I made a mistake with this poll, head over to the new one; https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=894096.0

Thread Link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=894043.0

If you would like to see more voting options simply post in this thread the desired specs you would like to see and I will add them to the poll.

Option 8:
20M = 7.74M for old coins exchange (10:1) + 2.26M for bounties + 10M for faucet (40k/hour x 250 hours, ends in 10,5 days).

Option 9:
20M = 10M for old coins exchange (10:1) + 2M for bounties + 10M for faucet (40k/hour x 250 hours, ends in 10,5 days).

Happy Voting!

After we have accumulated a substantial amount of votes I will change the poll to ask weather we allow the exchange of old FindYouCoins to FindCoins and other questions people want answered.

I tried this but my wallets wouldn't connect to peers. Which proxies did you use?
Basically "socks proxies".
Well, I checked the bitcoin's wiki page; https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Running_Bitcoin#Command-line_arguments
It was saying that I needed to use Socks proxies.
" -proxy=<ip:port>       Connect through SOCKS proxy"
So I went to the hide my ass, http://proxylist.hidemyass.com/
and filtered the proxies according to the protocol.

Probably you've tried with http(s) proxies that's why it didn't work for you...
I'm sure I tried SOCKS. I just didn't use hidemyass' proxies. Thanks for the info.

is the wallet is same as findyoucoin wallet?

99% same (proxy bug will be fixed, thanks to cakir); any new features will be added in later versions.
it's mean that i can use my findyou wallet to use as faucet from findcoin

No - ports will be differrent; your old FindYouCoin wallet just won't connect to new coin's network/faucet
Buy we may let you trade in existing FindYouCoins for FindCoins.
in what exchange?

No exchanges - we don't want to put new coin on exchanges yet. So it will be manual exchange - for example, you send me FindYouCoins and I'll send you new FIND coins back.
ok i see, about findcoin wallet where i can download it?
It hasn't been released yet. We are still working on sorting out the details such as coin reward, distribution duration and if we are going to let holders of FindYouCoin exchange their coins to FindCoins.

Also, I just updated the OP.

I changed the perspective of the "About" section; "I" to "We" and "Me" to "Us" etc.

The wallet will have faucet distribution built into it so that you will receive coins each hour, however an exploit discovered by cakir will be fixed. Read more about the exploit here.

We may or may not also be exchanging existing FindYouCoins for FindCoins. We are currently discussing the exchange rate and if we are even going to do this at all.

Well done Mr. Spread!

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg9842069#msg9842069

Man, I'm feeling better and better about owning SPR!
More and more DRK fans may join SPR. Grin

I'll be running DRK and SPR Masternodes side by side on all my VPS instances. Plus a few new ones... Smiley

(Don't worry guys, setting up and running a Masternode is really easy.)
so exactly what is a masternode? and what does it cost to own one? Also do we need to mine this coin to have a msternode? Also what would the price be for a masternode 500 SpreadCoin for each one?
.
Here is a great explanation on what a masternode is and how it works... Basically everything you need to know.

https://darkcointalk.org/threads/darkcoin-update-masternode-requirements-masternode-payments.225/

Edit:
What's so good about having a masternode?

i cant wait to not buy this
Yes, it's great, isn't it! You don't need to buy anything because your wallet automatically gives you coins for free every hour!  Wink

Edit
Oh I see what you did there.  Grin   I guess you do need to wait for the faucet to give you the coins, if you consider that "buying".

But seriously though, why so people like you say stuff like this?

1690  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Pre-ANN][FIND] FindCoin - Faucet Distribution on: December 15, 2014, 04:27:03 AM
I've already wrote a vulnerability about it here; https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=888938.0

Check this out. Faucet distrubitions can be easily manipulated.

Remember to remove "-proxy" option before building wallet-qt...
This will be taken into account when building the wallets.

This is also very interesting. I tried to do this but my wallets would not connect to anyone. Which proxies did you use?
1691  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Pre-ANN][FIND] FindCoin - Faucet Distribution on: December 15, 2014, 04:20:29 AM
Please note; I did not write the "About FindCoin". I merely edited it and fixed the spelling/grammar mistakes.

If you have FindYouCoins on an exchange it is recommended that you withdraw your coins to a wallet in your control to prevent loss of coins due to the delisting of FindYouCoin. You can then, when the time comes, exchange these coins for Findcoins.

About FindCoin
We are all fed up with scammers. We want to see their faces, and some of them behind bars. Let's put a bounty dedicated to those who are willing to conduct an investigation.

Findcoin was created with a sole purpose to raise such a bounty as a reward for the deanonymization of certain "developers". We don't care if this coin gains zero value or even hits an exchange at all, but instead our intention are to create a symbol, a banner for everyone in the community that want those people to be found and brought to legally applicable justice.

This coin is dedicated to all who fell victim to the countless scams and is also a place to conduct research about developers who used our trust to earn money they never deserved. We realize that we cannot do this on our own but we hope that community unites here and produces some good results.

