal's ridiculous fees on: May 22, 2014, 08:53:04 AM
Just thought I'd drop by and introduce myself and CryptoThrift.

First, I would like to thank those who have mentioned us and criticized us, it's appreciated.

We admit we're still nowhere near where we plan to be. We are adding new features on a weekly basis, enhancing the buying and selling experience for our users and making it as effortless as possible to sell, buy, release escrow or even get a refund.

We understand that the site doesn't look the best, but don't judge a book by its cover.  A lot of "nice" looking sites were online for a short period of time before they got hacked, they closed down or they were found to be "not so legit" so to speak. Before we enhance the look of the site, we have great and exciting features to add, and we believe this is more important than the look of the site. That said, we are working on enhancing the current UI as we speak, but a full site rewrite is planned in the near future as well.

We are a registered business operating on Australian land and we are as transparent as you can get when operating an online business.  The founders are both active members of the Bitcoin Associtation of Australia and invited members of the Bitcoin Professionals subgroup.

We are currently working on a major marketing campaign, including adverts on Bitcoin and Crypto related sites, blogs, Google ads, and various press publications. We have a big three months of advertising ahead of us and we believe we should be able to double our numbers of both buyers and sellers.

In terms of where we currently stand, May has been a very exciting month for us, we've broken new big numbers:
- 1,000,000 page views this month.
- 200,000 unique visitors
- 5,000+ registered users

Our short term plan is to increase the above figures by 2-3 fold in the next three months with advertising campaigns, a vouchers/referrals system, as well as few new features which will help our current and new users transact smoother than ever.  We also have some exciting partnerships in the pipeline with some major players in the Bitcoin industry.

I would like to invite every one to give CryptoThrift a try and send us their feedback, it's the only way we can enhance what we have. If you have a Bitcoin related site and have spare ad spaces for sale, shoot us an email support[at]cryptothrift[dot]com we are looking for you. If you would like to partner with us and exchange advertising, we're also open for that.

Just checked the site, it has improved alot since i last checked. Do you have any plans on adding more crypto-currencies. Dogecoin and NXT for example.

Also you need to add a drop down menu for domestic only items, not items that ship to a certain country. Only way i can do this with your site is if i search for an item then filter that result to domestic only, which is an inconvenience.

178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEM] NEM -New Economy Movement - No Envy Movement - Updates+Discussion thread on: May 21, 2014, 11:31:42 PM

fees seem to high though.

Given 1 nxt is only 3 cents, it's not that high. They were planning to change the fees if nxt  went up to 10 cents.

Ahh didn't realise Nxt coin supply was 1billion. Thought it was alot less.

Fellow NEMers, anyone have an opinion on NXT Lite? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=590421 Their IPO is ending soon, should I take a chance or is it a scam?

Their are better projects to put your money in. No one will tell you them because they are waiting for the projects to be released. Once they are released they will start promoting them like crazy and by that time it is too late to make big profits. That's all I can say.
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NEM] Do you want to have asset exchange token before the official launch ? on: May 21, 2014, 10:15:28 PM
why would you like Nem tokens when all you have done is try and fuck your friends up ?
Minnow poor troll.

wtf are you talking about?
