162  Other / Meta / Re: Goodbye to Merit History... on: May 25, 2018, 08:20:45 PM
Why was there a 120 day limit put on it?

theymos had already stated somewhere that it was to avoid the problems that would arise due to pagination on merit pages as merit transactions of each user increases.

is there a way around to make archive.is able to capture my merit page?
it seems that merit page can only be viewed by registered users only, any reason for this?
It would be great if theymos can change so viewing the page does not require login

Yeah, archive.is would not work because merit pages are not available to non-logged-in users. It was because Merit history of users doesn't serve any purpose for the public so it can't be viewed.

Although as wanted to use archive.is to backup your stats, you could instead download the Merit dumps file occasionally here :  https://bitcointalk.org/merit.txt.xz

I started doing bounty. Please give me advice for me to be 1000$ a month. Thank you very much
Earning 1000$ per month just from bounties is not an easy task. Even legendaries enrolled in bitcoin paying campaigns can earn about 320$ per month and as you have such low rank, you can't easily achieve this from signature campaigns. You might try your luck with altcoin bounties and sell your tokens later at the right time when their price is high. It is a risky way and does not guarantee 1000$/month.
You would need to have enormous amount of real friends and followers on your social media accounts to even achieve something near to your goal.
The best way would be to start providing your services on the forum like coding or graphic designing, in whichever field you are skilled because such jobs get payed higher than doing bounties.
166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO Communication on: May 22, 2018, 08:32:13 PM
With so many ICOS throwing themselves out there, where do you interact more? Telegram or Twitter?
Twitter is for mostly used as a means to spread out the message to many followers but most users don't indulge in twitter dm's for crypto related stuff.
Earlier almost all projects used to have a slack channel but now it has been replaced by telegram.
Telegram offers group chat so users can solve out their queries efficiently.
167  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: WHAT safe wallet. on: May 22, 2018, 07:52:14 PM
blockchain WALLet is safe ?
I don't recommend using blockchain.info's wallet because the one cannot get the private keys of the newly generated bitcoin addresses from this wallet. This means that they have full power to control all your funds and if the site gets hacked then you end up losing all you coins.
You can't even sign messages using this wallet.

I prefer desktop and hardware wallets over online wallets because of their much secure features.
168  Local / India / Re: what exchange do you use? on: May 22, 2018, 03:56:35 PM
I have used bittrex, poloniex and hitbtc in the past. I would recommend any of these as all are legit and worked fine for me. Few of the exchanges have a certain limit of how much one can withdraw at a time for unverified users so you must take that into account and also do your own research to look out of other users' feedbacks.
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How much have you really earned from bounties? on: May 22, 2018, 03:06:35 PM
It depends. Very good friend of mine got about 80 000$ for 5.5 months bounty compaigns. He worked day by day on 50 compaigns at the same time.
it's amazing that your friend is smart enough to follow 50 campaigns in one account, if it's true how can one account just be used for one campaign and one signature?
Wow 50 campaigns at a time, that's insane ! It would have taken complete days to achieve this. Was he using a bot ?
Also, it would have become quite difficult to keep track of all the work, was he enrolled in one of the automatic bounty platforms ?

Answering to your question, it is not possible to join more than one signature campaign at a time from one account. If anyone is using his alt accounts for campaigns, then it is violation to the campaign rules. However, one can enroll in as much social campaign as he wants.
170  Other / Meta / Images Not appearing in Preview on: May 22, 2018, 01:44:39 PM
For past few days, whenever I add new picture to a new reply and try to preview it, it does not load. I wait for 1 or 2 minutes but still the same.
But as soon as I post it, after few couple of seconds of waiting and reloading the page, they finally appear.
Is it because of recent changes made in image caching related development on forum or what ?
I haven't encountered this issue earlier, just recently.
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Faucithub not accepting any BCH address on: May 22, 2018, 12:20:39 PM
All the three addresses are valid BCH wallet addresses as verified using the explorer : https://explorer.bitcoin.com/bch/address/
The only problem I believe is that you may be claiming from faucethub enabled faucets but you have not yet registered on the official faucethub website.

It even shows a warning of the address' balance checker page : https://faucethub.io/balance

IMPORTANT : You must already have an account registered and your addresses linked to it to be able to use this section.
172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: MEW Offline on: May 22, 2018, 11:49:41 AM
The storing of MEW wallet files on internet free or fresh pc is just as an way to increase security. Few weeks back, MEW's official site got hacked by changing their DNS, so if you had the wallet on your PC, then your funds would not have been affected.
If you are planning to use your wallet as a cold storage for coins, then it is preferred to do so on an offline machine, just in case something bad happens.
173  Economy / Reputation / Re: Another way of merit begging on: May 22, 2018, 10:43:44 AM
Both of the users' tables explicitly state to give them Merit if they liked it. This is pure Merit begging. Asking for Merit on forum is not tolerated and so should be the case for off-forum websites like google sheets too.
Here is the screenshot from both the tables :

Btw, I encountered another user who is doing this without asking for merit, here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3747612.0
174  Other / Meta / Re: Staked address question on: May 22, 2018, 09:00:27 AM
And how are the hacked accounts discovered?
The person who gets hacked has to create a new account and prove that he is the real owner of the account and that it got hacked. The message containing
message signed by staked address is sent to theymos / Cyrus which then look into your account recovery case.

