Do not assume just check github and stop spreading nonce
if you do not have a clue how to check github and read and understand c code just shut up please
Thanks
You may be revered around here, but that counts for nought in my book. So I think YOU should shut your gob and find someone else to take the edge off your issues with whoever that is you have an issue with (everyone really!).
182  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2900 TH] Kano CKPool (kano.is) from the cgminer devs [0.9% PPLNS] on: July 22, 2015, 07:09:18 PM
^^ Not sure your opinion counts for anything on this one .....
It is ck who posted (during that good luck streak that coincided to an extent with the network test) that he'd made some changes to the code with the insinuation those changes were responsible for smoothing, aka improving the pool's luck during that storm. Someone else raised the query as to whether those same changes (whose announcement roughly coincided with the start of the bad luck streak) could be playing a part in the current bad luck streak.

I am sure they have looked at the code numerous times since then, doesnt stop me from pondering the question (and wondering whether the same bad luck affliction has befallen the solo pool which I assume also carries those changes).

Not sure my "opinion" counts?  Well I'm not giving you an opinion, I'm stating facts.

You made the "smoothing" statement, not ck.  It's a couple pages back, I just found it.

Those pool changes were made July 10 right before the pool went on a 14 block <100% rampage.  How that coincides with the start of this "bad luck block" is beyond me, maybe you can explain?  Or not, because really I don't care about your speculation.

Luck is luck, nothing you can do changes it, stop pondering.

Actually, now I know your opinion does not count on this.
I may have made the statement about smoothing, but that wasn't the query (not directed at you) that you tried to give an answer to, which for brevity was: are those code changes actually affecting our luck? As you should obviously know, you can not answer that question.
If you simply want to take a pop at me like the troll that is Miketsang, you can always send me a PM (not that I read them ..) rather than clogging this otherwise clean thread with nonsense.
183  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2900 TH] Kano CKPool (kano.is) from the cgminer devs [0.9% PPLNS] on: July 22, 2015, 06:45:25 PM
This bad luck stretch is surely getting most tetchy ... squeeky bum if you like (well, over 5 days, who'd blame who?)..... on the positive side, the invalids' % is consistently getting lower, and that should qualify as an attributable result of rubber chicken sacrifice.

Are you sure nothing is wrong? It started not solving right after the last update or whatever changes you've made.
I have not seen it this long in 4 months if I remember correctly.  Cheesy

Not a blame, but with the hash I've been sending over the past few days, it's starting to hurt....  Cheesy

Interesting whether the drought has struck the solo pool as it has here as well ..... that'd insinuate the fix that thwarted the block-attack / network test is playing with our luck! Saying that, it may just as well be the other pools coining on to the "fixes" ck put in his code ..... either way, this is rotten luck to say the least.
186  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S5 + 3D printied mods on: July 21, 2015, 08:54:01 PM
Fit it just like the mod is, linearly aligned with the fan ducts aka on top of the heat-sinks.  The idea of the mod is to get most air through the heatsinks rather than escaping through the sides and top.
I am assuming here that it is a temporary fix as card-board can be a fire hazard IF the the dreaded S5 overheat bug hits you.

Ok - so I've fit it pretty well I have to say. On top, its going from the very front, under the cpu/mobo, then all the way to the end. The bottom is similarly covered to the mod, without the bulge obviously.

Temps are 64° / 60°, so unfortunately it doesn't seem to have helped.

I live in a very hot country and during the day there's no A/C so room temp will be pretty warm, not sure if I'm comfortable leaving it running if I'm getting these temps in an AC'd room  Sad

Maybe I could manage it remotely and underclock if it gets too hot?

Bear in mind that the mod REDUCES the airflow over the sensors, so temp readings are not that accurate (even without the mod).
What only you can tell for your ambient is how well the machine is running .... e.g are you getting more HW errors with the mod, are you getting higher diffs / faster diff setting by the pool? If you are getting less errors (assuming you've OC'ed), then that is a good sign the mod is doing well.
187  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S5 + 3D printied mods on: July 21, 2015, 07:36:12 PM
There, ma friend, lies the root to the rise in temps ..... try using simple card-board over the top and bottom (while you sort out the 3D printing) and you will see a drop in temps.
Should the cardboard on top sit just above the heatsink and not extend across to the sides? Or should I try to sit it on top of the PCB board, extending to the side panels?

Thanks

188  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S5 + 3D printied mods on: July 21, 2015, 06:41:17 PM

It's possibly worth noting I don't have top or bottom plates due to printing difficulties.

