181  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: December 27, 2022, 05:20:35 PM
It's worth noting that this user won the daily jackpot a few days ago. Obviously, he didn't buy such a huge number of lottery tickets, and he probably got them by playing the hi/lo game. In any case, I agree with you that winning the lottery can be a nice bonus, although the prize for 10th place seems insignificant for a whale who wagered about 20 BTC to get almost 4 million lottery tickets.

The most probably it was one of serious candidates for the Lambo Prize, as amounts wagered gave him many GT. Number of lottery tickets he was able to collect in one week is really astonishing.
The good point is that if people play with so big amounts (really serious thousands of $) platform is quite safe and trusted.
182  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: how does VanitySearch actually work on: December 27, 2022, 02:14:03 PM
It generates random starting point and then checks private keys with some algorithm (one by one + some tricks, so at the end private keys tested are not purely sequential in the sense of 1,2,3..). With the same starting point and the same prefix requested, you will always receive the same result, that's why using random starting point is critical.
You may check my fork where (https://github.com/PawelGorny/VanitySearch) where I added possibility to force starting point (--startPriv). The result will be always the same for pair starting key + prefix. There is no "randomization of path" in the middle of process.
183  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: how does VanitySearch actually work on: December 27, 2022, 01:33:51 PM
In generates the random starting point as launches search from that point (not exactly sequentially, but it is an implementation detail).
So, it checks private keys one by one. For each private key a corresponding public key is generated (in compressed or uncompressed form), then public key it is hashed and what is tested is if hash encoded with base58 generates the expected text.
Of course the more characters are requested, the more tries must be performed to fit the template. Basically we may say that each character makes it 58 times more difficult, but there are some details which makes calculations more complicated (the way how base58 encoding works etc).
I do not know why you think search for ending of address could be more or less difficult. Statistically it would be the same, technically a bit more demanding because the end of address is a checksum part, so it requires some extra pre-calculations.

I bet on newcastle, liverpool and arsenal but the status is still pending, a bit late usually I get my winnings not long it only takes 1 or 2 hours after yesterday's world cup time match, how long does it take to process that does anyone know

I write on each bet "Winners will be declared and paid out within 48 hours of the event ending.".

The world cup was in a different timezone so you didn't need to wait for me to wake up in the morning and check last night's results before doing the payouts.

Oh man, how do you manage to work during holidays etc. You must be everyday checking the state of page, results, do the transfers etc. Really demanding tasks, as all must go fluently if we want the site to be trusted.
I only hope you take enough rest and have proper life/work balance! Cheers!
185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you own 1 Bitcoin? (2022 edition) on: December 27, 2022, 09:49:05 AM
With the price in 2022 VS the price back then I think a lot more people are going to be a lot more hesitant to answer.

Too much risk of bad actors and everything else. Telling people on a public forum you have $800 is a lot less of a risk then telling them you have $30500  $30000 $29250 $29000
Fine, if this keeps up people will tell you  Wink

Hey Dave,

It would be funny and sad at the same time to see your post updated with the prices going down and stopping at 16700 (for now).
It reminds the way we went last year...
186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hackers leak personal info allegedly stolen from 5.7M Gemini users on: December 26, 2022, 11:16:53 AM
Was discussed here a couple of weeks ago: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5428632

I am sorry I missed that.

I decided to post it as all that news creates so much bad PR for crypto. Almost every week you read something disappointing. Stolen data, stolen money, stolen trust.
187  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Global Drug Conspiracy Used Binance To Launder Millions In Crypto on: December 26, 2022, 11:14:13 AM
I am afraid that in the post-LUNA, post-FTX days, every news like that confirms crypto is 'dirty' and people will stay away from that. Of course this is only one side, on the other side we have tons of youtubers who were convincing people to invest in some sh*tcoins which would bring 'enormous profits'.
All that now collapsed and we look at ruins and smoke. I hope soon sun shine again, but today everything confirms coming into crypto world is too dangerous for a typical John Smith.
188  Economy / Exchanges / Global Drug Conspiracy Used Binance To Launder Millions In Crypto on: December 26, 2022, 10:49:28 AM
News like that does not help crypto-world to gain trust... And unfortunately helps a lot people who say crypto is for criminals and weapon/drug dealers.
And unfortunately the name of exchange sounds very familiar.

