GUYS, STOP WASTING YOUR TIME.

THIS COIN HAS BEEN DEAD FOR MONTHS, ITS NEVER COMING BACK.

If the "GUYS" referred to are the pump and dump scam artists, yes please "STOP WASTING YOUR TIME"

we are using too much good energy fighting bad people with who are hell bent on hurting innocent people.

To anyone that believes EMC2 is dead, dying, or otherwise a poor investment risk, please let me know how many EMC2 you want to sell, I will prepare an offer to buy your holdings within hours.

I'm looking to sell at least 1 million EMC2. What's your price + exchange? Lets get this done.

The current public weighted market average for EMC2 is 58 sat.

Based solely on "Crypto Gekko"'s  past comments regarding EMC2, someone would need to pay me $1M to make an offer to anyone with such a negative public opinion of EMC2.

Given that I strongly suspect that Crypto Gekko is Bobsurplus I present the following:

If you were the old Bobsurplus who had great love for the coin, I would offer that Bobsurplus 75 sat (~50% over public market) for each EMC2 of the 1 million coins.  But for some unknown reason that Bobsurplus has changed into a different Bobsurplus, one who has become an abject EMC2 detractor, to that Bobsurplus I present you with the following offer: 25 sat for each EMC2 of the 1 million coins.

The above private offer remains valid for 8 hrs from the time of posting unless rejected or withdrawn.

Does anyone know where I could find a comprehensive comparative market analysis tool that would allow me to consider many different coins at a glance?

OP, what, if anything, are you using as an index to gauge general market direction?

Thanks for your question, there is no index per se, I'm looking for common denominators vs anomalies so that I find strengths and weaknesses

The current market cap system ranks in terms of total capitalization, with is good, however we all firstly look at the markets in terms of satoshi price, so the question would be, 'how these 5 coins compare sat-wise if they all had the same coin supply availability.

I want to be able to categorize certain coins based on specific performance indicators, for example, of all the coins that had an average vol between .99 and 2 btc, how many of them were above 2 btc vol for 3 consecutive days prior.   That may be a high factor indication of a coin experiencing a momentary slump.

Ideally, I want to be able to punch in the 3 letter codes of the coins then select various comparison options.

CryptoCarmen and scv00 thanks for the contributions however I need something more substantive

Do you have a specific project that relates to science and are looking for a support partner, if so call on Einsteinium we will do what we can to forward your project.

Support partners usually will pledge to retweet, provide comments, likes, small donations, and endorsements for specific events they choose to get involved with.

Einsteinium is a 'cause coin' we seek to provide funding for science endeavors, we are seeking project partners for small projects involving: educational science. science fairs, science instructors (teachers, professors, mentors, etc ...), or anything else that has a heavy science influence.

Thank you for your dedication.

I have spent the past few hours working on a new category for coins for the website, country coins, and it is now complete.

http://cryptodatabase.net/coins-country

Would love to see  "cause coins",  "ethical coins", or "conscious coins" we at EMC2 would like to do joint projects with them, you help in this regard would be much appreciated.

thanks

Possibly at a later time, as it would take me a while to sort through 1000+ coins and get the right ones for each section by myself. The country coins wasn't that much work as I knew there wasn't that many of them.

There are hundreds of cause type coins, coins like charitycoin, aidcoin, aidbit etc etc and would take a long time to gather up.

Ethical coins is really a diverse issue on what is classified as ethical, would need specifications of what type for this.

1632  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is there a way/method to buy bitcoins using paypal? on: September 21, 2014, 05:27:35 AM
I used to sell bitcoins for payment by paypal before on Localbitcoins but stopped cos its ridiculous!..got chargeback claims up to 2 months later and even when i responded to paypal and submitted proof of transaction they totally ignored it and proceeded with the chargeback! From what I see..as long as it concerns bitcoins paypal doesn't give seller protection. But to answer your question..yeah you can try localbitcoins as there are a lot of ads selling btc with payment by paypal.

