1761  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What Altcoins do you want to hold in 2017? on: December 11, 2016, 05:13:36 PM
1.BTC
2.FCT
3.ETC

What makes yo uthink ETC will pump again? And why FCT? Is that Feathercoin? or Factom? I lost track with so many damn coins lol.

So right now we have the entire altcoin market on the red, I don't see any coin other than Bitcoin that's worth holding anywhere near long term, not even mid term. Everything seems shit compared to Bitcoin. I don't ant to lose Bitcoins by holding alts when I can just hold Bitcoin and watch it go u pagains the dollar.
1762  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NEver keep all your coins on an exchange on: December 11, 2016, 04:54:52 PM
People often remember MtGox, Cryptsy and the recent Bitfinex fiasco as exchange failures wher people lose coins, but they always forget to mention the Mintpal disaster. I lost coins in Mintpal and so did a lot of other people. Luckly I only lost a few random altcoins, I think it was FLT or something, some feathercoins, some worldcoins... not much in BTC, but there was a guy that lost thousands of dollars in Quark. It was a big blow for altcoin holders.
1763  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [FORBES] Is Bitcoin Better Than Gold? on: December 11, 2016, 04:42:13 PM
It's clear now that bitcoin has surpassed gold to become the ultimate safe haven on earth, but there are still tons of gold bugs that constantly say bitcoin is a scam. Of course they are old people that don't even understand bitcoin.

I think as the old generations die, the new generations will understand that bitcoin is objectively superior to gold and move all their wealth there.
1764  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Effects of Banning Bitcoin ? on: December 11, 2016, 04:22:11 PM
The only way to ban bitcoin effectively is by governments having a global agreement on banning it, which has never happened and will never happen because it's simply impossible that governments all over the world agree on any matter. It's absurd so it's a non issue. Bitcoin cannot be banned by the derived conclusion of the aforementioned premises.
1765  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are your favorite gambling games? on: December 10, 2016, 04:42:14 PM
I want to start learning how to play poker and go on the online casinos first, then start going into the real life casinos because online poker is boring compared to the real life situation of playing it with real people. Also I am paranoid that if I plan poker online i am going to get scammed by cheaters, lots of poker bots these days and it pisses me off the idea of losing money to a cheater.
1766  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 207: Rousey vs Nunes Prediction and Info Thread on: December 10, 2016, 03:51:09 PM
@pereira4. Yes that is why I keep saying that it is better to bet for Amanda than it is for Ronda. I do not know what the odds makers are thinking or what inside information have but this fight might be so close. Ronda has already one foot out and ready to retire. She said she will "soon". Amanda still has high ambition to become a dominant champion in women's bantam weight.

Indeed Amanda Nunes is way more hungry for victory and motivated after coming from some good fights, but I don't count out Rousey at all. I watched more videos of the Conan interview and realized that she is looking way bigger than ever before like she has more muscles than me for her height. Amanda still has the inch of height of advantage but Ronda is looking strong. We will see soon only 3 weeks to go.
1767  Economy / Economics / Re: Basic income cut in Finland -> trouble on: December 10, 2016, 03:35:21 PM
Hey,

Now i read our goverment planning -$215,89 "basic income" "daymoneys" next year  Undecided
I hate our goverment, they have been eaten they promises, raise taxes and cost of living in
Capital City Helsinki area.   Angry

You should consider yourself lucky to still have high basic income than other part of the world. But yes government will always suck from citizens raising taxes and with high inflation to print more fiat, that will increase cost of living.

Its Better to run own business rather than doing same thing whole day for whole life and earn fixed salary per month.

Running your own business sounds easier said than done. Most business have a big initial investment, and if it goes bad, and odds are against you, you will go bankrupt in most cases. So the only viable business for poor people that need welfare would be an online business, and making money on the internet is hard. You need a lot of traffic to make 10 dollars a day, let alone more.
1768  Economy / Economics / Re: Why have Bitcoin instead of cash? on: December 10, 2016, 03:28:54 PM
You can argue all you want but at the end of the day, cash is going away within the next 10 to 20 years, so by then ask yourself, what's going to be the best alternative to cash if it doesn't even exist anymore? exactly. If by 10 to 20 years you are still not using bitcoin, you will be forced to use it because there will be no other viable alternative to cash.
1769  Economy / Economics / Re: Entrance for 1 in a million 21 BTC club is now $16.180 on: December 10, 2016, 02:56:29 PM
Im going to need that the price stays as stable as possible, if it keeps growing fast im not going to be able to hit the 21 BTC goal in time. I was able to make BTC faster when it was only 250, now it's so hard to make 1 every month. Spending 770 dollars every month on bitcoin is something that very few people can do, but I will keep hustling until I reach 21, and after I reach 21 I will start gambling in the alt market with the extra BTC beyond that 21 goal.
1770  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain is the Trojan Horse that will push Bankers and Investors finally to Bitcoin! on: December 10, 2016, 02:40:27 PM
Blockchain and Bitcoin are totally separate of eachother.
Banks may take some interest in Bitcoin in the coming future if price is high enough and there are enough unique users,
but most are going to focus on Blockchain technology and how they can use it for their own purposes- banking ledgers/ transaction record storage.

