1601  Economy / Securities / Re: S.MG - The Ministry of Games. on: June 20, 2013, 03:11:24 AM
Saying grinding is "bad by design" is a little blanketing. In FFXI, a notorious game, grinding was the main feature of the game. A lot of people hated it, but just as many people loved it. Grinding came second to the storyline and "quests", making it a game of training, and subsequently discovery once strength was developed. Grinding wasn't mindless, but required skill, it required a party to work together in a harmony not seen in many other games. Each person played their role.

Probably. I might venture as far as to say that the principal value of WoW is exactly this grinding, that some people apparently like, and that the failure to implement same is the actual cause of the D3 collapse, in spite of all the numerous other defects countless web-commentators found.

And when I say grinding I mean the act of killing mobs for no other reason than to gather drops or experience.

Well in an RCE game in a sense this is somewhat obliquely present, in the sense that the player is (usually) attentive to efficiency, which means he primarily does whatever he's doing because it's productive rather than because "it's what the storyline hath ordained".

the China-farmers were breaking the ToA by selling Gil

That's okay, ToA are about as scandalous.

The problem is that you want to make money from all this.

Get a job already.

Or how he paid people to write MPEX (he didn't write it himself).

You say that as if it's a bad thing. I can't begin to contemplate what must be going on inside the skullous cavity of some dood imagining exchange executives write the code the exchange works on. Because Bitcoin, still?

I really can't wait to see what you guys are going to come up with.

Yeah, I can tell. And you're not the only one, either.

I guess this is because I don't understand PR or whatever.

and I was really surprised when MPOE bond had back to back double digit losses.

Don't remind me of that issue where you and harnett provided the losses to go with MPOE's performance last year. There's a difference between a bulwark propping up a market on one end (something nobody else has done or could conceivably do apart from MPOE) and some idiot mismanaging funds to spectacular results (something pretty much anyone can do, just like you can).

See here.
1603  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MtGox wires NOT delayed on: June 20, 2013, 02:49:41 AM
Certainty not "FUD" , at least 10+ different people reporting delays....in fact looks like you are only person I've seen reporting a quick processing time.

10+ different people?
Like 0.001 % of the overall?

If fifty actual people still use MtGox at this point it'd be a miracle.

(BTC dust "trades" don't count as people.)
1604  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Garr255/Werner - Auction shilling on: June 20, 2013, 02:49:07 AM
I would also add that how we handle situations like this could quite possibly determine the future of bitcoin commerce.  We can either blow this off as a single disruption that is harmless, or we can unite against scams like these and make an example of them.  As one person has already said, if behavior like this is tolerated, who would ever feel comfortable bidding on an auction in this forum again?

Bitcoin is rife with scams.  Let's not continue to tolerate it with faulty logic like "oh it happens all the time.  Why are you surprised?"  How about people start getting pissed about it, shunning those that do it, and start trying to make this a better place so people can conduct commerce fairly.  It's not just for our benefit, but for those who may get involved in bitcoin in the future.  It benefits all of us to see people like this publicly shamed (and I'm not talking about the way Inaba did it... I mean the RIGHT way with a scammer tag or some objective method).

The news for you would be that:

A. Nothing happening on this forum has any impact on Bitcoin anything, be it finance, commerce or etcetera.

B. Nothing a user registered a coupla months ago has to say carries any weight or importance.

Yes, I get it, you love the concept and wish to change the world. Good for you.
1605  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Garr255 and Werner = scammer trolls on: June 20, 2013, 02:47:20 AM
Unfortunately, as much as I think he is being mistreated by scumlords on this forum, I have to agree with the evidence regarding this particular event, shill bidding is most definitely scamming .

Funny thing ethical dilemmas are.

I opted to not chime in when Josh was kind enough to out him out, for I took time to read all of werner's posts and some of Garr's after the discovery. Although unsettling, I found nothing majorly nefarious, but was taken aback by the relation. Unfortunately, the accusations presented in this thread may be warranted, sans the scammer tag, for that's no longer available.

Apologies for the verbiage, but I tried to be kind in presenting how I feel.