That is a case that should be easily won in court.  Not just against the buyer, but also against paypal.   If you did the right thing you should be able to connect the dots, and the blockchain will be your best witness.   If you did it outside of paypal's rules, but you know that the buyer received the money, you will still win against the buyer.

Hello and welcome to Crypto Database's BitCoinTalk thread.

Our overall goal is to create the largest list and collection of crypto currencies out there, and we have done it! No other site contains more coins than ours as of this moment and we are still adding in more information.

So far we have been able to find 1,100+  coins.

You can view faucets for your favorite coins, view their prices with a simple search and pretty soon we will add in every mining pool out there.

Come on in and check us out, http://cryptodatabase.net

All suggestions and opinions are welcome, websites do not grow otherwise.

Please leave a review below and I will add it to my upcoming review page. Good or bad it will be added unless it is just a troll post.

If you have a new coin and want it to be listed please post it below and I will add it.

Thanks for this, we (EMC2) are interested in knowing all of the ethical coins -- coins with a cause.    Would you happen to have that category?

If you are needing a website for your coin we now offer the option to host it on a subdomain on our website. Check out http://cryptodatase.net/host.php

is this offer still available?

Here is some more info about their voting system
https://www.coinpayments.net/help-charity-vote

CoinPayments Charity Coin Vote
Building on our experiences in our previous public votes and after weighing our options, we have decided to hold this public coin vote off of our usual forum. This should open it up to even more people since they won't have to register for an account there.

This time we've also turned the vote into a charity drive for Sean's Outpost. Each vote will require a donation of 0.001 BTC (or LTC/DOGE equivalent) with a side effect of helping deter paid vote manipulation.

Rules
Only 1 vote is allowed per person. Additional votes will replace your earlier votes.
Votes determined to be fraudulent or paid-for will not be refunded (the funds will of course still be donated to the charity). Doing any of the following will disqualify your vote: (Sorry we have to take such a hard line on this, we just have rampant cheating during each vote.)
Starting a vote then having someone else do the donation.
Placing a vote then getting a reimbursement or reward of any value (for example: crypto or fiat currency, access to a site that normally requires payment, coupons or discounts, etc.)
Using Tor or similar = automatic disqualify (during our last vote we only had 3 valid votes from Tor users)
IPs listed in HTTP:BL or other spambot/botnet blacklist = automatic disqualify
This is not a complete list, anything that violates the spirit of the rules will be disqualified.
Remember: This vote is not about trade volume (a lot of that volume is people trading the coin for BTC/LTC or to hold for long term investment) or which coin backers have the biggest advertising budgets; it is about how many people genuinely want to purchase items using a particular coin.

Transparency
We will not collect any fees on the donations, 100% of the proceeds will go to Sean's Outpost. Once the vote is over we will follow this procedure so anyone can verify we made the donation:
Any LTC and DOGE collected will be converted to BTC via Cryptsy at the then-current exchange rate and added to the BTC collected directly.
We will post the BTC, LTC, and DOGE totals at http://pastebin.com/ and on this page. This will provide a permanent timestamped reference of what we will send to Sean's Outpost.
The next day (since Pastebin only shows the date of the post) we will send the BTC to Sean's Outpost at http://seansoutpost.com/donate-2 and post the transaction IDs on this page.
We will ask Sean's Outpost to tweet or provide other verification of the donation.

Here is a related vid:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ttgl8HRCA1A

Remember, before we get to vote we must work to get the coin on the ballot =  https://www.coinpayments.net/coinreq

Hi all

we are looking at getting EMC2 added to https://www.coinpayments.net so websites can use their payment gateway to accept Einsteinium coin.

At this stage, we firstly need to get onto their 'Public Vote' list. We would really appreciate community support to get us onto this list (the form will ask you to add some basic technical info on EMC2 which can be found on the first post in this thread).

