1841  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are alternative no kyc exchanges since FTX is gone... on: November 13, 2022, 07:53:22 AM
Since FTX is gone. And Binance/Bitmex are all KYC. Any decent exchanges which are KYC free ?

I heard good stuff about Bybit. Says no kyc for <2BTC withdraws.

What does everyone use?
Kucoin still available which is lot better than other new exchanges and comparatively more trustable than others. However as I always mention whenever you choose to trade on centralized exchanges then be ready with your KYC cause they might ask at any moment even if they have no KYC trading feature.
1842  Other / Meta / Re: Not Your Keys Not your Coins Banner Needed Everywhere? on: November 12, 2022, 05:42:25 PM
It may save few people for sure but instead of banner can we have a child board for all the important things?

Don't get me wrong because people who are holding their cryptocurrencies in their exchange without aware of the difference between holding in a non custodial wallet and exchange then its simply due to their ignorance and such users definitely need guides for everything to get saved from scam. Smiley
1843  Other / Meta / Re: Could This Help To Reduce Spam? on: November 12, 2022, 04:12:05 PM
Maybe yes...

But since we all know theymos is not really interested in making any changes regarding the signatures unless he wants to completely wipe away from bitcointalk so I don't think this will be on his to do list.

However spam especially in few boards are getting out of hand so instead of choosing not to display the signature the managers may have post criteria that posts won't be counted towards weekly quota if its posted after the 10th page.?
1844  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is centralized, can we trust it anymore? on: November 12, 2022, 03:16:40 PM
We all know ethereum merge of PoW to PoS happened recently which reduced the transaction fee a lot but it become more centralized than before so what is going to be the future of ethereum?

Today I saw some blogs related to this so just curious about what bitcointalk community thinks about this merge, the major stake holders of ethereum becomes centralized exchanges which all consists of 64% and all the centralized exchanges are regulated and can be controlled by government so in future if governments make changes in their regulation policies which can affect the ethereum so what will be the future plan of ethereum holders? It can be trusted and still it is good for investment?

In today's market, with the exception of bitcoins and non-custodial wallets, as far as I can tell, all the rest we are using are centralized, from exchanges to altcoins...it's all centralized and we don't seem to care about privacy anymore, we care more about profit. If you need a privacy priority coin we have bitcoin and I think bitcoin alone is enough for us to use. As for ethereum or other altcoins that are just tools to make profits, you don't need to worry about whether they are centralized or decentralized. As long as they are profitable for us, we just need to invest and convert them all to bitcoin on the DEX, we are safe.

Don't get your point, if something is getting centralized then it is controllable so for an average joe the chances of making profits will become less cause manipulators know when to trigger the button which pours profits in their pockets.

Bitcoin is not really anonymous but its completely decentralized so there is a difference between anonymity and authority. If we actually wanted the privacy then monero might be the king but it isn't the case.
1845  Economy / Exchanges / Re: FTX Finally Files For Bankruptcy After Binance Refused Bailout on: November 11, 2022, 05:42:32 PM
Kind of surprised, probably CZ started to think like Elon?

Binance niw stands as the only big exchange but this can be a reason for the people to start realising and never ever trust the centralized exchanges and also bring the decentralisation into the reality in the trading as well.
1846  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Celsius, Terra, FTX Crash All Are Prove That Bitcoin Is The Only Trusted Crypto on: November 11, 2022, 03:31:30 PM
Yeah, valuable point cause the isn't important the actual coin or token may be replaced by the project team and people who failed to switch will be left with useless tokens. Altcoin market is profitable but when people start to influence by the Exchanges, influencers, media or anything and go towards something which is growing unrealistic but having a central authority or related can do such damages later.
1847  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie Reminder: Treat Exchanges as Marketplaces on: November 11, 2022, 01:30:17 PM
I really don't understand why would anyone use a CEX these days. Especially for "normal" spot trading. I understand that Ethereum fees are still too high to use Uniswap for a daily trading but there are bunch of L2 solutions that users can trade one with very little gas fee.

And then there is leverage trading. Before it wasn't that easy to do leverage trading on a decentralized exchanges but lately there is an increased popularity in DEXes where users can do leverage trading.

And additional benefit is that no one is forcing you to do KYC on a decentralized exchange while on some centralized exchanges KYC is mandatory.

