thankyou all

very good info, this is just the fastest to quote, i have read with great interest the other posts below this one but this specifically  lists the 380X from one who has two. good good from VR standpoint. one (possibaly two) will be mine soon.

because ya know if one is good, two must be better lulz

Generally it is better to have a single more powerful card than to have two weaker cards in crossfire/sli when it comes to game performance (although DX12 and Vulkan may change that). That said, two 380Xs in crossfire are comparable in performance to a single 980ti or fury x, and are also cheaper.

For gaming, crossfire is good. But the mining does not need crossfire. Two cards will occupy two slots.

I'm putting together a campaign for Digital Ocean to support 1 click $ETH nodes. Check out this:
https://twitter.com/jessecouch/status/713989656346398720
Retweet and Comment. Let Digital Ocean know we want them to support blockchains and that $ETH is the best.

thanks for el fasto answer

i can have the 290 on its way and here by next weekend

any other want to chine in?

heres another followup question

r9 390 is better yes?

Yes. My Gigabyte 390 gets 25.5 MH/s without overclocking. Around 29 overclocked. It seems like a slight improvement over the 290 and runs a helluva lot cooler.

I run 5 x MSI R9 390 and easy 26-28MH/s each without overclocking. Its very quiet and runs low 70s at full speed with qtminer.

If I provided you good and useful info or just a smile to your day, consider sending me merit points to further validate this Bitcointalk account ~ useful for future account recovery...

The income from faucet is too low. So it is not worth your time.

If you undervoltage the cards, the temperature will be even lower. I use -100mV to save electricity.

Earning for small miner those who mine with 1 or 2 cards, will not that much different. But It seems dwarf is a bit better if you consider the payment

For the PPLNS, the initial payment is low. But after a few hours, the payment should the same as other pool.

Thanks, this post made me upgrade to the 1.0.6 miner and am now getting 28 on my card. My 270s are getting 16 up from 14. I may try the local work command too see if that bumps it a bit.

Where do you get the 1.0.6 miner?

Edit: Read about it here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1368785.msg14335082#msg14335082
I am currently using ethminer-0.9.41-genoil-1.0.4b3 and will update to the latest now.

I use Genoil's 1.0.3 (the newer one adds cuda support, so no need if you run AMD) and on my XFX R9-390's I get just around 28.5MH stock. Slight overclock and undervolt bumps them to 30+MH.

Go Big or Go Home.
