Did DCM merge with XBC? What's the deal?

Anyone know where Kreative AKA Jeremy Williamson is?

What about Wallenstein..... Where is he at?

DCM was supposed to use some XBC things planned, I think primarily wallet stuff. Not sure if XBC was going to use anything from DCM, I guess merchant things? So not a merge, simply sharing work done, I think.

Kreative was never over here, as he was never part of XBC. Wallenstein... no idea where he is... expect he will be scarce on both coins now.
1862  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]BitcoinPlus (XBC) / MANDATORY WALLET UPDATE / BIT-ADOPTION! on: June 28, 2014, 08:42:05 PM

It's looks almost like the dev's made a deal thogether. Don't hear from nobady for day's, weeks, months. Why is the question? Do they want the price to be low?

Help we out with this wondering.

I think at least two of the devs went on vacation or something. One is in China up until the beginning of July.

As for why anyone would want the price low, the only reason is to buy in cheap to sell higher later. That said, I don't really think any devs want the price to be low. Someone is picking up cheap-ish XBC however in the mid 20s at a decent rate, I have noticed, with multi btc offers there now. So if playing the conspiracy game, someone dumps to themselves, price sinks, put in low buy orders, scoop up coins... coin hits MP (or pumps on hype pre-MP), price goes up, sell for profit.
1863  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]BitcoinPlus (XBC) / MANDATORY WALLET UPDATE / BIT-ADOPTION! on: June 28, 2014, 07:40:04 PM
I think it's because we are three Mondays away from MP and that's a long time in cryptotime.

Let's see what happens after ZS and Jackpot have finished fighting this one out.

I don't think the connection with DCM is helping however since it's now almost worth nothing.

That could be it. I don't view 2 weeks as an especially long time, but others might, I guess. The DCM connection certainly doesn't help, but it's not like XBC was tied to it that strongly. We'll probably know more a week or so from now, after ZS/Jackpot get listed, as you say. And assuming the devs make an appearance and do some stuff.

I guess I just found it weird that the coin was holding its own while ranked #5, and on the verge of slipping  to #6 due to BCT sneaking up. And instead when it hit#3 the next day, the price went down. It looked like opposite world.
1864  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]BitcoinPlus (XBC) / MANDATORY WALLET UPDATE / BIT-ADOPTION! on: June 28, 2014, 06:47:09 PM

It's because the devs havent done much for XBC at all. This coin is dead.

I understand that mindset. Although since they still have several devs, including the one who made their wallet, I wouldn't automatically say it's dead. So long as a coder is aboard, they can always add stuff.

Again,what I don't get is the timing.

Coin pumps due to approaching MP listing, people dump -- understandable.
Coin pumps after it gets on MP, people dump -- understandable and very common.
People sell before any pump/price rise at all due to impending MP listing -- is what I don't understand. It's basically the reverse of what typically occurs.
1865  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]BitcoinPlus (XBC) / MANDATORY WALLET UPDATE / BIT-ADOPTION! on: June 28, 2014, 05:49:16 PM
Sort of interesting watching the price. I think this may be the only example of a coin shooting up in MP rank close to the top and then going down in price -- and before the typical MP price rise/pump even occurs based on rank. I fully understand when coins do the pump/sell off to a certain degree before hitting MP, but usually people don't sell off before the price rise.  I mean, if Aiden can go up 2.5x (based on fraudulent votes) and ITC like triple in price, and before hitting MP just based on rank, I'd think any coin could, so it doesn't make much sense to me.

Guessing it's due to devs being on vacation/somewhat absent, or just price manipulation? Honestly don't quite get it as it's the opposite of what logically occurs.
1866  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BITTREX.COM] LitecoinPlus (XLC) / fast / green / bounties on: June 27, 2014, 07:30:30 PM
Weird that the smaller exchanges didn't simply accept the coin outright, but it may be a situation where not being new is a disadvantage. Sometimes new coins get that initial volume boost that older coins don't.

If the coin does get delisted from bittrex, I suggest rethinking the rebranding idea. Possibly other exchanges would take it then if was viewed as a new coin. As for c-ex, not entirely sure what to think of it. Some folks like it, some say they have been scammed there, so not sure.
1867  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]BitcoinPlus (XBC) / MANDATORY WALLET UPDATE / BIT-ADOPTION! on: June 27, 2014, 04:50:45 PM
Yep we might just have keep plodding a long like we are and we'll get there.

This is the second time XSI got sent down (the first time was apparently for multi-accounting)

As soon as I saw this I bought up more XBC !

Yeah, bought a little extra myself too. It's pretty cheap right now. Figured most hadn't seen the news yet.
1868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]BitcoinPlus (XBC) / MANDATORY WALLET UPDATE / BIT-ADOPTION! on: June 27, 2014, 04:24:52 PM
Just checking on how MP voting was going... people may not be aware, but XBC just shot up to the #3 spot.

