The next Champions League tournament will be starting on the 18th of September 2018 and due to the success of the previous Premier League and World Cup pools I have decided to do one for the UEFA Champions League. The entry fee will again be £25 in bitcoin and the prizes will be distributed between the top five players who gain the most points. The actual prize amounts will depend on how many users join but all money in the pot will be distributed between the winners. We will be using the Superbru website to conduct the tournament and points are awarded as follows:

If you want to see how the tournament will be run please see the current Premier League pool here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4479837.0

If you wish to join up at £25 in bitcoin please state your interest below. Money will be collected in likely the week or so before the tournament starts.

It won't be unbanned.  Create a new account and don't do the same thing again.
Why are you suggesting he do that, exactly?

Why not? That's what everyone else does. There's not a single admin looking into ban evasion so it's futile (or looking into anything else for that matter). You could have one hundred accounts banned and evade it on your 1000 others and the admins won't look into it. Rules are pointless when they're not enforced. Might as well just let people copy and paste since nobody cares about doing anything about it and if it wasn't for me and rickbig I doubt anyone would do that at all.

I understand that ban forever. (((
(Can the trial period be somehow?)

It won't be unbanned.  Create a new account and don't do the same thing again.

I want to be an active user of your forum and participate in its further development!
Thanks, Regards lipochka_s

You don't. You want to copy other's posts in order to get paid. Pure laziness and greed.
1786  Other / Meta / Re: Moderators, please, restore my account lipochka_s !!! on: August 17, 2018, 04:19:51 PM
It's forever. Looks like you were copying users posts. We don't need those sorts of users here as they're not here to contribute to discussion.

One would say that Bitcoin Sections are extremely undermerited looking at the numbers, but I'd say that Merit Sources do visit those boards. Nevertheless, we also find plenty of spam there (Bitcoin Discussion), and the really technical stuff is not that easy to follow and neither do those sections have a large amount of posts on a daily basis.

In the words of "great" Donald Trump. Bitcoin Discussion board is a "shithole" and I don't blame merit sources for not visiting that place often. But people helping out in the technical stuff do deserve to be merited. They are the ones who are actually "Helping" the users here. That's why I believe we should assign merit sources to different boards so that right people are meriting the right folks. You don't want a merit source who knows nothing about Bitcoin technicalities meriting users in that board.

Bitcoin discussion has become largely unusable. It's just full of farmers churning out their generic one liners. Go in any thread and play spot the farmer.

How many can you find on this page here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4820477.1140

Three merit for anyone if you can catch them all.

Can you spot them on this page and the one after?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4868904.80

4 merit for swatting the 4 bots there.

Remove signatures from Junior so these scumbags aren't going to get paid by some crapcoin ICO as soon as they've made 30 posts. Let's see how long it takes them to get ten merit to become a Member. Probably never. If you earn ten merits then you've earned your right to have a signature.
1788  Other / Meta / Re: Member creating multiple threads for extremely similar 'products'. on: August 17, 2018, 01:13:47 PM
They're probably hacked accounts as well. Sorry, "shared" (just without the owners consent).

Has anyone been watching Sacha Baron Cohen's new show? I've laughed out loud a few times during each episode. Some stuff is hard to watch though it's that cringe-worthy. Sacha has balls of steel and the things he gets people to do blows my mind at how gullible they are. My favourite bit was the second part of the "How to trap Mexicans":

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJJmnf5Yz84
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QuStxZ-QfM

"I'm a self-hating white male and believe in equal rights for all 24 genders."
I wonder how many shitposters will just read the title and respond something like "America is a country".

If you're not aware of Sacha I recommend watching everything he's ever done. Great satire.
1790  Other / Meta / Re: New rank idea: Bounty Member on: August 16, 2018, 08:41:03 AM
but theymos has already stated that the ultimate solution will be to remove signatures completely if the merit system doesn't work and there's no suggestion more strict than that.

I wonder what the defcon status is currently for the nuclear option?

