61  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does trading belongs to everyone? on: April 12, 2024, 04:54:12 PM
I think what you're trying to say is if trading is for everyone and if that's what you're trying to say then my take is that it's for everyone but the risk and losses accumulated isn't for everyone, anyone can trade but the wins are a different thing. That's why you still got people talking about how they could've done something different in regards to how they've done their trades or that they could've made some kind of research before jumping right into trading because trading is for every person but whether they win or lose at their trades, it's entirely up to them what they're going to get.
62  Economy / Economics / Re: April 10 CPI Print came in hot on: April 12, 2024, 03:50:54 PM
I don't live in the US, and I don't feel the impact of the US monetary policies. As someone from a developing low-income country, I find it hard to understand how a 3.5% increase in the consumer price index is a big deal, and how inflation below 5% can be considered bad because it doesn't meet the target 2%. These are such small numbers to me, and yet people in some other countries pay a lot of attention to them.
Given the influence that US have on different countries, I'm sure that you'll feel it one way or another, of that I'm sure. They've got almost all of the global brands right? Which means that most of the country's policy would affect those companies and in extension, also the satellite braches on the countries that have those companies work too. It's a big deal because that means that your typical $100 worth of grocery has gone up to $103.5 and if that's only in a month which most of the time, how they measure the inflation rate, that would be around 42% in annual so basically your typical payment for a $100 grocery is now worth $142 unlike if it's kept around 2% which would be around 24% and not to mention that it's a big deal because there's no annual increase in the wages of workers which leads to less food for the table because they can't afford the other things since it's gone up in prices, I'm not sure that my math is right though but if it is then you can understand why it worries some folks.

In any case, Bitcoin is holding on really well, 5% up over the last week, without the Fed decreasing their rates. That's perhaps another proof that Bitcoin has a life of its own, independent of the stock market, fiat policies and other important things of the global economy.
Or it could be because the retail investors and the whales don't see this time as the right one to sell their bitcoins as investors are the ones that are dictating the pace of the market.
63  Economy / Economics / Re: Play to earn model vs move to earn model. on: April 12, 2024, 02:45:12 AM
They both got their own benefits but I'm not going to lie, it's really difficult to make money because they're all taking a lot of efforts to do and the rewards that they give is somewhat not that worth the effort, sure there's some outliers that did made some people a lot of profit but we have to understand that there's not a lot of these outliers out there and most of these projects that do this kind of thing aren't really good with doing follow ups that would lead them to something better, the worst thing too is there's probably a lot of these projects that are a rugpull scheme that doesn't benefit the new players.
64  Other / Meta / Re: AI generated content by newbies on: April 11, 2024, 11:36:36 PM
Here on the forum I find it difficult to implement this, perhaps some user can create a script to facilitate verification and then anyone who wants can join the script... I also don't know if this is easy or if it is possible to create

As things stand, there will come a point where fighting the AI will be like trying to dry ice with a cloth... A never-ending fight, unfortunately
Different people that only have Telegram or this forum as their only means of connection would probably have a difficult time piecing a code together and it's difficult to adapt to how someone does their code compared to yours, maybe it's not that difficult to adopt because people use Stackoverflow to improve their codes and find what's wrong in their own codes. In regards to fighting AI-generated content, as AI improves, so does the AI detection contents, which means that we can never be too worried that people will try to be sneaky and create an AI-content that would get unnoticed, maybe in this instance of AI-content that's posted, we just got so used to people quickly reporting these types of posts that we thought none would get past us.
65  Other / Meta / Re: Option to Allow / Restrict merits on the OP Posts on: April 11, 2024, 03:10:29 PM
You've said it yourself that there's not much use case so I'm not really buying that idea if you don't have any confidence in it plus there's so much merits to go around anyway, I don't think that we're going to be losing so much if we let things be, there's some things that are better left alone and it's definitely on of these things, people that deserve the merits should get the merits that they deserve, it's how you show an approval on what that person has to say, nothing wrong with doing that and it's not like everyone hoards their merits, they'll give it away when there's someone that will post something and they do deserve it.