Appears like Aiden + Stability evidently were using bots (explains how they shot up so quickly)... so they got knocked down. It does pay to do things the right away.

Assuming rates of voting stay the same, that means XBC would get listed on MP in no more than 2.5 weeks. It could sneak past Zim with a bit of a push even and get there even faster. Not bad at all. So those out there voting, keep it up -- almost there.

And as I have stated already, devs need to start releasing whitepapers/new stuff soonish, as you need to add some value behind the coin to avoid dumping once listed.

Edit: And I see Hyper + BCTtalk coin got shot down in rank too, so even the coins sneaking up got pushed back a lot. Even better news.
1869  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]BitcoinPlus (XBC) / MANDATORY WALLET UPDATE / BIT-ADOPTION! on: June 27, 2014, 03:26:25 PM
Maybe a strange question... but can XBC help create a community takeover in DCM?

I think one issue there is that two of the XBC devs were sort of assistant devs on DCM, and I expect there are a lot of hard feelings still remaining. DCM people may not exactly welcome a takeover by XBC devs, seeing it'd not exactly be a takeover... just two previous DCM devs taking the place of the lead DCM dev.

I'm not even sure what exactly occurred, besides the forum lock/website vanishing. It'd almost be better if someone besides XBC took over the coin. Also not sure how the DCM community would decide anything with two locked threads.

I don't think most XBC people were overly thrilled with XBC devs splitting time on another coin anyway. Especially since the time they should be most active during MP voting is when they all seemingly decide to take a vacation.
1870  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BITTREX.COM] LitecoinPlus (XLC) / fast / green / bounties on: June 27, 2014, 03:17:33 PM
Have any of the smaller exchanges accepted the coin yet? Austin Global, Atomic-trade, allcoin/allcrypt, King Coiny... any of those guys? You need a backup plan in case Bittrex doesn't extend.
1871  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 100 BTC: What to buy on: June 26, 2014, 11:05:29 PM
Buy 100 BTC.

Probably the safest move. People are going to just answer with whatever coin they happen to be holding, so threads like this tend to be silly. I'm assuming the OP is just trolling/having fun anyway.

But playing this game honestly, if given 100 btc out of the blue.... hmm...

If Drk decreases in price a bit, I'd pick up a spare node or two. Even if the price stays where it is, it'd be income off the nodes for a while.

I'd save some for Ethereum. Maybe 10-20 btc.

The rest I'd leave in BTC, or perhaps cash out a bit and invest it in stocks/mutual funds.
1872  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MIN] Minerals - POS. Fair Distribution Cryptocurrency on: June 26, 2014, 04:44:22 PM
Someone who follows pumps more than I do may know the answer, but isn't it sort of typical for a new coin to sort of retreat a bit, even if it's somewhat popular? I'm not talking about people taking profits (which happens too, of course). I just mean whales eating up cheap coin for a later pump. If so, this pattern really shouldn't be a concern. It's not like there was bad news, or the coin was incredibly overpriced to begin with, to drop the price a bit.
1873  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]BitcoinPlus (XBC) / MANDATORY WALLET UPDATE / BIT-ADOPTION! on: June 26, 2014, 04:26:32 PM

I'd throw down 100 XBC to get 1000 votes on MP.  I've been voting my a$$ off.  Like 16 votes a day, and once when I take a leak in the middle of the night, since it was listed on MP.  Part of the issue is that we have so little coin holders, so we get so little votes.  Imagine a coin with 1 Billion coins, there is an opportunity to have a sh!t load of coin holders to move the coin up the chain. The community is awesome still, and the reason I'm still buying more XBC (1500+).

So how do i throw down 100 XBC to get 1000 votes?

Nice... knew there had to be some XBC whales still swimming out there.

What I'd first suggest is looking at giveaway forums.

Here is one example: http://altcoingiveaways.com/index.php?board=4.0

You can also contact cryptosandwich about doing a giveaway -- http://www.cryptosandwich.com/

Then you can either go the every 100 vote route and set it up like a contest, or just go with something like .1 XBC per confirmed vote. Going for 1000 votes would be time consuming on your part that way, however. It's also possible for you to do a bit of both if you want. Like have one giveaway for several hundred votes at .1 XBC per vote. And offer another one as a contest. Mention the cap in the forum just so folks know when the XBC will run out.

It's a great way to both get votes + extra promotion for the coin. If a couple of other whales join in, votes should shoot up nicely. Basically at this point we should look at keeping the coin in the #4-#5 area, as other coins are sneaking up... but XBC will move up automatically one spot each week as other coins get added. So it can still move up over time just by maintaining a decent pace.

