141  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Good bitcoin security starts with strong PC and mobile device security on: April 06, 2024, 06:09:07 AM
For the people that still installs other security apps on their computers, it would never make any difference because hackers have a way of bypassing them no matter how secure it is, most of the time they're not enough, probably the only thing that you can do is to prevent because once you've been hacked, it's already too late and if you're not a tech savvy yourself, it's futile to race against them anyway. Definitely helpful to have a strong computer and security in the first place, maybe not clicking on suspicious links would help you even more because you're preventing them any chances of entry.
142  Economy / Economics / Re: Irresponsible spenders consumes their retirement resources and losses values. on: April 05, 2024, 04:31:47 PM
If you look at it, there is no shortage of such people in our society.  There are many people who spend uncontrollably and do not care about their families at all.  It is very sad that a person who earns but does not take his family seriously and does not care.  I know other family members of such people are not happy at all.  Because this one person is enough for their mental suffering.  They don't care where they will get the money if there is any big danger in the future.  Where will the money for their treatment come from if they suffer a major accident?  There is no use in understanding them.  Because they usually don't listen to others.
Can't blame them, a lot of people that have been born into this world always lacking of their desire will always end up having to make the most reckless decisions because they're the ones that got deprived of things that they wanted but they don't have the money to satisfy that desire and so the moment that they're making money, they start losing control over how they spend their money which leads to them becoming irresponsible, one thing that could help solve this problem is probably the effort of teaching more people about financial responsibility, it may not prevent the reckless spending from totally happening but at the least, people are going to be aware that whatever they're doing is wrong and they know that it's time to change for the better.
143  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you advise a friend in the same way? on: April 05, 2024, 03:34:50 PM
Definitely wrong, I think that you shouldn't have given that person any idea of risking that amount of money to bitcoin, you've said that he's taking over a business which means that he's going to need any money that he can get to make sure that he's not going to have any problems with the business, the best thing that you should've done was to tell your friend to invest not the money for the business but his personal money, that way, the business will thrive without the risk of falling apart because of the lack of funds. Also, depending on how the business is structured, that could count as an embezzlement since that can be considered a misappropriation of funds for the business.
144  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Feds transferred BTC from seized Silk road wallet to Coinbase on: April 04, 2024, 11:54:54 PM
If they have 94000 coins and sell them it will be interesting to see how price goes.
There's a lot of paperwork to do this though and I'm pretty sure that most of those bitcoins from the seizure would be subjected to police auction, isn't that what they've done before with other bitcoins that they've seized from Silkroad? It's going to be cheaper when they do it in the auction though, last time that they've done it, the winner of the bid paid like half of it's worth in the market so I expect that's what's going to happen next time. The effects on prices will probably only be visible once the winner of that bid sells those bitcoins and introduces it to the circulation.
145  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Now Official Currency in Lugano: Another Milestone for Cryptocurrency on: April 04, 2024, 11:22:39 PM
Nice,  it looks like it takes more than 2 years before this to happen which i guess is enough for a authority body to decide what good and bad effect it will take to their governments. Congrats! I wonder if there are people in this forum came from that city. Feel free to share your experience there Smiley
Lugano is most likely an experiment to observe the effects of bitcoin adoption/legalization because that much freedom means they're going to have to be getting something out of it right? I really like it if there's people from there that would share their experience but I don't think that it's happening real early.

I don't know if it's going to get bitcoin more valuable though because the way I see it, it going to be used like a currency which isn't bad but the people that's going to be using them and seeing the value that they're giving away because they use it as a currency will probably get a second thoughts about using it that way, I just hope that it won't be the case but given the value, highly unlikely that they're going to use it as a currency for a long time.
146  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Richest Crypto And Bitcoin Billionaires In The World 2024 on: April 04, 2024, 02:50:15 PM
Isn't? Man, it's 33 billion dollars left. But we probably need to put this into normal people's perspective.

Imagine if you have 37 thousand dollars ($37,000). But you are hit with a $4000 fine or some other kind of unforseeen expense, which is very common to happen at least once to people, that's going to leave you with 33,000 dollars left, and if there is no cashflow to replace that lost $4000 quickly, then you are not going to recover that.

