181  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Was Blockchain.org hacked or what happend to my funds? Go easy- newbie here on: September 20, 2017, 12:00:06 AM
I was using it for my wallet. yesterday I had a couple hundred bucks in it as I learn the ropes. I go in there today and its cleaned out? I dont know what happened? I cant see any transactions going out but there is not a penny in it. I guess the upside is i was about to load more (well for me anyway) much more money in there between bitcoin and Ether. Now Im scared. Is Blockchain the best place to store it and i was just hacked for a measly $275? I hope its ok to ask this on here?
Would you recommend a different wallet? Do you know anyway i can contact someone to take a look and see where i got screwed? i will obviously be setting up a new wallet before doing anything further.

thank you very much!

Blockchain.org ? that's not the official site of the blockchain which is blockchain.info
I think someone created this site (blockchain.org) making it similar to blockchain.info just to steal people's coins. the site is currently off, i think you were scammed man. You need to make your research before using such unsafe sites.

You can using blockchain.info wallet, it is safe, but its better to download an offline wallet (like electrum) which give you access to your private keys.
to be clear i did researched  while too. my $$ was in for days. today, poof its gone. a measly $275 but id be pissed if i had dumped alot in. is it possible my laptop has a virus or something allowing people to get on and into my account? my true biz acnt has alot more in it. id think they woulda transferred that one.
Can you give us your bitcoin address where you save bitcoin?
And to check if your bitcoin is still there .. better to check carefully your wallet and check the history of your transaction check this image
https://support.blockchain.com/hc/en-us/article_attachments/205107763/1111.png

And if you seen a output transaction it means there is someone are sending your bitcoin to other wallet..

Are you using 2 factor authentication? if not there is possibility that there are someone accessing your account..
And check your email because sometimes blockchain is sending notification if there is someone logging in into your account. .
182  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: I had to factory restore my phone. Jaxx wallet lost on: September 19, 2017, 11:37:03 PM
I thought I was being secure, but it turns out I wasn't. I was never instructed by the Jaxx wallet app for Android that I needed a 12 word secret phrase to reload my wallet if I ever had a calamitous event. I thought I waw having foresight by saving the address of my wallet, but I guess that was my public address, not my private one. Is there any way to recover this wallet? It's not my investment. It was my 13 year old son's investment. I sure hope there's a way, or his hard earned money is gone. Thank you in advance.

You are in wrong section and i think better to move this thread here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=37.0

If you are still knows about your 12 phrase word seeds you recover it in other wallet like in electrum or in blockchain but if you are not noted even the private keys i think its impossible to recover them ..

12 words seeds are important and private keys if you don't have any copy you will never recover them back..

For now if you can't recover them hope you can learn right now and always backup your wallet in the future purposes..
183  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Paying with Btcoin on: September 19, 2017, 11:29:11 PM
I think you can pay using bitcoin with alternative ways you can use some bitcoin debit card that i think you can use to pay the fee for your courses.
Check this thread this is an updated list of debit cards physical and virtual and i think you need is a physical debit cards so that you can deposit and withdraw your money easily.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1242788.0

And hope to share with us what electrical institute or school you wanted to apply courses?

If they have a online payment and accept debit cards physical debit card could be work. .
184  Economy / Exchanges / Re: List of bitcoin debit cards on: September 19, 2017, 10:59:28 PM
Hello i would like to ask for those who already experience about shakespay if this still active and legit or not.?
i have some friends in skype that actually recommending this site to use in some site so that i can get the advantage of some free account..
Hope that someone can give some reviews about shakespay they includes also blisspay but its not accepting bitcoin ..

And let me ask also if there are some people who already tested some debit cards that actually can be use in facebook ads manager or accepted by facebook ads,
185  Other / Meta / Re: How can i increase my activity here on forum on: September 19, 2017, 10:51:08 PM
If you post and you didn't seen your activity not increase better to wait its delay and if you are posting above 14 post and the activity stop to 14 activity better to wait for 14 days before you can have a new activity every 14 days.. 14 activity can be added but you must active here in forum..
There is interval of increasing your activity every 14 days the 14 activity will be added to your account but it will not added if you are not active with in 14 days..

