181  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any fun in losing while gambling on: January 10, 2024, 05:49:54 PM
First of all, of what use is gambling when you are losing?
To me it doesn't make any sense to gamble knowing that you gonna lose, do you expect any fun when you lose money, to me it's better not to gamble at all than to gamble and lose, it doesn't make any sense, even though we know that gambling is for entertainment,  we still need the winnings to keep our motivation high at some point and for that we have to take a close look at our winning ratio, to know when we are making the loses to adjust yourself or to implement a new strategy.
It's really hard to believe that someone thinks gambling is fun when they lose. When a gambler bets his hard-earned money to win, how can it be fun if they lose again? Gambling is considered to be fun even if it is lost but those bets do not risk losing money. Again we know that bets that do not change money between winning and losing cannot be considered real gambling bets. People who think of gambling losses as fun must have a different perspective on gambling but that is not recognizable by the most gamblers. A person rich or poor who takes up gambling must take it seriously because it is concerned with the money.

It is really hard to believe especially since most people don't want to lose especially when it comes to money being involved. But still, for sure few people find it exciting when they've bet the wrong one as they feel the thrill of not always winning, I think it would apply to rich people like the elite ones that doesn't think of money despite losing that much, they are only focused to the fun of playing. An average person doesn't see gambling as fun but as an easy way to make profits and make your money grow. They are so rich that they just use it for fun, it is like a win-win situation for them if they win or lose, they have fun if they do not win but if they win then consider it as a bonus.
182  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Long-term profitable strategies on: January 10, 2024, 05:11:23 PM
I think it would be hard to have profitable strategies, especially for long-term gambling when it definitely relies on luck, maybe it would only apply to gambling games such as poker where even having a bad card you can still have a chance to win with having a strategic play. Having a plan and strategies sure can help you to increase your chances of profiting depending on the mechanics of the game, but it would never be 100% gonna work unless you are that smart like some famous person who invents a formula for them to have a higher chance of winning using statistics and probability like Pascal. I even see some people here in the forum saying that gambling every day or increasing their tickets as their method of increasing their chances of winning, but the downside is also heavy, would have to consider the pros and cons of things.
183  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Answer this Gambling Question on Duration of Joy after a win or loss on: January 10, 2024, 03:36:38 PM
No one enjoys losing in gambling.Losing brings our hopes down, it ushers in emotional pain and grumpiness whereas, winning elevates our mood, bringing happiness and excitement. There are games where I have won and after withdrawing my winnings, I am so happy that I give gifted some of it to people around me. This doesn't last for long once the it is out of my hand and minds. I am curious, how long does this joy last after a win or a loss—does it linger until your next bet, lasting the whole day, just 20 minutes, or perhaps 2 hours?

It really depends on the person's mood, some people don't even feel satisfied winning some amount, why? people are not contented as they would strive to get more. The feeling would last depending on the person's goal, if they just want to win some games and feel the excitement of winning once they take profit, it could even last long until they reach home or they save it. Some would use it to buy their wants which could even last long as they can see the fruit of winning by just simply affording things, but if the case is when you are in debt and have loans, your mind only focus into paying it, for sure you wouldn't even feel the joy for a long time.
184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does it looks responsible as woman telling husband you gamble? on: January 10, 2024, 02:03:18 PM
It would always be a better choice to be honest with your partner where after confessing your habit, both of you can think of a solution or end up on a decision whether he will support you or would ask you to stop. Since you know to yourself that you are gambling responsibly then the only problem for not telling him is that you are not sure about his reaction cause we all know that gambling is really bad if handled poorly. It could be a worst-case scenario if he found it out on his plus in a long time already. If you are already in a family or have a partner, this kind of habit and lifestyle would be normal if you are young but don't forget the responsibility of being in a committed relationship, there would be always a sacrifice like your habit that we consider not good that would affect that relationship.
185  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who does gambling addiction affect the most? on: January 09, 2024, 08:27:37 PM
It would start with the gambler first which eventually would have a domino effect and start to ruin his relationship with the gambler's family. The time that the gambler loses their cool and self-control probably they become prone to addiction as they keep gambling, it affects their mental, emotional, and as well their physical health. Then the minor changes would eventually be noticed at home by the family and this kind of situation would really depend on the gambler and the family on how they handle problems at home. If they can communicate to fix the problem that's good especially if the gambler is open and willing to change, but most of the gambler addicts are not aware and consider it normal, which can worsen the situation then later on the damage will be carried by the family.
186  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think gambling every day is better? on: January 09, 2024, 07:48:22 PM
It is like having the mindset of "if you stop now, you will miss the chance" vibe which could only lead to addiction. Just imagine all your funds going straight into gambling every day, it would be okay if it's also pay day every day where you would have a lot of spare money to stake at gambling that you could afford to risk. Of course the more you play, the higher the chances of probability of winning, but on the other hand it also increase the number of rounds of playing which is draining up your money. If your goal is to profit from gambling that method would just favor the house, much better to limit your money in gambling to avoid excessive loss, and when you win, you win. Some would say you couldn't win a huge amount with limitations but profit is still a profit.