It's also an indicator for the usefulness of the post and a way to gratify yourself that you've done something good.
66  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many times all-in save your bankroll? on: April 10, 2024, 05:15:10 PM
Haven't even done it before because I know how stupid (in my opinion) it would be to do it given that it's already my last leg, why would I just go all-in on a whim? It's impractical and not a good idea since I know it's going to make my game shorter and it's probably going to be unsatisfactory to me to do it anyway even if you win. Good for you though that you're winning it all back given it's a risky thing to do, I guess I'm not so reliant on my luck that I'm not doing it, whenever I try to win, I just take it easy and grow it slowly but surely, this way, I can enjoy the game even more and I'm having more fun.
67  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it right to advice other people against gambling for personal reasons like?? on: April 09, 2024, 10:50:58 AM
Do you guys think it's OK to advice other gamblers to quit gambling simply because of your own bad experience, does your bad experience mean that every other gambler out there will also have the same bad experience?
It's definitely okay because you're basically a living and in flesh example of what gambling can do to someone's life, I mean that's how I see it and that's why I believe that it's alright to give out advice. Regarding bad experience, I can't recall any experience that I can share that would amount to any kind lesson that would be profound so I'm not keen on sharing any.
68  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the highest amount of money you've ever bet in a single game? on: April 09, 2024, 09:23:29 AM
I cant remember the sportsbook and also I have forgotten about dice (the highest amount if bet) but I can remember the roulet where I placed a bet of 3000$ each where I lost a few and won a few. Though the number of losses was higher than the profit. I think my loss amount was about 30000$. Yes, I was able to afford that loss (which I was lost from my investment).
OP is talking about a single game though, which means you haven't lost about $3,000 in a single bet, albeit your loss was devastating, it's probably more devastating than the losing it in a single game because imagine the situation that lead you to that point, you've probably lost more in a single session. For me though, I'm probably not going higher that $25 in my highest bets because I've got more priorities that don't involve gambling and requires me some money so I know that I'm going to be restraining myself not to bet or gamble too much.
69  Other / Meta / Re: Is gambling problem or anything related to addiction is an off-topic? on: April 09, 2024, 02:52:41 AM
It is possible that some moderators are bored already as they see more topics to be about gambling discussion. But in my opinion, I think gambling addiction threads should be on gambling discussion. It is one if the benefits we have on the gambling discussion board for people to avoid gambling addiction.
But that's not a valid decision to do in my opinion, that's a bit too much, maybe a little call off to the people the OP of those threads to just lock them when it reaches a certain amount of pages but to move it Off-Topic because they're bored seems to make them a bad people. There's probably some other reason why it got moved to that point, maybe because it's talking about the well-being of people that's gambling instead of gambling that's led to this topic moving, maybe they qualify it as the post never had gambling as the main theme but a side theme of the topic so they've decided that it doesn't qualify to stay in the Gambling Discussion board.
70  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin the HERO we never knew we needed on: April 09, 2024, 01:43:46 AM
My question to us right now do you think Bitcoin will eventually erase the commercial banking sector???
I'm no financial expert by all means but if you think about this in a logical way, I don't think never in a million years that banking sector will ever go away, you got to understand that banking industry got a lot of powerful people on it's side and the money that's generated because of their support is so astounding and astronomical for any of us to even fathom that a threat to that industry is definitely not something that those who'd support it would let slide, why would Jamie Dimon and other banking executives that have a lot of money from the banking sector continues to berate bitcoin as a scam or something that's not worthy of their time and money? Because they see bitcoin as a threat to their jobs and with all the money and power that they've got, you're definitely going to try and do everything at your disposal to attack bitcoin and defend the survival of your obsolete and old industry that only benefits you.
71  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you depend on game predictions by supercomputers? on: April 09, 2024, 12:59:17 AM
As much as I believe that AI will be a really good technology that would help progress humanity as a species, I don't think we're at a level that AI will accurately predict what could happen and have a spot on analysis, I mean people have that goal in mind for a really long time with AI because if you can accurately or semi-accurately predict any outcome that you ask the AI to predict, you've basically got an ubiquitous technology in your hands that can help you in any aspects that you want some help of like gambling but I think that with it, we're not using AI prediction to its fullest potential, imagine being able to simulate a war scenario when you're at a war against a country, you can easily adjust your strategy depending on the results, you can probably even use AI for space travel, imagine launching a space exploration that's got an AI to do accurate reports on what's happening during their travel, the information we're going to get is going to phenomenal.

But if we really just want to focus on gambling predictions, right now it's probably going to do well with blackjack and other games that have a fixed odds because you can do card counting using AI and they'd be able to give you results that can help with your decisions but if we're talking about sportsbetting, it's probably not yet that flawless to accurately predict who will score a goal at what minute of the game or how many points would Lebron be able to get in a particular game.
72  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Story of my life on: April 08, 2024, 03:57:50 PM
I feel like in that story, you're aware that you're already slipping away OP, this is just my hunch but you're getting addicted to gambling already and what you've just posted right now, it's not the whole truth, sorry for being doubtful but this is the Internet and there's really no demerits to lying to people here right? People do it all the time to troll others. The reason why I don't believe you is that I don't think you'd be adding those compensations at the end where you're gambling only what you can afford to lose, there's no way that you're going to say this without any kind of reason right?
73  Economy / Gambling / Re: The Future of online poker - PokerFi on: April 08, 2024, 02:42:32 PM
I'm quite confused about what PokerFi is advertising because it's not the poker game itself but the ability to launch tokens, nfts, and other stuff. Why not focus on offering a different kind of game with poker or something.
That's because there's only so much that you can do that's original and not tiring in the eyes with poker, almost every casinos' probably done some kind of variation to poker so I get why they're trying hybridization with financial tools, a way to try out things that might work or might not work, the only issue that I've got with this one is that OP isn't responsive on this thread, I'm pretty sure that you need to be talking to the people that are asking questions about your services no?