Decentralized exchanges are not really user friendly and also lacks trading volume which is the reason why newbies and regular traders trust the centralized exchanges. Ofcourse KYC becomes mandatory in almost all the exchange but with the coming years it is not avoidable so people get used to that since they are making money from it.

Day traders can't really afford to move their funds to their wallet everyday but its possible to follow by other kind of traders.
1848  Economy / Economics / Re: Always ask bargain for prices never pay full specially now on: November 10, 2022, 04:32:27 PM

Now it's time to ask prices to go Lower.
Times like this i go shop or anywhere i always say' it's economic down turn can i get cheaper price.
I allready called to my landlord to make my rent much cheaper.
It's times of economic bad times so now you can ask cheaper prices of anything always.

I disagree with the word anything because you can't, yes some places you can negotiate and reduce the price but most of the basic needs like groceries, veggies, meat are fixed price everywhere even if its a roadside shop the price is fixed.
Yes , and these fixed prices has something to do eith utilities, rent of the building where market is placed, electricity they are using to make customers comfortable, while they are busy bargaining. Things has state of appropriateness do let us all be mindful.

If you guys are not that needy, just buy that thing in particular as it is. Let those who are in need to bargain for it.

I am not that rich enough to consider that I don't really see the price tag while I am buying something and I do even if I am having million dollar liquid cash in my bank account.

Let's imagine where we can bargain the local market for the sake while buying something like vegetables or fruits from a small scale farmer which is not really beneficial for us as well as the seller butnwe simply pay blindly for mac products whatever they set the price.
1849  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Three Big Lessons from CZ. on: November 10, 2022, 03:20:12 PM
Lesson for project owners from CZ
1. Never use a token you created as collateral
2. Don't borrow if you run a crypto business.
3. Don't use capital "efficiently". Have a large reserve

Binance has never used BNB for collateral, and we have never taken on debt. .

Binance provided their services almost for every country which is also one of the reason for his success, I don't want to make comments of BNB because it evolved as per the coin growth and CZ got the idea if how to reach the people by giving discounts in the trading fee even when there is no BNB involved in a trade is a big move.
1850  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Understanding Whales and How Price Is Affected. I need someone who understands on: November 10, 2022, 01:07:57 PM
Thanks for the input.

So but what I'm still not sure is.

Simply with the example I gave, I know for sure that if I sell the price will fall significantly.

So if I buy back the moment I sell, I buy it cheaper?

For example:

Coin value is $1 because I have a 1000 coins. Selling now would mean 1000x$1=$1000.
Coin value becomes $0.50 because I sold 1000 coins. Buying immediately after my sell would mean 1000x$0.50=$500. That would instantly make me $500 better off.

Is this true, or do I not actually buy at $0.50, even though it is listed as $0.50. But my act of buying forces the price to go to $1. So I'm still buying at $1? But that wouldn't make sense because
if someone else bought it for sure, they would be buying at $0.50. So this does mean dumping and buying immediately would give me positive result($500 profit in this example). It sounds too good to be true.

Yes it works in the way as you mentioned but only if there are two holders one is you and other is someone else and both are desperately running one after another but in real world there are millions of active traders and also even for the cheap shitcoins the volumes are in millions so you need to take risk with few millions to influence the price and other small traders may also can use the circumstances to make profit.
1851  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Reminders to all Crypto Lovers on: November 10, 2022, 07:59:14 AM
I would like to add one more important point which is basically most amateur p2p traders forget while using LBC or other p2p platforms.

Avoid accepting third party payments

This is mainly because mostly traders who stole bank accounts and buy Bitcoin from you and there will be no problem for months suddenly your bank account might be frozen or there will be a legal notice or something can cause you huge loss.
I might havent able to experience it but there is a friend of mine did really end up for his bank account been frozen and made out some investigations in related into this transactions which i do agree into this

suggesting on adding up it up about accepting third party payments. Also same goes with those p2p transactions which funds should really be verified first if they had credit out on your account before releasing the
assets. There's so much ways for scammers and fraudsters on fooling up people just to take advantage or stole up their money. This is why we should really bare up in mind on how we should really make these
precautionary measures for us to save our own asses on possible situations. Dont make yourself that too confident that you wont get scammed nor being attempted out on doing so.
Use common sense and awareness from time to time.

