181  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop adding features to Bitcoin that don't facilitate its use as electronic cash on: March 19, 2024, 04:38:47 AM
Ordinals, Runes and anything that is decreasing the efficiency of the network while increasing fees. The purpose of the network is to provide a "peer-to-peer electronic cash" system.  Anything that is not directly related to this mission should not be in the code.
This I can totally agree, these feature shouldn't be a thing in the first place but we've got a lot of those fuckers that want to do stupid and useless stuff in bitcoin and so we end up with this, the transaction fees are just not that tolerable for some in my opinion, some people that I know personally that have bitcoins, would risk putting their bitcoins in a centralized exchange just so they don't have to worry too much about transaction fees in the case that bitcoin goes up in price and they want to take profit.

There's already a solution to ordinals and inscriptions if I recall but the devs aren't putting it yet because with higher transaction fees, miners are making more money.
182  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Soo, bitcoin is now over 70K on: March 18, 2024, 02:34:42 PM
Well, that's the consequence of putting your money somewhere that's not you that's in control. This is probably the very manifestation of the phrase, "not your keys, not your coins." I know that it's such a sad affair for OP right now but you'll have to remember that you can probably file for the stolen bitcoins because there's definitely a lot of people that's going to be filing for claims and they're not going to be backing down without getting anything back from SBF, I hope that while the justice system deals with them, you'd be able to get your money back.

May let this be a lesson for everyone that if this can happen to OP, it can probably happen to you. Just put your coins to your own wallet, it's not that difficult to have your own wallet and store it, don't mind the transaction fees because it's inevitable that you're going to encounter them no matter how much you avoid them.
183  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Man bet his life savings on 1 spin of Roulette on: March 17, 2024, 09:05:59 AM
He has been very lucky, but people shouldn't try to imitate him because they can lose everything dy boing that and litteraly go bankrupt
That's the moral of this story, just because they can do it doesn't mean that you can, we all got different strokes of luck in us and this man just so happens is the kind of person that's got the God's favor and his gamble paid off. It's also not recommended to do this no matter how lucky you're feeling right now because when the results finally show, that's what matters the most and at the end of the day, you're going to be the one regretting that decision.

It's kind of awesome and crazy how he's able to pull of this kind of stupidity because when you look at it, it's risky to the highest degree since he's betting his life savings in one spin, my guess is that this guy has something hideous planned after that roulette in the case that he loses, that's the action that's most notable when it comes to people that have nothing to lose anymore. Maybe in a way, betting his life savings did made him a man with nothing to lose.
184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypo Casino Virtual Scatch Offs - Idea on: March 17, 2024, 05:43:55 AM
It's not a popular thing anyway besides the game providers that @iv4n have mentioned, there's probably not a lot of them let alone one that's popular, if it's a popular gambling game, we'd probably see people talk about it but no, it seems that it's not the case. Maybe you can do something about it and try to make it a great game, build a website that's focused on that and do your advertising so more people would reach your game and would check it out.

Who knows, you might be the person that would popularize the idea of virtual scratch offs, only problem is that you need to know how to make it a fair one because you do know that you can easily cheat players in giving rigged scratch off cards since it's online.
185  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Is Legal In Our Country But if You Promote It Online You'll Go To Jail? on: March 17, 2024, 02:50:45 AM
I believe that this has to do with the fact that our country (the Philippines) is a hypocritically conservative of a country, what I mean by that is that most people in the country including the ruling class have a selective values and Christian morals that they're being used.

Another reason that I believe why this is a thing here is probably because the government don't want you to be competing with them when it comes to gambling business, that's the reason why they've got so much lottery outlets especially in poor neighborhoods is because gambling business is so profitable that they can't afford to have a competition but since they can't outright ban businessmen from making their own gambling business since doing so would make them a hypocrite all over again, they do the oppression as subtle as possible, and they do that by using that law that you've mentioned, with less people knowing about gambling and those businesses, the smaller the option is, which means that they're going to be able to see only the ones that are promoted by the government.