76  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright Satoshi Claim Case Update on: April 07, 2024, 11:25:48 AM
his game is distancing himself..
his next stance would be that his tweets over many years were done by his employee's and not him, whereby he allowed them access to his account and nothing ever said were his words from his human self.. he just allowed them because there was no "proof" either way
(in courts its called plausible deniability/reasonable doubt)
so he can escape any criminal acts of promotin a scammer/fraudster by making suggestions his tweets were never his and he this year completely separated from the account once courts found out his tweets about CSW were lies
Distancing is probably a sound advice coming from his lawyer. But the tweets aren't going to absolve him very much because there's the lies to those people that he talked to and those aren't going to be easily dismissed that his employees did it when he's the one that's been seen. The argument about the tweets are probably just some kind of hail Mary to at least try to make the sentence a bit more shorter or at the least make it more or less that he's not guilty of all that he's been accused of, such a determination from this man to be able to do this and keep on lying when he's been debunked time and time again.
77  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Can Bitcoin save a nation that owes a lot of money / Debt on: April 07, 2024, 08:18:33 AM
I don't think so, depending on how big their debt is and I'm assuming it's going to be in the billions, they're going to need to accumulate a lot of bitcoin or maybe even invest a huge part of their national budget into bitcoin acquisition since mining after this halving might not be as profitable, with the current price of bitcoin, they need to be on the level of Microstrategy to be able to make payments for their debts and it's a hard task at hand to be honest, that the answer to the question is that it's probably not a way to save Pakistan's debts through bitcoin.
78  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's Total Market Cap Has Soared Past $1.3 Trillion on: April 07, 2024, 05:25:39 AM
That's not even the best that bitcoin can ever get, imagine about 25% of the world's population are into bitcoin or planning to invest in it, the value that we're going to see is going to be astounding and I can't even begin to fathom how high that demand would be, bitcoin's going to be way past the point where it matters what ranking it is in terms of market value against other market or company because they're going to be number 1 and the gap with the 2nd place in ranking is far too wide to matter.

Yeah but keep in mind that the higher the market cap goes, the more work it is to get the price to increase. Remeber how easy it was going from $30 to $250 and then to $1000 during 2013? Or how we went from a low of $200 all the way to $20000 within a year and a half.

Now it’s getting more and more difficult. We broke ATH but are stalling and struggling to go higher. This is what happens when market cap is high. At a price of $200, you could get retail to buy maybe 10-50 BTC.  But at a price of $70K most retail can only buy a mere fraction of a coin and hence why it’s going to be a long way to $100K.
Yes, there's more work but what I can see here is just an opportunity that you won't be missing out for too long in investment because bitcoin will take a long time before it grows, imagine those that are DCAing at a small amounts, they're going to like this the most.
79  Other / Off-topic / Re: 73-Year-Old Michigan Woman Believed She Won Over $3M but got SCAMMED for $700K on: April 06, 2024, 11:04:10 PM
The bitcoin ATM scams are bad. They even have warnings on all the bitcoin ATMs that if someone calls you and claims to be the police and you need to pay some fine in bitcoin, it’s a scam and to ignore them.
The problem with this one is this scam got a high success rate depending on how intimidating the scammer and compelling they are that they're the police or whatever person they pretend to be, that's why they target old people, they're old and they don't really have a good feel of their surroundings so it's easy to go for them if the scammers want an easy victim.
I remember a few years back when bitcoin atms were new. There was a lady at one and she was clueless how to operate it. She showed me her phone and said she needs to send this much BTC to this address, I looked and read the messages above and noticed she was getting scammed. I told her about it and she was relieved. It’s crazy how many people fall for all these scams.
There was an reply here by @blckhawk that talked about having young people around old people so they don't become victims of this scam, this is basically that scene that I'm picturing from what I've understood in that post. I guess you've just made some scammer's life a bit miserable, they thought they're about to get to paid but it seems to be not the case, I guess the risk is on them that the old victim doesn't know how to navigate the bitcoin ecosystem and you just happen to be there! Be proud that you're the bane of scammers my guy!
80  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is a best way of taking advantage of BTC dips when away? on: April 06, 2024, 05:48:31 PM
How long are you going to be away though? I think that even with an advanced trading bot that would buy for whenever the dip happens, you still need to check on it on a regular basis. I don't think there's even one that would suit what you need because it seems that you're going to be going away for a really long time. Hope that you'd find what you're looking for though and good luck because you're going to need it since there's not really a lot of these specific bots that are in here, that is even if there's one in existence. Maybe you can reconfigure the commercially available bots to your preferences since most trading bots have that feature too.
