With all the huge progress in the bitconomy, from constant stream of new start-ups, I could no longer resist buying some new and cheap coins.
I hope my spike in the price does not do too much harm to the shorters.

Hi Steve,
I can be of help when it comes to social media.
Would you be interested in someone to just look after the community and social matters?

Dogecoin is listed twice and Bitcoin is not an alt

has this any relation to the game roller coster tycoon? it was my favorite game in childhood
Not really. More like a basic sim city with bitcoin as the in game currency

New start-ups are being made for bitcoin everyday, it is gaining huge awareness and overcoming most regulatory hurdles. Bitcoin is very undervalued.
That's my point. If people are considering current valuation "cheap" why aren't we decoupling from China's downward trend. They've been the market makers from the beginning up until now, and continue to be. But why? The fact that they remain in this position suggests, to me, that we have not seen the bottom of this bear market but I'd like to get some opinions on it. There are still too many Veronicas left in the market

There is no point in focusing on BTC/USD equivalence for the long term: 1) You don't know when BTC will reach its peak value 2) You don't know if the USD will be around at that point, and if it is, how much a sandwich would cost 3) If BTC reaches its peak value, no one will care about the USD conversion

I quite like the style of making bitcoin look like part of the periodic table for some reason

Well, we all know what this requires:
TITS PROOF OR GTFO...
Bits or GTFO

Visibility and awareness is no longer an issue for Bitcoin. The issue is converting from awareness to adoption.

It seems every time I find something that looks promising, I'm just a sucker waiting to give someone else a payout. I have been following advice a gentleman offered to "hodl" my bitcoin, from $984 all the way down to now $436. I've just been fooling myself, telling myself "Don't worry hon, it will go back up! It always has!" I've been spending my time reading the forums and hoping. My friends called me crazy when I told them it's a sure thing. The shame is just as bad as the lost money. So I quit. You guys win. Coins sold. ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) Better to sell now, than for a month, View Screen CaptureYour trading range is so large and starting at the peak of Bitcoin's value. Not an accurate indicator at all

All caused by external factors like Mt Gox and China etc. the fundamentals remain stronger than ever considering the growth of the 'bitconomy' this year.

Both camps are in the wrong. Bitcoin is good as part of a well diversified portfolio. Actually everyone should hold the same amount of Bitoin in their portfolio such that the portfolio maximises there return relative to their risk. Asking if Bitcoin is a safe investment is the wrong question. Instead we should ask how much Bitcoin to include in an efficient portfolio.
Bitcoin is approximately ∞% of my portfolio. Is that an efficient portfolio?

I think circle is better. This is a far fetched idea, but if somehow bits did become physical coins that could be spent, it would be much better to have them round to be compatible with vending machines etc.

This is just amazing to see: a community collective deciding on how to quantify a currency and how to brand it. Imagine explaining this to someone 20 years ago.