The second reason why I think that they're doing this is just a conspiracy theory of mine, might make sense to me but not to everyone as there's probably holes in my theory that might refute it though.
186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we avoid crypto taxes with other users assistance? on: March 16, 2024, 11:57:18 PM
this is where i see alot of people want to EVADE taxes.. but they need to learn how taxes work.. to then learn the tax avoidance loopholes

tax avoidance is using the tax laws toy your benefit and its legal
tax evasion is breaking tax laws which come with repercussions because its not legal

learn the loop holes your countries have in regards to tax, find the legal ways of transferring value tax free
Exactly, for my country, we don't pay taxes or file an income tax return as long as our income don't go higher than or triple if not quadruple the minimum wage which is pretty low but if you're not going to have that problem with your salary, taxation is pretty lax in the country, I have a friend that doesn't pay the taxes but he's got the money to be able to buy a house and some luxury car but there's no taxes that he's talked about. I think that the moment that your bank account is seeing a lot of activities that involves large amounts of money, that's probably the time that the BIR (IRS of my country) will do some probing but so far, it's going smoothly for everyone of us.

To OP, I'm saying this with objective purpose of answering you, no other reason. Yes you can have an assistance but the caveat here is you're going to need a friend that you can really trust through thick and thin because when you do this, you're going to relinquish control of your money at some point in the process and if that friend isn't trustworthy, you're going to get scammed or duped by that friend, always remember that money can make someone do unthinkable things and break friendships, it's just a matter of amount that they're going to betray you.
187  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is really unexpected on: March 16, 2024, 05:25:57 PM
Hey, congratulations on your win, it's not everyday that you're going to see people get lucky and make the proverbial middle finger to the rigged gambling system, I guess sometimes the house isn't the one winning and considering how much money you've lost in the past with this habit, it's probably safe to say that you deserve that guitar that you've bought, at the least you've got something that gambling won't take away from you (unless of course you become an addict). You've also got the most apt title for this thread too, I click on it expecting it to be some stupid ass statement about the randomness in gambling without the necessary examples but it's a pleasant surprise, it's not that way and it's a good thing.
188  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Scratch Offs on: March 16, 2024, 04:45:14 PM
Haven't played that in a long time so I can't remember how much I've won but I do know how my lock works when it comes to scratch off tickets, not that good and I know that it's going to be a cascading effect the moment that I decide to buy more tickets to try and get a win is going to be a really bad headache for me and it's going to be the start of an addiction, I know that the first time that you've played consecutively in a day won't make you an addict but I'm telling you that it only takes one day before you would become an addict, it's an all too common story, one try and then you wouldn't notice it, you got addicted to it.

I really like the concept of an online gambling that involves scratch off tickets but I can picture how boring it's going to be when it does happen though, I don't think that it will be consistently popular but it's definitely going to gain curious eyes to try it out, isn't this thing already done in Gacha games?
189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Exit strategy BTC cash out (or any other crypto) without pay capital gains taxes on: March 15, 2024, 11:40:59 PM
Idea 2 is my to go exit strategy but then there's taxes and I think that with your options of ideas that you've presented, it's probably a good assumption that you don't want to pay your taxes or you're evading some people in your life and you don't want them to know that you're going to make money in crypto or maybe even know how you made it. Idea 3 is a little too much unless it's a necessary thing to do, unless there's a threat to your life or you're being chased or will be chased as a fugitive, that's going to be your option. I don't think there's a lot of countries that would have what you're looking for when it comes to no taxation, if you want to pursue the third idea, you're gonna need to love the sun because most of them are probably tropical countries that make money on tourism to sustain their no taxation policies in some parts of living in their country.
190  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying/Selling & Using Bitcoin in El Salvador. on: March 15, 2024, 11:02:39 PM
The fact that bitcoin is Legal tender is forced all companies to accept them to settle payments, they may argue that they do not have devices to accept bitcoin, but in theory, there must be places that accepts bitcoin in any city you visit in El Salvador at the least hotels and destinations that tourists visit.
That should be the way I think, if you want to adopt bitcoin as a legal tender, you don't just say that it's a legal tender and go your own merry way because people need conditioning and there's times that they don't work the way that we want them to work. I think El Salvador putting some pressure into adoption of bitcoin in the country is a good thing because that way, people would know and when people know, they'll get curious and with more curious people, you'll probably going to see more people that will try and invest in bitcoin, of course that is if they did their research.

Hotels may sell bitcoin for dollars and rarely keep them.
They're a business and they need to pay the upkeep costs for maintaining the hotel and wouldn't this be better for the market, bitcoin being constantly moved around?
191  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the dip people!!! Could be last chance for prices this low on: March 15, 2024, 04:47:18 PM
Don't be too hasty, as much as I agree with what @thecodebear is saying, it's not a good idea to put your money all in into the dip because it's still a high price and you don't want to miss out on the potential that you're going to be buying more bitcoin when the price continues to go down and the correction get more deeper than many would expect. It's also, not yet halving so I don't believe that you're missing out in profit because it's most likely that we're going to see the price going down in the future and I don't believe the pump will just go back and continue to make bitcoin more expensive for everyone, my point is that if you're having some feeling of wanting to buy right now because there's a potential that you're going to be missing out on profit, you're not going to miss out and the price will eventually get lower.

