181  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If everyone is holding their bitcoin, will there be a balance? on: March 12, 2024, 05:25:32 AM
The idea behind Bitcoin was never for people to just hoard their bitcoins, Satoshi wanted people to use it as an alternative currency and for those transactions to generate "Miners fees".

The "Miners fees" will become very important in the future, because the Block reward will be reduced to zero over time, with all the "Halvings" and increased "Miners fees" are supposed to replace it.
182  Economy / Economics / Re: Banking on people's ideas, visions, and talents. on: March 11, 2024, 07:20:45 AM
A lot of people are very creative, but they are lazy too. I have seen some brilliant ideas coming from the most lazy people at my work.

A guy will for example write a batch file to run scripts to automate all their work and then quickly do the work that takes hours for other people to do.

So, you have to be a creative person and also a hard worker to implement your ideas and then sucess will follow.
183  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - Drake, UFC, Everton, Stake F1 Team on: March 11, 2024, 07:11:14 AM
For me, offering free money to register as our referral is effective to get number of referrals only but it wont be effective to get referral commission or to get real gamblers as referral.
I myself tried to get referral on some casinos by offering bonuses for signup. It was effective and giving positive results a few years ago. I had gotten some real gamblers as referral on a different casino by using this method, unfortunately they have closed their business. But I haven't gotten the success with this method on Stake. I got only 1 referral who place bets with deposits at Stake occasionally. A few other users only placed some bets with the tips which I send them for creating an account through my affiliate link, then they never made any deposits.

Never offer signup bonusses for referrals, because they just signup with a throwaway account to claim the money and then they go inactive.

I tried this before with other websites and it cost me more in paid bonusses than what I gained through their referral commision.  Roll Eyes

It might work better with brand new casinos, but with casinos that has been around for years, it never works.
184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: We need more multiplayer casino games! on: March 11, 2024, 06:52:50 AM
Ok, let my paint the picture a bit better.  Wink

There are multiple games running at the same time, allowing only active players to bet.. once you stop betting.. you go into spectator mode and you cannot share in the winning pot.

The highrollers are risking more money, by staying in longer ...so they can either win some of their money back or lose everything if they bail out early.

Bots cannot be used, because only verified accounts can participate. If you "verify" a bot, you still lose money while you are betting... and bots hate spending money to earn money.

There are the opportunity for a new player entering the game and betting a small amount and then the "Boss" are defeated and the treasure distributed between the team that defeated the "Boss" (So you can win something big, with a small amount of betting)

It is like a shared Jackpot being won by a team... and not a single player.
185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have known Bitcoin and other currencies since 2014 on: March 11, 2024, 05:32:58 AM
I have been around, since before 2014 and I have pulled the trigger on buying bitcoin, before it went crazy. Unfortunately I got greedy when the price went above $18 000 per coin and I sold the majority of my cheap coins.

I have bought some more coin since then, but at a much higher price, so my profit on those coins will be much lower. The most valueble thing I have gain is not money, but rather a wealth of new knowledge.
186  Economy / Gambling discussion / We need more multiplayer casino games! on: March 10, 2024, 10:05:55 AM
I think it is time for third party Slot developers to give us more multiplayer games.

Imagine a game where players can play the same slot game and where they "fight" together to defeat the "house" - They all fight and a percentage of the money goes into a single pot and the rest goes to the casino. The goal might be to defeat a "Big Boss" or a "Dragon" or a huge Alien ship .. and the team that takes it down, share the spoils. (The more you play or the higher you bet, the higher your percentage of the total winnings) - High rollers can come in, bet huge amounts.. fail to take it down and leave, the pot is then shared by whoever is in at the time when the "Boss" is defeated.

If you drop out, you lose your chance to get a share of the winnings. You never know when it will go down, because high rollers can come in at any time with bigger bets to take it down quicker. There will be multiple games at the same time, so you can jump in and out of different games or just concentrate on one game.

Do you think it will work and will it be more fun to play multiplayer games like this?

