161  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint 16TH/S halongmining.com on: March 27, 2018, 02:19:26 AM
Is a 3.47% increase in hashing power efficiency justified by paying a 53% higher price over the S9? How efficient is that? You decide.

Ahmen.

162  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Tracking down stolen Bitcoins on: March 25, 2018, 06:34:16 PM
I would love to find the bastard that stole my coins from my wallet..State Security apparatus like FBI defiantly have the ability to track the IP of a transaction and track the coins through mixers to a new address and IP...TOR and VPN actually make it EASIER for them.
But they will never give a shit about small time thefts they only protect the uber-rich.

I would much prefer to deal with the thief most personally anyway...The 'Legal' system is designed to protect thieves and there is NO BIGGER THIEF than Governments.
163  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [BLOCKS PARTY] ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool on: March 24, 2018, 05:22:01 PM
No. I'm stuck using Bitmain's internal miner. (I am familiar with CGminer & config set-up & commands)
Which would mean saving a backup of the config TOR file then editing it and reloading ( Which I have no experience doing so hesitant ...is BM-miner really 100% CGminer compatible? )
164  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [BLOCKS PARTY] ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool on: March 24, 2018, 04:36:07 PM
Please remind me how to manually set my mindiff a little higher. (I seem to have topped out at 11K)
(I'd like to reduce the bandwidth a bit)
I tried d=24000 in the password area but it did not work.

The recent modest rise in hashrate is halong burn testing their new hardware. Here's hoping for a flood of T1 miners choosing this as their home ground in the future too Smiley

Ahmen to that...

Can't help wondering how long 'wetsuit' 1EcH7pHYTHLo3cbdXfkf6e6Zh5JzCPGumc can afford to continue to contribute his 5.8P of 745 workers....( is 7.7Th /worker still profitable?)

And wondering if the new guy 36JMs8rogpizjkkp6eeKMmm3SLbSNo5H9V with (approx) 2P and 200 workers  (10th/worker)  is Halong warm-up or a whack of T9's

Should we be watching for some 16Th/worker address?
Or is the chip burn in process like running a new race car engine at low rpm?
168  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [6PH] ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool on: March 22, 2018, 07:25:45 PM
It ain't broke...no need for development it was just fine with the plain old black and white stats. I miss them.
Besides  he gets FREE upgrades from devoted miners...out of love and respect
And it means he is NOT in the game to profit OFF OF THE MINERS...like that other guy
So he does not need to resort to smear tactics and deceptive propaganda bribes and fees to seduce fools to mine at his pool.
It is a real shame his pool does not have a huge hash rate.
The only reason I can't mine here is I can't risk the variance of such a low hash rate PPLNS.
Further CK does not lie and deceive miners of the risks of PPLNS and he PAYS OUT THE DUST.
169  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Stephen Hawkings is gone on: March 22, 2018, 09:25:40 AM
First... Steven Hawking died LONG ago...no one has.. nor ever will ..survive ALS for over 20 years AND ALSO escapes suffering no loss of cognitive function.
The ACTOR who  replaced him was a pampered  impostor puppet.
ALL of the "work" & "Science"  was bullshit fallacious idiotic EASILY DISPROVED theories
All his "work" is a FRAUD and CRIME against truth reason and science

JUST LIKE EINSTEIN the bullshit liar plagiarist fraud

Funny you mention that because that is exactly what happened to me at Kano's pool.
I had to watch helplessly as my pool payouts got immediately withdrawn while I scrambled to download and sync a new wallet/address.

171  Economy / Service Discussion / A smooth fast positive RMA experience with Bitmain on: March 21, 2018, 09:23:29 AM
I notice so many horror stories about Bitmain's service and RMA problems.
Just thought I would share a POSITIVE case.

Thurs. Mar 1 2018 I received some S9's ..One unit had a dead hash board.
I spent a day trying to troubleshoot it to no avail.

I contacted Bitmain support and opened a repair ticket and then early Mon. 5th sent the unit back.
It arrived in H.K. on Thurs. 8th.
On Mon. 11th I received an email stating it was "Collected"
On Wed 13th I received an email stating it was fixed and would be sent back within 3 days.
I received a call from the courier late Fri. 16th informing me the unit had arrived but I needed to show that import duties had already been paid.
Morning of Mon. 19th, I self cleared the item from customs with no additional costs and had the unit back up mining at full speed by 10 a.m.