This is still a buying opportunity though, it's not going to make you a lot of value but it will make you profit when it comes doing long-term hodling, DCA (Dollar Cost Averaging) is going to your biggest help in this kind of situation
192  Economy / Economics / Re: Btc new oil for USA on: March 15, 2024, 04:00:11 PM
I'm so tired of bitcoin being compared to all these commodities, we're already calling it a digital gold, now someone's saying it's oil because the US is trying to get their hands on the market, when will bitcoin become it's own thing and not just being compared or a better version of an investment or product that's not even remotely related to what bitcoin does, it's just tiring that to insert these metaphors, we always think of things that don't even make sense. Make this post make sense.

In regards to the reason why people are buying bitcoin, it's not the war, it's definitely the current price pump that's making all of this happen, people are feeling that FOMO fever again and these phenomenon repeats almost at a cycle, the difference is that in the background, there's some other significant event happening that's affecting the whole world and we think that it also affects the bitcoin market too when it's our reaction to that background phenomenon that's causing the market movements.
193  Economy / Economics / Re: DEVELOPMENT CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS on: March 15, 2024, 03:26:48 PM
It's not really fair to use $1.90 per day as a standard to judge someone is poor because each country has a different currency, minimum income and living cost. $1.90 per day in first world country is definitely a poor, but for third world country, such amount might be normal for them because they can still live with $1.90 per day.
I think that it's enough to be considered because if we complicate things just to suit it with other countries' living cost per day, you'll either get a number that close or it's going to be even lower just to do an average. I don't agree with an assessment that someone's "living" at that amount, they could probably buy a meal for only once with that money in my opinion, we all talk about inflation nowadays and it's not far fetch to say that that amount isn't a lot of money, it's not the 1800s anymore where that dollar and 90 cents can get you to 2 days, inflation has happened baby!!!

It's not "living" if you can only spend $1.90 a day, that's fuckin' surviving in hardcore mode.

It's also preposterous of us to divert from topic about finding a solution about poverty, the discussion was supposed to be about how can we alleviate the problems that those in the poverty line are facing, it's not a matter of what amount is considered poor or not because if that local currency's converted to dollar, it's still going to $1.90.

In regards to solution for poverty, US can easily end the poverty and housing problem in their country by getting a small chunk off their military budget and allocating it to the stuff that needs the money. If we're talking in global scale, international cooperations between nations that have an altruistic intentions is the best way to go, no politics, no corruption, just pure and unadulterated altruism to help the poor.
194  Economy / Economics / Re: China India tensions on impact to Global economy possible china India war on: March 13, 2024, 10:26:58 PM
India and China have never had an issue of war. be it a military war or an economic war. they are fine and India has never been intervened by the USA. and it's just you who wrote that statement. if the economic war between the USA and China is really happening. but if China and India there has never been news in the mass media both print and online that discusses this. and if the war happens there is no effect on the price of bitcoin. when US and china tensions were at their peak there was no effect on the price of bitcoin.
You're naive to say that then because they've got a border tension back in 2022 if I recall and you don't know China fully then to say that they've got not issue with India because as far as I know, China is fighting against all of their neighbors with border disputes, saying that history is on their side and that they're just reclaiming what they're culturally deserving of, which is in most cases territory that seems to overlap with other countries' borders. But aside all that, India won't be going in an all-out war with China though, it's got it's hands full with Pakistan ready to make the move anytime India makes a move that would tip the balance of the scales.
195  Economy / Economics / Re: Hardship as a global problem on: March 13, 2024, 05:46:36 PM
Suffering as a global problem is everywhere in all countries and it is very difficult for people to deal with it. These are becoming more serious problems due to economic recession when nations are united. The best way would be to focus on your work and solve the problem. It can be good to invest there is no corruption here. Good investments will help change lives.
It's not difficult as many think it is, if everyone actually starts caring about the well-being of other people and we start to be aware that politicians should serve the interest of the masses and not their own, we'd actually cut down the suffering that many people are feeling by half if not one third of all that suffering, job security, education, UBI (universal basic income), housing, livable wages, these stuff that I've mentioned aren't that difficult to do because there's money in every country that would be enough to do all of this but at the same time, still do all the things that they're trying to do with it.

