This coin looks great, it just lacks a good community. I wonder how we can get peoples attention.
I really like the pure POW on X11. POS is bad because the coins are generated for free, using hardly any electricity like mining on POW.

Whose up for talking on letstalkbitcoin about this?

I was surprised to see that I am subscribed to that podcast. I'm sure that if someone talks on there Spreadcoin will get a lot of exposure.

I just finished making the spreadcoin node on VPS video. It should be up in 12 - 48 hrs.

Spreadcoind Vanity Gen by Elbandi:

I'll be trying this out when I get home.

I'd say:

Did you destroy your private keys? If not, are you planning on spending your coins?
I'd really like to know, although I think it is really clear that he isn't going to spend them.

Bump.

Can this stop pools?

Please tell me you guys understand this:   (from spreadcointalk)
My original idea is this:

The blocks that people find do not have any relation to their private key.
This means that if you are mining on a pool and you find a block, you can switch the pool's address out with yours and they wouldn't know.

We would then need masternodes servicenodes to confirm the block was mined to your address to prevent other miners from taking the block you mined and switching your address with theirs and redistributing it to the network.
From: http://spreadcointalk.org/index.php?topic=43.msg1335#msg1335

Now, will this work to stop pools?

Heres an idea for servicenodes:

Users can send their coins to a userid. We can then limit the amount of userid's to 1 per ip and use masternodes to check if more are allocated. If so they will be removed.

If we let people send to a userid, then we need to let people add some text to their transaction (stored on masternodes temporarily) so that they know what it was for.

Eg.

Lol, the new BCT forum was supposed to be finished by now.  Angry         Grin

Messages in the blockchain have already been done, maybe look at CLAMs source.
They wasn't what I was mainly talking about. I was talking about having a username that people can send coins to, like "e1ghtspace" could be one of them.

Isn't that what bitcoin allows you to do as well but the part of the address still has the random number and letters for e.g SKETCHERx435bd34jk320m6vu9d

I've even seen the word DANK at the start of an address hahaha
Actually I did bring this up about 3 times, but can we please implement a vanity address generator into the Spreadcoin qt wallet please? Come on guys, it'll be cool. Just type in the starting characters and then your cpu will generate an address.

Also is blockchain bloat an issue?

Can someone please add me as a node. I have 0 connections (after I reset my VPS) and I used to have 60.

45.58.49.15

Thanks.

Edit: Okay, in the time it took me to write that, I got a connection.
793  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (official thread) on: May 15, 2015, 11:43:32 PM
I was interested, but the project has no direction and no plans. By the time they figure out what they are doing other coins will be light years ahead of it.
This is what some people think about Spreadcoin.
Is this a valid comment?
794  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage - Working Beta - Launches June 7th, 2015 on: May 14, 2015, 11:00:55 AM
I downloaded the "win32" wallet and im promted with an error when i try to unpack "win32".

"Destination path too long"
node_modules
lib
test

The wallet starts instantly but some tabs in the wallet do not work.
I have exactly the same problem, as you can see in my post above.
Does the peers tab seem to be the only working tab for you?

Yeh, i can add names... Thats it.

Im shocked at how quick the wallet loads up! Is that normal?
I don't think you can really say "loads up" if it doesn't. Smiley
It will probably take way longer when everything actually works.

Oh come on, the wallet doesn't even work... Sad

It seems that one of the folder's name is too long.
It also seems that delayed_stream.js is too long or something.

I think my wi-fi just sucks and corrupted the download... That would explain why it finished downloading so quickly...
The surprising thing is, the wallet actually opens but the only tab that works is the peers tab.

Well well well, looks what we have here...

Is it possible to merge this amazingly awesome feature into spreadcoin's servicenodes?
I hope it is, because that'll be AWESOME.

Still reading. Looking for the acronym ICO.
The only acronym ICO I found was in your post. Smiley

Why don't you use Ctrl + F? Its simple really. Smiley

Is this here to stay? Nope, sia. Smiley  <-- see what I did there.  Grin

Just kidding, this looks really awesome!

This is the most innovative coin I have seen all year, looking forward to the release!

I won it at Gambling games Wink
How much did you start with and how much did you walk away with?

I remember I used to gamble dogecoin but I ended up losing it.
