Here's the reason.

1642  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who or what moron is buying dash at these prices on: March 16, 2017, 08:33:29 PM

Here you go folks.

These are the reasons for the rise. No pumper "exit" nonsense, no "scam expansion", no....[fill in your favourite green-eyed imaginary scheme here].

Just plain old hard work, good design decisions and....essential ingredient....survival time Wink

1643  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dash.. but why? on: March 16, 2017, 08:24:35 PM

Dash is a scam. PERIOD!

First of all, some entertainment:

Secondly, some information:

There are plenty reasons to justify the rise. Firstly, it was on the cards for weeks. Dash has traded for 3 years in an increasingly more regular bull bear pattern on the 21 week trading chart. There have been 4 crossovers of the 21 week EMA to bull market during that time. The most recent crossed at twice the level of last years, indicating a steadily growing base of long term holders who see Dash's fundamentals as increasingly unique and relevant:

 • addressing transaction times at the low confirmation end of the spectrum
 • addressing the "useability" barrier that prevents crypto from reaching the masses
 • addressing fungibility/privacy without doing so at the expense of its transparent blockchain or bitcoin commercial ecosystem compatibility
 • addressing sustainable governance and funding

There simply isn't any other cryptocurrency asset with all these in combination and decoupled along the right monetary design lines for sustained growth and adoption. Also, compare how Dash has traded for 3 years to another well known currency....the writing was on the wall.

In addition to that...hashrate is getting priced in also:

....adoption is getting priced in:

...and finally current roadmap and successful hardfork implementing the foundation for Dash Evolution is getting priced in

What happened to your "we can do both..." post ?

That was starting to have a nice rhythm to it.

Wish i had masternodes "would love to sell them asap" Tongue we all know its going to happen the question is when

Funny.

In 2014/15 the attack line was "masternode collateral will centralise and accumulate in the hands of the few".

Now it's "people will sell their masternodes - we all know its going to happen".

Just shows you there's a line for everyone in Dash Wink

This model doesn't work!

PhD in economics right?

I assume that the last time this guy has seen maths was at elementary school

I think it's just that after 2 years of dismissive trolling didn't work, he thought he might get round to quietly asking some tentative questions. (Albeit thinly disguised as dismissive trolling  Cheesy )

There is still a risk. Overtaking bitcoin looks like a dream.

It will take years...but we are coming...

I don't think many people fully understand the complexity of this concept - "overtaking bitcoin". There are so many dimensions to it.

I've always been a "bitcoin maximalist' in the sense that I don't believe it will loose its status as the primary reserve cryptocurrency and ultimate store of value. (The one that grows slow but always grows, never shrinks in the long run).

But at the same time, I've been aware that there's no conflict between that and another crypto exceeding Bitcoin's marketcap. In fact I fully expect that to be the case - probably more than one.

In the fiat world, the credit markets dwarf the base money supply that 'backs them' by about 30:1 in some cases. With Bitcoin, if things go core's way and it consolidates its role as a store of value rather than the "Roger Ver" vision where it's dynamic and liquid in a commercial sense, then it's almost a cert that its cap will be exceeded by a so called "meta-currency" that is more customer facing and adoption friendly.

The other side of that "coin" though, is that the commercial work-horse currencies will potentially come & go. So even though Bitcoin may have its cap exceeded it could still outlast everything else.

Therefore, it isn't just a straight case of "overtaking bitcoin". There are aspects in which it can be overtaken and aspect in which it can't IMO. We should be aware of the complexity of this and the distinct roles that different cryptocurrencies are starting to adopt in the ecosystem. They may be more complimentary and less competitive than we think as the moment.

1649  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: March 15, 2017, 10:10:53 PM

Are you saying you think Dash is better than Monero - at least in this respect?

No. I'm saying you can't compare their approaches to 'privacy'. Each is appropriate to its respective blockchain's design priority and works in that respect. Dash's was to retain bitcoin compatability - in particular with respect to staying a transparent chain.

Monero's was to provide a fully encrypted transacting environment where the significant transaction attributes are only accessible to the participating parties. If Dash adopted a Cryptonote approach, it would loose a central plank of its value basis. If Monero adopted Dash's approach it would suffer similarly. So there's no battle to be won there - each has the type of privacy that's consistent with its respective monetary model.
1650  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: March 15, 2017, 08:07:19 PM

If we just are thinking about the best fungible (private) crypto. Monero Wins On That, No Question, Game Over, End Of Story...They've ceded that point

I don't often post in here. But for the record, that point is well and truly not ceded as far as this investor is concerned.

I have held Monero since almost day 1 of its existence and Dash from a bit before. There's never been any doubt in my mind about which was more "fungible" because for me, "fungibility" is meaningless unless you're talking about a transparent blockchain with visible balances independently of whether anyone happens to hold a private key or not.

Blockchain transparency (not obscurity) is what sustains authenticity & confidence and confidence is what sustains value if the asset is otherwise unbacked. I appreciate that posters in this thread prefer their blockchains encrypted. I've no problem with that since there are markets to cater for everyone's preference. Just don't pretend you've won some kind of 'battle' when you're not even on the same battlefield.

That said, it takes less than 100 masternodes to completely crash the market.

...for about 5 seconds.
1652  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: March 15, 2017, 06:04:45 PM

Monero is so privacy centric that nobody knows who the developers are.

That's what you think.

They are tied up.

They're "tied up" by their owners, not by the blockchain.

Just like bonds are "tied up" and most other investment assets are "tied up" by their owners. In Dash's case they are doing work by securing the network. The network pays a return for that lending.
1658  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: March 15, 2017, 03:13:01 PM

Superior market manipulation. Tie up most of existing coins in masternodes

No coins are tied up in masternodes. This is a much perpetrated myth.

By this aggressive marketing

A couple of projects spring to mind where the marketing is "aggressive". Dash isn't one of them.

What if Bitcoin society agrees on scalability without a hard fork?

It already has agreed. "Bitcoin society" is a company called blockstream, for better of worse. Their strategies for Bitcoin have been published publicly for some time.

You need to do your own research...You must decide for yourself whether or not Dash is a scam.

You don't say.  Roll Eyes