Personally I had such issues while doing a trade with someone on LBC even the scammer managed to provide the national ID that is why I decided to go on for the trade but after a while I noticed funds on stuck and received call from bank officials so I simply returned the money to whatever account I received and reported the scammer to support and in the end scammer stuck with a chunk of BTC and will be on hold forever.

1853  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Vs Cash which is more secure on: November 09, 2022, 05:37:44 PM
Let's put the credit card away because its actually the money we spent we actually don't own so its like interest free loan.

Comparing cash and bitcoin in security then definitely bitcoin is highly secured cause its irreversible, can't be duplicated, no Central authority to make changes also there is no hidden fees.

With cash you can spend almost anywhere but only in the country because its not going to be accepted as currency in another country and as security someone can easily steal your physical wallet and take all your money which is not possible with bitcoins.
1854  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Importance of not letting others know about your crypto holdings on: November 09, 2022, 01:44:12 PM
When it comes to money trust no one, that is one of the reason why we are all here cause it is available in decentralized bitcoin. This is not applicable to crypto holdings it can be applied to everyone who is rich but people who are rich enough may have safeguard with them all the time so others keep your financial success silent until it reaches a state you can't hide it anymore.
1855  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sports and entertainment industries could play a big role in Bitcoin adoption. on: November 08, 2022, 06:37:15 PM
I want to remind you something adult industry plays major role and its one of the highest gross earnings industry in the whole sector still they failed to implement the adoption of Bitcoin payment, I mean people didn't give much as they expected so adoption had to happen gradually to be a permanent evolution or it maybe replaced by others.

1857  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC wallet disadvantages on: November 08, 2022, 03:47:20 PM
I know for security and safety reasons thats why Bitcoin wallet have been set to have the seed phrase security.
Which is supposed to be ones wallet security pin,but you know as humans forgetting and carelessness is a must in our nature.
But the disadvantage is that this has led to many people loosing their Bitcoin in their wallet or should I say stuck with access to it.
Since their is no way you can stair up a forgotten password option in the wallet app

Seed phrase and pins are two different things, basically you can't memorize the seed phrase so you have to note it down in some format while creating the wallet and you hold the responsibility of keeping it safe cause you want to have your money so you only can access your money. While pin is just an encryption to the login which is basically a layer of security and you don't need the pin if you have recovery Seed since you can import the wallet into a new one.

And if you say your ignorance can be a reason to lose your money then you will stuck in the centralized bank trap and broke forever.
1858  Other / Meta / Re: Want to Know on: November 08, 2022, 02:48:27 PM
I used to wear one of them as well, basically its just for fun and there is no restriction that you need to be in a signature campaign to make post or wear avatar or wear signature. Basically most people from WO thread wear one and you also can get one if you want and the user profile mentioned above.
1859  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will happen to crypto exchanges in the future? on: November 06, 2022, 05:19:01 PM
Bitcoin is becoming more and more popular and applicable everyday and there are plenty of companies and businesses accepting it as a common type of payment. However, when digital money is globally accepted, would there still be a need for cryptocurrency exchanges? Any thoughts on this?

Bitcoin become more and more popular but still it isn't widely accepted as payment mode due to the restrictions of government and anyway in future let's assume governments made bitcoin as legal tender still cryptocurrency exchange has the business which is converting one crypto to other crypto and make money out of it but this may take few decades to happen so until that anything may change even in the cryptocurrency market.

   - The only thing I can say about Ethereum right now because of that merger is that the transaction fee in ERC20 is going down somehow, unlike when that merger didn't happen yet. So at least I can say that it has helped ETH holders who often conduct transactions in ETH.

Now, regarding whether it is centralized, I think that if there is nothing wrong with it, our assets will be even safer when centralized because it will be more difficult for hackers to find a way to enter the platforms which is centralized. Rather than decentralized that is closer to the risk of being hacked by exploitative hackers.

Merge reduced the fee problem which exists for years in ethereum blockchain but what about the future and how suddenly we start to trust the centralized ones?

Because the reason for the evolution of cryptocurrencies mainly due to the decentralisation and it can't be controlled by government at any cost if its proof of work but with proof of stake and the stake holders are very few in major I am really concerned about the future.