Losing money is a big deal to everyone, it's why you have super rich people complaining about losing lots of money on social media.
An apt comparison but the perspective switch doesn't really hit the home run for me at the least. Especially at the part that you've mentioned about no immediate cashflow, that's not a problem that would be evident with CZ, his billions is probably enough to keep him alive for a lifetime and then again 5 times in a row without the need to work. I can agree that losing money is a big deal but got to understand though, it's not really our position to feel bad about CZ paying those fines because he'll probably be able to make it back in a year probably, most of that networth is investments anyway, so there's a guarantee that he'll be able to make it back with those investments.
147  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [LEARN] Bitcoin History 2008 to 2016 [Link Inside!] on: April 03, 2024, 05:39:41 AM
Congratulations on this work, I'm planning to read it but there's these things irl that I've got to focus on that makes me not sure that I'd be able to do it, I might donate someday soon but not right now given that I have some needs, I will link this book to my crypto groups outside the forum though, helps that you're getting more visibility.
148  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has BTC really become more attractive than gold? on: April 03, 2024, 04:46:41 AM
I don't think it is close to being more popular than gold, think about this, even though bitcoin's got a lot of press and online presence, the thousand year history of gold is still the biggest factor as to why bitcoin can't defeat gold in terms of popularity or attractiveness as an investment, my reasoning for this is because if you ever ask someone that has no idea about bitcoin or probably got some idea what bitcoin is but they didn't care about investing in it, they'd choose to invest or take the gold instead of bitcoin 10 times out of 10. Some might say that I'm wrong but you can probably test it out and people would choose gold over bitcoin even if you tell them that bitcoin's got more potential in growth.

I am the only one in my family who chose bitcoin, my parents, my wife, aunts and uncles they all chose gold and real estate, even though they knew very well I made a lot of money investing in it.

Yes, you are right, we should not deny that bitcoin will not be more popular than gold and still cannot surpass gold in some aspect. Gold is still considered the safest option to date and is sometimes preferred over real estate. We cannot yet confirm whether bitcoin will beat gold in popularity in the future, but for now, bitcoin is still far behind gold in popularity.
See what I'm getting at, gold's still the popular choice among the people that aren't into bitcoin even if they know about it, they care about the fact that there's some stability in value rather than the potential profit from investing in it. It's not really a bad idea though and you can't really blame them, some people just don't want to risk in something volatile, just leave them be and let yourself enjoy the profit and benefits of having a bitcoin.
149  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Networking of Bitcoin and bringing Investors onboard is succeeded by testimonies on: April 03, 2024, 03:55:37 AM
What a really cool story, from being a housewife to becoming a boss of their own company, what's the name of the company so we can check them out at the least, got me curious into trying to be a client for them or something like that, unless of course it's not a good idea for you OP? I just like the idea that this friend you've got and I want to learn more. Really goes to show how powerful it is to be when you're sharing your knowledge to people that are eager to listen, never in my life would that kind of thing ever change for me, knowledge will always be a power for everyone.
150  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 🔥 Bitcoin Buy and Hold 👑 on: April 03, 2024, 03:06:45 AM
I can't understand, 5 months ago you've posted and then you're saying that you've been into Bitcoin for 5 years? And with all the words, you keep on saying about "addicted". You probably are a heavy gambler and you're now transitioning into Bitcoin investing which is better on your situation. Well, I commend you if you've gained from investing in Bitcoin because not many gets into it and they try to look only at it as short term. If you're trying to trade Bitcoin, be careful because it's better to accumulate and hold than to trade.
I think it's his friend that's addicted to gambling and they've both started in bitcoin at the same time, I think that's what I'm getting at in this post. If OP was able to make a decent profit out of the 100 USD that he has started off of, I think that OP is already careful about his investment, that kind of profit doesn't really scream recklessness so carelessness is definitely out of OP's mind and to you OP, I hope you're going to get more profit in the near future, no big losses may come to you and hopefully you'll enjoy your trading journey with even more profits.
151  Economy / Economics / Re: eNaira launched in Nigeria as a digital currency on: April 03, 2024, 02:11:16 AM
What I can see in this is story is the same thing as Digital Yuan and any other electronic cash that's developed by the government, they're not going to be more valuable than what the government allows them to be, they're akin to just having your own fiat but it's in digital form, this is just another form of control for the government so the people don't have to invest in any other cryptocurrency out there, don't let the smiles of the people that have created and approved of this, CBDC is never going to be successful, governments have tried to do that before and they've never been faced with any success, just stick to bitcoin.
152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DO NOT BRAG ABOUT YOUR BITCOIN on: April 02, 2024, 04:33:21 PM
While I agree that everybody should just keep to themselves how much Bitcoin they own, if somebody is held at gunpoint or at knifepoint, it doesn't anymore matter which wallet you're using, or whether it is multi-sig or not, or whether you have a copy of your seed phrase or some other backup. It's either your life or you cough up those information.