At the moment, there is no discount on the miner.  (This is per the GREED Team)

I rather go with these guys here is a little competition BITMAIN.

http://lketc.com/enindex.aspx

That looks VERY good ....I wonder how well the S:Next-one compares .... I make that 0.2J/GH if my numbers are right.

^^^Your line:
Code:
{"api-listen":true,"api-allow":"W:127.0.0.1","pools":

Should be:
Code:
{"api-listen":true,"api-allow":"W:127.0.0.1,R:192.168.0.194","pools":

to allow read access, or prepend a W instead of an R to the IP to set write access (i.e restarts, pool changes etc)

Any reason why the invalid share count went up by 10x?
Hmmm ... good spot. My guess is a rejected block (I'll check and see if it was one of my rigs ...)

EDIT: Nope ... best share on of all my rigs is 828,477,642 and biggest cum rejected share 279,149
It's one user who sends "hi" shares after setting a very large diff on his worker.
He's been playing with his worker diff settings for a while ...
Maybe he's trying to game the diff by changing it ... it wont work ... but I'll ban his account if he keeps doing it.
Well if it has a negative effect on the pool, why procrastinate ... just ban them (drought is nearly 3 days ....)!

Never mind sfards with the ridiculous pricing thus far .... seen this? Already taped-out ....!
No wonder July is nearly gone (having been promised an early July release) and we've heard NOTHING about the much vaunted S:Next-one from bitmain either!
S6 or S7 (whatever they decide to call it) might have been planned for release due to thinking sfards was going to try and compete and now since it isn't they're delaying?
That does not make sense to me ... unless bitmain have become generous and temporarily left market to sfards to clear their expensive stock, otherwise, why would they be lumbered with a non-productive stock of rigs simply because there is no competition? (....  being good to the network health aka network hash? thats far fetched !)
194  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Sfards: SF100-the first 28nm Dual-Mode Miner gets into mass production on: July 19, 2015, 05:30:35 PM
.....

After A1 phase, we did 28nm A2 ASIC PLUS the official A2 Terminator miner design together so that there won't be another Bitmine like miner fiasco which hurt ASIC sales, which was better.

The latest development is that we are moving on to the A3 ASIC and A4 ASIC design already. Both in 14nm and already taped out with over 60% power saving over the 28nm generation. Anyone interested in those are free to contact us. I guess we are the 1st to move to 14nm at this point and we are confident A3 and A4 are both gonna work great.

Are these Pi's still available and shipping? If so, what's the estimated dispatch time from BTC payment?

Bitmain... ಠ_ಠ

Come on guys... At least pretend to care at little bit better.

That rate has been that since the price re-increase ... and honestly, it is them that lose out if they value BTC more than it is (i.e if you are in the market for some, just convert $ to BTC and you are in the money!). Still, BTC value cooling SHOULD have meant a price drop ....
197  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Sfards: SF100-the first 28nm Dual-Mode Miner gets into mass production on: July 17, 2015, 09:56:07 AM
Thanks for the info. For an MOQ of 3 is not bad at all, but at that price (and to a big buyer) it is ridiculous. I'll keep an eye out on what you may garner from them, but I am starting to seriously think of giving up on waiting on these.
198  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Sfards: SF100-the first 28nm Dual-Mode Miner gets into mass production on: July 17, 2015, 09:34:22 AM
Price is already released. 1.290,- $ each. Max take for first trial for  bigger farm are max 10 pcs. minimum 3 pcs.
Shipping next week.
Official links?

I could not find anything to suggest they ever finished development on the L1, but maybe you have some info I am unaware of.

Just like you can not find anything about the S:Next-one, they are self mining with the L1 ......

So basically a free loan from pre-orders to get things rolling

Nice racket

Did you say racket? You ain't seen nothing yet!
What with all the disgruntled ex-employees tossing a fair amount of the brown-stuff about, its bound to get more interesting ..... just keep your eyes peeled!
Don't know if I would want to keep my eyes peeled in the middle of a sh!t show but I do think the second they cut doggie from the payroll we will have a lot more information. Something tells me Doggie knows a lot about his Bitmain partners.

I did NOT insinuate anyone is an ex-employee of bitmain, neither did I mean to imply that any such said probable ex-employee is capable of slinging brown-stuff all over the place to get even with (or twist the arm of) their supposed ex-employer. Read into that what you will .... suffice to say I have gotten off topic enough.

sfards, any timescale for we the downtrodden, small time home miner and pricing?