Sadly, there's a myriad of other users controlling sock puppets in a similar fashion to also profit from their actions. Some even going as far as Garr did in their sock puppets being from one country, while the handler is clearly(?) in another. In this case it was Germany/US respectively.

Sorry, Garr. I've never had any qualms with you, and probably you none with me.

You know, the fact that your avatar has a corner underline for like half the revolution is really obnoxious. Can't you fix it?
1606  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Recieved 50GH BFL Single Today! on: June 20, 2013, 02:13:21 AM
Hey all, regarding the Werner account:
It is appalling that someone would accuse me of doing something as low as bidding up my own auctions. You make me sick.

--Garr

Then what exactly happened here? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=159808.msg1689855#msg1689855

That's a gotcha indeed.

However it doesn't make Inaba's behavior any more respectable either.

This is almost as good as the various scammer partners in Bitfinex outing each other.
1607  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Recieved 50GH BFL Single Today! on: June 19, 2013, 07:34:29 PM
So let me get this straight:

You think it's ok to say I'm a scammer.
You think it's ok to say I'm a liar.
You think it's ok to show proof that I'm a scammer and that I'm a liar.

Does that about cover it?

Yes, yes and yes.

You are a lieing piece of shit. Now go make up some imaginary 1k donations to imaginary charities for having fucked up, go bribe disreputable idiots a la coinjedi and lukejr to run your shills and all the rest of the crap.

Scammer.
1608  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Recieved 50GH BFL Single Today! on: June 19, 2013, 07:29:29 PM
This kind of angers me... BFL gives promoters the items out of line.

I have the absolute first SC Single order (#1656), and not even a shipping notification yet.

Yeah but giga is a scammer. BFL is run by scammers. Of course they support each other.
1609  Economy / Services / Re: Art contest: win some BTC, shape the visual future of Bitcoin gaming. on: June 19, 2013, 07:28:06 PM
I Humbly submit Greyhawk as an NPC. Also an SVU person. And a crayon Artist.

Where's the monocle and tophat?  Huh

You have to draw them with you own crayon.

Inspired by that monumental scammer by the name of Josh Zerlan, I expect everyone to apologize nao.
1610  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Recieved 50GH BFL Single Today! on: June 19, 2013, 07:24:37 PM
In order for me to keep my pre-orders Josh is making me do the following:

  • Apologize Publicly for calling Josh and BFL liars
  • Admit "Werner" is a sock puppet account uner my control
  • Apologize for using "Werner" to troll him

Therefore, in the best interest of Cognitive, the people who have purchased pre-orders from me, and myself:

Dear Inaba and BFL:

Sorry for calling you liars. Werner is a sock puppet account under my control. Sorry for utilizing said account to "troll" you.

                                         With regret,
                                                     Garr255

Also, I apologize to all who I may have put at risk by speculating that BFL may have been acting in a dishonest fashion. If I had known that the cancellation of orders placed by me would result of this I would not have acted in such a way, as that would be a direct violation of the fiduciary duty imposed on me by handling others' assets.

Inaba is like that guy that beats his wife in public and then forces her to tell him she loves him after he just gave her a shiner, so she can have the privilege of his company.  What a tool.

Lmao. Prime comedy rib right here.
1611  Economy / Services / Re: Art contest: win some BTC, shape the visual future of Bitcoin gaming. on: June 19, 2013, 12:18:00 PM
Holy crap, some here can really post and post and post bullshits beyond belief. What exactly is not clear to you people? Contest is about making
static art draft type, e.g. MP is not asking for image worth few days of talented artist time. Did greyhawk received 0.1337 BTC for his epic dragon
MS Paint? Yes, but it is still not ringing in your heads?

This forum is called "Bored at school" for a reason you know.

1613  Economy / Services / Re: Art contest: win some BTC, shape the visual future of Bitcoin gaming. on: June 18, 2013, 10:14:12 PM
You didnt answer my question. I asked if you advertised the contest here or your blog.

Well for fuck's sake, I tell you it's not my blog you just repeat it verbatim? Why did your mommy make you so fucking stupid?