189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will any other coins like Bitcoin be discovery in the future? on: January 09, 2024, 01:24:47 PM
For how long Bitcoin has been on the top of the market, people always tend to say that the coins they are creating are much better than Bitcoin, but no matter how long they've planned the project to invent a new coin that could face with Bitcoin, it hasn't reach Bitcoin's level decentralization, plus the fact that Bitcoin's already ahead of its supply and demand, due to its scarcity it reaches that amount in the market. We still don't know what the outcome in the future, but maybe in the next few years or decades there will be a coin that could reach almost the same as Bitcoin but it would need hype, a good roadmap, a team, etc.
190  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Effortlessly promoting Bitcoin, raising the curiosity of none bitcoin ethusiast on: January 08, 2024, 06:53:58 PM
As much as I want to promote Bitcoin on social media with my friends, I take care of myself because of the cases about $5 wrench attacks. It's okay to promote it to your actual friends but sometimes, you need to put boundary on whom you're going to tell it because you don't know some of the friends on your social media have been tracking your move and might go against you and will come by to take your Bitcoin. Take it for these examples:

That's why its important to consider the welfare of people which we want to teach since by having that they might prone to any risk its because bitcoin is hot money for criminals and they might be an easy target for them especially if they are not properly guided well after they learn about bitcoin or crypto. At my place its really complicated since I think I am the only one know about it since I never heard bitcoin discussed here so I choose to be silent since I don't want to create any noise that I have bitcoin. Also not planning to introduce this to them since I don't know what will be their take about it and also don't want to create some negative impression from them knowing unknowledgeable people always be so skeptical on new information's they have heard.

That is one thing that should be considered as to why Bitcoin is decentralized: to give its user anonymity and ensure their safety and security. Not only for the newbie people but also the safety of the person teaching would be in danger, especially if he or she is trying to teach a stranger. I don't really suggest that people promote Bitcoin to people who are close to you like friends, co-workers, family, etc. I mean it wouldn't always be a good idea to be involved in this kind of promoting Bitcoin which is volatile and has risks where people could still possibly lose huge amounts and break relationships. Maybe online will do, since you can change your identity and settings so that people can't figure out your privacy, but still need to be cautious as people can do complicated things just to get your hands on your funds like hacking or scamming.
191  Economy / Economics / Re: How to gain money on: January 07, 2024, 04:22:11 PM
There are many ways for us to make money; after all, there are only two ways, and these are the good and bad ways. Of course, the illegal ones belong to the bad, and the charity stocks and trading belong to the good ones. And the begging—I can't tell if it's good or bad.

Because what used to be bothering me is that you are imposing laziness on us or yourself. This should not be the case; instead, let's find a way to make money in these times.
Making money through the illegal way can lead one into problems,  anyway of making money that will leaf one to problems should not be considered a way of making money. Their many ways money can be made legally without getting into any problem, this is the kind of money one should think of getting than the one that lead you into problem that you will still spend it all. Money gotten from illegal way are not money buy problems.

Mostly the illegal way of earning money can be considered as the easy one that you wouldn't need to hassle yourself in work like dealing drugs or stealing. The only thing that they are concerned about is the law itself where they can be put behind bars for many years. I agree that there are a lot of legal ways of earning money, I think one of the factors that affects people's money source choices is their environment and how they grew up. Some are not privileged enough to go to school and are already exposed to the reality of the world where they have to earn money just to survive, if you are one of those people you would accept any kind of way to earn money, the legal one or illegal. Still, it is against the law so this kind of scenario shouldn't be justified by just simply choosing the wrong doing.
192  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Use your winning responsibly on: January 07, 2024, 03:02:19 PM
I don't know about you OP and it's a matter of subjectivity in opinion so please don't get offended, I don't think that buying a television set is a responsible way to spend your money because there's other ways that you could have optimized that money that you've won to further increase your savings via investment of that win into something which is most likely bitcoin for you, the reason why I don't think that it's a responsible way to spend the win is that technology depreciates in value but that's just my opinion, you can always do what you've got to do and it seems that you're much happier than you usual with this purchase so I guess you're spending that money wisely and congratulations to that big win, that's one hell of an odds to get that much money.

I don't know why buying a television set is not a responsible way of spending your money when it could last longer than a year. Just consider it as entertainment where you can watch with your family a movie or even have access to the news since it is a smart TV. Just consider it as an investment as well for a long time for your entertainment from that it could also reduce the number of gambling activities you can do. Well, we all have different plans when owning huge money, even if you invested for the long term you would have plans for the money you would accumulate or the profits.
193  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mental rehabilitation clinic. on: January 07, 2024, 10:47:56 AM
I believe that these arguments and ways to communicate should be discussed by a professional in this sector.
Personally I have no idea if some topics could istigate more or have a detrimental effect on a gambler.

In any case, what I've seen have right for an approach with a gambler is:
make people reflect on the real statistics/probability of events.
ask an inveterate bettor to list his income and expenses and from there understand if this activity is worth it

This decision unfortunately is on the gambler himself. If he is determined to change, he can change for himself.

