1741  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Minimum Age to gamble on: July 02, 2023, 07:45:31 AM
I came across an article How Old Do You Have to Be to Gamble in USA?. In this article, i saw that the minimum age to gamble is between 18 to 21 years. I wonder if the online casino do follow this minimum age for gambling.

Age to gamble is 18 and above but the issue is that when it comes to online and registration I don't see why the individual registering won't lie just to gain access to any site. Is something that even the online betting site can't handle.

Quote
Yes, the gambling sites have our age data through the KYC documents. Do they ever restrict anyone who is underage to not to gamble?

That happens in some countries where every database are functioning but in some countries it doesn't and that's where underage gambling begins, and it hurts to see a child of 15 engaging in gambling.

We have some rumors this week about interest from Premier League in Mbappè.

PSG will do whatever they can to selling him there, they do not wants the player going to Real Madrid

When it comes to England teams, they're good at spreading rumors in the transfer market and before you know it boom the player has landed in England for medical, so if Mbappe is being linked to any English club I just wish it should be Arsenal, because Arteta has his way of controlling young players and they do fall in line without misbehaving. Arsenal is a team that have so much to offer in this coming season and everybody on that squad knows how important this season is going to be if they don't sit up especially when it comes to the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE .

I would love to see Kylian Mbappe play for a London club, he’s a big Ronaldo fan and he may want to experience what Ronaldo achieved in the premier league. I believe he will bring more competition to the premier league. I am really looking forward to seeing it happen probably in the next two seasons but for now I really have doubts because there are other teams like Real Madrid who are waiting patiently for the green light to sign Mbappe.

No doubt, he's a big fan of Ronaldo but I won't want a situation where he'd bring those attitude of Ronaldo to the Emirates, we all know how Ronaldo likes making a show out of himself, always making things about him and being selfish at times, that's not the kind of energy the young lads at Arsenal needs at the moment.
Mbappe can only come to the Emirates that's if he wants to, only if Arsenal splash enough cash to get him like competing with the likes of Madrid because at the moment Madrid are some how quiet about the situation of Mbappe only watching to know his next move.

I know quite alright that some post if continue talking about it, it causes spamming and is not healthy for the forum but won't it be better if the ones (post) you guys feel is not worthy to stay active to be removed without it affecting the post of the users or maybe deleting it or something, or probably pin it somewhere different and you call THRASH or JUNKYARD for safe keeping while the good post can be free to bump, and it will reduce those number of pages of posts growing down there. Can't it be done that way?
1744  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Board explanation for newbies on: July 02, 2023, 05:04:14 AM
Some people still finds it hard to identify where to drop a post not because they feel like dropping it any how but how to point out the right place is the problem no matter the pinned threads, it only takes someone who has spent time on this forum that can just say "this is where this topic is suppose to be and not there".
Before I started starting up topics I just pray I get the right place to put it because is really hard to get someone to guide you on where to drop a post, like to get answered immediately. I don't but is it not right to get someone that newbies could ask before posting, that's those who doesn't know where to position their post.

Bitcointalk has so many Topics that even some newbies don't know about even myself and those topics are very important. I've being wondering why some of these interesting topics are not always active like we forget about them that easy and it makes users who are not aware of it to even open a similar one and before you know it you start seeing links from nowhere that are related.

The thing is why can't we continue to keep those topics alive instead we over look them even when we have something to talk about, we prefer going for new topics.

How can we keep those topics alive instead of dumping them and allowing dust to cloud them?

1748  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you stop gambling (sports betting, casino e.t.c)? on: July 01, 2023, 08:26:05 AM
Except for those who play in a betting shop, those basic steps could help those who just play online. There is also a technique to configure your phone not to allow gambling-related apps for those who may be tempted to reinstall those apps

Well, it might work but it all depends on the individual it doesn't matter if it's online or at the shop.

Depends. There are some that even when they go broke they get to borrow. If the bank won't lend them from some dangerous private lender they will collect the money back with aggressive methods. And some even go as far as stealing from their relatives to keep gambling.

Yes mate, stealing from relatives or friends and if that doesn't work, they go as far to sell things belonging to those who are close to them (relatives or friends) and when it doesn't favor them they start selling things they bought at higher amount to get something small at smaller rate just to get something to stake, with that hope of recovering. Sometimes the loan they take might even increase their problem if they can't pay back.

Now imagine a gambler, withdrew everything he had from his credit card (after receiving his monthly pay together with what he has being saving to pay off his debts), went into the betting arena and lost it all within 5-7 hours. The annoying part was that the gambler forgot he was owing one crazy debt that might make him go bankrupt, if he can't pay up with the little time he had that means his properties will be taken and probably make him homeless.