Perhaps it will help if your coins are stored in different wallets. If such a thing happens, God forbid, you will give the information of only one wallet.
If that's really the case that someone's going to ask that from you at a stick up, then it's going to be easy for you to pinpoint who's taking shots at your bitcoin stash, this only works when you're quite about your bitcoin investments though so keep that in mind. Now, as I've just said, it's going to be logical to think that these thieves/muggers are after your bitcoin because someone's paid them to do so, that's the only reason and most of the time, muggers want quick cash and most of them are on the room temperature IQ so holding a bitcoin hodler at gunpoint isn't really their best option so yes, give it up when they ask for it but in the case that you'll survive that traumatic encounter, it's probably for the best that you start doing some investigations, people that have this diabolic intentions are stupid to some level anyway so a little bit of tracking in the blockchain of your stolen funds, you'd be able to find out who's the person behind.
153  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Anyone +18 Play Gamble? on: April 02, 2024, 03:51:31 PM
I don’t think, experience is a factor that should be considered before letting someone gamble as I think, experience can be gotten more easily from gambling in person.
I think 18 years is the global age of maturity as that’s why it is always stated to be 18 years and above because at this age, one should be matured enough to make decisions in its own and be able to bear the consequences of their actions.
With the availability of online casinos, especially the non KYC casinos, a lot of under aged are already getting in the gambling space and I think there is nothing the casino can do about that and that’s why their is always a bold banner to warn underaged that only 18+ are expected to gamble.
This is probably the only answer to this question that OP's asking about, there's no way that there's any other answer to this question. In fact this answer has been said in different ways and different words with different post styling so there's no way that we can twist it around. Maybe the only discussion here is the moral impact and implications of setting 18 as the legal age to be gambling when we all know that the moment that you start gambling at such an early age and with 18 still a bit young and definitely have an emotional imbalances left, I think that they're setting up people at that age to be a miserable gambling addict, no two ways about it.
154  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Streamer's fan took his own life due to addiction on: April 02, 2024, 03:12:18 PM
What a shame, as much as there's a small part of the blame involved in the person that just died because of addiction, I think that it's important that we also address this issue with irresponsible influencers, I don't think that people that don't have the mental faculty and capability to be a role model to their audiences should be allowed to stream because let's face it, kids and people that have no self-control and susceptible to idolatry are going to tune in to your stream and you may not see it as a streamer but you've got to understand that there's a lot of people out there with different behaviors and you might be the reason why they're into something, you won't be called an influencer for nothing, even if that word's associated with retarded clout chasers, you still have to remember that people idolize you so if they've done something heinous and they call you out as an idol or inspiration to that thing that they've done, you're partially responsible.
155  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The most logical and profitable game on: April 02, 2024, 01:43:32 PM
You play a skilled base games, you think you can use your skills to win, and since there are a lot of skilled based games, you can choose one that suit your skills, and just focus on it. As for me, I find sports betting very suitable for me because I am personally a fan of sport that's why I'm confident that I will get something like a certain achievemen in the future, and that is being profitable.
If it's still gambling then skill don't really mean anything because you've still got odds to consider, if you've got a bad card in poker, skill in bluffing alone won't help you, you're going to use some logic too, if it's a bad hand then you'll know not to play with it even if you think that your skill to get away with a bluff. Being a fan of sport don't mean that you've got a skill though, my neighbor is an avid fan of basketball but he's the fattest person I've ever seen, I doubt that he can even run. When it comes to gambling, skill is just the other half, the second half is at the mercy of mathematics.
156  Economy / Economics / Re: How to reduce inflation. on: April 02, 2024, 11:39:00 AM
Even if you do all that shit (given that they're good and logical thing to do) if you're country constantly prints money so they can spend more for their overpriced projects, you will still be experiencing inflation and the things that you'd get would always be the same, you might be able to survive even just a little but you got to understand that your money will never be worth more since it's value keeps reducing while the price of goods and services keep going up, combating inflation without the initiative of the government or even aid from them, it's going to be useless, unless of course everyone does those stuff but that's being dreamy and too much of an optimist, we all know not everyone will be able to do that and commit to it to make sure that they're making any difference, some people will have a hard time.
157  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is lack of proof a problem for you or not? on: April 01, 2024, 11:47:35 PM
We all know here that there are ways to verify the authenticity of a license, the casino will not put its reputation in trouble just by faking the certificate and trying to fool the community.
I love the optimism but you don't have the depth of understanding how malicious a person can be just to make money, people are faking a lot of things every now and then, what's a fake license to them but just another gig to prey upon innocent people. Picture this, if you're that person that owns an illegal(unlicensed) casino and you can get away with it, you'd be doing all the work to make sure you make the most out of it right? Pretty sure that you're going to be doing that, no way that you'd just let that kind of thing slide.