Some gamblers addicts are not aware and don't know how to start changing themselves cause it might be easy to say "Just stop gambling" For them there would always be an urge to gamble despite having already a conflict with their financial status as well as their mental and emotional health. For sure there's a procedure on how they handle people with addictions, once they are guided the decision is still up to them after the rehabilitation. Some after the rehabilitation would eventually come back to a gambling habit so taking a medication they would just consider it as a waste of money as well as their time. That is why some would take years before realizing and spending a lot of time in rehabilitation centers that gambling doesn't do any good for them.
194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you willing to bet $50 spin for a chance to win $42 million? on: January 06, 2024, 07:20:34 PM
It sounds tempting especially since you have a chance to be a millionaire, but the thing is $50 could be pricey and cheap for some gamblers, just imagine that $50 per spin with that amount there are people who can already do a lot with those, in my country, you can already pay up your bills with that amount or even buy groceries that could last for weeks. I think that people who mostly win in this kind of gambling do it for fun and win unexpectedly, this literally relies on luck since the probability of winning is low. It is indeed a life-changing winning amount, you can already live most of your life relaxing and enjoying, and also invest in many things. I would prefer to invest $50 daily in the DCA method and I can expect a huge return in the long term.
195  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Alter Ego In Gambling on: January 06, 2024, 06:26:14 PM
I think every person has their own alter ego in many different things, you can observe it by yourself but mostly some people are not aware of their alter ego as they consider it normal despite not being their usual self. Well, I don't see myself having an alter ego when it comes to gambling cause knowing the fact that is it risky and relies on luck, if you can't even control your emotions for sure it would just give you a worse outcome. Plus I think we all behave differently when it comes to gambling but doesn't mean that it is your alter ego, the roller coaster feeling you would feel in gambling can affect your decision-making making but after learning and having an experience for a long time you true personality would eventually come out.
196  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your gambling life could affect your relatives lifes. on: January 06, 2024, 04:41:17 PM
That's the thing that gamblers who lost a lot in gambling, they are already focused on recovering their loss and don't see any path that could change their situation it is already fixed, with no feeling nor conscience they just want to bring back their dignity and reputation using the same reason that cause them huge losses. People like your relatives might be caring for you or themselves cause your reputation might affect them as well, I mean there is nothing wrong with them for them to reach that far due to gambling addiction that can't be stopped, for if you are in their situation as well you would find ways to prevent that addiction, but would be better to get checked up for the professional, cause if the relatives afford to sue the house, for sure they can afford professional help.
197  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin fees and how we accept its volatility on: January 06, 2024, 02:58:07 PM
I think it is not the right time to have small transactions as well as trade with Bitcoin with its current average transaction fee. I was planning to sell some Bitcoin and cash out last December for the upcoming holidays and new year, but seems like everyone has the same idea that causes the fee to skyrocket, I have read that the ordinals hype caused this fee. I really expect that the fee will decrease by the next month maybe give if a few weeks it will reach $10 below. Just hold your holdings and be patient they will decrease soon.
198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many individual holders of Bitcoin are there? on: January 06, 2024, 11:48:06 AM
It would be impossible as many people could make multiple wallets for holding Bitcoins, imagine 5 people having 3 wallets it's already 15 counts. The fact that Bitcoin is decentralized makes every user anonymous to ensure their security and safety. There are statistics for estimating how much Bitcoin has already been mined, sold in the market, or bought. There are also existing wallets that might be forgotten or don't even have any amount that one reason could already conclude that counting all the exact numbers of holders of Bitcoin would be impossible, but estimation could do.
199  Other / Off-topic / Re: Just a reminder. Don't lose yourself in the process. on: January 05, 2024, 06:14:50 PM
It is always the mindset of "we do it for them" that justifies their actions of chasing money to provide their preset needs, the future, and their wants. The thing is people are too busy and focused on their work, business, etc. But sometimes you just need to enjoy life and spend your time with your loved ones, cause not all the time money is the solution, well this world runs with money but there's such a priceless thing to do when you are with your family and making memories, we all just have limited time offer in this world. Plus you cannot do all the things you can do with your family when you are already old, you might be rich but you lack experiences and bonding with your family. You can also balance life with work and bonding, they can help you to lessen your stress by distracting with your fam.
200  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The general public still doesn't understand Bitcoin is still growing on: January 05, 2024, 03:45:02 PM
FUD against bitcoin is something that we will never be able to get rid of, just like the author of the book wrote, he didn't do in-depth research on what he was writing, he only made a book with one episode, he should have made a book with episodes  Many people discuss Bitcoin, in the future we will definitely experience declines and increases in Bitcoin, this is a very normal thing to happen to Bitcoin because Bitcoin is very volatile.

Almost every person applies FUD to anything, and it is normal for that to exist cause Bitcoin is volatile and has pros and cons, you wouldn't always experience the good side for sure. And some FUDs are not always a negative thing for Bitcoin's adoption as they gain attention from the public, some wouldn't even waste their time thinking about it cause the bad thing has already sunk into their heads, but they are still people would be interested, and do their own research and would find out that Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency that you can invest conveniently with and profit.
