721  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Mining pool reward issues on: January 15, 2014, 11:51:51 AM
Hello,

i have been testing out the following pools:

http://mine-pool.net/qrk/index.php?page=statistics&action=pool
and
http://www2.coinmine.pl/qrk/index.php?page=statistics&action=pool

I was thinking about switching to a smaller pool because of the 51% discussions on QRK all around. However, I figured out that the "big" pool (coinmine.pl) has MUCH higher reward. And you guys can even see that without signing on that pools by visiting the URLs above.

For example, the top hashrate contributor on the small pool does about 22MHs and its shown that that gives him the ridiculous ammount of ~1 QRK/day. Similar hashrate on the coinmine pool gives ~130 QRK/day. Why is there such a huge difference? It is more than a HUNDRET times higher! I even tested it and the values seem correct to me, so i stopped using the small pool for now.

any clues?

Just to know, I am wondering why I can't attach stratum-proxy to my p2pool node. I saw about 100 pages back a conversation about some error with stratum-proxy, did anyone ever resolve that?
you dont need stratum proxy for p2pool

724  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DVC]DevCoin - Official Thread - Moderated on: January 11, 2014, 04:29:16 PM
I'm now offering 1000 / 1500 DVC to each person who votes to add DVC / BTC to Cryptsy: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=408884

EDIT: if anyone wants to donate DVC to help keep this alive (or so I can increase the reward - I want 1000 people voting for it on Cryptsy) 1M8A5WqBuQYU8yBfWeEp9jZTMzCfHxv5Bg

FWIW, Cryptsy used to do DVC/BTC. Now they do XPM/BTC and LTC/BTC. I'm not sure why they removed the BTC link though.

I just tried Crypsy for the first time today and haven't been very impressed so far....

My intital deposit of just a few thousand Devcoins took a few hours to show up in my acccount.

When I was attempting to enter some trades, some of them would show up immediately and others would not.

However, I guess that I am going to stick around because of the closeness of the DVC/LTC trading pairs compared to other sites.

Bittzy78

Yes Cryptsy has issues - but the trade volume there is huge and having DVC / BTC trading there will only strengthen Devcoin.

They are working hard to fix these issues too - and you will always get your coins eventually.

Yeah, I was having several WTF is going on here moments before the Devcoins finally showed up.

just simply DONT USE craptsy...

It has been brought to our attention that the pool anc.usr.io is under new management, and they are _not_ paying out requested withdrawals for an extended period. Find yourself another pool or you risk losing coins.
thats why ppl should use p2pool. technology cant be flawed by some administrator/stupid-human-being Smiley

729  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Super secure hashing | CPU mining on: January 06, 2014, 07:22:22 PM
How many connections should I see if my port is forwarded correctly? Even with my port forwarded BTC QT wallet, I only sometimes see 9 connections. (Usually 8 and that is bad)

My Quarkcoin wallet is showing 15 active connections. I have no problem receiving payments, but I ordered one transfer 20 hours ago and I am still waiting (0 of 6 confirmations).

Do I have to open / redirect any port in particular in my NAT / router?

 José Antonio

The confirmation failed, there was an orphan and your transaction will not included in the newer blocks. There was no withdrawal on the other end too. So ask them to reconsider.

Ask who?

This is a transfer from my personal wallet on my PC to my QRK account on coins-e

The amount is not in my personal wallet anymore and I did not receive the QRK on coins-e, neither. What can I do? Did I lost my mined quarks?

Reindex, you should get your quarks back.
not reindex, -rescan
730  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ZET] Zetacoin - SHA256 coin - Quick confirmations on: January 04, 2014, 06:50:59 PM
Does a Zetacoin address on Coinhex show a balance (or transfers from another) as a result of mining? When I search for the address this blockchain explorer (http://bit.usr.sh:2750/chain/Zetacoin) shows: No results found.

just noticed the date on this explorer, all show August dates...anything other explorers more current/active?

no, you cant create coinbase with 0 payout with just making settings @ bitcoin.conf, you can limit txs. to create blocks worth 0 dtc, you need to change the src.
"Empty" meaning no transactions in the block. Obviously you can't take away the actual block reward without the block getting rejected by the network.
thats wrong, you can create a block with a coinbase worth 0 btc (but that would be stupid as shit...). aslong its not above the default value and not below 0 it will be accepted.
732  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ZET] Zetacoin - SHA256 coin - Quick confirmations on: January 03, 2014, 02:28:42 AM
the block explorer on website is not working right now.
use the one in my signature. donations appreciated!

A (somewhat) antisocial solution would be a fake bitcoind node that generates empty blocks.
You don't need a "fake" bitcoind to make empty blocks. It's a simple setting in bitcoin.conf. Though if you don't have the bandwidth to propagate proper blocks, you'd be better off mining with a pool that can.

I have a node running on a 20GB hard drive virtual machine.  I may have to update soon, once they blockchain exceeds that amount.

only retarded miners would do this as they wouldnt get the nice fee for each tx Smiley
735  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 01, 2014, 09:50:41 PM
OK I have a question! (it might be a dumb one)
I've noticed this evening that my GPU's are running a few degrees hotter than usual. The conditions in the room haven't changed much and it doesn't feel uncomfortably hot in the room. So could the card temperatures be affected by the server? for example different coins, reject rates, difficulty, etc?
you dont seem to be able to understand anything of GPU/hashing/mining basics... therefore dont ask such questions
736  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Super secure hashing | CPU mining on: January 01, 2014, 12:32:13 AM
why is qrk.coinmine.pl down
because its .pl, use p2pool!
737  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] CryptoSwitcher - Automatically mine the best coin. on: December 31, 2013, 08:37:28 PM
using all them, with coinwarz as profit calculator, cryptoswitcher as switching script and cryptsy as exchenger, I reached around 130 as profitabiliy in the last 2 days (respect to exclusive btc mining).
this stupidity makes me so sad! you are aware that compiling from git is easier than always downloading winblows binaries? if you have linux, fking use it and dont go back to the stone-age obsolete shit...

Hey, we've made a (hopefully) informative page on P2Pools at whatisp2pool.com. Any feedback is appreciated.
- do not mention doge shit?! its bloated with it...
- recommend to run a own node and not use a public one (especially NOT p2pool.org)

seems to be a good informational page for beginners Smiley
