You can pickup a R9-380X for NewEgg for $215, free shipping: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125836&ignorebbr=1 also has a $10 rebate (limit 1) to knock it down to $205. As far as recommending the older cards, yes they will work and if you are worried about only the initial investment they might work out better if you can get a good price. Unfortunately, with the resurgence of GPU mining, even the used market has gone up in price quite a bit. One thing to consider though, is with a new card such as the linked R9-380x, it will retain a higher resale value and will come with a manufacturers warranty. The Gigabyte model listed comes with 3 years, so assuming you use it to mine for a year, you can offer peace of mind to the subsequent purchaser which will also fetch a slightly higher price. If you go used, putting another year on an already used card that is out of manufacturers warranty will probably be close to worthless for resale by the time you decide to get rid of it. So if you do go used, make sure it is at a decent discount, at least by half of its original cost. So comparing it to the card I linked above, you would need to pick up a used R9-280X for less than $107.50 shipped. Of course the used card would probably be out of the warranty period and if it was used for mining before the components may already be stressed to the point of failing the first time it gets a bit warm or a power surge rolls through (think thunder storm), etc. Anyway, if you can swing it I am thinking sticking with new cards with the intent of reselling them later is the best. Just be sure to keep this in mind and keep all the boxes, accessories, connectors, etc. tucked safely away and in good condition. If anyone only focus on Eth then R9 380x will be a good choice. New card, suitable price and adequate warranty period. But this card will not work good for other algo like x11 x13 (may be) coz they are not optimized yet

i just will keep the coin. Yah it is true that i do not know pumping dumping as I have started the exchange activities just now. but i think, holding the coin, not selling at damn lowest price is also a way of supporting the coin. Am I wrong ?

new miner really does not improve the hashing. I am not programmer so, as a point of view of a miner, previous versions are not slower or faster.

DCR is almost stable , I think. hope dcr will reach at 700k this time

Best pool on the planet for ETH mining? dwarfpool vs nanopool vs ethpool vs suprnova vs ethmine.org (new) i am currently on ethmine, its a new pool from the folks from ethpool..... but seems PPLNS payout is lower than any other pool Earning for small miner those who mine with 1 or 2 cards, will not that much different. But It seems dwarf is a bit better if you consider the payment

Somebody over at yobit said DCR is going to poloniex within a week. Any truth to that? That's new to me... but would be the best thing that could happen to DCR If DCR enter into polo, I will be happy like heaven

what is the fastest ethminer so far ? I am confused with it. I think I will make a blog or forum thread and will accumulate best miner to help others too. Sometimes bct is very hard for newbies
There is no difference in terms of performance for all the miners, as they share the same mining core. whatever, just tell me the miner downloadable link for windows

Guys, what is the best price GPU for mining alts (like eth)?
And which is better for this, 7970 or r9 290? (maybe its a dumb question).
I would choose 290 over 280x. Yep, needs more power but also gives 50% more hash. Where I live price difference is 50€. may be they will take more time to get back initial investment. I think 7970/7950 are best choice

I have found this forum so good so far for some coins. but now a days, i have seen, some devs are suffering here with their projects and are leaving the forum. It is not a good sign. Some people are getting gratification by destroying other project. Pathetic

Dear buy and sell at your own risk and before you proceed read the market and do analysis. Do not hurry to take decision. Never listen to the troll box in exchanges

Dear Dev, The coin is dying. Everyone is dumping even at worst price. I know you have nothing to do with this dump but at least show us some good cause to hold the coin. only emotion and hope may not enough for valor.

If you compare the card price with mining performance, 7950, 7970, R9 280, R9 280x are good choice. It is my opinion

Is it possible to create DAG in another drive other than drive c?
Yes — Genoil's last couple versions of ethminer have a -R flag that you can specify a different full directory path for each miner instance. If I want the DAG in drive e what should be the -R settings ?
