801  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and misinformation on: November 13, 2023, 11:03:02 PM
There is no need to force that to someone that we know. We're just going to be looking like bunch of scammers if we're forcing them to invest.

Been there done that.

You let them go for themselves and don't encourage people that you know unless you are their first family. Or even with your first family, let them take care of themselves with their own assets and investments.

Forcing such on anyone will not only make you a suspected scammer, but wouldn't believe all you saying about Bitcoin even if you're saying the truth, with the way you say it might make someone who wants to walk away peacefully from the discussion, might start making enemy with you, that you want to lure him to do something he doesn't want to do.
802  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should we rely on prediction? on: November 13, 2023, 10:51:40 PM
The reality on Bitcoin is that its investors should predict but should never to rely on any of the predictions because Bitcoin would never lost its volatiles potential due to considering its invertors at a winning or loosing just as the nature of gambling.
Bitcoin can be valuable both on the lower values or higher values because it could either attract more investors when it is low or profiting its investors at when it is high.
So... I would live to say there is absolutely advantages on whatever case or nature Bitcoin value is rated.

I prefer investors to only rely on their strategy to make better profit so that if you lose, you only have yourself to blame and when it comes with a huge profit you know is all your doing.
Is really hard to see investors not looking at predictions and many base on some of these YouTubers who do things just to promote their channels and they get their predictions wrong.
No matter how high or low Bitcoin is, it always attract investors and at this point I feel many would continue buying more.

804  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2023/2024 on: November 13, 2023, 10:04:59 PM
What's new about the league getting corrupt? Both players held themselves but only one got booked, so attackers are permitted to pull defenders but defenders are not allowed to grab attackers; the double standard of officiating this season is worrisome and will only worsen. Antony Taylor was demoted for his terrible decision against Wolves, only to return for another disasterclass. Lol

I've always respected bald refs until Anthony Taylor came into the picture.

Sometimes players especially defender forget that they're the ones at risk, if a defender is holding an attacker they need to hold and release that hold because the attacker is also waiting for an opportunity to go down ones the ball is getting to where the battle is taking place, the best thing to do to avoid such foul is to let go of the attacker before the ball gets into the 18 yard box.
About the ref, instead of complaining of the refs I think the major problem now is VAR, the wrong calls being made by VAR is just irritating and it kills the morale and tension of the game.
I just know that demoting Anthony Taylor won't change anything, he'll come back and cause another wrong call (maybe in the next game) but to be honest with you, he (Taylor) did his best to control such a game, was expecting a red card but he understood every move the players made.
805  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: November 13, 2023, 09:48:58 PM
La Liga is no longer for just 2 teams alone as of then, we now have teams that are competing to be at the top, being superior over all other teams is what being at the top is all about. At this point we have seen something different happening in the Spanish league that is no long Barcelona and Real Madrid that are fighting to be at the top or to be the best or to be crowned champions, we have Atletico Madrid and Girona on the mix.
I like the way Atletico Madrid and Girona are fighting to be at the top of the table, it gives Barcelona and Madrid that tension each time they play, they (Barcelona and Real Madrid) just have to be careful and aware that any game they lose it will cost them their position on the table.
To me this season is going to be a very tough one for Madrid and Barcelona, I don't see them as much threat especially Real Madrid. I wish it would be either Atletico Madrid or Girona that would be crowned champions of la Liga this season, if I'm to choose I'd go for the newly informed team Girona.
806  Other / Meta / Re: So I had a person send me a pm to beg for merits. on: November 13, 2023, 12:27:35 PM
My take: a new person wouldn't ask for Merit. Why would he care? And why would he ask you?

I agree with you on that, because how can a newbie know who @philipma1957 is to go straight and ask for merit? That's just an indication that it might be one of those merit or account farmers. If it's so then that account need to be monitored until proven otherwise.
807  Other / Meta / Re: Legendary Members Spread Completely Fake Information - Merit System Do Not Work on: November 13, 2023, 08:23:59 AM
While I aggree that he doesn't deserve attention that he is getting, I disagree on ulterior motive part. This topic is reult of OP's ignorance, and its not the only nonse topic that he created in these last few months since he registered here.