But that is useless if they pretend to compete with an open permissionless borderless blockchain like the bitcoin blockchain. Is like competing with an intranet vs the internet, they will never win, it's already set in stone. Specially when they remove physical cash, everyone will go to bitcoin because no one likes having 0 financial privacy.
1771  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has no competition on: December 10, 2016, 02:29:06 PM
If we look at the price and value bitcoin certainly doesn't have any competition from any other cryptocurrency. If we look at popularity bitcoin again has no competition. The number of people who have been bitcoin's supporters is increasing daily so in my opinion bitcoin certainly has no competition. Whenever we talk about cryptocurrency the only thought which comes to our minds is that of bitcoin and no other coin. Even the people who are not into cryptocurrency as much as we are have heard about bitcoin but not about other coins so bitcoin has no potential competitor.
There's no competition because ever since bitcoin was created it was not overtake buy other legitimate altcoins on it's regular price. Bitcoin so far is very promising as we can witness with a great price increase and what I notice, the moment it increases the price of most altcoins decreases, so probably it is very dominant currency in the crypto world.
Bitcoin is essentially the reserve currency in a digital world to be honest. It's essentially the USD to all other altcoins, and because of this it is natural fr more users to trend towards Bitcoin and work for something that maintains a large majority of its value instead of something else.

Also, community sizes matter. A lot. The best way to have something grow online is to have people behind it, and if people are behind it, then it will grow and take a large market share.

It's more like gold than USD in it's characteristics. Bitcoin acts as an unregulated and non government issued digital gold that the rest of crypto currencies gravitate around. This is why it's very important that the block size remains conservative so the network can remain decentralized enough. Now I just hope that we get segwit as soon as possible to keep innovating.
1772  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe that win in gambling is depending on your luck ? on: December 09, 2016, 04:27:12 PM
Luck is 100% in gambling, whoever tells you anything else is lying. That is what gambling is about, luck. You can only be intelligent in the way you take losses, you must know when to retire because if you keep playing after losses you may end up bankrupt.
1773  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 207: Rousey vs Nunes Prediction and Info Thread on: December 09, 2016, 03:36:51 PM
Ronda Rousey was on Conan O'Brien's show just recently.  It was a fun watch and watching her being so real is making me root for her more and more as the event comes nearer and nearer.  Here's the Conan video with the Rousey interview.

Ronda Rousey - Conan O'brien Full Interview 12/7/2016
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MeC41U81eY

Here's the latest promotional video for UFC 207's main event.

UFC 207: Ronda Rousey Returns
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxnH4uX7aBU

Enjoy the videos!

Conan o Brien is the funniest guy in the business right now. I hate Jimmy Kimmel and the other Jimmy, Jimmy Fallon, they are so fake. Conan is just naturally funny, he should be the n1 host. Anyway Ronda is looking good but I think Nunes has better odds to win, she is a very dangerous striker, and we have seen what happened with Holms another great striker.
1774  Economy / Speculation / Re: When do we cross the 1000 USD barrier? on: December 09, 2016, 03:33:58 PM
Im pretty sure we will be sitting at 1000+ dollars before 12 months go by. We are only like 5 dollars away from 778 which is the resistance we are battling at right now, once we cross 778 then this will mean we are stronger to go 800+
1775  Economy / Speculation / Re: I dumped. Are you? on: December 09, 2016, 03:23:24 PM
Damn OP, time to admit you fucked up big time. We had 450 dollars by the time you dumped, now we have 770 and growing.

You can take the lesson: If you dump, you will regret sooner or later. It's always better to buy and hold, never sell. No matter what happens, one does never sell. When you see a dip, you see an opportunity to buy more, that's all.

finland is very good is basic income in the world
alhought is reduce 215,89 dollar is still good salary,
iam read information in google, basic income in finland still over 3000 dollar

Lol how can finland have a basic income of 3000+ that's stupid. The basic income in Finland is if I understood correctly, about 500 dollars which is not bad considering in other european countries the minimum wage is less than that basic income... but I guess the cost of living in finland is higher than in said countries so at the end of the day is the same, you are fucked if you dont have a good paying job or business.
1777  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is officially dead on: December 09, 2016, 02:50:46 PM
Updated reasons I like Litecoin:

