161  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If this doesn't wake you up and make you do the RIGHT thing... on: April 18, 2024, 12:07:20 PM
Another interesting observation by one of the users is that the pools started doing this in November to January [3] so it's likely either miners selling bitcoins to prep their post-halving warchests, feeding the ETFs or both.
I like to lean on the fact that it's the reason why miners are doing this, definitely pumping their warchest as you like to call it, there's no way that it's a nonsense thing what they're doing, I mean every actions got meaning right? I don't know about ETFs though, I'm sure they're leaning more towards bitcoin than ETFs. I don't even see what's being pointed by OP in the post, it's PoW not PoS so they're not that easily controlled by Coinbase even if they're all consolidated together, bitcoin is and will always be about freedom, no doubts about it.
162  Other / Meta / Re: Reply without bumping? on: April 17, 2024, 11:38:53 PM
I don't think its gonna be effective cause if there are less people who can see on that post then it's hard to caught that scammers.
Exactly, but that's just one of the many reasons why no bump replies are a bad thing to the forum's ecosystem as I like to call it. Having no bumps when you reply to a topic no matter how old the topic is means that necro posters would have the easy time to discretely pumping their post counts by replying to old posts that don't seem relevant, without the bump in that old topic, people wouldn't easily check if there's been an anomaly, a closer inspection would reveal the abuse but it's not everyday that someone's have the time to check on profiles of each people here in the forum. Another thing is updates, if you don't bump old topics that needed an update, things would be left in question for so many people and who knows what might hurt when people don't know about the updates because it wasn't bumped, it's kind of like in a game, if you haven't heard about the new updates to the mechanics, you will have a hard time navigating the game for awhile.
163  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Now that Bitcoin is no longer digital cash? on: April 17, 2024, 04:32:55 PM
That doesn't even make sense that bitcoin becomes irrelevant just because meme coins and institutional investors are on the loose, that's just not how things work with bitcoin or even the cryptocurrency space in the first place, have you seen who's the first place on the market and how much is the total market value of bitcoin (this one might not be accurate)? Look at how many companies are below bitcoin in terms of value and you'd see that you're not talking something factual. Those stuff that you're talking about, they're going to be gone in a few years if not months but bitcoin? Bitcoin's here to stay, I'm telling you.
164  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: btc purchases on: April 14, 2024, 11:24:14 AM
What qualifications are you talking about? You can use any P2P platform suggested by other users that doesn't require any KYC verification. When you want to buy bitcoin with fiat, the only option is p2p or card. So for the card, you will end up with KYC verification. You may also seek out the currency exchange section on this forum. You may post your requirements and use the escrow service to avoid scams. So that's how I think you can buy Bitcoin. However, learn about the wallet service where you will store your bitcoin. It should be non-custodial, like Electrum, or it should be a hardware wallet.
Probably something to do with KYC, most likely reason that some people that are using exchanges which is most likely centralized are people that don't know any better and so they end up having to buy or sell bitcoin there and they end up having to comply with the KYC, I think that P2P in their local market is the best course of action for this one, or maybe doing escrows too to make it safer to buy directly from people.
165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An AI-powered Twitter bot predicts Bitcoin’s price on: April 14, 2024, 09:24:36 AM
It is impossible to see the future! Writing some code to predict it, is definitely not going to work.
This is why your "bot" fails.

We aren't yet in the unpredictable territory either. I'd say at the time being because of the halving and the similar patterns in history we are in a more predictable phase where speculation about the price is easier in comparison to other times when certain events cause unpredictable volatility.
We'll eventually get there, success after all is a compilation of mistakes (that's not repeated), we will eventually be able to predict prices and I think that they're probably doing this too with the Stock Market, if you can corroborate human behavior and the previous market for that time and arrive at a conclusion, there's a chance that you can predict what can happen, of course this won't be true in the cases of market manipulation but if we're just talking about the invisible hands of the market then AI will able to eventually predict how the market will move, AI isn't perfect yet but we humans will eventually come to that point.
166  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It takes the balls... on: April 14, 2024, 06:41:22 AM
Of course I did, I have like $500 left over and I've used about half of it to buy when the price dipped, definitely hodling and not taking a profit though, it feels like it can go higher and I got to say that I'm still fine even without the money, won't mind it growing in bitcoin no matter what, I pity those that are still indecisive though, you got to do something about that because you're never going to be getting what you want if you've got your doubts last minute when prices starts tanking.

You also forgot to mention OP, that some of these people that you proudly call no balls investors, most of them probably don't have the money to dispose of right now that the price has dipped suddenly, it's not like they wanted to not invest, it's just that they've got some priorities so understand that some of them can't just buy because they don't have the money and time.
167  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Few days to 4th Bitcoin Halving on: April 14, 2024, 05:48:07 AM
yes, we're going to see another rally in a few weeks maybe. there is just a crash in price though. i think this is because of the war that is currently breaking in the Red Sea again. talk about the timing where it really needs a crisis for the price to go down.

the bull market will not end sooner. its already written in the cycle that every halving the next will be bull run. we'll be seeing another run some say it will be a supercycle.
There's a rumor going on that the Iran declaring to attack Israel is probably the reason for a huge price dump but it was a quick recovery, probably the only people that got the most damage at that time were those trying to go for long with bitcoin, that's definitely going to hurt for them. Pretty impressive too that it did recover so fast.