The OP is trying to say something and at the same time he's getting the whole issue mixed up.
I think he's having a bad day with the merit system and at the same time a legendary member with a topic that has fake information (so he said). My question is why didn't the OP just drop his opinion on that or ignore the post relating to the fake cancer information and move on? Or if he's having issues with whatever he's pointing at why not go straight to the main issue that bothering him? And the merit system doesn't work, how?🤔
808  Other / Meta / Re: So I had a person send me a pm to beg for merits. on: November 13, 2023, 05:43:59 AM
The person did not offer money. They just asked for some free merit.

So a how to report this?

Am I required to report it?

How much can the user offer someone like you @philipma1957 to get free merit 😁?

Well to me, since it is known that you need to get merits to rank up to the next level I feel it has become an obsession to many members in the Forum, asking for free merit doesn't show how serious you are on your work or how determine you're in the Forum, is like you need a free passage to the top, which is not how it works.
OP, to me I'd say you forget about reporting the user since it hasn't happened more than one (has it🤔?). If such get to happen I think you should reply to "caution" him or her and you might as well ignore the PM if you choose to and you can also keep an eye on that user (you know we have the good, the bad and the ugly on this Forum), it saves you the stress of thinking of what to do next. Ignore those messages.
809  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Enjoy being a newbie on: November 13, 2023, 05:26:15 AM
Honestly being a newbie isn't fun at all , is like you have this pressure on you to get things right, when you start typing is like you're writing a very strong test, too much tension (so I felt at some point). When you do something in the Forum and you feel you have done something big and expect a recommendation on what you've done, the next thing is like you don't exist, all your efforts would be ignored like you're a ghost.
I think newbies have it hard on the Forum more than any other ranked members, they need to put 99.9% of their time to get a better post that would attract attention, get other members get involved in their post, to also impress high ranked members too.
Some of these "newbies" are not really newbies, they just have the name (newbie) there to cover up and they create a thread that they know have been created and act like they don't know, with those kind of threads showing up every here and there it makes it difficult to even show concern on how to lead the real newbies.
When a newbie create a topic on any board they feel that's just the end, after creating a post they let it be without contributing to their thread, they feel thats how it works (creating a top and let others talk on it). To me, some of those members are the really people to address as newbies of this Forum. And is not only newbies that create topics and run away from it, we have high ranked members doing it, sometimes some forget they created a topic.
810  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Never say your recovery seed or private key out loud! on: November 13, 2023, 04:56:05 AM
I don’t know if someone can be hypnotized to tell you their seed phrase, I believe I’ve read a topic about it on here but I can’t remember right now. I don’t think it’s a good idea to test a person’s loyalty with your seed phrase, even if the wallet is empty or the whole thing was a trick. How would you even know if the person had access to the wallet if he doesn’t move the coins in it? It’s a poor test of judgement, my friend. And adversely your actions may breed contempt in the other party.

Are you serious? To hypnotize or use of spell is the simplest way I think one can tell about their seed phrase and other things in general. With that happening I don't think there's much work to do.
Some people can go to any length to gain the trust of the one person they feel they love or feel they trust, it mustn't be that it must be with the seed phrase, the wallet can be empty too like you said but they'd monitor how thing goes after exposing it.
In some cases to make it more tempting they'd let a little amount to be in the wallet just to carry on with the test.
I too don't fancy such test, but you can't change or tell why some people go to that extent to gain trust by revealing their seed phrase.
811  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: November 12, 2023, 07:33:16 PM
I hate to say people are wrong but you should go check properly how poorly Barcelona have been playing for the past three games.
Real Sociedad they shouldn't have won, the champions league fixture against Shakhtar Donetsk and now at home once again to Alaves. They've failed to score goals, create chances and also defend very well.
Right now they're losing the game to Alaves, what are the hope's of them equalizing with Robert Lewandoski drop in form. Since the game against Real Madrid they haven't done excellently well.