  • Capable of four times as many transactions as Bitcoin in a ten minute period. Frankly if payment processors had adopted Litecoin in the past year current Bitcoin block discussions would be irrelevant (and likely the price of both coins higher). Anyone who has watched these discussions understands the immediate advantage of a network with larger transactional capability.
  • Faster confirmation times. The only people who don't think this is important have never spent a single coin or they have patience that the average person does not possess.
  • Blocks are not full.
  • The faster block time of litecoin reduces the risk of double spending attacks.
  • Anti-spam.
  • Fast well established network. Current Hashrate is 2,100 GH/s. Since scrypt is memory intensive it is known to be approximately 1000 times slower hardware wise in comparison to SHA256. Fair comparison to the Bitcoin network requires multiplying that hashrate by 1000 (2,100TH/s). The fact is for most of Litecoins history the hashrate has been relatively high and secure. Those comparing it to the Bitcoin network without considering this 1k factor are either being disingenuous or just ignorant of the facts.
  • Continuous development look here at number of releases in past year: https://github.com/litecoin-project/litecoin/releases
  • Upcoming new features and active development look here for whats happening in 2016:
    https://litecoinassociation.org/data/roadmap.pdf
  • Longevity. Many coins have temporarily eclipsed litecoin as they were marketed for the purpose of increasing the fiat accounts of a small group and emptying the accounts of new users. Unfortunately this has been detrimental to crypto-space in general.
  • Great community. Definitly helps when consensus is needed.
  • Unlike bitcoin, it is possible to make changes to litecoin.
  • Fully supported by GoCoin a growing merchant payment processor used by thousands of merchants https://www.gocoin.com/ as well as other processors such as coinpayments, Asmoney, Alfacoins and Coinify
  • Liquidity. You can sell thousands and not crash the market. Maintains value. Look at the chart here indicating volume in the last 24 hours relative to other coins http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/litecoin/#markets in fact volume has remained high month after month for years.
  • The speed, liquidity and value of Litecoin is useful to traders seeking arbitrage opportunities between exchanges.
  • Now on GDAX soon to be on coinbase.
  • Upcoming release to include a on-chain adaptive block size scaling solution. This will substantially increase the transactional capacity of Litecoin.
  • Planned anonymity features for an upcoming release. https://www.reddit.com/r/litecoin/comments/53c0v6/confidential_transaction_for_litecoin/
  • Fair release. In a crypto world of premined and ICO releases many appreciate this fact. The code was released well before the Genesis block was mined and everyone knew when it would be going live; therefore, individuals could anticipate and get their miners and software ready.
  • It's primary function is to be a cryptocurrency.
  • Still mineable in many western countries even after electrical costs are factored in. Here in Canada my Titans still make a profit long after shutting my Neptunes down.
  • Many low value coins can be merge mined with it increasing profits for miners
  • It will always maintain the integrity of the blockchain (no hard forks for special interests).
  • Likely the first coin to activate segwit on it's network.
  • Possible upcoming block size increase.
  • Security.

Bitcoin doesn't have full blocks and is faster and all of that because almost no one uses it, just like all those altcoins compared to bitcoin. So it's easy to say how a coin doesn't have any problems when the volume is nothing next to bitcoin.

I think Litecoin can be a good silver just in case something goes wrong with bitcoin temporarily but it will never replace bitcoin. All of the development is happening within bitcoin, all litecoin and the rest of alts (including bitcoin unlimited etc) just steal content from bitcoin core.
1778  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monero's ANON FAIL ! on: December 09, 2016, 02:40:03 PM
Pseudo-anonimity is good enough for me.

What I find hilarious is that 96.52% of Monero's volume belongs to a single, centralized exchange (polo) which also require people's identity. Until that's fixed I'm not sure how people can push Monero.

We will need full anonymity once governments start banning bitcoin and trying to get people's money, and they will eventually, once they get rid of cash and people resort to bitcoin. So by then we better have a stronger and more anonymous bitcoin. The good news is with segwit and mimblewimble and coinjoin and all that we can achieve good anonymity within bitcoin,.
1779  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 207: Rousey vs Nunes Prediction and Info Thread on: December 07, 2016, 06:28:15 PM
So there is some drama going on with Ronda Rousey again. According to the reports she was really upset after the face off with Amanda Nunes at the UFC 205 weigh ins. It was also reported that she was very emotional at the backstage and that she needed to be consoled. Could this be a sign of weakness that is still haunting Ronda? She might not be mentally ready for this fight and she might possibly pull out.

I think she is going to lose it, unless she gets a lucky KO, Nunez is too robust, strong, and an excellent standup fighter, I think Ronda is getting KO'd and she is going to retire that night just like Miesha Tate did after her last 2 KO's. She is never to get over not having that perfect 0 defeats record.
I think if Ronda Rousey loses this one against Amanda Nunez this will be her last match inside the cage and she will focus on her movie career.I am not sure Ronda is a knock out artist and could KO Nunez .If she is to win she will be winning by her trade mark judo take down and an arm bar but the interesting thing is Nunez is a black belt in BJJ and so i am expecting a good match.

Indeed, he should have retired before lossing against Holly Holm but then again, how can you know when you are going to lose? People love undefeated people and that sells a lot of movies. Right now in her position she needs to get a couple of wins then retire, if she retires with 2 loses... that will not sell as many movies. People like winners.
1780  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin the future of online gambling? on: December 07, 2016, 05:18:26 PM
Of course iti s, it's going to be the most lucrative industry on the planet, as people find a way to gamble away borderless, instantaneously, and for little to no fees, permissionless, and in the comfrot of your home. Millions of billions of dollars in form of BTC will go throught the network daily in the future only through the use on casinos.
