161  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 2013-03-07 Volkskrant (dutch): Bitcoin is getting mainstream - but what is it? on: March 09, 2013, 01:49:44 PM
It was about time. First article in a Dutch newspaper as far as I know.

If I remember correctly there was an article about Bitcoin in NRCNext in 2011

Hopefully there will be more well written articles much more frequently  Wink

Why is there such a difference between the Bitfunder/Bttc passthrough prices at the moment? Currently ~0.69BTC vs~1BTC respectively. I'm not implying that there is anything wrong with either passthrough, I just don't understand the psychology of it.

Probably a lack of liquidity both in shares and btc on both platforms.... Give it some time and there will be ppl with both enough shares and btc on either platform to arbitrages the prices back to near equilibrium

My feeling is that the last update wasn't written by Friedcat but by someone else on the Bitfountain team

Thats why it was shorter and without less real info than usual

I could be wrong though....

Update

The market finds a way for more liquidity. What we want to emphasis again is that we are neutral towards all shareholders, treating each share and shareholder with no difference. We neither support nor disapprove any non-harmful usage of our shares. And we are not involved in any form of derivatives. We also take no benefits from them besides their positive externality.

We were not great timeline holders so we would like to keep us from giving empty estimated dates. But the next week may possibly see our occupation of more portion in the whole network. Also the second batch is on its way and we are becoming much more prepared to them.

We are fully aware of that we currently owe the board members more active contact and the community the samples. But we have to put effort to the shareholders' side most. We have a lot of plans and ideas to share with the board, and will keep the promise to deliver the trial boards.

Using satoshis to represent share numbers, is both an asking for confirmation and an assurance to us that the transaction will be legal with each week's modification by trading.

Thanks for the update....

Can you elaborate on where you are hashing at the moment and under which usernames/IDs.... So we can keep track of our hashing power :-)

I have not received a dividend payment this week. (Got last week's.)

Network luck is pitiful (7 blocks in ~3 hours) right now.  LOTS of transactions not getting confirmed as a result, so your dividend may just be stuck in limbo at the moment.

BTW. Is it really needed to confirm the number of shares with satoshi's?

Using the blockchain for communications isn't a good idea. It spams the system, bloating everything. Just saying...  Roll Eyes

Especially since the dividend is sent out before people can react to say smtg is wrong....
167  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: March 06, 2013, 06:47:16 PM
Strange... it still hasn't been confirmed. Anyone have any idea why?

Probably because the fee was set at the absolute minimum
168  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: March 06, 2013, 05:44:46 PM
I received my dividend last week but have not received the latest payment. Anyone else in the same situation?

Thanks

It showed up in my Bitcoin client, but 0 confirms still

Almost halfway to getting our investment back Smiley

1 Satoshi per share incoming.

Same here... 1 satoshi per share like last week

Um, yes, that's not good times for anyone except graet. The whole point of Bitcoin is that single miners are NOT supposed to be getting six blocks in a row.

Can you kick "Anonymous" off your pool please? There's no reason someone with so much hash power should be mining on a pool anyway. If they set up their own node things will be much safer for Bitcoin.

Yes I can see how it is definitely better to kick someone with a lot of hashing power off all pools and have them setup their own modified Bitcoind.... much safer for Bitcoin than have them spread their hashing power over a few pools  Huh
172  Economy / Auctions / Re: ASICMINER fixed price auction on: March 06, 2013, 09:57:40 AM
Friedcat has stated earlier that he thinks 30 - 40 % of the Dividends will be withheld for future development etc.... Don't forget that Friedcat and his friends also get paid by dividends...the 200.000 shares Bitfountain holds.... So I expect a steady stream of weekly dividends

hopefully yes, I was counting on it while I was buying the extra shares for pretty high prices nowadays. Tomorrow evening will tell us more about what kind of dividends can we expect. I'm also hoping that friedcat will be able to put more hashpower online soon...

Well it is confirmed that Bitfountain, 1 & 2 on OzCoin are also ASICMiner, so 4TH on BTC Guild and 2TH on OzCoin means we are half way there for the first batch
173  Economy / Auctions / Re: ASICMINER fixed price auction on: March 06, 2013, 09:16:36 AM
so, how long you think it will take to get even (i mean to get the share value of 0.5BTC) from dividents?  Smiley

10-15 months. My personal estimation

6 month to 2 years is my guess. depends on if bfl ships or not.

yep, something like this. The best case scenario is the half year, but that will hardly be true. Bigger question is if the dividends will stop flowing after the 0.1 BTC is paid off. Then the board members can decide if the money will be re-invested in the company and ASICs for home use will be sold or something like that...

I don't think Friedcat ever broke his thursday update rule, I'm afraid we will have to wait till thursday for more information.

Update
Sorry for the delay in my awakening. Doing management on troubleshooting all day.
This update is sketchy but I will try making contact more frequently than once a week whenever I have time.

We can only hope  Wink

Perhaps Friedcat can comment on the Bitfountain users on Ozcoin.... I'm pretty sure they have nothing to do with Asicminer.... although the names imply something else....
176  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9500 GH] BTC Guild - PPS/PPLNS with TxFees, Stratum+Vardiff ASIC Tested on: March 05, 2013, 09:59:40 AM
Is it possible to re-add the feature to see blocks mined on the current difficulty?

This will be brought back soon (after I get some rest), making a couple more adjustments to rankings page.  I'm also looking into an arbitrary "Team Score" which factors in recent shares/blocks solved to favor active teams over ones that simply have lots of old members.  Stats are always fun to play with when the important things are working Smiley.

Awesome !

Can someone please recap this saga and tell us what has happened with this project so far?
Did they ever make a working chip? Is this chip actually in use? Has anyone ever really received a working ASIC miner form those guys? Who and are you mining?  And wtf is up with this "our own stock exchange" nonsense (diversion from the main goal?) while we have 2 fine exchanges to choose from  - https://btct.co/ and Bitfunder Smiley

Thank you.

PS!To mope-prtroll. Before you start yakking and writing your paid spam and singing praise to your pervert master and it's one stock wunder-bazaar, let me use that quote to remind you what you and scumbag Popescu really are. I'll paraphrase: "MPEx's and it's PR muppet are "skidmarks" on bitcoins underwear and time will wash them out."
Tick-tock, troll women. Tick-fkn-tock, it's time for you to go.

And they are not selling hardware yet... it's a self-mining project first... up to around 50TH, after that they might be selling hardware

Guys , i am trying to wrap my head around this one :

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=148832.0

if its legit we need more Hashing Power online soon.

Whether it's legit or not... we need some more hashing power online soon.... others are catching up fast.... At least we can rely on BFL to be delayed for a while  Wink
