1762  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Skywave is not controlled by USA govt (unlike BitSat) on: March 18, 2015, 03:20:11 PM
I'm not a big fan of Bitcoin but I can't just watch as you dig a grave for it. BitSat is controlled by USA govt, why not use something that can't be shut down by Obama? Maybe this could help you - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skywave? Or something else?

IP over HF is still a bit slow. Isn't it? Perhaps I've missed something but as far as I can remember the bandwidth was something like 1200 bit/sec at best (but 600 bit/sec was the most common a few years ago).
1763  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Tourists killed in Tunisia museum attack on: March 18, 2015, 01:45:26 PM
Armed men have killed seven tourists and a Tunusian citizen in an attack on a museum in Tunisia's capital Tunis, according the interior ministry spokesman.

Tunisian media reports also suggested that Tunisia's National assembly adjacent to the museum also came under attack on Wednesday, with politicians saying gunfire could be heard at the scene.

"There are eight victims" including "seven foreigners", ministry spokesman Mohamed Ali Aroui told reporters.

What the hell is happening in Tunisia ? Do you think he is a terrorist (Roll Eyes) or only a crazy/sad man?

If you take a look at the known foreigner jihadists in ISIS you will see that one of the biggest contributor is Tunisia. In next door Libya the local ISIS branch is also gaining ground rather quickly. So he could be easily a terrorist.
1764  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is the European Union Dying? on: March 18, 2015, 01:09:29 PM
So because we're not hitting the children quota, we will die out?
Yeah right. Those rates are constantly changing over time, and are useless. Besides, the planet is overpopulated as it is.

Oh! The overpopulation myth again Smiley. That's cute.

1765  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is the European Union Dying? on: March 18, 2015, 12:31:32 PM
Not just that, it is man's natural state. Laws/Rules are of course necessary for a functioning society wether it be cultural, voluntary or compelled. I do not know where capitalism will end up, it's still here in some shattered remnant and continues to to create innovation despite the onslaught against it during the last century.

As you said it's man's natural state. Until today only capitalism been able to give some sort of vision of the future and the feeling of progress. I think (besides the lack of basic maths) the lack of vision of the future was one of the main reasons of the socialist economy.
1766  Other / Politics & Society / Re: If Ayn Rand never existed Bitcoin might actually be bearable. on: March 18, 2015, 12:16:15 PM
Exactly, you can't just dismiss mathematics, I learned this a long time ago, when Marxists and Communists have a mathematical solution to the problems they perceive with Capitalism I'll gladly listen to them, because until then they're just whining. That said, I do think that anti-austerity protestors and the like are worse because they just want this bullshit to continue and only care about themselves, they're the most selfish ones of all because even if they economy is destroyed as long as they get their pensions and pay they're happy, but mainly, it's just the pensions they give a fuck about.

Very true. I think every sensible housewife could tell to the politicians what to do when the family income isn't enough. Yes, get a better job, or get a second work, but until that's done immediate austerity measures are needed to keep things floating. (Of course banksters are offering an alternative by using credit cards and keep spending happily, but everyone with some minimal common sense knows how that will end.) According to my past experience only the kids used to make anti-austerity protests and supporting the use of credit cards... Smiley
1767  Other / Politics & Society / Re: If Ayn Rand never existed Bitcoin might actually be bearable. on: March 18, 2015, 11:49:19 AM
That is precisely why I'm getting fed up of the anti-capitalist rhetoric, not all rich people are con-artists, some are just either incredibly lucky or have worked very hard to get where they are, adding to that, to try and get rid of capitalism you're trying to get rid of basic mathematics and that's about as impossible as trying to defy the laws of physics.

As I grown up in one of the so called commie states I've seen how the economy felt apart from the very bottom to the top because of the lack of the very basic maths and psychology. The marxist economy is destined to fail by design. IMO those hard working first and second generation "capitalists" used to move the world forward.
1768  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is the European Union Dying? on: March 18, 2015, 11:42:12 AM
It's capitalism that's dying, the collapse of the EU is just a symptom.

You see, my political commissar in the army told me the same stuff twenty some years ago. As I see capitalism is still here but our glorious socialism went down the drain. Even the Chinese hard-liners switched to some sort of capitalism. Capitalism most likely will transform over the time to a more sustainable hopefully more localized form but that will be still capitalism, as capitalism is the natural way for economy.
1769  Other / Politics & Society / Re: If Ayn Rand never existed Bitcoin might actually be bearable. on: March 18, 2015, 10:25:11 AM
When you find a solution to one of these problems you care about so much that doesn't involve exortion or emotional blackmail feel free to post it and I'd be happy to support you.
How do you feel about eating the rich? Not shooting them, just feeding them alive to the millions of starving poor created by their greed.

