To all gigaminers,

Since I out here on the west coast, figured I'd get payments out right after midnight on Monday EST. Coupon payments have been paid.

Enjoy,
gigavps
1602  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Algorithmically placed FPGA miner: 245MH/s/chip and still rising on: June 01, 2012, 04:02:20 PM
I'm willing to bet 100 BTC that ASICs will be the first mining hardware to be rendered useless by Bitcoin developers.

1. The core bitcoin developer team would only change the protocol if the entire community deemed it necessary.
2. If ASIC is brought out in a way to appeal to the masses, I do not see this happening.

I would be willing to take this bet any day of the week. No ASIC developer is going to want to destroy the hand that feeds them.
1603  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Mini Rig card = 2 x Altera Arria II EP2AGX260 on: June 01, 2012, 01:07:35 PM
We know the Singles used off the shelf chips and had similar long timeline.

You do? Can you show me where BFL stated that they didn't have the single chips manufactured?
1604  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Mini Rig card = 2 x Altera Arria II EP2AGX260 on: June 01, 2012, 12:41:46 PM
The announced BFL ASIC approach is fairly different to what we have seen from BFL up to know...

So if you look at BFL's timeline for delivering mini rigs, it would suggest that these chips are indeed being manufactured. And if this is the case, and they are not buying second hand chips, then the ASIC would not be a far stretch from their process for delivering products now.

Just a thought.

That's the one!
1606  Economy / Services / Re: Gigamining / Teramining on: June 01, 2012, 12:24:09 PM
To all gigaminers:

I am flying out this evening to meet all of the equipment this weekend at the new DC. I am SUPER EXCITED to be making this trip and will keep you guys in the loop as things happen. If you haven't seen the FPGA forum board recently, Inaba has confirmed the gigamining mini rigs are being built and put through their paces. More details and pictures to come over the next week.

I don't like keeping everyone in the dark about these things, but you never count your chickens before they've hatched.  Wink

Best regards,
gigavps

P.S. Monday's coupon payment will not be delayed at all as I will have an internet connection.

Interesting work.

Yep - that looks correct now (edit version) - you will be able to update it again this morning (if you choose) as YABMC is about to pay dividends and the share count has increased about 7K.

Awesome work OP.

If the mini rig is supposed to have 17-18 units inside why does this board have 24 connectors?

The case was designed to hold moar PCBs

Sale pending to gigavps, all 3 rigs for $2850 not including shipping.
Is that the final offer for the whole farm? Not parting anything out.

I made a mistake and actually do not have 7.5GH currently. I am not selling the 6950 which was factored in or the 5970 that will be going out for RMA.

Getting everything packaged and ready to go, Thanks gigavps for a quick sale!

Should have waited for more bids my man.  I would have gone 3K for all 3 rigs.

The total deal is $3,175 in BTC. There was another 5970 I left out in my calculation.

Maybe next time yochdog!

I have sent an offer for $3600 in BTC via escrow for the entire lot.

We'll see what happens.
