1601  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Vote for FindCoin's Specs [Faucet Distribution] on: December 18, 2014, 04:25:23 AM
It seems that the voting majority is choosing the 25% PoS ... and it's already done ...

Indeed, the people have spoken lol, 25% Annual Stake seems to be the best option as a lot of people agree.
Alright, I'll stop the voting.

Edit:

Ok we're voting again and this time it's for the distribution time. How long do you want distribution to last? We're not expecting any different from what we originally had but just to make sure we're doing this

If we've already decided in the first vote to put 10M in faucet and give away 40k coins per hour - that leaves us only one timeframe option. 250 hours, right?

For example, if we all vote for 21 days/40k per hour - that means we have to give away not 10M, as we've decided, but 21 * 24 * 40 = 20.16M, all our coins with no reserve for bounties and coin swap  Wink

Or maybe I don't get it...
oops. I better change it.
1602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) on: December 18, 2014, 04:17:46 AM
Mr. Spread, I mean ZERO disrespect when I ask this and will definitely not push the issue as it's your coin... but would you be open to a name change for Spreadcoin at some point?  One of the biggest arguments against Darkcoin by many is its' name.  Spreadcoin is going to have many of the same features as DRK (and maybe even some improvements by the sounds of it!) BUT in my opinion, "Spreadcoin" isn't the greatest name ever for a coin, especially for a coin I feel can be a top 3-10 market cap coin within a year. Again, I mean no disrespect and if you love the current name, I won't mention it again.  But if you are open to a name change, I think it could bring even more attention to this coin.
We should call it Vegemitecoin. Because Vegemite is a dark spread.

1605  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do I install the GenesisH0 X13 module? on: December 18, 2014, 03:45:36 AM
After googling a less specific question I found the answer:

Code:
python setup.py install

We should all go on IRC. Lots of us are online.
1607  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) on: December 17, 2014, 11:28:03 PM
haha, i talked about this... good luck with a 300k miner on a 2.5G network...  Grin
And it's roughly 1 SPR per day. It has little sense with pools or without them. SPR blocks are generated pretty fast, every minute. So somebody with 1/1000 of net hashrate still can get the block about every 2/3 of the day. And even with 1/10000 it's every 7 days. When (if) price will go up, mining will be even harder, sure. But I like the idea that only dedicated miners will mine SPR, without switching on it for quick profit.

Idea of 'poolless' mining is good for coin security, even if it is not easy for miners. And honestly, I think sooner or later there will be workaround, there are some ideas ITT how to do it. But Mr. Spread is a good programmer and very good person. I think SPR will have a bright future.

If there's ever a workaround that doesn't get instantly fixed, SPR will tank in value as it becomes just another short lived short term BTC/fiat hose for the ADD instadumpers, ie. 99.99% of all miners.
I can't see any major dumping going on anytime soon though because what's the reward a block right now? 6.6 SPR or something like that? This is a hold till the price is very right to be dumped as far as I'm concerned but that's just my opinion.  I also believe in Mr. Spread taking any actions necessary to improve and continue to develop SpreadCoin into the amazing coin I believe that it will Wink Cheers

Most dumping  happened months before cex on the other 2 small exchanges. That's why the dumping is weak now.

You strong hand bastards!!! Have some compassion and sell sell sell! Tongue

Don't think too many people are gonna be selling on a gem like this coin unfortunately not for cheap Sad I'm still trying to get some buy orders filled since 4 days ago but if anyone feels generous they can always donate to : SdpQYCKXV8MQeKE6MSCK2J5JZP8sc3bxAA or if anyone needs any work done I would gladly do it for some more SpreadCoin. Smiley Just let the NoobKidOnTheBlock know what needs to be done?
I've got a job for you. Buy some spreadcoins. Hey look now you have some coins! Smiley
1608  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Pre-ANN][FIND] FindCoin - Faucet Distribution on: December 17, 2014, 10:52:03 PM
Good luck with this new project, when will be the countdown available?
We might ninja launch it. Once we sort out the wallet specs and get the wallets compiled then we might put up a countdown.
1609  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Pre-ANN][FIND] FindCoin - Faucet Distribution on: December 17, 2014, 10:30:16 PM
Hi Mates, you know me.., but with the coding I'm poor ..., sorry about. But I can be good tester ^^ xD
About the % voting I'm for 25%
Do you have Linux or Windows? I'll send you a test version once we get the wallet to work. Currently the Linux wallet works.
1610  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How do I install the GenesisH0 X13 module? on: December 17, 2014, 10:23:51 PM
I'm trying to install this X13 module for GenesisH0 but I am not sure how to. Could someone please explain how to install it?

