1701  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: CoinURL sold to the new owner on: January 23, 2013, 09:54:30 PM
Wow there is a lot of text there. I just like to report the site is up but my ad slot is timing out (http://coinurl.com/get.php?id=2572 ). If this is known (intentionally disabled or something) ignore this message.

We're trying to make it happen.  The server is just going bananas and it looks like it should be working but it's not.

Server load is like bandwidth is @ 2%, CPU at 2%, memory free and everything is beyond crawling.

Memcache will increase the power tremendously if we can get it working.  It's "working" but not doing anything with the site.
normal, u have to develop the site for memcached, u cant just install memcached and everything is done.
1702  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: CoinURL sold to the new owner on: January 23, 2013, 07:28:07 PM
errrmmm, are you aware that memcache and memcached are 2 different implementations of the same thing? Maybe your problem lies in that little detail?

Probably..

# ps aux | grep memcache
memcache   675  0.0  1.1 354784 23572 ?        Sl   22:27   0:00 /usr/bin/memcached -m 256 -p 11211 -u memcache -l 127.0.0.1

so my process is called memcache and the file it's running is called mecached...  I has the right one?
wrong, first row is the username of the process (since u specified u as parameter) and u use memcached
1703  Economy / Services / Re: [Code] Will Code in Java on: January 23, 2013, 08:54:44 AM
That's cool, but I try to avoid the sun* classes usually. Maybe I should give you my trading sources, so you could speed them up a bit... Smiley
atm im quite busy, but if u want i can give it a look/try later.

ok, but I'm afraid you are more low level engineer/hacker so Java don't really fit your needs. Smiley how about C??
yes, C is one of my favorite ones. i dev with Java too, but only little tools and such (if i need it fast and speed dosnt matter). i didnt intend to bash java with these questions Wink

rev1 or rev2?
1705  Economy / Services / Re: [Code] Will Code in Java on: January 22, 2013, 05:08:06 PM
K1773R: your second question is kinda tough for me. You want a method, that writes a value directly in some given address? I only know some Java hardware, where you can access the ram as a (pseudo-) byte array.

Is there a generic solution?

Or do you just mean some serialization to bytes?

I guess , I don't really understand your question...hmmh...
u can work directly with memory with the intern class named "Unsafe".
http://highlyscalable.wordpress.com/2012/02/02/direct-memory-access-in-java
http://robaustin.wikidot.com/how-to-write-to-direct-memory-locations-in-java

this is usefull in situations when primitives (char/int/... arrays) arent fast enough and u need it even faster.
for comparsion (didnt test primitive array vs direct memory way, altough i dont think its much faster.):
Integer[] -> 56 nano seconds
ArrayList -> 27755 nano seconds
1706  Economy / Services / Re: [Code] Will Code in Java on: January 22, 2013, 02:54:42 PM
Wait, Java still exists?!

You're kidding, right?

This is dumb on so many levels ..... If you have no Software Engineering knowledge you can also choose not to post. You should try that sometimes.
java is stupid on so many levels. The language just sucks. Use Python, haskell, or even C. Java is for stupid people, who wants to design themselves out of the problems, and write verbose unmaintainable code.

The standard lib sucks even more. Is does funny and stupid thing everywhere.
and jvm's always crash, or does not GC properly. and are other wise fucked up.

plain simply: java sucks much.

You are WRONG! Cheesy
i can develop in java, it has some nice features but thats it, its a huge mess. so yes hes right.
if you say hes wrong, atleast try to argument why, otherwise ur post/opinion is worthless.
1707  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Scammed by TORWallet! on: January 22, 2013, 02:52:48 PM
. . . If I'm not mistaken, the people behind TORwallet won't be able to access the individual wallets . . .
Why would you think that?  I'm pretty sure they can.

Because of that unique address you need to access the wallet. Of course, it was setup to be a scam from the beginning they could harvest that someway on registration, but the coins I deposited are still sitting in my unique wallet so I'm not sure what is what Smiley
they developed the system, u get an address and such a key passed to ur URL to match it to your "wallet", the BTC itself goes into theirs pocket.
since they developed the system, its theirs money no longer urs. if you really believe they cant access it then this is stupidty/retardness. for example, il ship my money to u and label it with such a "key", now ur telling me u cant access the BTC due to this key?