Take this for instance: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=160858.msg1704190#msg1704190 and you can probably find it on twitter and on reddit and anywhere else retards (like you) gather. What difference does it make anyway? The idea isn't that there's some sort of agglomeration of competence on bitcointalk that's somehow magically insulated from the (much more widely read) rest of the Internet. At least I would hope you grok as much.

Ah. Dem insults. your blog, MPs blog, whatever, I got it the first time. Concept is still the same.

You do not seem to understand what is at stake between the two "contests". The first one had a payout of 10 btc. The second one has a payout of 1.3 btc to the winner, and further amounts and work for anybody deemed to have talent.

yea yea i got that

btw

You are the most unconventional PR rep I've ever encountered. lol

10/10 pr rep id rather have that then political correctness all day

Wtf fuck is wrong with the world these days. Aren't you supposed to provoke me into an Internetduel now that I've soiled your Internethonor?! Psscccchhht.
1614  Economy / Services / Re: Art contest: win some BTC, shape the visual future of Bitcoin gaming. on: June 18, 2013, 09:50:16 PM
The first one had a payout of 10 btc.

Actually to be precise it had a total payout of 15.1337 BTC. From the blogpost in question:

Quote
I am going to reward your efforts, in Bitcoin. Specifically: the best entrant will receive 10 BTC, the 2nd best will receive 3 BTC and the 3rd and 4th best 1 BTC each. Also the 7th best will receive .1337 BTC, to keep things interesting.

Anyway, for the sake of theory I've put in the work in to dig up the respective twitter announcements. The April contest: 0 retweets, 0 favorites, 1 reply. This contest: 146 retweets, 1 favorite, 0 replies. The difference might be explained by this one including a "please RT" call to action, maybe. I ain't doing the reddit digging tho.

btw

You are the most unconventional PR rep I've ever encountered. lol

Yes, it's one of those things Bitcoin is famous for. Sorta like Naples has the leaning tower and Pizza has the pepperoni and cheese. Or whatever.

1616  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: attn mods: please remove false feedback from my trust profile on: June 18, 2013, 09:21:09 PM
It's called a rebuttal, and I have screamed this to Theymos to no end. He just ignores it. Without a way to respond to negative feedback, there is no reputation system imo. It's just a slander system.

Slander system as you call it is actually the correct implementation.
1617  Economy / Services / Re: Art contest: win some BTC, shape the visual future of Bitcoin gaming. on: June 18, 2013, 09:20:41 PM
Oooh, can I break the 4th wall?

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. However, if you don't like sir Reginald Greyhawk you can propose a first name of your choice.

Unless, of course, you're about to propose Iminagameiminagameeverybodylookatme.

I don't think anyone should slave away for 22 hours. I believe there is balance, and that if it's something you love, you're not slaving away at all. I do believe in hard work however. I do not just sit on my ass. And I believe discussing my profession is important and worth spending time on.

Sokay, it's the Internet you know? People get ambushed all the time and somehow magically nobody dies of it.
1618  Economy / Securities / Re: Why are people buying asic mining shares? are they insane? on: June 18, 2013, 09:18:31 PM
You know most have read your bull there and pay no mind to you (you stopped coming after you made blatant hater predictions that ended up being wrong?). I really shouldn't bother, but...

I rarely post in most koolaid threads. This has to do with not taking the time to talk to people like you, which is to say newfags that are being idiots, rather than anything substantial.

Do carry on, you're only the what, fifth generation of sheepsies to the slaughter.
1619  Other / Meta / Re: Activity & new membergroup limits on: June 18, 2013, 09:06:07 PM
The next logical step would be to cut the status of people who haven't posted in X time interval.

You can't be a Hero if you've not posted the past week, you can't be Senior if you've not posted the past month. It'd help with the buying/hacking old accounts to prop scams.
1620  Economy / Services / Re: Crypto Communications - A Marketing and PR Firm on: June 18, 2013, 08:42:07 PM
The community has been very receptive! We are always here to talk about bitcoins and help you understand the best way for your company to get the word out.

If you say so.

Running a few specials to help get new bitcoin companies off the ground. PM for more details.

Being less vague would perhaps draw actual interest. Who is working for you (name people, if they have names in the business)? Where can you get stories (name venues - put the Times in there I might care)?