I dunno. I'm sure it will be the very last resort for him but I get the feeling one day he'll just snap and remove them to solve the issue instantly. Far too much workload is being placed upon him and nothing is getting done at all. The forum just gets worse in the process and good ideas to improve it are completely ignored without even being commented on or discussed at all. How difficult is it to punish campaign and hold them to some actual standards? Merit requirements should be added to become Junior or signatures removed from lower ranks. More sub board mods should be assigned to spread out workload. Those three simple things would work wonders and improve the situation here greatly, but nothing changes and things get worse until the day it's just easier to go nuclear.
1791  Other / Meta / Re: ■■■My 2013 legendary account was hacked :( help me to find how and to recover it on: August 16, 2018, 08:19:45 AM
People say it usually takes 6 months to a year, just hang in there. It will be recovered soon hopefully.

No. It's somewhere between months to never. Realerre and everyone else are unfortunately just wasting their time right now.
1792  Other / Meta / Re: get banned after join in the cashbery coin bounty on: August 15, 2018, 05:33:53 PM
Maybe only admins can issue them.
1793  Other / Meta / Re: get banned after join in the cashbery coin bounty on: August 15, 2018, 05:19:30 PM
I got Banned from displaying signatures for one year.
Wow, just wow Cheesy
Is there any public announcement on this? Since when is this option available? If this is a new thing the Mods can use, it should be widely known to scare signature spammers.

First I've seen of it.

It was always possible. I remember months ago when theymos (or was it hilariousandco?) did the same thing with a group of users and banned them from showing their signature for 1 month.

But now they are banning for 1 year? Wow.

News to me.
1794  Other / Meta / Re: Rules in the forum on: August 15, 2018, 02:54:33 PM

This one makes sense. Can't we just restrict the use of the account to one particular IP? By doing so we can make sure that they don't sell their accounts right?

We could, but it almost certainly won't happen. People can just use a new connection or a proxy though. I've suggested in the past that once you create an account here that IP is burned and can no longer be used to create one (without maybe paying a fee).
1795  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cloudbet's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: August 15, 2018, 10:33:44 AM
Well, I didn't have chance to do any predictions the last round. But, I'm still quietly confident Wink Nah, I'm just in it for the fun as I'll probably miss a few rounds in the future too.

Why don't you just put as many as you can in now? That way you won't miss any games and can always change them when you get chance. You could even put the entire season's in if you really wanted. Missing a few round doesn't really matter either. I get next to zero points in a few rounds last season and still came second overall.
1796  Other / Meta / Re: Disable delete option from merited post. on: August 14, 2018, 01:57:11 PM
Another option would be the removal of merit which will go back to the sender. But it's much harder to implement I guess. I agree that merit abuse went too far on this forum.

This would be better, but the merit should just be burned and not sent back.
1797  Other / Meta / Re: Community generated suggestions to improve the forum (+ eventual voting on them) on: August 14, 2018, 01:55:48 PM
Easily fixed.  I can start recording the content of merited posts as soon as they are mertted.  I can display that content if the post is deleted.
Thoughts?

Sure, if you can. I think it would help a lot.
1798  Other / Meta / Re: Community generated suggestions to improve the forum (+ eventual voting on them) on: August 14, 2018, 01:19:52 PM
• If a post is removed then so is any merit awarded (I think some users are deleting posts to hide evidence of abuse).

You can't hide evidence by deleting posts.

We still know who you sent it to and how many you sent - we just don't know the content of the post.

Example:  https://bpip.org/smerit.aspx?to=PavelRostov
It says "Deleted Post" for each post that has been removed.

You can. People can merit shit posts or a copy and pastes. What happens if someone gives a large merit to a deleted post? We can't see the content whether it was deserved or not. Most times it probably wont be. Huge loophole in my opinion.
1799  Other / Meta / Re: My posts are being deleted on: August 14, 2018, 01:12:57 PM
Such as? Please provide examples, though they are likely breaking the rules.
1800  Other / Meta / Re: Community generated suggestions to improve the forum (+ eventual voting on them) on: August 14, 2018, 12:57:00 PM
Payment for being a Merit Source, even if it’s something low like $100 per month.

Yeah, this isn't going to work. People will just want to become a merit source for all the wrong reasons then. I have no issue in giving merit out to those who contribute to the community and am happy to do it, but I don't think sources should be paid.