What we propose is to create crypto-currency with only one purpose - fund bounties for the info about scam devs. No matter how much volume this coin gets, it will always remain as a symbolic reward for the effors of those who care. We aren't telling you to do something bad to these people, no. However we deserve the right to find them and know their real identities and gather proof and evidence and perhaps one day some of them will regret what they did to us.

To fulfill our idea we created a coin and faucet that will giveaway *most?* of the money supply to anyone willing to accept it. Everyone can get coins for free and will be able to donate them as a bounty for the info about their most hated developers. Someone smart enough to find a developer's credentials will receive that bounty after the provision of certain proofs - then all of the information will be published. When and if someone becomes deanonymized, everyone will know how they can support this effort, and invest in something that ensures a safe environment for the rest of us.

Why don't you guys just gather BTC's?
We've been here long enough. We know how most fundraisers turn out. You pay someone BTCs for a good cause and next day watch as the publish pictures of them self in a bathrobe somewhere in the hotel spending your hard earned money on the vodka and chicks. We could promise you anything but we do not expect someone to believe us and you are no exception. Instead, let this coin be in your wallets and outside of the market for the time being. There will be no mining costs and no efforts required to acquire these coins. Let it stay with you until some scammer, or at least someone is found. At that very moment you will know which coin you should invest in to reward those who ensured your security and exposed frauds. Let's come up with a blacklist of scam-coins, let's gather what we have in one place and let's pursue those things and find them.

We invite everyone to participate in this initiative, update research and explore every possible bit of information about these scam-coins and their developers.
Submit coin names with links on scam threads and we will keep track of it. We will also try to sort out all of information about the progress. Let's do it together. Every bit counts, tell us how many coins scammed, what you know about the developer, post links and post evidence. Be active and eventually we will find these horrible people.

Distribution
?% of FIND will be distributed via in-wallet faucet. All you have to do is just keep your wallet running to receive the funds. By doing so you will also be supporting the FIND network.

If the dev has been inactive for the last 15 days then who is deleting our posts!!?

This post will probably get deleted. I'm about to start a new thread. Is that ok with everyone?

The Spreadcoin dev is reviewing the Darkcoin code and just posted this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=715435.msg9839488#msg9839488

Mr.spread, what's status of masternode and darksend developmnet?
It is far from ready yet but I think I found a potential vulnerability in DarkCoin which allows miners (actually pools) to not pay part of the block reward to masternodes.
DarkCoin wallet checks the following things for each new block:
1) There is a payment to master node.
2) There is a payment with the same amount as a payment to master node should be (30%).
But there is no check that this is the same payment. This means that if you generate a block you can pay 0.0000001 DRK to masternode and pay 30% and (70% - 0.0000001 DRK) to yourself as separate coinbase outputs. Such blocks should be accepted by DarkCoin network but I haven't tested it on testnet so I can't be 100% sure.
I don't want any vulnerabilities out the wild so thought I'd check here.  This is what happens when "Enforcement" is off, right?  Or is this a separate issue and potential vulnerability?

Patched:  https://github.com/darkcoin/darkcoin/commit/ee8174a2c690b995003449a046b036d87ae25b5d  (sorry, trimmed space after every line)

Compiling 10.17.24 now, feel free to update from source

Excellent work once again, Mr. Duffield, bug spotted, bug squashed in short order...
Don't forget to thank Mr. Spread for discovering the bug! Smiley
1699  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [FIND] FindYou Coin - Faucet Distribution on: December 15, 2014, 12:19:16 AM
What about if we mix both "coin swap" (keep old FIND enthusiast satisfied) and "no coin swap" (don't let old coins' holders take over the new coin) ?

Like, we exchange old coins for new ones 10:1 (reserving 7.74M for exchange), but we'll have not 10M, but 20M new coins? So we'll keep old coins community rewarded, but not let them take over the new coin?

There's one point I'd like to make with new coin: even if new FIND coin somehow dies of some PnD, or because of any other 3rd party efforts - like, new coin's price will hit 1 sat, and coin will be delisting - there should be message for FIND enthusiasts that even in that case it's not over yet  Wink

If somehow new FIND will fail - we have to consider such risks since no coin is safe - we'll just create new iteration of FIND with "old coins => new coins" exchange, so it'll provide some stability for anyone who would like to invest their time, money or efforts in FIND on the long run.

Good coins (and communities behind them) shouldn't die just because of some pump&dump jerks  Smiley

And I like the idea of reserving, say, 10% of emission for coin growth bounties.

22M coins total, minus 2M coins for bounties (blockexplorer, richlist, translations, promo, coding features for new wallet versions), minus 7.74M coins for exchange = 12,26M coins to distribute via in-wallet faucet.

25% annual PoS is also great thing, I'd like to vote on that.

How about you acknowledge your failed investment, take the loss, and let this shitcoin die?  Failed investments happen all the time.  It's time to "pull the plug", "He's dead, Jim"

How about you stop posting to this thread since you have zero interest in this coin? Wink
I have interest in this coin but for some reason my posts keep getting deleted.
I complained about how my post got deleted and then that complaint get deleted! If this gets deleted then WTF!

I'm really sorry about this.
Not necessarily, while address format is the same, private key format is different, it is necessary to convert it, I will try to do it.
