161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 4GB GPUs and DAG file load problem with Claymore on: July 30, 2020, 07:52:40 PM
HAHA i'm mining with windows and 4GB cards, and i give not up, because why? My Rigs running well.

After reading your description the fix for windows is -> use internal gpu as first gpu and you have no problems.

Wait until 370 epoch, you will change your mind.

Kawpow works on 4GB still but i thin kthat profitability will be killed when all those 4GB or 50% of them will switch to  Kawpow ... good luck with profitability.
162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ethos ETH miners stop mining at epoch 352 on: July 30, 2020, 07:50:02 PM
nope will work up to epoch 370. Tested with benchmark.
Give me reason why it stops.

In smos it should work until 385 epoch Smiley Thats the difference, Our SMOS linux does not use any graphical interface.
It is server like linux which can be managed via cloud dashboard.

Win10 reserves something like 300-600MB VRAM, where as ethOS only reserves 8 MB. Win 10 rigs with 4gig cards will depending on card manufacturer and type, stop mining ETH some times around October. Linux based miners will run out og VRAM memory around Christmas.
Excellent answer !
163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ethos ETH miners stop mining at epoch 352 on: July 30, 2020, 07:19:36 PM
........I don´t know why i get this error. I do some research tomorrow. My other 10 rigs with windows10 running well.

Those Windows 10 rigs will stop working also Smiley (if they are 4GB)

I have created new thread with explanation why is this happening

164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / 4GB GPUs and DAG file load problem with Claymore and Ethereum on: July 30, 2020, 07:06:13 PM
Hello guys,

Every 4 days more and more of you guys will have bigger problems with 4GB GPUs.
Today there was another epoch in ethereum that increased size of the DAG file that is being loaded into GPU. 4GB GPUs are almost full !
[Short version]

Why is this happening ?
This file is right now 3.75GB in Ethereum and 3.84GB in Ethereum Classic.
The problem with claymore miner is that he did not released fix for the 4GB cards.
Also problem is seen in windows as windows is loading graphical interface in first GPU which already has almost full memory.
Every 3 days dag file increase and cause problem on 4GB cards.

How to fix it ?
Solution is simple, you just need Linux like Operating system and SimpleMining.net OS is the way to proceed.
Then under that operating system you just need to use teamredminer and then problem with 4GB GPUs will be solved but still not for long.
In November / December 2020 the file will exceed 4GB and those cards will stop mining Ethereum forever.

Also there is about 20-30% GPUs that have 4GB memory so you can expect 20-30% difficulty drop somewere in November/December 2020 or maybe this will be smoother as Windows users will probably give up mining.

Anyway if you would like to fix your problem, the solution is simple Smiley

Current DAG size you can check on: https://investoon.com/tools/dag_size

Counter to next epoch has nanopool (top left on their website): https://eth.nanopool.org/

Our Mining Operating system website: https://simplemining.net

Here is whole email that i addressed to SimpleMining.net OS users: (with complete info how to fix it)
--------------------------------
[long version] Cheesy
Quick but very important information about mining on 4GB GPUs.
Many users don't know but 4GB GPUs will soon stop be able to mine Ethereum (ETH) and Ethereum Classic (ETC)!
When you are creating new rig, be sure not to buy 4GB cards anymore. Choose those with 8GB or more.

Why is this happening ?
Well, there is the thing called "DAG size" in Ethereum. This is file that is being loaded into each GPU.
This file size is currently 3.74GB. And you are thinking right, when it grows to ~4GB the GPU will not be able to mine ETH.
On the other hand ETC (Ethereum Classic) has even bigger DAG file of 3,84GB so mining for it will end up sooner.

You will have problems sooner !
90% of users are currently using old good Claymore-ETH miner. But we are getting more and more signals that problems appearing right now in Claymore and Phoenixminer.
Windows user are doomed even faster with 4GB cards but you are using SimpleMining.net OS which is based on linux that handles mining much better.
ETH DAG file will exceed 4GB size in November/December 2020 and that might be last days with 4GB GPUs.
There are other coins which you can check on whattomine.com calculator but it will be less and less profitable.

How can i extend ETH mining on my 4GB GPUs ?
You should use miner program that addressed 4GB problem and made improvements so that 4GB cards could last as long as it is possible.
We advice switching from Claymore and PhoenixMiner to TeamRedMiner which fix works the best on 4GB GPUs.
Also its good to tell that TeamRedMiner has lowest dev fee and slightly better hashrate.
Still you need to know one important thing. When you look into dashboard hashrate, we are presenting you hashrate that miner tells us.
So looking at hashrate in miner/dashboard is not the smartest move.
If you want to be sure that miner program is hashing faster, you can verify that in much better way.
Take a look into your pool statistics website for accepted/current hashrate(real one) and not reported hashrate (what miner reports).

How to migrate from Claymore/Phoenix/others to TeamRedMiner ?
Edit your ETH mining group (or much safer - create new Config Group) -> Press "Change Miner" button - > search for teamredminer -> select USE on newest version
If you created new group, assign this group to your rigs.
In config option write those options:
-a ethash -o stratum+tcp://POOL:PORT -u 0x222222222.$rigName -p x --api_listen --watchdog_script
Or if it is SSL port then:
-a ethash -o stratum+ssl://POOL:PORT -u 0x222222222.$rigName -p x --api_listen --watchdog_script

Example config for TeamRedMiner for pools: (replace x2222222 with your ETH wallet address)
-a ethash -o stratum+ssl://eu1.ethermine.org:5555 -u 0x2222222.$rigName -p x --api_listen --watchdog_script
Example for nanopool:
-a ethash -o stratum+ssl://eth-eu1.nanopool.org:9433 -u 0x2222222.$rigName -p x --api_listen --watchdog_script

If anyone has problem with 4GB AMD GPUs stopped working under claymore miner then you just need to use teamredminer program and it works fine under 4GB GPUs.

