Needless to say, this argument can be easily made against bitcoin in favour of existing fiat money institutions. And yet we still believe that a superior technology can rise and overcome, no? No, that argument cannot be made against bitcoin in favour of existing money institutions because central banking is tremendously inefficient when compared to cryptocurrency. Efficiency trumps all, even network effect. Altcoins will never be meaningfully more efficient than Bitcoin, because they are built on the same technological foundation.

I have come to the conclusion that bitcoin is fatally flawed and that is why the value of bitcoin has falled this year so much.
I have come to the conclusion that you are not the sharpest knife in the drawer. And since I AM the sharpest knife in the drawer, I'm probably right.

$2000 gaming PC from newegg, saved hundreds and that's NOT accounting for the fact that my btc cost average was less than half of what btc is worth today.

You know, copyright infringement is forbidden in just about every country in the world, and yet there stands the Pirate Bay, proud and thriving.

Well, let's not start sucking each other's dicks quite yet.

95% of miners are suddenly offline. Be it a new law or an EMP strike. What would happen to bitcoin? ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) It would suddenly (and briefly) become extremely profitable to mine and every person with any mining ability (from videocard to asic) would mine. The system would adapt and within days if not hours it would be back to previous hashrate.

Bitcoin is money an information. The free flow of information is and must always be protected as speech. Let me repeat that, money is now information, and it absolutely is "free speech".
Any laws which attempt to impinge upon that speech must be fiercely resisted and disobeyed by all free people

Someday one cryptocurrency or another is going to be pretty much the standard for interplanetary trade.
I am far more optimistic about the success of bitcoin than I am about the success of the human species long term.

Here's a rationale provided by Kevin Dowd, University of Durham Similar concerns have been expressed by our BTC community in recent times. What I'm looking for is logical input from you guys, whether he is right or wrong? I will approach Kevin with arguments/rebuttals and post his response here, thanks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qlydjg1tiso Wrong. You're welcome.

What is the probability that the reason for the non movement of Satoshi coins is that the private key has been lost?
Extremely slim would be my guess. Satoshi isn't moving coins because he doesn't need to. He's leading by example.