Cheers

1611  Other / Off-topic / Goodbye steam games for Bitcoin (sort of) on: December 17, 2014, 08:11:43 PM
http://www.extremetech.com/gaming/196079-valve-enables-region-locking-in-steam-to-stop-you-buying-cheap-games-from-russia

Steam is Region locking games! Mainly so that we don't buy cheap games from Russia but if you want to trade Bitcoin for a steam game you need to find a person from your country. It sucks a lot.

Response from Bittrex:
Quote
We gauge demand based off of tweets, hash power, length of bitcointalk thread, volume on other exchanges, etc. Follow us on twitter @bittrexexchange and tweet about how much you like this coin and Bittrex. We respond to creative and insightful posts to help market your favorite coins and Bittrex. I'd also consider coming to our irc channel #bittrex on irc.freenode.net and do some guerrilla marketing. The traders there can help you gain exposure for your coin.
Wow, I got the exact same response. It's funny that we contacted them at the same time.
1613  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Vote for FindCoin's Specs [Faucet Distribution] on: December 17, 2014, 07:41:11 PM
Voting done.

What is the last date of voting ?
We should probably cut off voting now since the winner is obviously 25% stake.
Does everyone agree?
1614  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) on: December 17, 2014, 12:04:19 PM
Hashrate has stayed about the same in the past 24 hours. It has gone up slightly but it looks like it is going down right now.
Hashrate increased by 600% in the last 4 days. Its becoming imposible for small miner to find a block.
For Nividia cards ,they still can earn back electricity fee at the current price. Grin
no you cant! My 8mhs(2xgtx970)havent found a single block in last 24h.

seljačina speak truth Smiley

tbh i just turned off my rigs and went back to dark side Smiley

You should change your signature to "Fear for the dark"
1615  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MOTO] Motocoin on: December 17, 2014, 12:01:18 PM
This is it, i'm going to make my own motocoin. I have no idea how to create the genesis block for motocoin specificly so I'll just leave this one here. It'll say 5 7 months behind or something though. Unless someone else knows how.
Bots will ruin your coin
They won't ruin it because there will be lots of people mining from the start which means that bot owners won't have so many coins that they scare off new players. Unlike this coin.

Off topic: You support Spreadcoin? Huh. Me too.
1616  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Pre-ANN][FIND] FindCoin - Faucet Distribution on: December 17, 2014, 11:31:06 AM

All I do is follow guides. Smiley http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=scrypt_altcoin_cloning_guide

I used this to create a coin before but I couldn't compile it for other computers. For some reason only my computer worked.

Does that guide really work? I thought foo/bar was replaced with smallchange? EDIT: it's forked from SMC, oops...

Also nitrogenetics thread is a good read, altho bitcoind.

I tried that guide once and someone pointed out that there were typo's and incomplete examples of code that made the whole thing useless to greenhorns like myself. Not calling you a greenhorn in any way Smiley

Well, using the guide I successfully created a sh*tcoin called percentagecoin. There is a total of 100 coins which means that whatever amount you hold is the exact percentage of the total amount of coins. I could never get it to run on a different computer from the one I compiled it on for some reason though. (Linux btw)

e1ghtSpace, really nice touch  ... on the voting result inclusion ... on the OP page ... cool ...

Thanks Hobitcoin.

It looks fuzzy when I view the picture on my iPad but when I view it on my desktop computer is appears clear. Weird huh?
1618  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Vote for FindCoin's Specs [Faucet Distribution] on: December 17, 2014, 06:56:32 AM
I think that the "New" FINDcoin should have a stable 25% annual interest rate !  Cool
I'd like it to have a 1% interest rate. 25% just decreases the coin's value.
1619  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Vote for FindCoin's Specs [Faucet Distribution] on: December 17, 2014, 06:26:33 AM
Guys, make sure to vote again! Now we're voting for the PoS yearly interest rate.
1620  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Pre-ANN][FIND] FindCoin - Faucet Distribution on: December 17, 2014, 06:23:00 AM
Hey guys, the voting has finished with a clear winner:

Time to vote again!

This time it's for the PoS interest rate for each year.