A methamphetamine and cocaine gang operating across the U.S., Mexico, Europe and Australia used the world’s biggest cryptocurrency exchange Binance to launder tens of millions in drug proceeds, according to an ongoing investigation by the US Drug Enforcement Administration. Between $15 and $40 million in illicit proceeds may have been funneled through Binance, the DEA alleged.

189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Hackers leak personal info allegedly stolen from 5.7M Gemini users on: December 26, 2022, 10:44:41 AM
Another sad story related to exchanges... Anyone used Gemini? We all love KYC so much...

Gemini crypto exchange announced this week that customers were targeted in phishing campaigns after a threat actor collected their personal information from a third-party vendor. The Gemini product security team published a short notice that an unnamed third-party vendor suffered an "incident" that allowed an unauthorized actor to collect email addresses and incomplete phone numbers belonging to some Gemini customers.

KYC is dangerous from many reasons, one of them is that you give your data to people who do not know how to keep them safe...

190  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where to play poker with crypto ? on: December 26, 2022, 10:10:42 AM
It would be great if someone with more experience prepared a summary table with casinos and their offer, just to know if (for example):
- site is gambling site and poker games are just 'added' or site is dedicated to poker
- size of tables
- stake
- available tournaments (on demand, freerolls, regular daily/weekly) etc.
191  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: decentralized supercomputer on: December 26, 2022, 10:04:52 AM
Is it possible to build a decentralized supercomputer from networked bitcoin miners?

What you ask for is called 'cluster server', where several computers connected with a network connection work together.
https://community.fs.com/blog/what-is-a-server-cluster.html

In the way how you described it, it makes not much sense, as that architecture requires fast connection between servers, to minimize the fact they are separated instances. With a random computers around the world it would be very difficult.

I've been trying to bet on a few matches now with the few satoshis I have there, thanks for providing the additional information for me  Wink

You may bet even with 1 sat. just remember that sometimes rounding makes you win nothing (you just get your money back) if odds are low. One may easily observe that playing Multiply, when bet amount is like 1-2 sats and you set low odds. For example bet 1 sat and then any odd <2.0 makes you win nothing.
194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Btcrecover token file question on: December 22, 2022, 02:54:41 PM
Thank You
I will try to reduce password combination.

I have another question

what's faster? Btcrecover or hashcat? Or maybe something else ?

Hashcat has better support for GPU, btcrecover works with GPU for some cases only.
What is exactly your problem, password for which wallet? Botcin Core wallet.dat? Or other.

Anyway, if it could be launched under hashcat, I would not hesitate.
195  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where to play poker with crypto ? on: December 22, 2022, 10:57:15 AM
To response PawGo and OP, swcpoker are specialist in poker, if I ever play poker again then I will look for them before anyone else. I did not check recently but most probably blackjack.fun also have similar type of poker specialty but I could be very wrong about them. In any way, swcpoker should be the best destination to play poker with crypto.

I usually play poker at the SwC Poker room. Apart from being one of the oldest crypto poker rooms in the book, it is also one of the most trusted ones in the industry.

Thank you guys! I will definitively try that site next week. If any of you have account and want to share 'referral code', drop me the message.
They bought me with their '8 bit' WWW UI ;-)

There is no minimum bet on freebitco.in. I have already placed multiple bets of only 100 satoshis (most of the times 1000 satoshis) without any problems.
@iv4n, 600 WOF spins, that is already a nice amount! Let us know when you spin them all and what your results are.

With 600 you may expect to grab 1 or 2 GTs, it would be great. And for sure many lottery tickets ;-)

If there is no better idea what to do, there are still 2 days to bet on crypto prize and betting on FUN would give easily 10% profit (or even more).