If any of you can spare a few minutes, can you please go to https://www.coinpayments.net/coinreq and request EMC2 be added to their vote list.

use above image as a guide at the following:  https://www.coinpayments.net/coinreq   to nominate EMC2 as an official currency for hundreds of stores that coinpayments.net provides services for we need many nominations in order to qualify.  This isn't something only a few people can do, community involvement is necessary for nomination, as well as the vote process after nomination.

1635  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EMC2] Einsteinium | Funding the future with the future of currency on: September 19, 2014, 04:53:11 PM
Its good to see that armis et al  Wink have taken over. What I would like to know is, if there is any general plan what this coin is going to be about? I am feeling like cryptoworld has been running after features, treating things like anonymous transaction like the holy grail without realising that those features are completely useless for 99% of the users right now. I understand that altcoins are kind of a play-ground to show what is possible, so this is to be expected.

If you look around cryptoworld, more and more coins are created, that claim to have actual usability besides the odd shop where you can spend them (thats still important though).  Emc2 started with the (back then) unique idea to fund science. Are you planning to pick that up again or something completely different? There still is the 2.5% mining tax?

Thanks for your questions,  the coin was and continues to be about doing what we can to improve science, this presupposes many things:
- that the coin exists,
- that the community supports the coin,
- that the coin is responsibly lead,
- that we have the human resources to manage it,
- that we are able to maintain the coin's upkeep,
- that we are able to be effective with the monetary and human resources available,
many of those things were in doubt, weak, or ineffective.  So the first plan was to stop the bleeding of equity and to restore the basic vitals of the coin -- goal accomplished.

The 2.5% mining tax is good if the coin is worth 1000+ sat, but is impracticable at 100 sat, in my personal estimation the tax should not be triggered until EMC2's value is 1000 sat across 3 major markets for at least a week.  But we are not rewriting rules as of yet, at this point we are working with the hand dealt to us.

Project funding was turned off for a long while, we turned it back on only days into our administration.  We asked the community for project nominations, and we asked for volunteers to help us find projects to fund.  Two days ago, 1 person agreed to volunteer to help us find a youtube channel dedicated to science that could be sponsored by EMC2.   From our list of about 100 names we hope to find 2 that we could sponsor.   The anticipated cost is 10,000 EMC2 per sponsored video, 2 vid max a week.     This allows us a measure of impact given the present financial state of the coin.

If everyone that owns EMC2 volunteered only 4 hours a week to the cause the coin would easily be worth 0.00010000 btc per EMC2.

Here's a perfect example of how we would use volunteers efficiently and effectively:
1) compile a list of 10,000 middle and high schools around the world,
2) contact all of the schools on the list to inquire about being a sponsor at their science fair,
3) select 10 people from all of the science fairs sponsored, to receive a project award, hopefully they are located in all different regions of the world,
contact media to provide good coverage of the event
4) encourage all listed schools to organize EMC2 clubs; clubs learn about CC, mining, the build rigs, write code, and even make some money for their school,
5) for a set of schools that we feel are deserving we provide each with a computer so that they could mine EMC2, we also provide them with a sponsorship mining pool, as the school mines EMC2 they also receive pool donations.  These schools will be primarily selected based on financial need, EMC2 club participation, and science fair sponsorship.
6) for each of the individual schools in another set of schools we create a crowd funding campaign to provide each school with the equipment necessary to make a very powerful rig to enable the school to mine EMC2, these schools would likely be the most engaged EMC2 clubs
7) each event be publicized, depending on the size of the event we will request greater coverage.  From the point that we receive our first school to sponsor, or notice of our first EMC2 club we will seek someone to document it on film to create a EMC2 documentary showing how CC can improve life, science, education and income.

We need volunteers.