For more info about activity rank better to check this it can help you to know about more badges and interval,

186  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Physical debit cards on: September 19, 2017, 10:46:16 PM

- Those cards are not offshore bank accounts, they are prepaid cards. People call it debit card but it's not, it's prepaid card. Debit cards belong to a bank account, while prepaid cards belong to an online account (where the site offers prepaid service). Those prepaid cards could be compared to gift cards (to make it simple)

- Yes there is a chance to get your money stolen if for example your account is compromised, your card number stolen with the cryptogram, etc.

So do they have the same level of protection as bank cards (on the legal basis)? Or money lost from those services won't be refunded. Jut want to find out  if the safety is clother to gift cards or bank cards.

Much better to check this thread and try to talk to someone already had and experience about physical bitcoin debit card list..
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1410577.0

I don't really know if the first page is updated list but Only xapo that i think more people are still using it..
And look also for bitpay this site was use for online accepting bitcoin as payment but they are also offering visa debit card that you use..
There is also shakepay but i don't know if this is safe because there are someone tell me that he is using this for temporary. .
187  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is Hashnest going to survive? What do you think? on: September 18, 2017, 11:57:59 PM
I think the best alternative for now is better to sell them and buy your own rig to mine altcoin  if you wanted to earn some profit.
And lifetime earnings than you are investing in cloud mining and mostly cloud mining are not safe to invest because they are paying in the first time but in the end are not.. or if you invest a lot its risky and i think you will never receive them back.. If you really wanted to mine with altcoin better to make your own rig..
188  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Predictions (Short and Long term) on: September 15, 2017, 11:59:46 PM
December 17  - $5k+
December 18  - $7k+
December 19  - $10k+
December 20  - $25k+
December 25  - $55k+
December 30  - $100k+

But this might not turn out to be correct because there are lots of factor that can easily effect the price of bitcoin like even a small piece of fud from unknown source in china causing massive dump right now. However if everything works as expected than above figure can be realistic speculation.

The Chinees ban on exchanges is already confirmed. I think if this kind of bad news continues for another couple of months then I don't think this year BTC price can be around 5K. It may need time to go back to the 5K range.

Bitcoin prices can go very high only when most of the main stream businesses start accepting and most of the developed countries start regulating to use of bitcoins. So I don't know how long all these developments take.
Well maybe in the near future hoping here in my country will accept bitcoin locally so that i can get more friends to encourage to use bitcoin i already had a group of people here in my place that interested in bitcoin some of them already invested in bitcoin because of china banning bitcoin i think there are afraid about their holdings but i am encourage them to hold tightly because we will heard some good news that the price can be increase more high again..

Honestly the speculation mobnepal it is hard to believe to be happen..  maybe around $6k-$7k from december 17 to 30
189  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Crypto Exchange Affiliate Program? on: September 15, 2017, 11:45:58 PM

So far i only know 2

1) Hitbtc, they offer up to 75% of commission generated by user

2) Cex.io, they offer 30% of all exchange fees

Do you know any other?

Would interested to know how many exchanges does offer great affiliate program
I think there is no high commission that you can get like this i saw other offer in other exchanges they are offering only 10%

- cryptopia.co.nz has a referral system but I don't remember very well about it. I think it is 10% per user trade fees converted to DOT
- livecoin.net 10% based on the user trade fees up to 50% https://www.livecoin.net/partnership
- coss.io Based on the 30-day trading volume in USD, 10% of your referrals volume also count as your volume.

Cryptopia are good referral or affiliate but they are only gives 10% that i think you found it here in forum
https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Forum/Thread/1276
And the other site you mention never heard those site honestly not good and they are just giving you small referral or affiliate bonus..
Cex.io and hitbtc that i think was good giving rewards for affiliate or referral links.
190  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer - mixing reinvented on: September 15, 2017, 11:38:22 PM
We have run out of chips again. New chips are being prepared. We need to find a better solution.

