I think a factor in the high price is that people who thought it would be safer to wait until an ETF was available to get in because of institutional protection, their lack of tech knowledge, whatever, have realised they don't get that luxury and have starting buying directly. This is a bit of a silk road v2 situation IMO, everyone thought the value was due to X and then X vanishes and it retains the value = collect jaw drop and then FOMO.
Yup. Hardware wallets are selling out fast. Why use an ETF when you can hodl your bitcoins at home on a Trezor? (If you can find one to buy). No kidding. After long time considering buying one I finally did past week and I couldn't be happier now. Way better and more secure than my previous mess of having some in exchanges, some in software wallets and some in paperwallets. Now I can only recommend to anyone that doesn't have one to buy one asap. It's a whole new dimension. There's really no reason not to have one except maybe for someone with less than 1btc. I did buy a Ledger Nano S though, which is mostly the same than Trezor. I use Nano S and Trezor. I like Trezor better because I can use it with one hand but that is a minor quibble. It is a good idea to keep a portable copy of latest Electrum on your desktop if you are using the Chrome apps for Nano S; once in a while the Ledger servers have a problem usually on a weekend. If you trade Ether you can use MyEtherWallet as a backup to the Ledger Ether Chrome app.

Most likely delay. Lawyers got to make a living.

damn, need another dip to buy more
There was advice to place limit buy orders @ $1000 all over the place in case the ETF was rejected. Bitcoin will always have swings so your best bet now is to get fiat on your exchange of choice and place a buy order $200 to $250 under the current price to catch the next down day.

The "Dash is a scam" argument doesn't work. Open your eyes. Look at the price. Fiat money is a scam too. No one cares.
Got it in one. As a "clueless noobie", to quote a relentless troller on the Dash thread, I see that those in the Monero camp have a massive blindspot, about how, despite being less than a pristine and pure coin, Dash is succeeding. On Planet Monero, marketing seems to be a bad word, and user friendliness? Pshaw, too smart to need that! Come on! If that is what it takes to elevate a "flawed" coin like Dash to greatness, then how amazing could a "superior" crypto like Monero be, if that strategy were adopted? Please be dispassionate, and look at it without bias. If Monero is technically better than Dash, and yet Dash outperforms Monero, then what could the difference be? From this clueless noobie's viewpoint, the keys to domination in the Anonymous Coin Game appear to be marketing and user friendliness. And having trollers in the penalty box could be considered a negative factor as well. Despite having better players, Monero is massively behind on points, as Dash is working better as a team, and its strategy is superior. Is it too late for Monero to learn this? The Anonymous Coin Game will only have one winner. Can M come from behind? Will D hang on for the win? Stay tuned! Dash will continue with pump and dumps while the superior anonymity of Monero will trump in time. The GUI is fine now the only pieces missing are a hardware wallet and Android light wallet app. Monero is a community effort, get involved contribute time or donate bitcoin.

As expected, the price dumped when the ETF got rejected because people expected it to dump, so panic selling ensued. Nothing out of the ordinary. But I didn't expect the price to stay at $1100+ so easy and so quick.
This shows us how powerful bitcoin is in 2017 compared to 2013. Bitcoin is indeed maturing, this now feels like a solid, serious thing.
I feel that bitcoin held its own quite well, i really expected a dump all the way to $700 - 800 levels considering the volatility surrounding it, that it didn't, speaks to the maturity level of Bitcoin imo. Of course we have to wait for the weekend and see how it goes, but considering the general trend with Bitcoin and crypto-currencies in general, big news like this used to cause shock-waves and the results were immediate for all to see. I really hope we have moved past that stage and will see a stronger Bitcoin going forward. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) The Elliott Wave crowd are predicting an ABC correction down to $800 -$900. If price holds above $1000 they will have to go back to the charts and come up with an alternate wave count.

how is working multibit? i didn't use it in a long time
I am not having a good experience with Multibit HD 0.4.1. Every time I try to run it my antivirus quarantines it even if I add an exception for the .exe. I quit trying and just use Electrum or Core instead. No problems with either one of them. No plans to change my security set up just to please one contrary bitcoin wallet when there are other good choices. Its the same with me about the antivirus. so i am just using the 0.3 release which still works perfectly fine by me. i really dont want to download gbs of blockchain data. any other wallet which can be used? New Electrum 2.8.0 is very good. Dynamic fees, RBF and CPFP.

Price is down 15% from the high of $1350; considering the volatility after the denial not a bad day. Folks who had buy orders in at $1000 are in profit.

Will take no. 49 if still available PM sent
#38 has become available and I have you reserved. I have updated status in the OP. The coins shipped out of the Maryland, USA. Shipments within the US were 2-3 day priority. Paid and sent you txid in PM. Glad I was able to get one at this late date. I was concentrating on trading rather than collecting this week. Next time will not wait until the last minute:)

So I downloaded Electrum Wallet 2.7.18 Standalone Executible, the Windows Installer and the Portable Version and neither of them worked on my Windows 10 PC. I also tried to download previous versions but did not have sucsess. I tried to run it using Windows 7 and 8 compatibility mode, nothing. Just to make sure, I turn off Avast annnd no luck. It wont open, no matter what I do. I did not find any processes on the task manager. It seems to be a little odd. Searching in forums I coudn't find anyone with the same problem, so I appreciate if somebody who has been through that could help me out!
Have you tried the latest version 2.8.0? Uninstall all the old versions and just try the portable version from a folder on your desktop.

Can someone post a chart with support in light of todays developments?
Market got overheated with speculation on the ETF here are the Fibonacci support levels: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fbitcoinnewsmagazine.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2015%2F09%2Fscreenshot-bitcoinwisdom.com-2017-03-10-19-07-03.png&t=663&c=PRjnuWUZ8ZiRlA) May just consolidate between 1068 and 1150 for a while. Holding long term you will make money. If you can't handle the volatility go ahead and sell.

kraken and coinbase both seem fine from bitcoinwisdom.. Pretty much inline with stamp and finex..
Can't log into coinbase to buy with the fiat I parked there earlier today in order to take advantage of just this outcome...... feckers Coinbase and GDAX website almost always crash during big events that overload them. The only way you could have scooped up coins was to place a buy limit order on GDAX at your price and hope it got filled.

Trezor uses https://bitcoinfees.21.co/ API and with fee set to HIGH have never had a problem. New Electrum 2.8.0 is good also, just set fee slider to high and for insurance mark the transaction replaceable.