OK guys, this is little advertisement but i have solution for you guys regarding today problem with 4GB GPUs ....

SimpleMining.net and choosing miner called teamredminer is the solution. Under that setup mining with 4GB cards works fine.

167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v15.0 (Windows/Linux) on: July 30, 2020, 06:18:47 PM
I keep getting "not enough GPU memory to place DAG, you cannot mine this coin with this GPU". This started with epoch 351. I reinstalled Linux and it disappeared until epoch 352 today. I thought it might be a bad disk as it's not functioning so well but it's still the same on a new one.

I don't have this problem on windows 10. The whole reason I switched to Linux was it has less problems and is supposed to mine for longer. This can't be a memory problem as it's still mineable with over 250MB free. Also if the DAG size was the issue it would have stopped on card #1 ages ago as this has about 80MB less memory available but it's with all cards.

This miner is buggy and it's been like this even 2 years ago with 8GB cards. I see it's no longer being maintained as well and is 10 months old.
Yes. claymore should upgrade his miner to fix those 4GB problem.
But there are other miners on which 4GB cards are still working under SimpleMining OS.

Regarding windows, the main problem is that windows has graphical interface which allocates some memory in gpu.
Linux can be hadless and does not have this problem so putting 8GB makes sense only in windows.
Yet you can try in claymore using some options that load dag slower or uses different kernel.

171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Deploy and manage your GPU farm the easy way on: July 20, 2020, 08:17:05 PM
since yesterday 16/07 1050ti can'y mine eth with smos?

1050TI 4GB ?
DAG size in ETH is killing more and more GPUs.
Just to verify, please be sure you are using newest phoenixminer as it has some tweaks to let those 4GB cards mining little longer.

Please write to us at admin@simplemining.net again
We will check your rig and let you know what is wrong.
Please write in english Smiley

BIG changes are coming….
[/color]You as client probably spotted that we released very little dashboard updates recently.
You are right ! This is due to fact that we are working on something new.
Currently past 3 months our server side software is being rewritten from ground zero and this process will take another ~3 months. Here is some changes:
- we will finally release REST API for users
- we will introduce new Dashboard written in latest technologies (React JS)
- with first new Dashboard update we will introduce few changes and improvements that You will love
- Dashboard will be more responsive and with later updates will be lightning fast
- we are also working on native iOS app and if it will be hot then also Android app too !
- After everything will settle down, new features, changes, improvements will be added much faster !
- I am sure that You and other users will love upcoming changes (at least i hope so Tongue)
173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Deploy and manage your GPU farm the easy way on: July 10, 2020, 12:27:42 PM
Update v1281:
- NEW added memory undervolting (mvdd) for RX5700 (NAVI). GPUs default voltage is 1350mv and undervolting to 1280 or 1300 helps lowering mem temperature by even 5*C on memory chip. The wattage savings are like 1-2W per GPU (new field is available in OC window)
- NEW you can now overclock NAVI RX5700 cards with higher memory clocks and also lower core voltage than GPU bios allows.
- improved sending debug console
- improved progress bar of downloading miner
- fixed nbminer stats (not summing hashrate)
- fixed issue with not always miner stopped after getting pause command and message cleanup
- fixed ugly messages on external monitor during first boot process
- fixed "there is no screen" flooded message on external monitor while miner in Pause mode
174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Deploy and manage your GPU farm the easy way on: July 05, 2020, 10:42:59 AM
I have a problem with my 5700 and RAM Mhz.
Simplemining shows

clocks 1350 / 875 / 775mV

The RAM always stays at 875 Mhz, regardless if i set it to 1600 / 1800 / 1900.

Any help possible?

5.0.21-sm11 / amd19.50 / v12.80

Yes, please send me email to admin@simplemining.net with details and rig name.
Please also leave the rig Online and we will check it.

Dashboard update:
- added new filter for searching rigs that have hashrate less than
- added example OC settings button in OC window - so that new users would know what should they put there
178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Deploy and manage your GPU farm the easy way on: May 27, 2020, 10:19:54 AM
Rig Update v1280
-fixed teamredminer API. Now it shows speed values for each GPU but we had bug for 1 day that whole rig value was in kH/s instead of Mh/s so on rig stats you will see kH/s and in separate GPUs you will see MH/s. This is fixed now
179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Deploy and manage your GPU farm the easy way on: May 26, 2020, 08:47:16 PM
BETA OS image
- we fixed problem on VEGA that hashing speed was a lot worse. Now the new image is added in Advanced commands. Generally it works more less the same as 19.50 drivers on vega. And older nvidia or amd gpus could work more less the same but not faster. SM-5.0.21-17-a20.10-n440.82-v1279.img.xz
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Deploy and manage your GPU farm the easy way on: May 25, 2020, 04:39:43 PM
Update - NEW BETA IMAGE
- released new BETA image with newest 20.10 AMD drivers and NVIDIA 440.84 that may have finally good performance on ALL GPU cards (i guess we will find out in users tests Tongue)
- this image should have better mining speeds on VEGA / Radeon VII / NAVI (RX5700 series)
- image contain also fix for popular e1000 network driver that could cause whole network failure due to packet flooding (in past two years there were cases like this, please let me know if this fixes this problem)
- be sure to use miners that support this 20.10 AMD drivers (phoenix 5.0), because on older versions the performance will be worse !
- note that you can easily reflash your rig from dashboard ( select one rig on rigList -> Actions -> Advanced Commands ->  OS reflash - NEW BETA )