Our current ideas are:
a - kind-of traffic light that will show when chip level is too low - green ok, yellow under 50 BTC, red under 10 BTC
b - massive chip pool increase - that would require to open up for investing and that would require to set flat fee instead of donations

What do you think about both ideas?

Honestly, i would say that b would be the best option to go with at the moment.

As long as the fees stay competitive compared to other mixers then it should be completely fine. Having investors would be nice as well, and chipmixer could open up investing for everyone. Previously, bitmixer had a pretty high minimum which meant that only whales could invest.

If this minimum could be reduced then chipmixer can definitely attract a lot of investors, and thus solving the chip shortage issue.
Well i'll vote too in B for now sine i don't see any good in letter A ideas increasing chip pool would great option as of now.. If the fee is cheap as just like before i think there is no other mixer that offering the same as chipmixer service so it will be still chipmixer is the unique one ..
and or investing i think more people right now are looking for this so i think people will be choose chipmixer because its well know and trusted here in forum and investing is in demand these days so more people will choose chipmixer to invest plus they can mix their coin while investing .
191  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Asking about investing and other things on: September 15, 2017, 11:04:48 PM
There is a thread for ICO and altcoin announcement that you can found here mostly i just investing in altcoin not in ICO because only 2/10 are i think can gives me profit in ICO.. if the project was good and trending good whitepapers and roadmap expect that ICO will give you in profit..
For now i can't suggest any good ico but i suggest to better invest in altcoin which is already good rankings in the market If you really wanted to make a real profit and less risky because ICO are risky to invest..

ICO means Initial Coin Offering - much better to check full details in wiki here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Initial_coin_offering
192  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How soon will the market rebound to 150-200 Billion? on: September 15, 2017, 11:01:04 PM
Well if the news from the china about license exchanges if ever the exchanges in china got license sooner we will see bitcoin will rise up again because of the news. for now after hearing about the news i see the big jump of the price from $2900 level to $3700.. And hope that this price will continue to increase more soon..
But for now we are seeing slow movement of the price and hope that the market will reach i think even 100 billion marketcap..
193  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Jubi best exchange for Vertcoin in China? on: September 15, 2017, 03:57:32 PM
Is there a better exchange for Vertcoin VTC in China or is Jubi https://www.jubi.com the best one?
Never heard that site honestly but i just saw some other well know exchanges that you can trade VTC in poloniex and bittrex but its not in china
And i think only jubi in china are trading with vertcoin..
But if you wanted  to trade with VTC in other exchanges poloniex and bittrex only are the option..
194  Economy / Economics / Re: CHINA will halts all Bitcoins exchange.... on: September 15, 2017, 12:00:41 AM
This will be a big bad news for us and i think the price could be decrease more soon.. .
So hoping that this news will be fake and this coming october that reverse will be happen..
For now i think better to sell my few bitcoin and holding the rest.. Just to be sure that i still save few bitcoin..
And hope that the price can be increase back again and hoping that the news we heard from china are fake. .
195  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin under 3000$?? on: September 14, 2017, 11:36:22 PM
Tweet from BTCC (Chinese exchange owned by Charlie Lee's brother:

https://twitter.com/YourBTCC/status/908285586368167936

Quote
1/ After carefully considering the announcement published by Chinese regulators on 09/04, BTCChina Exchange will stop all trading on 09/30.

2/ BTCC products, including BTCC Pool, are not affected by this change. Please contact us at support@btcc.com if you have any questions.

I expect this is the reason the price crashed to $3600. We have an actual chinese exchange closing down.
That's exactly the main reason and there's nothing to do, they choose to close down their exchanges because they probably will be burdened by the new regulatory and it's the only way.
but, why china has a such big impact to the market of btc that affect every people mind to dump their btc, pretty curious.
I think more people in china are in trading with altcoins and bitcoins its more than the other country remember china has largest farm of bitcoin and i think it will be a big impact if there is exchanges are closing ICO but i think for other they are thinking that bitcoin was ban that even its not they are just heard some fake news. .even they don't know what government said. .
For now better to just following the flow of trends right now just to be sure that we are not losing investment ..
196  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How low will BTC go so I can buy more? How to gauge the bottom? on: September 14, 2017, 11:30:29 PM
Hello all,

I want to buy more but at a lower price. What is a technique or a way to guesstimate the bottom or near the bottom?