You mentioned a store; a store that uses EMC2 is coming soon and is expected to benefits the coin and the community in many ways:

1) Donation - 40% of net paid fee from this site are donated to the  care and development of EMC2.
2) Currency Validation - when you buy or sell EMC2 using some other currency (btc) to facilitate the transaction, the btc is the currency and the EMC2 is the commodity.  When you use EMC2 at the store to buy a test tube, EMC2 is a currency(the medium of exchange of goods or services).
3) Branding - expect to see some very special EMC2 items: coin, clothing, science equipment.  Also, many other types of goods and services. and
4) Destination Location - very competitive rates for science related items.  So the science community will have many reasons to learn about EMC2.

A formal announcement will be made when there are items to sell.
1636  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / BAD News Day For EMC2 on: September 19, 2014, 12:36:53 AM
Today is a bad news day for sure for EMC2 here's why:

- Poor Test Results For New Wallet (aka Ryan's wallet)
- The EMC2 Market Nose Dive

The parting gifted to the community that was provided by Ryan was extensively tested, we are sorry to report that although it is esthetically stunning it failed to perform as expected or to a standard above our existing wallet.  A more comprehensive review will be provided in the upcoming "Report To The Community" message.

As of the posting of this message EMC2 has taken an EXTREME nose dive at all of the markets, mintpal seems to have dropped the lowest from 72 to 43 -- pure insanity.  At the time of this message Mintpal is reporting a last price of 43 sat.   Now its one thing to buy at that ridiculously low, low price, but it makes absolutely no good financial sense to sell at that price.   Any price below 65 sat for EMC2 at this time is a super bargain.   I'll detail why EMC2 should not sell too low in the upcoming "Report To The Community" message.

EMC2 mgmt is monitoring all markets at all times.  If anyone has a desire to sell any amount of EMC2 for anything less than 50 sat please let us know, selling that low publicly at this time in our redevelopment damages the coin.

Now is a perfect time to remind the community of The Guardians

The Guardians [name subject to change] is a group of EMC2 holders who are committed to the structural integrity and financial viability of EMC2.

It is a private list of individual investors who can be called on to buy EMC2 at a moment's notice when large volumes of EMC2 are offered up privately for sale.   This system will serve to prevent, slow, or halt panic sell-offs.

It is currently open to all, but will eventually be prioritized based on dependable and ability:  track record of program performance, tenure of unused funds, amount of unused funds, community engagement (volunteer),  and response time, financial ability.

Using today's panic sell-off for example.  If those sellers contacted us before they sold at such low rates we probably would have gotten them more money than they received on the open market.   If you are going to sell, please don't hurt yourself and please don't hurt the coin, please sell at reasonable rates.

This tool is a financial security feature that checks unjustified negative downturns that easily result in panic sales far below rational levels.   If you see a big drop in price, before you sell contact us.

This is currently a free service but whenever it changes the fee charged will be lower than if the transaction was conducted at Mintpal, Cryptsy, or Poloniex.

If you want to be an EMC2 Guardian please contact one of the admins we have 8 seats remaining.

Armis, what plans do you have for a shopping cart? I talked to OldMiner about this a little earlier in the thread, for the record I'm no PHP programmer in the slightest but I would really like to see an altcoin pick this up.

Lethn, thanks for the question, I presume it is regarding Einsteinium.biz since it is the closest possible project related to shopping.  If so, there are no immediate plans for a shopping cart, the order process will be rudimentary: customer merchandise inquiry via email, biz invoice reply, customer payment for order.

In an ideal situation the EMC2 community recognizes all of its resources and maximizes each to enable the whole community to enjoy greater benefits across the board.  EMC2 is much more than a commodity to buy or sell, it is a currency to use to buy and sell OTHER things, it is also a way to enable EMC2 clubs at schools to reduce education expenses ...

With that said, your idea is brilliant, how can we help you to make your bright idea shine brighter for everyone?

