1821  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcointalk's English Premier League Football Pool £25 to join Prize Pot @ £725 on: August 11, 2018, 09:18:26 AM
I told you about 2-1 being a very popular score:

I am tempted to try 1 strategy for the whole season in a separate pool: just predict 1-1 draws for all the teams every single week,,, if I recall rightly, there was one season where there were 7 teams who scored 1-1 in one week. But I think 7 correct scores if you make 10 pools and try everything, you have 10 chances every week, and 38 weeks = 380 chances.

Well you're certainly free to try and who knows how well it will do, but I don't think 1-1 would be the score to go for nor do I think sticking with one result will do you very well in the grand scheme of things. I usually find 2-1 is a very popular score, but I wouldn't want to back it for the whole season and wouldn't be much fun for me doing that. However, if you want to pay in another 0.0005 and have one for the same score as an experiment feel free to join on another account.

I wonder how well you would do backing it for the entire season.

If anyone else wants to join then there's still time as you've only missed one game so far. Couple of people have expressed interest via PM but still need to pay to play.

I trashed the thread and whitelisted you, but it probably won't do much if anything because it's only meant for newer/lower-ranked users.
1826  Other / Meta / Re: Why do I have to beg to get my account back? on: August 10, 2018, 03:54:04 PM
I lost my account due to a hack, and its been 2 months since then

Some people have been waiting nearly a year.

Something should have been done about this a while ago as it's clear neither theymos nor cyrus have the time or desire to do them. It isn't acceptable that people have to wait this long often without any sort of response at all, but only they can do something about it. Hopefully the system below will be implemented sooner rather than later.

We don't actually accept the profile field address unless there's some sort of proof that it's remained unchanged, for that very reason.

I'm working on a new address-staking system which will automatically handle signatures, etc. Might have it ready by the end of the month if nothing else comes up to consume my time.

Where did he say this?

You can post just fine on a low level account, whats this obsession with having a high ranked account? I really don't understand it, you can pay a small amount of btc to get a copper membership which gives you the same benefits.

It's a Senior Member account. Hardly a throwaway account. People shouldn't just have to give up and abandon them.

I want to join in on the fun here. Will you provide us with a specific link for superbru with "our" pool or does it work in another way? I've never tried that so I am a bit confused.

Will send in payment and update this post with txID shortly.

1828  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: August 10, 2018, 01:27:53 PM
The opening game of the Premier league is Manchester United against Leicester City. The opening game usually have shown that the favourite will not win and I think we will see a direct first upset to Mourinho and co. Manchester United have struggled lately to show a good football and I think that they will just continue to show that pattern in the first game of the opening Premier league.

So are you suggesting that betting against Man United is good?  It could be a good idea depending on the odds...  I haven't checked anything yet but I would never bet anything less than a +1 at 2.50 odds especially if LCFC is away.

It wouldn't surprise me if they lost. If they do Mourihno might go though. I remember betting against them on their first game of the season at home to a small team a few years ago and it came in.

Welcome to Cloudbet's English Premier League Football Prediction Pool tournament.

How it works: The competition is very similar to SkyBet's SuperSix tournament but every week each person involved will predict what they think the exact scores will be of all the games that will be played that week and you get points depending on how close your predictions were. This year we will be using the www.superbru.com website to make the predictions.

The winners will be the top five users who have the highest points at the end of the season. The prizes will currently be awarded as follows:

1st: 0.1
2nd: 0.04
3rd: 0.02
4th: 0.015
5th: 0.01

The prizes will be adjusted slightly if more people join. 1st: 0.01
2nd: 0.005
3rd: 0.005
4th: 0.005
5th: 0.005

Please note you will only be able to win one of these consolation prizes.

Points are awarded as follows:

A good idea can be to reward with airdop merit the start of this thing, to reward users who reported.

No. This would then lead to abuse. People would just report loads of things for the merit and easily rank up their alts this way.

Lol. We've even got bots advertising their services here now:

1833  Other / Meta / Re: user: DekoliteNom is banworthy? on: August 09, 2018, 06:49:21 PM
im interested in what he was trying to steal....

Good he got tossed.  Many thanks Wink

Bitcoins or your bitcointalk account most likely (possibly even both).
1834  Other / Meta / Re: account hacked - I locked it, but now what? on: August 09, 2018, 06:47:42 PM
Pretty much the only way is with a signed message. I can unlock the account but not restore access of it to you if you don't already have access to it. Only theymos and cyrus can do that but good luck with that with or without a signed message.
1835  Other / Meta / Re: Account got banned (NeedIfFindIt) on: August 09, 2018, 06:43:49 PM
I can't understand the reasons as I wright my own posts. Please help me to understand the reason for ban.  Huh Huh Huh

Are you sure? Please try again, this time with a little honesty. Why don't you tell us why you were banned?
1836  Other / Meta / Re: Please check account Minerva, posting irrelevant comment in different thread on: August 09, 2018, 05:34:00 PM
Banned him. He's one of these bots: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4854032.0

He was already banned. I've just removed all the posts though.

That one? It isn't banned or locked but someone is posting from it. Maybe it was hacked? If you want that account or any other back then follow this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0
1839  Other / Meta / Re: New type of off-topic Off Topic bots on: August 09, 2018, 12:43:02 PM
Sadly, many bots are still slipping through the cracks and many of them even earn from campaigns, which is further reason why signatures from Juniors should be removed or at least make them require one merit to become a Junior which would help a lot in curbing abuse.
Then why theymos is still not implementing the 1 merit to achieve Jr. Member. If I am not mistaken, this has been talked about from the thread created by yahoo.

Dunno. Maybe he will maybe he wont. I created a thread about it in the Staff board but 99% of threads in there get ignored by the admins.
1840  Other / Meta / Re: Merrit? This got to be a joke. on: August 09, 2018, 09:42:07 AM
merit ruins life!

Fixed that for you.