In forex and stocks they talk about "support levels", does such a thing exist in BTC where you can see where the orders are open in mass, to then know that this is where the traders are buying back in?

Thanks

Usually support / resistance levels are a fairly good indicator, but right now the CNY / BTC exchange rate is heavily dragging Bitcoin down. USD 3k,- should offer some resistance, but I guess it will largely depend on whether the CNY / BTC to USD / BTC gap gets closed (or at least diminished). CNY / BTC went down as far as USD 2.2k,- today. So while I don't expect USD / BTC to reach this level it should give you a feel of the market misbalance right now.

Ignore the order books though, those buy and sell walls usually mean squat.
For now its really hard to predict but since the trends is falling the price could be decrease more soon.. from 3300 plus right now is falling and i think the price can be decrease more sooner..
the price could be stay as 3k i think if it can stay in this level after few days we will see the slow price increase back again.. but it will be depends in the market trends.. the resistance should be $3k level and it will gradually increase back.. base on what happen from last year. .
197  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Exchanges for alt coins and where to trade new ones? on: September 14, 2017, 11:17:54 PM
Hello

There is no single one exchange that have all coins. If you are interested in one particular coin you can check what exchanges have listed it. You can check on https://coinmarketcap.com/ Find your coin and check the tabs whit all exchanges which have trades with it
I've use and satisfied with these
poloniex
liqui.io
bitfinex

good luck!
I don't think bitfinex is safe to trade i almost heard that site was scamming from last year and until now even in reddit they are not safe to trade.

If you really want to be safe trade much better to go trade in cex.io and poloniex also you can also trade in cryptopia i was trading there not all cryptocurrency are listed there but there are many coins that are legit to invest in . .

Coinmarketcap will good source also to know where you can get that altcoin
Just like this one https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/#markets you can see the list of exchange site where you can buy bitcoin. .
198  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: My whole transaction history has disappeared, i cannot access my coins on: September 14, 2017, 09:19:21 PM
Maybe your electrum is corrupted that is why its sometimes not asking for the seed/password or maybe your internet is slow do you have any stable internet? Also did you install carefully the latest version if you install the electrum without removing the old one or uninstall you can experience of some conflict base on what i experience before so much better to remove the old 1 an re install the new version of electrum..
199  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What y'all think of Margin trading? such as on Bitmex.com on: September 14, 2017, 09:05:17 PM
Never heard about that site i just checked this site in whois and its newly updated

Registration Date:2003-08-27
Expiration Date:2018-08-27
Updated Date:2017-07-23

Also as i can seen from their official announce here in forum https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=869237.20
Its not active so i think better to stay away because its not active for a long time here in forum..
200  Economy / Speculation / Re: Call the Bottom (next 2 weeks) on: September 14, 2017, 08:52:03 PM

I have no real guess or feeling
ok perhaps: that was it for now, will stay around 4450 for 3 days and then go up or down Smiley

Some investment bank, forgot the name, said 2500

Go with the flow and gear up some extra ammos if you are expecting for more price dip.

I have no forecast for the upcoming weeks but still bitcoin is used to be like this even in the past. Just enjoy what is happening while taking a ride on it. This will end soon and price will be on crazy pump once again.
Hope it could be pump back again but i think it will not rise back to $4k mark in up..
Better to watch and monitor the movement of the price as i can see there are still many traders and holders are selling huge amount of bitcoin in any exchange site.. For now better to wait for more few days to see bitcoin become stable before get ready to buy huge amount of bitcoin before split this coming november..
And hoping that the price won't go more down and hit $2,500