Only administrators can view the IP change or?
The only person that can get IP address related information is theymos (admin).

Because I posted in my second thread probably hacked/bought accounts - swicth language, time gap and still they arenīt tagged, how DT moderators evaluate what is hacked/bought and what is not?
Apart from IP address, on the trust page anyone can view whether the password, email or both of the account was changed recently or not.
When original user posts his signed message using stacked address publicly, DT or any other users can verify it and identify the hacked account.
175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Review] Medicohealth - Red flags and a serious case of follower buying on: May 22, 2018, 08:30:21 AM
What do you think about ICOs or Cryptocurrency projects that buy huge amounts of followers? Do they do it just to look good? To attract naive investors?
The sad truth is that most of the ICOs do similar things to gain followers. What do you think the social bounties running on the forum are ?
They request the participants to follower their twitter or facebook and in turn pay them in tokens as an incentive. It is also a sort of buying followers but just disguised in the form of campaign with added benefit of getting quality retweets/shares.

On telegram too many projects run referral campaigns to get thousands of users to join their channel.

All this marketing is the result many ICOs get millions of dollars from investors.
176  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How hard to Get MERITS?? on: May 22, 2018, 07:38:59 AM
I have heard that is is very hard for people to rank up in here. How true is this?

I am not the best story teller but i am a very lovely person so i hope i meek multitude with a lot of kindness to offer
It is not much hard if you have patience and good writing skills, you would definitely rank up.
Your aim should only be to make quality and constructive posts and merits would come your way. Help the forum community and don't just focus to rank up your account.
177  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: For those who wants MERIT! on: May 22, 2018, 05:23:10 AM
I'm replying to this simply because you're quoting my statement and falsely interpret it.
1. None of my statement stated that he/she should only post on bounty threads and not create constructive posts. What I tried to say is that just to take a break and chill.
I support your thinking and have nothing against it. I just wanted to advice the OP that if he joined bounty social media campaigns, then still he should continue to make constructive posts and the merits would come eventually.

2. Balance what? shitposting and serious posting?
I meant balance between posting on just bounty threads and other constructive threads. Sorry, if my statement was not clear originally.
178  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Change color.... on: May 22, 2018, 04:45:33 AM
For anyone who doesn't know, the colors like : 0099FF and CC0099 are called hex colors and so they are not only limited to the ones listed by OP. You can use : http://www.color-hex.com/ to chose any of the infinite colors available.

Thank you for advice! What moderators think about the usage of colors by beginners?
You can use it freely, but do not overdo it, it will make your article too prominent (many colors) it will not be good.

In such cases it is better to design the thread in photoshop and post images instead of using these color codes. They are mpstly useful for signature designs because there is no alternative to BBCode for it.
179  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: For those who wants MERIT! on: May 22, 2018, 03:49:51 AM
Guys I couldn't give merit for I am also one of those who struggle earning it, what I can give is a sort of moral support, for I know many here lose hope of ranking up because they failed to get merit after doing their best in constructing "quality post".
Just imagine this guys, when we rank up and become a "member" at least, opportunity to earn from signature campaigns can surely help us on our finances, try reading and continue learning, the higher rank we get in, the more chances of earnings.
Continue working hard and don't give up, rewards are coming for those who never stop trying.

I think your mindset is wrong in this case. You can participate in other types of campaigns, such as social media and creative media. The signature campaign is just not worth the reputation compared to payout (and risk) for a peasant like us.

And also without a linked account, it's impossible to rank up without doing something meaningful to the community. Just learn and create your best quality thread once a while when you have spare time. Just relax Smiley

You are partly correct with the fact that one can join social bounty campaigns if he's not eligible for signature campaigns yet but remember that only posting on bounty threads would not lead in increase of your post quality in any way and you might lose any potential merit points that you would have got if you posted constructively.
You must balance both of them, because signature campaigns provide opportunities to earn in bitcoins eliminating the risk of getting payed in new tokens.
180  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: why don't Neabie participate in signture campaign on: May 22, 2018, 02:55:46 AM
considering how many accounts people theoretically could use to spam-create accounts as "Newbie" and get bounty-rewards for signature, it's a good solution.
you need ~5 weeks to get 30 activity points, then you become a jr. member!
Many Bitcoin signature campaigns have refrained from letting even jr members to join their campaigns because now their signature space does not have the ability to display links, so they are not preferred much for advertising purposes.