So roughly two weeks turn around time from discovering the problem to having it back online.
I could have shaved 4 days off that time if I had shipped and collected earlier.

I have 26 S9's, that was my ever first problem with any unit and first RMA experience.
The shipping cost to H.K. From Ottawa was CDN $300..(Ouch)

172  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [80+PH] KanoPool kano.is 10 BTC giveaway 🐈 on: March 21, 2018, 08:49:26 AM
Congratulations on the recent lucky streak...
If you mined at Kano since August of 2017 you are now ONLY THIRTY-FIVE  (35) BLOCKS BEHIND 100% expectancy.
If you mined since Oct you are ONLY NINETEEN (19) BLOCKS BEHIND 100% expectancy
173  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: antminer S9 wont connect with my computer but will with others. on: March 19, 2018, 02:40:11 AM
I have had the exact same thing happen....UNPLUG PSU... reboot and all was well..
But it did spook me because I could not access the device..was NOT IP or dhcp problem, not the switch, or net, or pool, not cat6.  (Because other miners unaffected)
174  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Best pool rules on: March 19, 2018, 02:13:53 AM
I agree... it is better for me.... if YOU mine at Kano's
But FYI
Bitcoin.com pool has ZERO fees and pays highest PPS..(NO VARIANCE means NOT getting fornicated by 6 & 900% blocks and PPLNS EXTORTION ramp up/down bullshit)
They also have "3N" PPLNS for both BTC & BCH with Auto profit or dedicated pool and average over 500Ph.. so variance will be far less painful than Kano's.
It also has  great site stats and easy friendly interface and data and better payout options than Slush, Auto profit switching. Monthly activity (CSV) report. Good support. stable reliable connectivity.

175  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How did you make the jump to the next level? on: March 17, 2018, 02:36:33 AM
Funny you ask....Truth be told, I only quit my job to go pro. full time mining because I was drunk, stoned and trying to impress a girl and get laid.
Unfortunately it worked.
I've actually sold the story rights for an upcoming episode of "How I met your CryptoMinerMother"

I have 28.(1 going/1due back from  RMA) My 16x S9's then I bought gave her 2+2 to add to her own 8x S9's. (Oh and my 7990 is STILL making a respectable trickle of Alt dust)
We're on hold for more ASIC's for few months
She got me a puppy so I got the better of that deal, we shacked up and just bought house near a ski hill in Quebec. So we're pretty much all in at this point.
Ontario I was $0.18/Kwh Quebec is half that. That helps a bit too.

Our expenses are as low as one could get, our lifestyle and needs modest. We spoil the dog, treats are not cheap.
I started GPU Alt's in 2013 rolled them all into BTC waited for the asic tech to stop going obsolete every six months and the price to rise and then jumped in with every dime I could spare.
last Summer/Fall made quitting the day job easy. Finding the Sweet Ass partner also helped tip the scales to go all in.

176  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: S9 or 841 or... on: March 17, 2018, 02:26:38 AM
You HAVE 100 s9's ALREADY???

I don't think you are still asking for purchasing advice here?
Rather just bragging.
If I was to give you as many S9's as you want for free? How many would you ask for?

177  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Do you pay custom tax to China when warranty repair? on: March 14, 2018, 09:21:14 AM
no
178  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 1% fee solo mining USA/DE 246 blocks solved! on: March 09, 2018, 06:23:45 PM
http://solochance.com/

The current odds for a single 13.5 Th S9 to find a block are ONCE every THIRTY-FIVE YEARS.
179  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Brand new S9... 1 board..1/2 chain DOA any suggestions on: March 05, 2018, 11:49:38 PM
So DHL charged me CDN $300.00 to send a single S9 back to Hong Kong for repair...OUCHH...
Shame we can't use the Bitmain coupons for shipping.
180  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Brand new S9... 1 board..1/2 chain DOA any suggestions on: March 03, 2018, 04:11:45 AM
Yes I use 220v and Bitmain PSU...yes I swapped/tried with a known good working Bitmain PSU's.....and re flashed Firmware.....and swapped controller cables between affected  board and working one.
Yes unit was well warmed up and reset a few times.
I gave it a stern verbal scolding expressing my disappointment....

It's just a plain old DOA board....My first DOA..

The real piss off is I can't sent it back until Bitmain responds to the damn ticket...
