1181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Devcoin Wiki false advertising - "Ethical" project pumping $10 DVC on: June 14, 2013, 11:15:16 AM
Good start!   What about the all time low as well?    Somewhere in mid 30 satoshi level if I recall?
i only know about the $10 mistake, im asking Kumala if i can get the trading history of DVC as csv/similiar to find it out if the ppls @ devcoin thread dont know about it.
1182  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Stratum from pool 0 detected new block keeps repeating on: June 14, 2013, 11:11:23 AM
"Stratum from pool 0 detected new block" keeps showing up on my cgminer but no shares, etc. are appearing.
I'm mining for multipool on port 7777, btw.  Is this supposed to happen?
yes it is suppose to happen, it always happens if a new block on the network is found or the server wants to give you new work.
nothing to worry about.

- Programmatically insert a running count of removed posts in an obvious place of the thread, for instance the thread title or the self-moderation information banner at top of each thread page.

Take it to the next step and have "x posts by y users have been deleted from this thread [click here for a list of moderated users and posts]"

But wait, there's more!  Even the author, an account named FinShaggy, admits the $10 claim is false advertising, and yet still manages to include MORE pumping in the same messages?  My word, how blatant and shameful:

When I first got here they were talking about it. It got to $10 falsely (someone manipulated the market), but it DID get there. And now that there are so many publishers on board, and the bounties are getting completed, the value should be able to get there naturally this time.

It was $10 falsely, but it was $10, and it can get there again through true development.
agree. it was $10 due to someone failing @ exchanges, ie paying way too much for a single DVC
if nobody edits it, il edit it and add that it was an trade mistake and shouldnt be taken serious.
1185  Economy / Services / Re: Bitcoin Peak on: June 14, 2013, 11:01:12 AM
Issue resolved.

The problem was caused by BitcoinCharts API returning only 20,000 records instead of the full range (I don't know if this is documented or not).

I modified the app to save a daily snapshot of the peak price into a database, and take the max of bitcoincharts data and the previous day's peak.

Thanks again for reporting!

Was the exact peak 266.00 or did you just put that in there manually? I seem to recall it being something like 265.95 but I could be wrong.
According to the data in bitcoincharts.com it was exactly 266.

1186  Other / Meta / Re: Is This Forum Degenerating? on: June 14, 2013, 07:31:21 AM
I was talking to a fellow bitcoiner about this forum IRL and he said he thought it was "degenerating"  Grin

I disagree. I find it's getting better.

Who's right?
yes it is but thats not the fault of the forum nor the mods, its the fault of the degeneration of humans
1187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: These physical LTC look awesome! on: June 14, 2013, 07:16:00 AM
Yes, they have 10 ltc behind a hologram just like the casascius coins. When it's announced, I'm sure someone will post the info here.

1188  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Armory Wallet - Coin lost - Desperately need help!! on: June 13, 2013, 06:45:36 PM
Very interesting. So when the blockchain is downloaded, can will my BTC be in both Bitcoin QT and Armory?

Assuming that it is in both can i just uninstall Armory and simply use Bitcoin QT as my wallet instead
OR do I need to transfer from Armory to Bitcoin QT before i uninstall Armory.

is it worth keeping Armory since the computer that Armory is installed on is connected to the web or does having Armory on an online PC void the benefit of Armory dispite the fact that Armory always says its offline anayway?
you can export the PrivateKey of the BTC Address where u did send your coins and afterwards import it to Bitcoin-QT.
il advice you to stay @ armory as its the most feature rich client available which will help you not to get into troubles in the future Wink
1189  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Armory Wallet - Coin lost - Desperately need help!! on: June 13, 2013, 12:51:10 PM
Hi, if you use Armory please read this post and share any advice that you have.

I am new to the whole bitcoin scene. I didn't read the Armory instruction manual and so I accidentally lost my first and only bit coin. Having now read the Armory instructions I still don't know how to recover my coin so here I am asking for your advice.

