If ETF is denied we could well see price under $1000 again probably for a short time.

1743  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Is Armory BIP44 compliant? If development stops, how can I recover my wallet? on: March 04, 2017, 07:26:22 PM
Curious as to what the steps to take would be following development stopping

You can not restore your Armory seed in another wallet. It would make sense if development stops to send all your bitcoin to a wallet that is actively being maintained.
1744  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Big problem with unconfirmed transaction on: March 04, 2017, 04:09:21 PM
I have the same issue! Not sure what to do now. I sent a low fee. I didn't know anything about fees prior to sending. Learned my lesson. So what do I do now??? Just wait? And what about fees, where should I update info? I don't recall thee being a few option when broadcasting. I waited 2 days at unconfirmed. Today is day 3 and it has been pruned...

For those who are not familiar the Transaction Fee Booster thread is here.

If you like hardware wallets both Trezor and Ledger Nano S work fine with Electrum 2.7.18 giving you the ability to use RBF and dynamic fees while keeping your private keys offline. As long as you send replaceable transactions you should never need to use the separate transaction fee booster. Also I have never had to wait more than an hour for an Electrum transaction to confirm when fee slider is set to high. The new release seems to do a good job of estimating fees.

Good point. If you take a look at weekly BBands on Bitstamp we have two weekly closes outside the top band and three closes usually signals a reversal. On the daily chart we already had three closes outside but price is still advancing. The Fibonacci extension at $1380 shows a level where taking some profits might be a good idea.

I am sorry if I sound a bit nooby with this basic question, but I have explored the beauty of the collectibles in this forum just recently. So, what I do not understand is how do I conceale the QR code exactly? I get that I put the QR code into the collectible then what do I do to conceale it?

If you make a gold coin less than one ounce or less than .999 fine collectors tend to lose interest. Titan already has the funded gold coin market covered and they seem not to be interested in selling an unfunded coin. Silver Wallet could appeal to those collectors who want an unfunded gold coin as long as the premium over spot gold is reasonable, certainly no more than Titan charges. Also decoration with silver plating should probably be avoided.
1750  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Transaction Accelerator on: March 03, 2017, 05:13:40 PM
FWIW if people would start using wallets like Electrum that offer replace by fee routinely there would be no need for the accelerator.

A pool supporting SegWit like BTCC or Slush should offer the same service.
1752  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why I want the BTC ATH $1242 breached and become the floor. To Kill FUD dead. :) on: March 02, 2017, 10:24:20 PM
This chart was drawn before the ATH was taken out but the Fibonacci extensions are still valid. You can be sure traders will be watching the levels to take profits.

1753  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Safe buying alternative to CoinBase? on: March 02, 2017, 10:16:10 PM
Don't know where you live but you need to get approved at an exchange in your country that lets you sell bitcoin and withdraw cash to your bank account. ACH transfers take a few days to a week to hit your bank.

This is what is starting to frustrate me. Crypto is supposed to be fast and instant, so why does it take so damn long to purchase it? I could understand a few days, but when it gets into the weeks and months range things start getting ridiculous.

Just give Coinbase what they want to get verified for higher limits. If you do not like their AML/KYC requirements you just go elsewhere.

1755  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano S - can i import private keys? on: March 02, 2017, 08:42:26 PM
i'm looking into hardware wallets. i dig the look of the nano s but i can't find much info about importing the private keys from my existing paper wallets.

is this possible or does everything depend on generating a brand new setup when you get it going?

i'm assuming you can't as the seed won't cover them but it would be good to have it confirmed.

You have to set up the Nano S with the Chrome bitcoin app, which does not have the ability to sweep private keys. Sweep the private keys to a wallet like Blockchain.info then send to an address in your newly set up Nano S.

If you know your way around Electrum once your Nano S is set up you can start Electrum and have it connect to your Nano S then sweep keys directly from paper wallet into Electrum. Funds will go to a new address in your Nano S.

I am digging using my Nano S with Electrum as I have dynamic fees enabled and also replace by fee. When I send if somehow Electrum sets the fee too low I can click on the replaceable transaction and bump the fee. Right now with congestion that is a good option to have, and I always set the fee slider in Electrum to HIGH.
1756  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano S hardware wallet integration with a desktop wallet, help please.. on: March 02, 2017, 08:36:52 PM
Latest Electrum now fully supports Nano S.

1758  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Help 48 hours unconfirmed transaction + Invisible transaction on blockchain on: March 02, 2017, 05:04:37 PM
ViaBTC reported acceleration successful so the next block they mine should confirm the transaction.
1759  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Help 48 hours unconfirmed transaction + Invisible transaction on blockchain on: March 02, 2017, 04:47:22 PM
I just pushed your transaction through https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/ should confirm within a few hours

If you are using Electrum use the latest version, make sure you have dynamic fees AND replace by fee (RBF) enabled. When you send set the fee slider all the way up to HIGH and also check the replaceable box. That way if your transaction is taking too long to confirm you can just click on it and bump the fee up.
1760  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Silver Wallets - A New Kind of Physical Storage on: March 02, 2017, 02:44:40 PM
A quarter ounce gold coin would be too small for the private key and hologram most likely. Half ounce could be the same diameter or close as the silver coins but would be quite thin.