187  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Gambling : Next Generation Challenges on: March 10, 2024, 09:23:02 AM
I do not know if anybody knows about Four-player chess (also known as four-handed chess) is a family of chess variants played with four people. ==> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Four-player_chess .... this game made a 1 on 1 game more sociable and more fun.

Online gambling can do the same with their games, where people can start to play Slots against the "house" in teams. Very similar to multiple players trying to defeat a single "Boss" (like you see in multiplayer dungeon type games)

A lot of online casino sites have their own "Chat" facility, which brings in the social aspect of gambling. (This is very moderated and also very toxic at times)  Tongue
188  Economy / Economics / Re: Is fossil fuels REALLY running out quickly, or do we still have time? on: March 10, 2024, 09:12:06 AM
I think it is crucial for governments to focus on developing infrastructure for technologies that are based on renewable energy... before fossil fuels run out. The global economy will collapse or it will become VERY expensive, if the supply of fossil fuel runs out.... and if there are no alternative to supplement or replace it.

I also think a hybrid system can utilize the best of both worlds... so you can drive on petrol and electricity to increase your driving distances and also to reduce the transport cost and still use fossil fuel and use "clean" energy. (Solar / Wind / Hydro ....etc)  Wink
189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Bank - Safely store your bitcoin on: March 10, 2024, 09:02:16 AM
My idea would be to create a bank to safely store people's bitcoin and other crypto for people who just want to hold for a lot of time.
They would register with the passport or ID, it would cost 100 GBP + 1% to deposit and verify people's identities.
Then, to withdraw, it would take 3 months, they would have to show the passport and have a meeting via zoom once a month during 3 months stating they would want to withdraw, it would cost 300 USD plus 1% of the value.
It would compensate for people who want to hold for a lot of time without having security concerns.

The people who cannot safeguard their coins are invested in Bitcoin ETF's .... and the other people can buy hardware wallets for $100+ to do the same thing or browse to the sites that offer you offline scripts to create your own Paper wallets and print them for free.

Your solution is too expensive and too complex ... and most people do not want to go through all that trouble to zoom once a month and to "dox" themselves to be able to safeguard their coins.
190  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Blackrock control BTC? on: March 10, 2024, 08:53:35 AM
Yea, having centralized financial institutions like BlackRock, locking 400 000 bitcoins into a centralized database is a big problem for many of us, but unfortunately we are the minority. The majority of the people do not see the danger or their judgement are clouded by greed, because they are "invested" in Bitcoin for the profits and not to promote Bitcoin as an alternative "currency" for the people.

In any way, if one person or group control the majority of the coins, people will start to move over to other Alt coins with more available coins and companies like BlackRock will have to start buying the more popular coins for their investors.  Roll Eyes
191  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Launched a cybersecurity bitcoin product. Looking for feedback on: March 08, 2024, 07:05:24 AM
I kinda see where you are going with this. Let's take the example of the thread that are somewhere on this forum, where you post the Bitcoin address linked to your account and where you sign that address with a message saying that you are the owner of that Bitcoin address and that Bitcointalk.org account.

So, people can hack your account, but they cannot sign that Bitcoin address that you used to prove that you were the original owner of that account. (You simply sign a message again and you have solid proof that you are the owner of that account)

It is just a added layer of protection for your account.  Wink
192  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the most you have ever won gambling? What is the most you have ever lost on: March 08, 2024, 06:37:19 AM
I won a huge jackpot (Max Win) on a slot, but when I calculated my total deposits, it did not recover my losses from all those deposits.

You might think that a huge jackpot is life changing, but first calculate how much you gambled in total and then subtract your win from that. You might find that you are way in the red, when you look at the bigger picture.
193  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - Drake, UFC, Everton, Stake F1 Team on: March 08, 2024, 06:10:48 AM
Actually this is not a "shit happens" situation, you should take the time and actually read his case here and at askgamblers. Stake is toying with this guy for months now. Always taking forever to reply.
If you would be in his shoes you would be angry as well, this is not a small amount we are talking about. This kind of treatment can happen to anybody, even to you.
Did you ever see what they are asking of him? It's amazing what they are coming up with in their replies.
The main issue here is that so many people tend to dismiss victims of big sites like Stake right away primarily because of their reputation due to which they generally feel that the fault is on the victims side.