Maybe the reason why we think that alleviating or struggling to end the suffering is a fruitless endeavor is because we're all losing something in life and that we're so content with what we all got right now that it's difficult for us to really think outside ourselves and it also makes us do difficult things and we're brainwashed that if we want to be a hero, it needs that we put our life on the line, if only people do the opposite and force the government to give us what we deserve, we'd probably be see a better future.

I still believe in people though despite my pessimism that we're not going to be able to do what needs to be done, we all probably just need an icon, an idol, a spark that would start the wildfire to drive towards change that would give us a better future and not just the politicians.
196  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin prospects on: March 13, 2024, 04:37:35 PM
For me, there's a lot of limit to the rise of bitcoin price (if that's what you're talking about) is probably from the fact that there's a limited amount of people that can afford to buy bitcoin, as the demand continues to rise, the price of bitcoin is going to get more higher which would slowly but surely make it difficult for others to buy at a certain price that would make them be satisfied with the value that they're getting for their money. Another limit that I can think of is the enthusiasm of the people for bitcoin, it's going to need a renewed enthusiasm everyday because if we ever came to that point, we'd probably see a decline in demand even though there's a lot of hodlers of bitcoin.
197  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin for the elderly homeless. on: March 12, 2024, 09:20:47 PM
If you want to achieve a complete privacy, you need to use Tor instead of VPN, VPN isn't completely mask your real locations. Bisq is the best choice for privacy, the disadvantage is just the volume.

AFAIK the only one centralized exchange that currently still allow you to deposit and withdraw (temporary) without KYC is MEXC, make sure you didn't trade a lot.

Your life makes me remember with OutdoorBoys, sometime I watched his videos and it's really interesting to life in nature!
You can further upgrade that by not just using ToR but also using Arch Linux, then set up your own virtual machine which I think you can set in any of geo location so you're not that easily tracked, ToR is definitely a useful and @Jet Cash can probably benefit from having a device that he can connect to the Internet anytime anywhere and it's much safer, that's what I've heard Starlink does but I'm not sure there's others out there yet that does the same thing so considering that might be helpful.

To @Jet Cash, will you be planning to settle anytime soon? Or are you waiting for the market to crash so you can buy a property?
198  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: March 12, 2024, 08:03:38 PM
If we're talking about how animal Mike Tyson is back then, I'd say that he's got a high chance of defeating Jake Paul but then again he's old so we'll have to factor in that immutable fact that he's not going to be as strong as he is back then, he's like an old tiger, he can still definitely kill you but it's already close to death's door and it's easily tired out so in this match it's likely that Jake Paul will just do some evasive maneuvers to tire out Mike and either that would go in his favor or Mike will do something about it since he's more experienced and he knows how to deal with it one way or another (Tyson v. Holyfield).

Has this been accepted by both parties though like did they do an agreement already or something like that? It seems kind of odd to me that there's not much press in this fight as this like an exhibition match right?
199  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which of these betting Statements Do you Agree or Disagree With? on: March 12, 2024, 03:45:30 PM
1. Don't bet all your money on one bet.
2. Bet the same amount on every bet.
3. Don't bet more than once a day.
4. Don't bet every day.
I can agree with 1, 2, and 4, they're obvious things that you should do after all, they're like the basic facts and it's weird if you ever answer differently on this 3 statements because either you're addicted or you've got a really twisted view on reality when it comes to gambling, maybe I can forgive a disagree on number 2 but that's debatable.

Now that's out of the way, number 3 is kind of a disagree for me because there's probably more games there in a day and if we assume you're betting the same amount daily, that means that you've got the funds to do so without any worries that you'd go overboard, betting more than once is good enough in my opinion since it's probably not enough for someone to bet on only one game per day especially if they're not gambling daily.
200  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Get one btc right away or 5 btc with a bet? on: March 12, 2024, 03:03:02 PM
It's a gamble anyway, I'd just take the 1 btc, it's not like I'm going to lose a lot of money if I don't take the risk, bitcoin is bitcoin and if the alternative to the game is that I'd take nothing if I lose, and I know that there's a chance that I can take it away without consequences, I'd just take the bitcoin and thank that person. As much as anyone can always argue that risking that 1 bitcoin would be a good trade since the risk is 2 to 1 but still, it's like 50/50, if maybe the odds would be in my favor like 70/30 or 80/20, that's the time that I wouldn't think anything other than taking the risk because I know that I'm going to definitely win.

This is a really good question, really makes you sift out who's crazy and who's not, who's the risk takers and who plays it safe. Seems that I'm on the not so insane play safe side.