Hey all,

I am pretty good at Java, but would like to get better.
I will code some programs in Java for anyone here. Price depends on how complicated the program is, but as I am doing this mostly just to get better it probably will be fairly cheap.
Payment will only be made AFTER I complete the program to your satisfaction, and an escrow can be arranged if you prefer.
Feel free to PM me or post here and please include how much you would be willing to pay.
You can also email me at epicblood@gmail.com

3 questions:
can you force the GC to do its job?
can you work directly with memory?
do you use Arrays or Lists?
1709  Economy / Services / Re: Write a wikipedia article or/and make a youtube video for Tor site promotion on: January 22, 2013, 10:43:54 AM
so what kind of scammy thing is this "website"?
1710  Other / Off-topic / Re: Badass espionage virus in the wild from 5 years+ just found by Kaspersky on: January 22, 2013, 08:22:21 AM
I have yet to try it but I'm told eve online work with wine.

Its only, I don't know, HUGE.  Plus of course everyone has been talking about steambox and upcoming support for (possibly) all their games.

b!z once again you prove you are just a fucking shed.
b!z is related to Third Way, check theirs post, usual Third Way posts some shit and afterwards b!z posts, pretty obvious.
Usually only Games with "security systems" based on trojans wont work (since they do kernel hacking, kernel stuff isnt implemented in wine).
1711  Other / Off-topic / Re: Matthew N. Wright friend or foe on: January 20, 2013, 02:11:12 PM
Maybe if all victims could agree on a punishment/fine, it could work (like a 1000 BTC donation to a charity, or developing a specific project). Of course it needs to be a consensus, so either everone must agree or debt to those left out need to be settled individually.
I would agree to this. I vote for a 1000 btc donation to torservers.net.
nice idea Tongue

Question:     Why isn't p2pool more popular than it is?

Answer:    1) http://p2pool.info/luck/

If you don't understand "pool luck" and you don't want to learn about it, please stop mentioning it.
dont feed the trolls Wink
1713  Economy / Marketplace / Re: [BETA] Dark Exchange: a 100% decentralized p2p exchange on: January 20, 2013, 11:57:05 AM
This projected really needs to be revived, we can't have stock exchanges going down left and right because of a few stupid scammers.
Well, it wasn't really a stock exchange, but I like the idea of reviving it anyways!

In that case we need a proper stock exchange BLAH! Tongue
how about cryptostocks?
1714  Other / Off-topic / Re: Badass espionage virus in the wild from 5 years+ just found by Kaspersky on: January 20, 2013, 11:52:54 AM
too funny Smiley
Third Way is igored due to being plain retarded
b!z there are tons of game for linux, and you can even run Winblows games on Linux -> Wine

Almost all Linux games are terrible 'indie' attempts at games, and Wine is glitchy as fuck and takes too much setup sometimes.
wine (the newer versions) are working quite well, atleast u state ur to lazy to get something working Tongue
yes most of all linux games arent good, thats true. i once found this webpage (its german, sadly, but it got tons of game listed and rated, all other rating sates are really out of date) http://holarse-linuxgaming.de , trough this site i found some awesome linux games Smileyhttp://
1715  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [400GH/s] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: January 20, 2013, 02:36:01 AM
p2pool's main problem is being penalized for including transactions.

P2pool miners are protecting the network against >50% attacks. That is a HUGE benefit for the bitcoin network.
Although the concept sounds good, since p2pool is only around 300-400GH/s - it really isn't protecting anything

... and if p2pool miners do as you suggest below, the larger pools, that include more transactions, are indeed better for BTC ...

Quote
Most p2pool users don't have the powerful servers and gigabit internet connections, so they should not include every possible 0-fee or 0.0005 BTC/kB transaction. It's not a huge problem if we leave that to the centralized pools.
And I thought forrest made it so that the transactions are really quickly between peers anyways, so are miners really still being penalized?
i'd think that it would be moved in a way that wouldnt involve that much more data, but you can see a clear difference in orphans when you set your blocksize to 1000 vs 250000.    though i'd go for something like 5000 so it can cherry pick the occasional huge fees.

anyway, re: memory leak, check this bad boy out:

http://5.9.157.150:9332/static/graphs.html?Month

maybe it has something to do with DOA shares?
is your node public? interested in stats.

I think I'm addicted! Shocked

In other words, I don't know what I would do if this forum disappeared anyone else have this problem or have a backup plan?

I don't know but like we might need a counselling help for Bitcoins?

Thoughts? ...I won't be butt hurt if you decide to laugh at me also ...  Huh
I started bitcoining to ditch my mmo-addiction, I suppose that could work the other way around Smiley
"bitcoining" is much better than "mmo-addiction", especially if ur a dev Wink
