I think keys are the worst. How are they all not cracked? Who sells a key for $1 that’s worth $200 and in bulk. They're probably from someone's admin account. If you have one of them you can basically generate them finitely. Some are probably fraudulently purchased or cracked as well. fraudsters and scammers.
If that's a suggestion for a new title for the digital goods board - I vote yes. We honestly might as well rename it to that as that's probably what 90% of it is. |

Unfortunately, it has not been revealed the exact reason for your ban. It might have a chance to appeal. Hopefully, hilariousandco will notice this and can shed some light. Or someone may come along who is proficient and willing to check your post history for possible copy/pasting infractions(plagiarism.) Thanks for the advice. Should I contact him to see if there is a chance? I'm not certain if sending a PM to him would be considered ban evasion. You're not going to be banned for enquiring about a ban (unless you keep spamming the same thing after you've got the answer). More donator ranks have been suggested numerous times by various people including me. More income isn't needed right now As I've said before, you could always give it to charity or use it to fund worthwhile developments that benefit the community or crypto. Out of interest, does the forum hold any fiat reserves? and any possible benefits of an additional membership tier seem to me like they would be too superfluous. I don't think they would. I think there's lots of benefits to offering them both for users, the forum and the general community. It would pretty much kill the account sales/farming/scamming market firstly. It's also quite difficult to get merit so I think people should be able to bypass it via a sufficient payment. They're only going to buy an account or the merit anyway. Additional perks like being able to change your username, have a custom title, or image banner in their signature would also be big draws for people. I think you'd be surprised by how many people would purchase a premium membership, especially if it comes with some decent perks. Maybe I'll do it at some future point, when more income is needed and/or I have some decent ideas for things that really should be payment-gated. The way bitcoin is going it probably won't be too long  . I'm sure the community could brainstorm some suggested perks they'd like to see or that they'd pay for. P.S. Why do so many people read co pper member as c ooper member?  . The misspellings of various things on this forum have cracked me up over the years. Cooper Member, Cupper Member, me being accused of being a rapper and so on. Maybe theymos could use this money in the forum, in some especific area like account recovery or something like that
For account recovery, theymos said if it was possible to maintain, he would throw $100k instantly for that. For 100k I'll sit on the forum and recover them all day every day . Problem solved  . Hopefully the automatic recovery tool will be ready by the end of the year though. |

Obviously OP typed his reply inside the pyramid quote. If this is the reason of the ban then hilariousandco can easily unban him, but what if this is not the real cause of the ban!! hilariousandco should contact the one who banned the account for clarification. Only theymos can see who banned him, but there's only one report on the queue on that user and it follows a few others banned for copy and pasting in the same thread. ps: I think when banning an account, mods should add the reason of the ban and it should be visible on the account's profile page to avoid threads like this. Manually banning people is clunky and very time-consuming and we have a one click button for a permaban so that's what usually happens. The ban message should probably be chnaged to you have been banned for plagiarism since that's probably what it's used for in 99% of cases. I have requested an additional button that gives the same message to clear up further confusion. |

Here's a great example of self moderation abuse. Coupled with sock puppet shills/bumping service = ~4500 meaningless spam posts spread over 228 pages and still going. Scam accusations and negative trust haven't had any effect, nor have numerous reports to moderators unless they have been for specific instances of plagiarism, which the bumpers are now avoiding doing. Staff don't deal with scams, but just because some people use it for abusive purposes doesn't invalidate the genuine cases. Staff rarely get involved with instances of trolling or harassment even when some people are clearly over-stepping the mark and in those cases the operators of those threads/businesses should be able to moderate their threads accordingly and the best option for that is self-modding and do it themselves without having to rely on staff. |