What's wrong in saying people are wrong?

You're right when you said Barcelona are doing poorly but it doesn't mean they don't get the job done, fine they lost the game in the champions league which was disappointing to the fans and I feel the manager has already gotten what he wants. I know Barcelona won't come back from the international break and still be in this confused form, that's off and on.
Today's game was suppose to be a game they are suppose to use to make up for their loss with so many goals but they got only two goals, at some point it was like they were going to play out a draw.
Lewandoski hasn't been in his best of form and I feel age is also getting on him, with the fact that he just got back from injury, I feel he needs time to get back on track. So you won't expect such a player to start hitting the ground running, he did well by getting the goals in that encounter and I feel he'd be in better shape when they get back from the break.
812  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: November 12, 2023, 03:15:24 PM
Barcelona are having a good time this season with the good style of play but going against a weaker side today might be another 3pt to secure without any stress. The visitors have been struggling to get 2 straight win in this campaign, talking about Alaves, they have been extremely poor to me.
Barcelona knowing how to frustrate smaller team can make today's game more embarrassing to the visitors. I don't see any upset happening in this encounter and it would be Barcelona all the way with 2-3 goals in this game, and a win would still keep them 3rd before going for international break.
813  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Never say your recovery seed or private key out loud! on: November 12, 2023, 02:59:10 PM
You know people often don't realize how important it is to keep their recovery seed private. Even if you store your crypto in a cold wallet, if someone has access to your recovery seed they can steal your funds. Protecting recovery seed and never sharing it with anyone no matter what is very necessary and even if you're completely alone, it's not a good idea to say your recovery seed out loud talk more of making phone calls.

Things you least expect happens, some people can play with it while saying everything about it without thinking it would be used for stealing the funds. Ignorance is what get the best out of so many people these days.
No matter how hard we preach about this people still see no reason to hide it like their life depends on it, some still believe that they have someone they could tell their secret without it going side ways.
814  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 12, 2023, 01:04:09 PM
Arsenal won against out-of-form Burnley to take all three points in the title race. Arsenal, who suffered their first defeat in the league last week to Newcastle United, won with little difficulty against Burnley this week and maintained their claim in the race for the league title.

The game against Burnley was a game I never thought would go down the way it did yesterday, was expecting Burnley to make life difficult for Arsenal, frustrating the playing style of the Gunners but Vincent Kompany didn't get things in place. I believe if Burnley had planned on coming out just to get a draw things would have been very hard for Arteta's men.
But the Burnley side came out and more exposed for the Gunners to take advantage of them. It was a great win but this isn't the end, they (Arsenal) should be careful of these smaller teams, they have a way of causing much damages.
815  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should we rely on prediction? on: November 12, 2023, 08:09:02 AM
the fact that you are seeing prediction flying here and there is a strong message that you should accumulate more bitcoin and hodl it. There is no two ways about it. The prediction might be wrong or right but have you considered a situation where the price of bitcoin goes that high as soeculated but you didn't accumulate a single bitcoin? Also know that what you call speculation is a product of an in-depth analysis from expert in the industry and it's not just a random statement from anybody.

Predictions might be right or wrong and you'd agree with me that most of the predictions have cost investors (as in losing more than they gain), seeing predictions coming from these experts as you call them, they just say it and expect people to follow their predictions, at the end it won't get close to what Bitcoin price is giving.
To me these experts are trying to play god in the crypto space, is ok but they shouldn't make their predictions to look like it must come to past base on past events or whatever. If they keep doing that it will some how prevent some investors to find it hard to make decisions, is best to say the prediction is 50/50 thing.
816  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 11, 2023, 08:10:07 PM
Spurs are slowly crawling back. However, when it comes to Brighton, it seems Spurs are done with them already! Tottenham lost two games in a week after going unbeaten in their first 10 Premier League games. But let me tell you, the game was something else. Wolves were in control for most of it and totally deserved the win. Yet, we've got to give credit where it's due, and that's to Pablo Sarabia. He was an outstanding super sub.