I know a couple of rich people who was working really hard for decades to get rich. Some of them was even working at night too just to get some job done for the deadline, some of them kept working almost all day on some designs or inventions. In the same time "the poor" was hanging around the pub and kept joking on these blokes. Finally these guys got (sometimes extremely) rich and now "the poor" in the pub condemning them for being bloodsucking capitalist.
1770  Other / Politics & Society / Re: If Ayn Rand never existed Bitcoin might actually be bearable. on: March 17, 2015, 10:08:34 PM
Except that Ayn Rand knew fuck all about human nature, and neither do you. How the hell is Ayn Rand still a thing, anyway? If you want to learn about real human nature, read these three books:

Maybe you are right, but I'd be grateful if you could point out my mistakes. I haven't read the first one but I've read the Guns Germs and Steel and it's  actually full of factual errors and misinterpretations. From Rifkin I've read The Hydrogen Economy. After that book I can't take him seriously. As I heard his newer books are more likely environmentalist and commie propaganda then anything about real human nature Smiley.
1771  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Looks like Mars One is a scam in the making! on: March 17, 2015, 10:02:29 PM
This would be the ultimate scam. Ppl will be happy because of they got scammed and no one will come back to complain. Smart.
1772  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] The Crypto Loan is here on: March 17, 2015, 04:00:15 PM
The website design is too simple.
And actually I know the ending Roll Eyes

You are right the design is pretty khmm... minimalistic. In addition this isn't a loan site but a ponzi site therefore yes, we know how it will end.
1773  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Need ideas for a bitcoin related business on: March 17, 2015, 03:53:56 PM
You can try to develop (or join the development) a lightweight bitcoin alias system. I think it would be much better to send BTC to a twitter like handle like @HoneyBunny then to 1wtf1sTh1sFuck1nL0ngSTuffH3r3. The current semi-existing solution (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=84653.0) is pretty much useless as you need to download the whole bloody namecoin blockchain as well (what is almost as big as the BTC blockchain).

Making an SMS based payment gateway could be an other good idea especially for developing countries. Asian African and South American immigrant workers using BTC in surprisingly large numbers for sending money back to home as it's much cheaper then a bank or WU transfer. This could be nice and dandy, but unfortunately many times the recipients are struggling to collect it, because of the shitty internet infrastructure. However apart from some really remote places, good ole GSM is available almost everywhere. Something like SEND <senderusername> to <recipientusername> <amountofBTC> in a text would make things really easy and this service could be available on doggy old phones as well.

If you want some more funny stuff you can make a good RPG with BTC as in game currency. (This one https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=406675.0 seems to be dead)

IMO yet another exchange/dice/ponzi/mining/scrambler/sell-something-useless sites not going to make much difference.
1774  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is this bad or good news? on: March 17, 2015, 03:12:59 PM
BTW this is pretty much a paved way for total financial control and surveillance, but on the other hand this initiative will definitely raise awareness and maybe acceptance of bitcoin. Perhaps we should rename BTC as "Freedom" Smiley.
1775  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Virtual currency in real-life strife as Bitcoin suffers bankruptcy blow on: March 17, 2015, 02:22:47 PM
Never heard of this World Bitcoin Association before. Its going belly up will have zero effect on bitcoin I reckon.

Good luck, g

That was my first question too Smiley. WTF is World Bitcoin Association?
1776  Other / Politics & Society / Re: If Ayn Rand never existed Bitcoin might actually be bearable. on: March 17, 2015, 02:05:45 PM
It's not that, you can be an egotistical maniac all you like.
The problem I have is that you should stop trying to come up with a way where everybody else would have that attitude without society collapsing.

In smaller societies that attribute will be always balanced and counteracted by selfishness itself. I do a favour to you and expect that you will do the same when I need it. I think this is one of the most ancient and most basic human behaviour patterns. Those who break the circle will be soon outcasts, thus the circle will "repair" itself. Same thing applies to cooperation between these small communities. All of them are selfish but in many cases they overrule their selfishness for future gains. However generalizing this schema to bigger communities is IMO a mistake. That never worked very well.

Quote
Which gets me to my point: Without Rand you would just be considered oddly anti-social and not claim that your option is part of some greater scheme.

Well, IMO that's not Rand's fault. Without Marx many ppl would be would just be considered a thief Smiley.
1777  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is the European Union Dying? on: March 17, 2015, 01:41:08 PM
Fuck nationalism, how about localism?

Localism is a really good idea. Paired with a Swiss type direct democracy (what seems to me as a practical implementation of localism itself) that would be the most ideal political system.
1778  Other / Politics & Society / Re: One People, One World, One Government on: March 17, 2015, 01:35:57 PM
The United States of American is absolutely a miracles of human development, with most developed economic, technology and military, it's her duty to manage the world, to spread value of freedom and democracy, to make the world a better place.

"Ein volk ein reich ein führer"... well, we've heard that before. Those guys also said the same stuff what you just have said here, only the name of the country was different Smiley.

This thread are insulting for jews =(

Jews might try to sacrifice Soros and Barnake for the common good. That would greatly improve their reputation Smiley.