1640  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Report To The EMC2 Community on: September 15, 2014, 04:01:26 AM
Report To The EMC2 Community

Progress
2 weeks in, EMC2 is moving solidly in the right direction:

EMC2 Is Getting Promoted
Thanks to the generosity of Praxiscat (administrator emerita) and Sashorx (CTO of TitanBIT.net) the Poloniex Giveaway fundraiser was a success,
the campaign raised a total of 100,000. EMC2.  The 50,000 EMC2 balance necessary to meet the minimum requirement has been contributed from
EMC2 Trust Funds budgeted for that purpose.

This new administration's first official payment - 150,000 EMC2 to Poloniex, will be issued as 3 50,000 EMC2 payments (the Trust fund has a
maximum transaction payment limit).   It should be noted that the functionality of the wallet did not, and does not, permit us to exercise an ideal
level of accountability and responsibility.   We are unable to issue the self auditing payment (all out and back in), and we are unable to create
multi-sig from our side of the transaction.

The Poloniex Giveaway will start this week.

Everyone is encouraged to take part in, by taking part of, the giveaway.

Bits of Good News
1st escrow account - our first escrow account is now in place, we are working on adding others primarily because the Trust Fund account is so
difficult to manage.  This account will likely be used to maintain the .5% part of the 2.5% mining tax.  A different escrow accounts will be used
to hold funds between trading partners for private transactions.

Block Explorer is back - we contacted the site owner about: https://altexplorer.net/chain/Einsteinium, at the time it was not generating updated data,
we are please to report that the app has been updated and is reporting fine.  We are working on having the major typo corrected -- did you notice it?
We are still working on a way to track trust funds as you can see it is not reporting accurately: https://altexplorer.net/address/EKnqTC9XEuucZEhD3miDGnbJxBptcxhByA
the file is too big for normal system searches which is also why it is so difficult to manage.

A New Exchange? - yes it is true, we added a new exchange to the list.  Unlike our major exchanges, Saso Mezgeck, CTO of TitanBIT LTD (www.titanbit.net)
invested in EMC2, and has sponsored our first promotion.  We appreciate his engagement and hope good business could come from this.   We're going to look
into opening an escrow account there, if so we will do a comprehensive analysis and review of the exchange.

Paper Wallet Generator -  according to this video   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9eTkiGGzOME  you can go to this site: www.cryptolife.net/upwg to
generate paper wallets.

Investment
We are constantly putting measures in place to facilitate safer investing with EMC2, currently we have:

 - market monitoring,  we are constantly looking for significant indications that can adversely effect the coin or community;
 - the valuation report, tells you specifically what EMC2 management believes about the value of EMC2 that very day, allowing you to make informed choices;
 - the Guardians, a group of EMC2 holders who can be called on to buy EMC2 privately at a moment's notice when large volumes of EMC2 are offered up for sale.
This serves to blunt the effects of malicious dumps that often result in panic sell-offs.

Valuation
We believe a well informed investor is the best hope for the financial security of the EMC2 community, and the coin itself.
Periodically, and at critical points, we will provide a brief assessment of what we individually feel EMC2 is worth at the time of the report.
Market indicators are pointing to this being a very active week for EMC2 as such we are providing this valuation report.

The question is: "What is EMC2 worth Monday Sept. 15, 2014?":

Oldminer said: "I still consider EMC2 to be highly under-valued & oversold. In that regard, I still expect the
coin's value to increase dramatically in the near future.  My current valuation for EMC2 is 200+ satoshis..."

Djnocide said:  "the value should be around 100 satoshis, the community respond positively to
the actions taken by the board members.  Everything is falling into place to put this coin back on its feet. it hold a greater value
but we need put everything in place for it to reach it."

Armis said:   "in my opinion today EMC2 is worth 125 sat, additionally, because the market is eagerly
anticipating 150 sat I expect relatively high volume, regardless of price, all this week, perhaps the highest seen in over 100 days.
Although I'm encouraged by market indications,  I don't believe the current market can support a value above 175 sat, I think if rates