Now in regards to our talk about the nearing of the halving, time flies so fast for these and I'm not ready for the fact that the market's almost there, it's best that we have to remember that this halving is a bit different, it might take a while before things happen because it's a different kind of halving compared to last time because this one, we've got a new all-time high before the halving has started and I think that it's a signal that something's going to change for the bitcoin market, we need to expect the unexpected.
168  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Account just created spreading phishing sites on: April 13, 2024, 11:37:17 PM
The account has been nuked. I guess it won't be necessary flagging and tagging the account after all.

I like how mods act so fast these days banning accounts that post phishing links.
It's a good thing that they move fast, you don't know how much damage these phishing links do to someone, it's a really wild card type of damage so I understand why the need to move so quickly, I think it's a good thing that they do this too because that means they're concerned about others that might try clicking on it accidentally especially the newbies, they're the most vulnerable and susceptible victims to this phishing. Hats off to the mods for the fast action on this one.
169  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: FixedFloat.com stole my funds on: April 13, 2024, 03:43:04 PM
Can you provide screenshots of this messages and the proofs on this thread OP, it would be a big help if you do it, it's the first time that I've heard of Fixed Float so I'm not sure what's the case here. Also, would it be alright if you also explain what they do too? Regarding how to post your screenshots, just go to TalkImg(.)com and there you can upload the screenshot and then copy the code that will be provided after successfully uploading the screenshots.

So sorry for the lose and the accusations that got you into this pickle of a situation, maybe you can do something about them via legal actions, once you've threaten these groups that the law is going to be involved, they're most likely to get moving and try to resolve your issue with them, trust me, if the police are involved, most of these amateur scammers easily fold.

This is the link to the TalkImg to upload the screenshots.

170  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Kulboi123 is a Scammer - BEWARE on: April 13, 2024, 02:42:23 PM
I feel bad for you OP but you should be careful next time. As yahoo62278 has suggested that you could have use an escrow that would save you from being scammed.

I believe escrow services of the reputed members of the forum is necessary and anyone who doesn't escrow, always risk their money.

You're not the only one who got scammed by such scammers. Anyone who isn't aware about such hacks often get scammed by such scammers.
Seeing how OP is a newbie in this forum, it's probably not the first thing that have come to his mind because there's no way that you'd think of this first when dealing with something online, you've been dealing with stuff online and never once have you used an escrow so I'm not particularly sure how they could've thought of that, maybe it's a mistake but I think that not everyone who's new in the forum would do any hiring of escrows, at least OP knows now that this is the thing that they should do when doing it again. Maybe it's their fault that their exploration of the forum didn't include inquiry when it comes to doing deals here but other than that, I'm sure it's still the scammer's fault, they need to be punished.

To OP, I'm sorry for your loss but remember that karma is a bitch and whatever goes around comes around, that scammer's days are numbered, something devastating or miserable will eventually happen to them so never worry too much.
171  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How To Make Money Trading, Even When You Are Wrong on: April 13, 2024, 01:35:42 PM
Can you link the video that you're talking about, it might help that we would know what exactly that person is talking about since you've said that you don't have a really good English vocabulary, might help that others would see it and at the same time would help this thread so it's not all talk about being careful with whatever you're watching online as it's full of information. From what I can understand with what you're talking about, I'd say that you're just describing someone that's hodling with extra steps, they don't quickly sell when the price isn't in their favor so they keep it and then trade another which is just a complicated DCA to me.
172  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does number of traders affect volatility? on: April 12, 2024, 11:38:34 PM
Yes, it does affect the volatility but you can't really see it as it's so insignificant anyway that bitcoin's still volatile. The more people there is that's trading bitcoin, the more there is the volatility because some might just be hodling but there's someone out there that's selling and buying and most of the time, there's never any time that no one's not selling at the market, the only way that the volatility could ever be removed is if there's some form of unity that we don't have to sell at this point in time but that's not going to happen.
173  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what sort of features would you want in a trading bot? on: April 12, 2024, 07:51:13 PM
I'm a simple man, I want my bot to be able to do all the trading for me without the need for me to do some adjustments to the system, they should be able to trade in just one click of a button, so basically the feature that I'm looking for a trading bot is something that's probably not yet realized by many developers because it's difficult to do since you're not relying on the users anymore, you're making the AI do the trading without the adjustments that's unique for most people. Most trading bots already have a lot of features so I'm not inclined to add more if it doesn't benefit me in terms of finances, I'm not going to make it complicated if it's not going to make things more easy for me to use the bot to make me more profit/money in trading.
174  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Did you know about AI trading bot? on: April 12, 2024, 07:07:57 PM
AI trading bots are still a risky thing to use for an already risky activity which is a bad idea, as much as I like technology and AI technology's current innovation, it's still a bit lacking in some departments that will probably take some time before it can ever solved and right now, if you're still the one that's specifying what the bot should do when it comes to trading, it's probably in your best interest to stay away from that because you still need to do some inputs to the put just to automate it but I think that a perfected AI should be able to just trade straight away without any prompts or specifics from the users, that's the time that I know I can trust trading bots to trade for me, note that the trust goes hand in hand with the fact that you're going to still be profiting from the trades of that bot/AI 90% of the time and the losses would be at a minimum.
175  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does trading belongs to everyone? on: April 12, 2024, 04:54:12 PM
I think what you're trying to say is if trading is for everyone and if that's what you're trying to say then my take is that it's for everyone but the risk and losses accumulated isn't for everyone, anyone can trade but the wins are a different thing. That's why you still got people talking about how they could've done something different in regards to how they've done their trades or that they could've made some kind of research before jumping right into trading because trading is for every person but whether they win or lose at their trades, it's entirely up to them what they're going to get.
176  Economy / Economics / Re: April 10 CPI Print came in hot on: April 12, 2024, 03:50:54 PM
I don't live in the US, and I don't feel the impact of the US monetary policies. As someone from a developing low-income country, I find it hard to understand how a 3.5% increase in the consumer price index is a big deal, and how inflation below 5% can be considered bad because it doesn't meet the target 2%. These are such small numbers to me, and yet people in some other countries pay a lot of attention to them.
Given the influence that US have on different countries, I'm sure that you'll feel it one way or another, of that I'm sure. They've got almost all of the global brands right? Which means that most of the country's policy would affect those companies and in extension, also the satellite braches on the countries that have those companies work too. It's a big deal because that means that your typical $100 worth of grocery has gone up to $103.5 and if that's only in a month which most of the time, how they measure the inflation rate, that would be around 42% in annual so basically your typical payment for a $100 grocery is now worth $142 unlike if it's kept around 2% which would be around 24% and not to mention that it's a big deal because there's no annual increase in the wages of workers which leads to less food for the table because they can't afford the other things since it's gone up in prices, I'm not sure that my math is right though but if it is then you can understand why it worries some folks.