What Happened?
I purchased a bit coin from bit bargain
I dowloaded & installed armory wallet on one computer which is connected to the web
Within Armory I clicked 'Recieve' and generated an address.
I input this exact address into bitbargain and the coin sent (it now has 15 confirmations).
I checked my armory and the coin never arrived (I'm writing this 12 hours after the coin was sent).

Armory says its off line even though I am connected to the web. I suspect this is because it is not meant to go online as its an offline wallet.
I dont really have a second 64 bit computer to set up Armory properly as per Armory instuctions and Im not sure that if I did it would help.

All I want to do is (a) see my coin (b) move my coin to a new simple wallet (c) spend my coin

I cant be fussed with all this armory business of having two computers and a memory stick. I just want a simple solution for storing bitcoins. But first I need to get my bitcoin back!

Please please help!

Yours gratefully,
Dripfeed
you did NOT loose your 1BTC, you just cant access it since ur offline.
You need to install Bitcoin-QT (official bitcoin client) as it servers as network connection for armory.
after the Bitcoin-QT got synced (synchronised with the network) your transaction will show up @ armory.

Can you please add goxtool (http://prof7bit.github.io/goxtool/) in your next release?
I cloned it from git and it doesn't work.
I get the following error.

those who recieved theirs jala, what was your order #? wondering when i will get mine

hard to extrapolate from this http://bfl.ptz.ro/ (voluntary reported orders and their shipping status)
but so far best source of consolidated bfl shipping data. the mix in numbering styles is intentional. they used 3 concurent preorder systems in the early days afaik.

you can try/test minepeon with raspberry pi and cpu mining
thanks, didnt know about this site!
1195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BBQcoin Windows Client Update on: June 10, 2013, 04:34:32 PM
i just checked the differences (you didnt include git so you wanted to make it harder, still we can see how it goes).

1. definately hijacking of BBQCoin by trying to change the logo to your owns to discredit all others.
2. changing the link from bbqcoin.org to bbqcoin.com
3. added seednodes (as promised), though this could be used to takeover the chain via a hardfork and discredit all others.
4. they didnt include a chat function to the QT GUI, all they did was an option to open a link with ur default browser that goes to http://www.bbqcoin.com/chat

even cubox could have done this, so "professional" as he was (for reference, cubox was just a kid).

id say thats the ultimate proof that this is a try of a hostile takeover at all, if you use this client you help to devalue the value fo BBQCoin and also help for future malicious task being forced of bbqcoin.com
also accusing me of DDoS'ing you to discredit me is a really silly thing to do.

the source is clean, be aware there is no way to proof the source they released has been used for the binary they supply.

for those interesting what changed, look at these files

We now have bbqcoin.org, bbqcoin.com and bbqcoinfoundation.org. I'm sure if we all pool our skills and resources together we'd be able to achieve a lot more for BQC. I mean, we're all on the same team, right? All of us want to advance BBQcoin. I propose that we organize a meeting on the BBQcoin IRC chatroom #bbqcoin.org to try and mediate this issue there and maybe reach a resolution. I wouldn't surprised if we see BQC increase 10-fold once we resolve these differences Smiley
i would love to, unfortunately bbqcoin.com just proved they are extreme hostile and also shady. maybe the "foundation" isnt the same, though bbqcoin.com's owner is one of the main persons of the foundation (coincidence?). i dont think we are at a PONR (point of no return) yet, but soon we will. atm the bbqcoin.com (and indirectly the foundation therefore) are harming bbqcoin (as you can see because of the ppl being scared if bbq will fail because of all this and therefore dump their cons ASAP).
1198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BBQcoin Windows Client Update on: June 10, 2013, 02:38:17 PM
First up, BBQcoin.org has nothing to do with DDos attacks, we are a Dev team and don't have the time or inclination for such things.
You have K1773R in your team, if you don't know how to choose good people to work with you, you are responsible... But our server has now a DDOS protection.
cool, didnt know its me, thanks for telling! usually i dont interact with scum like u but i will now since you make me laugh hard and also you destroy your reputation urself.
for the future i wont answer to your post, but please continue posting such things so this thread is atleast a bit interesting Tongue