So now I'm asking, is gambling addiction a virus because when it starts it doesn't stop is it a virus or not?
1749  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you stop gambling (sports betting, casino e.t.c)? on: June 30, 2023, 10:56:03 PM
The question is if you're a gambler or have someone who is, what's the best way to help out. And what's your story on escaping that addiction (gambling)...

How do you fight this battle?

Delete your gambling apps

Clear your browser history, unfollow all the gambling pages.

Or you go broke; not having money to stake will make you to never go back.

Like seriously? Are you serious about these things you just mentioned? Having those apps deleted doesn't grantee one that the itchy spirit of gambling would go off. Is like you saying a drunk should wash off his drinking bottle, try not to remember the road to the beer parlor. It won't work that easy in terms of gambling, but "Or you go broke; not having money to stake will make you to never go back". that would do and even change the mindset of some gamblers, I think.
1750  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you stop gambling (sports betting, casino e.t.c)? on: June 30, 2023, 07:15:12 AM
Stopping gambling is really a battle you fight against yourself, and can you think it would be very easy to stop? Since you're in control of yourself then you need more than a 3rd party to win this fight. Need someone to monitor your movement if possible every activities you engage yourself in day in day out. It can be embarrassing but it had to be done with so much determination if not that goal {stopping gambling} can't be achieved.
Well, stopping gambling addiction only takes the help of God to make someone to stick to his or her word to stop it. But look at it on the brighter side gambling addiction can lead to something positive, don't you think?

1752  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: June 29, 2023, 06:03:33 PM
Finally Mount have left the bridge and UTD on the other hand have gotten a new player but the question is, does the man Mount has a lot to bring to the UTD side? Can he play like he did when Chelsea won the Champions league about 2 seasons back? Because at this point in time he's a flop, well time will tell.

Manchester United need to do more in this transfer window because they have been in contact with so many players but could only get one and now they're having issues with the contract of David de Gea, I can't really get why they didn't accept his proposal instead it was reversed or something, and I feel they're not going to get Onana before the window closes. Is Manchester United always going to be this disrespectful to players who gave their all? Why didn't they sign the proposal that De Gea has  already signed? Seems they don't really want him anymore at Old Trafford.

1756  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much do you think Bitcoin will rise to in the next round of bull market? on: June 29, 2023, 09:15:38 AM
The prediction of Bitcoin is something we can't really be certain of because when you expect it to rise it will fall and whenever you feel it will fall it goes up, so we need to stay on the positive side especially investors, that's to see it go up. Now we have it at $30k and it only went to $31k ones if I'm not mistaken, and since then we have been seeing it at $30k for sometime now so I'd say it might get up to $60k, if possibly before the next 2-3 months, before 2024/25 if might get to something extraordinary can't really say.

Nah, this be like jerking off merit source to get merit. But, I like the one hosted by OgNasty linked in first comment (was lazy to translate other one), do fun things and giveaway merits, that sounds good.  Grin

I hardly see merit giveaway in this forum.
@OgNasty is doing one, but I haven't come across any of that but I know of @Deadsea, he's really helping out newbies and other users who care to join, but to rap it up, all merit source are really trying their best to make things move smoothly in this Forum and is not easy as we think when they start doing their thing. I Still give maximum respect to them all.

During my stay here, there have been plenty, you just gotta keep eye out for them.

Seriously, I need to... In as much as our ranks are doesn't mean we know so much about a place, and this forum is so big for one person to roam around. I still see my self as a newbie which means I'm ready to learn from anybody no matter how low or high your rank is.
I'll do as you say mate.
1758  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why has Bitcoin suddenly jumped above $30,000? - 06/21/23 on: June 29, 2023, 02:59:10 AM
To me the sudden rise of Bitcoin is something I wasn't expecting to happen this month, was expecting it to bump by early July but these rise of Bitcoin price is something we really can't say is now or then it will go up or down. I still hope it goes higher than $30k and I believe this is what investors are really looking up to. Since this is the first time Bitcoin is climbing up to $30k this month, several factors can be the major cause it like the supply and demand the competition, even regulatory environment. Some other factors are market sentiment and  institutional interest, by understanding these factors it can as well help investors make informative decisions when investing or trading in BTC.

Report such posts if you see they are crossing the line. If it is on small scale, learn to ignore it.

What are you reporting and to whom? Words that you can't take or what?
Is best you ignore (like you said) any word that you can't take in, if you continue to report how long will it last? Not like you're in any kind of kindergarten school or something that you'd always report without standing out for yourself. And you'd be seen as a weakling that can't take cheap words, some users will be coming after you just to make a fool out of you so I'd advise you ignore and no word that's being said harshly that's small, remember that.