In any case, Bitcoin is holding on really well, 5% up over the last week, without the Fed decreasing their rates. That's perhaps another proof that Bitcoin has a life of its own, independent of the stock market, fiat policies and other important things of the global economy.
Or it could be because the retail investors and the whales don't see this time as the right one to sell their bitcoins as investors are the ones that are dictating the pace of the market.
177  Economy / Economics / Re: Play to earn model vs move to earn model. on: April 12, 2024, 02:45:12 AM
They both got their own benefits but I'm not going to lie, it's really difficult to make money because they're all taking a lot of efforts to do and the rewards that they give is somewhat not that worth the effort, sure there's some outliers that did made some people a lot of profit but we have to understand that there's not a lot of these outliers out there and most of these projects that do this kind of thing aren't really good with doing follow ups that would lead them to something better, the worst thing too is there's probably a lot of these projects that are a rugpull scheme that doesn't benefit the new players.
178  Other / Meta / Re: AI generated content by newbies on: April 11, 2024, 11:36:36 PM
Here on the forum I find it difficult to implement this, perhaps some user can create a script to facilitate verification and then anyone who wants can join the script... I also don't know if this is easy or if it is possible to create

As things stand, there will come a point where fighting the AI will be like trying to dry ice with a cloth... A never-ending fight, unfortunately
Different people that only have Telegram or this forum as their only means of connection would probably have a difficult time piecing a code together and it's difficult to adapt to how someone does their code compared to yours, maybe it's not that difficult to adopt because people use Stackoverflow to improve their codes and find what's wrong in their own codes. In regards to fighting AI-generated content, as AI improves, so does the AI detection contents, which means that we can never be too worried that people will try to be sneaky and create an AI-content that would get unnoticed, maybe in this instance of AI-content that's posted, we just got so used to people quickly reporting these types of posts that we thought none would get past us.
179  Other / Meta / Re: Option to Allow / Restrict merits on the OP Posts on: April 11, 2024, 03:10:29 PM
You've said it yourself that there's not much use case so I'm not really buying that idea if you don't have any confidence in it plus there's so much merits to go around anyway, I don't think that we're going to be losing so much if we let things be, there's some things that are better left alone and it's definitely on of these things, people that deserve the merits should get the merits that they deserve, it's how you show an approval on what that person has to say, nothing wrong with doing that and it's not like everyone hoards their merits, they'll give it away when there's someone that will post something and they do deserve it.

It's also an indicator for the usefulness of the post and a way to gratify yourself that you've done something good.
180  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many times all-in save your bankroll? on: April 10, 2024, 05:15:10 PM
Haven't even done it before because I know how stupid (in my opinion) it would be to do it given that it's already my last leg, why would I just go all-in on a whim? It's impractical and not a good idea since I know it's going to make my game shorter and it's probably going to be unsatisfactory to me to do it anyway even if you win. Good for you though that you're winning it all back given it's a risky thing to do, I guess I'm not so reliant on my luck that I'm not doing it, whenever I try to win, I just take it easy and grow it slowly but surely, this way, I can enjoy the game even more and I'm having more fun.