Lack of proof is definitely a red flag for me in a casino but it's difficult to not show your license as a casino because some of the players would be asking and most of the time it's easy to show it in your FAQ or About page so not showing them is a bit counterintuitive to do so.
158  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The person who can’t control emotions in gambling will never earn money from it on: April 01, 2024, 03:36:03 PM
That's not the goal of gambling anyway, you don't gamble to make money even if that's the truth, and it's not going to do you any good if you can control your emotions, the odds will never change just because you've got a harness on your discipline, that's not how things work, math doesn't care about your emotions and it's always constant. Sure, keeping a cool head can help you out and get more chances of winning but you got to remember that it's not going to help you in the grand scheme of things, it may up your chances since you're able to think more clearly but that's it, don't use your ability to control your emotions as an excuse that you'd be able to make a profit in gambling, never ever see this as an advice to gamble even more, in fact this sounds more like an enabling people to gamble even more albeit in a delicate but reckless manner.
159  Economy / Economics / Re: How is it that these actions are yielding opposite results? on: March 31, 2024, 11:36:27 AM
I'm not an economist so whatever I infer from the situation, I'm talking out of my behind. From what I can read of the reason why, they probably still do some kind of socialist programs like free college tuition and healthcare and those stuff can get really expensive and so they need more tax for those. Another reason that can be a trigger to this problem is that they're importing more than they're exporting, that's bound to happen to a country because instead of getting more USD to buy more stuff, they're bleeding out of USD due to more imports. Reforms like what's been implemented now don't exactly show results the moment you enforce them, it takes time so maybe we're a little too early to see what's really going to happen.
160  Other / Off-topic / Re: Before you start gambling, do some research first on: March 30, 2024, 09:26:11 AM
That's really needed; don't just put money in right away, because maybe later it turns out that gambling is not legal when you put money in to gamble and play. That's why you always need to do your own research.

So that we can give value to the money we gamble, although we gamblers have different reasons why we play gambling. Because when we do this, we are only showing that we are responsible gamblers.
That's the obvious thing that you should do, I mean in any aspect of your life, you should do research on things before you do something about it so you don't fuck it up, ignorance may be a bliss but it shouldn't become your personality, that's just a sad thing if that's the case. A lot of things would've been resolved easily or mistakes prevented if our ignorance isn't there to hinder us. Gamblers would also be more happier with their life if they've done their research on the games before trying that gambling game that they have no clue how it works.