Sad to see @KosherMania go through this annoying ordeal though I doubt his problem will ever get fully resolved.

We had a discussion about these complaints before and the conclusion is normally the same. The casino will be relaxed with the requirement of lower level verification, because it requires basic documents that are easy to verify.

When it comes to Level 3 and 4... it becomes more complex and the documents takes much longer to process.

Imagine someone owning a company that are using that company to launder money and you have to detect that, before they use your site to launder their dirty money. (It is just obvious that they will be more strict when we are talking about high amounts)

I am not saying this person are trying to use Stake to launder money, but I understand why Stake is more cautious when we are talking about huge transactions. (I hope he can find a good resolution to his problem, because I can understand his frustration...after reading all his posts)
194  Economy / Economics / Re: When luxury becomes a necessity. on: March 08, 2024, 05:47:10 AM
I do not care to pay for quality and if it is something that I can use to generate a income with.

Let's take your vehicle as an example... You need a reliable mode of transport to get to work.. not something that will fail to start every morning when you have to go to work, so for that reason I will pay more for a more reliable car.
195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Massive withdrawal of Bitcoin on: March 08, 2024, 05:24:57 AM
That is just how a market that are based on supply and demands work, the reason why other commodity prices are less volatile, is because it is being manipulated.

Let's rather have these periods of pumping and recovery and let the market control it's own cycle. You do not want huge whales artificially controling the price, like they do with Fiat currencies.
196  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Mr.Charles Cryptocards on: March 07, 2024, 06:26:48 AM
I have a question about the "Private keys" .... who has full control over the "Private" keys?

I remember a time when some people created collector coins (also called Casascius coins) and they also kept the private keys. When the owners tried to redeem the bitcoins from the "hidden" private keys... they were gone.

Can you explain a bit more on how you are handling this?
197  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Monte Carlo fallacy on: March 07, 2024, 06:10:43 AM
I know a little bit about the mechanics behind the math and how the gambling system work, so I figured out that all bets are unique and not linked to any previous bets.

You have a Client seed and Server seed and RNG and those things work together to determine the outcome of every individual bet you make.

Yes, there are also things like "Variance" and "RTP" ... but the individual outcome of each bet, is still unique and not linked to previous bets.  Wink
198  Economy / Economics / Re: Our decision making is responsible for the outcomes in our ways on: March 07, 2024, 06:02:51 AM
Let's not forget that every person on this planet are on their own journey.

You might have one person hoarding wealth like Mr Scrooge and not enjoying life and then you get the exact opposite, with someone spending every cent they have, but travelling the world and collecting happy memories and experiences.

I try to have a balance between the two, by saving enough to secure my future... when I cannot work and when I will need those savings and also spending some money now ..on things I can still do while I am healthy enough to do it.

Find a balance and enjoy your life.  Wink
199  Economy / Gambling / Re: Can gambling sites provide proof of auditing that was done on their RTP? on: March 07, 2024, 05:52:37 AM
Yes, there are actually two things that should be audited. A lot of these casinos use games from 3rd party providers ... but they also host a lot of their own in-house games.

The in-house games should receive the most scrutiny, because the RTP for these games are controlled by the casino and not pre-configured by some 3rd party provider.

I think most of the cooking of the RTP is done on the in-house games, because it is easy to change it.
200  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Profiting from BTC: just luck? on: March 07, 2024, 05:33:26 AM
A lot of people was not around in the early days of Bitcoin amd I spot some sour grapes in their attitude towards the people who were.

Just so that people can see the whole picture, we have to consider that it took huge balls to invest in something like this, back in the day. Bitcoin was basically "illegal" back then and governments saw it as a threat to their local Fiat currencies (some still do)

You bought your coins on street corners like junkies or on platforms that was not regulated.

I take my hat off to the people who did the research and who discovered Bitcoin in the early days and still supported it, even though it was seen as something "illegal".