Yes no doubt about that on Sarabia but I expected that Tottenham will score another goal to double their lead since they got a quick one from Brendan Johnson but you will find that they were struggling to get a shot on target.
The moment the goal came in, I thought wolves will relent and choose to defend rather they went on the offensive and kept pressing Tottenham to the point that if you weren't following the game you would think they (Wolves) were the ones leading.
This is the second time Tottenham have lost and it has cost them their reign at the top and with their next game to Aston villa, can they be able to get a win when they couldn't win a struggling Wolves? Only time will tell.
817  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 11, 2023, 02:44:24 PM
This second half, Tottenham haven't been too dominating, though they're are missing a lot of chances as well, a draw will be justifiable for me given their outstanding performance this second half, as it stands now is 1-1.
Wolves 2 - Tottenham 1

This is a scoreline that many would expect to go in favor of Tottenham Hotspur, like they would have come out stronger after losing to Chelsea but who knows, the Blues left a mark on Spurs and now they have 2 losses in two games.  I feel this isn't going to end well for Spurs unless they find a way to get a win if not, they might just be like Brighton after losing to Chelsea.
818  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 11, 2023, 08:48:04 AM
Not really a fan of early kick off but this encounter between Wolves vs Tottenham Hotspur won't be an easy game, especially for Tottenham Hotspur after they got a very bitter defeat against Chelsea with 2 red cards and some injured players.
I feel the visitors talking about Spurs, would be the ones to be in the state of managing any available players to fill in the spot of those unavailable players, it would be a game the home side would like to take advantage of.
I hope Tottenham won't drop their excellent form and start losing games starting from this encounter against Wolves, because is like any team Chelsea get a win against does seem to be doing well from the next game, is like the Chelsea curse.
819  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Having no money to invest in Bitcoin is even better on: November 11, 2023, 08:35:29 AM
Beyond that, most people who invest in Bitcoin actually earned it from working in the same space. Now, if the Bitcoin space availed you the opportunity to work and earn from it then you'd have no complaints as to investing in it cos the funds came through it. Its going to be a confident decision for you as an investor and everyone wants to increase the amount of Bitcoin they hold, why won't you love to do the same

I would want to do the same but when I don't have as much as you have to start with do you expect me to wait till I get to the amount you have before I start investing? No, to me is best to start with the little you have then with time you'd get to that amount of Bitcoin you talking about.
I know if you go big while investing your profit would speak more for you and going with little money would do the same, so is one step at a time to get to a greater hight, use what you have to start your Bitcoin investment.
820  Other / Archival / Re: Account Birthday on: November 11, 2023, 08:07:57 AM
Agreed.  For having been here a decade, OP's post count and merit stats are lower than someone who'd been much more active during that 10 year period.  I don't even recognize his username (and that's not a slight against you, OP).

Very funny😁, you know you can be here on the Forum for long without knowing a member who has been here the same time as you? It happens and maybe the OP has been operating underground without you knowing. Well we shouldn't put much concern about that because if we do I believe some investigations would be going on anytime soon,  you know.

So....congrats, I guess?  I still don't quite understand why people feel the need to create these kinds of threads, and in this case hZti hasn't been a consistently active member of the community for the number of years he's celebrating.  Aside from my party pooping however, ten years is a hell of a long time to be a member of a forum, especially one dealing with bitcoin.  As far as I'm concerned, we're still in the early days.

You just said the truth, but what do you expect when we have many users who want to be noticed by all means and creating such thread is another way of getting it done. We can't stop them from creating such thread but all we have to do is congratulate them but keeping an eye on them is needed too, just saying though.
