No mention of Bitcoin ABC at all.

Have you used your Nano S with just the Chrome bitcoin app? Where did you get the QR code from, were you in Ledger's Bitcoin App?

Because Bitcoin ABC built two way replay protection into the client the easiest way to claim your BCC is to have your bitcoin in Bitcoin Core before the hard fork. After the hard fork copy your pre-fork wallet.dat over to the Bitcoin ABC 0.14.5 client, or import your private keys. If you are using a hardware wallet the manufacturer should do the BTC/BCC split for you, or provide a tool to do so.

So Bitcoin is traceable. BTC-E, Alphabay, Hansa is busted due to some illegal operations. Those who staying for annonimity and freedom of choice can support bigger blocks from now. 8 mb blocks as in Bitcoin Cash will probably be untraceable at all. https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/AnonymityWhy would you think Bitcoin Cash transactions would not be traceable? The blockchain is just a hard fork from Bitcoin and as transparent. If you are looking for untraceable transactions you need to look elsewhere.

sorry guys I am still not getting this. So you are saying BCC will just appear in my electrum wallet 8/1/17 at 12:20pm as long as my BTC is there, or do I have to have my BTC in another type of electrum wallet... such as the one found on this website recommended by bitcoin cash http://www.electrumcash.org/However this website says it is coming soon. No it will not. Read the instructions at Bitcoin Cash: You can continue to use legacy Bitcoin as usual. As long as you hold your private keys, any unspent bitcoins from before August 1 will be be safely waiting for you. Make and keep a backup of your wallet before July 31. When you are ready, copy your pre-fork wallet.dat (or import your private keys) into one of the Bitcoin Cash implementations, and your pre-split balance will be available to you as Bitcoin Cash.

Both Ledger and Trezor devs have said you will have access to both your btc and bcc in Nano S or Trezor wallet. A firmware update may be required but the company will do the splitting for you which is the most convenient choice I have seen. Nano S is out of stock until September but you can still get a Trezor. Do realize that bcc will not even exist until August 1. The Bitcoin ABC client is being run by a few hundred people including miners but will mine bitcoin until the hard fork when bcc begins.

If price drops below $2000 you should buy. I think a drop that low will be brief and the only way to take advantage of it is to already have cash at an exchange with a buy order in place. You should assume if we have a flash crash Coinbase may go down from server overload so don't count on being able to watch price and make a market buy, you may not be able to even log into Coinbase.

Anyone knows if the online wallets will support BCC, I'm talking about wallets like Xapo!?
Too early to tell. ViaBTC only has about 10 PH mining on Bitcoin ABC. The best way to get bcc is to have your bitcoin in a Trezor or Ledger Nano S hardware wallet before the fork.

Since ViaBTC has been selling BCC futures and S9_BCC cloud mining I would bet the exchanges stay with BCC (Bitcoin Cash). BCC already has widespread use.

Question for both trezor and nano-s owners: which one is the best and why?
They are equal. It comes down to which interface you like better and which altcoins are supported. Also, Nano S is a little less expensive than Trezor and has a two year warranty instead of the one year Trezor offers.

According to the same documents another part of the stolen from the attack on Mt. Gox arrived at a San Francisco exchange office.
Poloniex Wait for the shit storm.. Poloniex is: VCORP Services LLC 1013 CENTRE ROAD SUITE 403-B Wilmington DE 19805 Why do you say it's in San Francisco? Sock FUD? VCORP Services LLC is just the registered agent, many companies incorporate in Delaware for tax advantages. Does not mean Poloniex offices are in Delaware.

There was some news earlier this year that mixers are now useless as the chainanalysis companies can see past them. So don't waste your time and bitcoin with them. If you need to anonymize bitcoin you should use an altcoin with an opaque blockchain.

Sure you won't miss it? These are right up there with the most beautiful coins ever minted.

If you saved your GA secret key (the one you were reminded to keep safe) when you set up GA you just need to move to a new phone and reinstall GA. Other wise just create a new Electrum wallet from your seed.

Now that replay protection is being added to Bitcoin ABC both Ledger Nano S and Trezor will be able to support BCC. You might need a firmware update is all. So the simplest solution would seem to be move all your bitcoin to a Trezor or Nano S before the hard fork. If you don't already have a hardware wallet doubtful you can get one delivered before Aug 1 though.

LastPass Password Manager is made to do this. Do not forget to make backups and use a strong password.
The problem is you cannot make a truly random strong password that you can remember reliably, so you wind up writing the password down. Can you remember a random string of numbers, letters and symbols longer than 20 characters? I sure can't. If you allow a password manager to remember your password you have an attack vector. Hardware wallet manufacturers recommend you write your seed on paper and store in a safe place for legitimate reasons.

You really should have ordered a Trezor when there was still time for it to arrive before August 1. Too late now.
|
|
|
For the 2 MB hard fork in three months to occur a majority of miners will have to switch from Core to btc1. That is what I think Bitcoin ABC is really there for, to ensure that miners follow all of the NYA agreement to the letter.

If you are using Windows Malwarebytes is well worth the $40 for real time protection. The best way to use Electrum is with Trezor though.