1874  Economy / Services / Re: [Coins Source] ** Signature Promotion ** Promote Something Positive on: June 26, 2014, 04:35:42 AM
I admit I'm a little confused by this. Are we simply renting out our signature space for a monthly payout?
And btc paid for posts made each month, I assume?

Anyway, you can sign me up... plenty of ad space available.

BTT name:poornamelessme

Current post count: 1173

I tend to post a decent amount. Although not sure what I post per month... guess I'll find out.

1875  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]BitcoinPlus (XBC) / MANDATORY WALLET UPDATE / BIT-ADOPTION! on: June 26, 2014, 01:55:43 AM

This is good, I prefer the latter method but lets make it for every 200 votes or higher the change difference and the 1st one who can post the snapshot of it here gets some XBC.
SO any XBC whales out there? Smiley

If it's every 200 votes I think you need a rather big prize. The easiest way is per vote. Regardless, it requires someone with a lot of XBC. Or BTC... sure people would take that too.

I could have offered XLC or DCM, but for some reason don't think anyone would really want it.
1876  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]BitcoinPlus (XBC) / MANDATORY WALLET UPDATE / BIT-ADOPTION! on: June 26, 2014, 01:25:43 AM

MP voting promotions should go on

I agree to this, it helps promote the coin to new investors and gives the coin more exposure  with regards to the new coins coming into the market.

Any devs or XBC whales want to run one then? It doesn't usually take much.

Something like .05-.1 XBC per vote, and run it altcoin giveaways and places like that. 100 XBC would then get you 1000-2000 votes on MP. It's cheaper than using btc to vote, anyway. You could even try less XBC and see if it's enough.

Or run it as a contest. Something like every 100 votes someone wins 5-10 XBC. You can make it a random person from that voting group. There are numerous ways to do it.
1877  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]BitcoinPlus (XBC) / MANDATORY WALLET UPDATE / BIT-ADOPTION! on: June 26, 2014, 12:47:32 AM
So long as the dev team doesn't do something really stupid, like extend their vacations for 3 months, or decide to promote DCM to people already burned by it, logically one would think the coin would go up -- based on MP, if nothing else.

I still think some MP voting promotions should go on, just to keep pace with other coins and keep other coins from sneaking up. And that whitepaper on the wallet's upcoming anon features would help a lot to keep the price stable, at the least.
1878  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MIN] Minerals - POS. Fair Distribution Cryptocurrency on: June 25, 2014, 06:34:15 PM
I've been watching the Bittrex exchange. Here's what I'm seeing. A group of whales invested heavily at 3000 sat. We're talking about people who bought Minerals for 3/4 BTC. Now they have enough coins to press the price low - You sell high, they're putting sell orders at lower value. You want to buy at a higher rate than them, they sell you some coins to put your order away. If no one's biting the bait, they're passing the coins to each other (they have 2 accounts per one person) to make it look like there are weak hands who sell. Then, when the pay roll time comes for the Mineral Multipool, they estimate how many coins they got from the weak hands and they're putting enough of them on sell order to cover their Bittrex tax expenses for getting their own coins back and forth and to create fake buy/sells. (they're not selling their real coins, only those of the people who got tricked to sell them their own coins). Then the Mineral MP comes in, and buys the coins from them, giving them profit. Then they are continuing to trick people with fake panic sells at low price, to sell them their coins cheap, i.e. they are generating more and more Mineral income basically for free and they'll hit the jackpot when this coin starts to take off. These whales are at Bittrex. Mineral dev, can you do something about it? I don't know what exactly, but I think that Poloniex is far better when compared to Bittrex. The last is the most favorite place for whales. Will be happy to see what you guys are thinking. Spread the word for the tricky whales @ Bittrex. Thanks.

Even if correct, I don't see how anyone can do anything. Let whales swim and do their thing. If they are involved, it usually means a pump at some point, so I wouldn't worry about it.
1879  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EARTHCOIN CELEBRATES EARTH DAY WITH A CONTEST – EAC 700K IN PRIZES!! on: June 25, 2014, 04:40:42 PM
We have a winner in the name Earthcoin's smallest denomination contest - he's been contacted to receive his EAC 700K.

The satoshi equivalent for EAC will be 'grain.' So 0.00000001 EAC = 1 Grain.

As you may know, a 'grain' was an ancient measurement, based on a grain of wheat, for denoting the smallest part of a troy ounce of gold and other systems for weighing gold.

That's what I suggested I see. Forgot all about this.

I'll assume the contest was for a random winner, not people who suggested grain, correct? I wouldn't mind a bushel of free grain.
1880  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]BitcoinPlus (XBC) / MANDATORY WALLET UPDATE / BIT-ADOPTION! on: June 25, 2014, 04:15:55 AM
If it leads to less spilling over here, yeah, it may be a good idea. I was referring more to XBC's partnership with DCM, which probably won't work out so well without, well, DCM seeming to be viable anymore. And I expect there are a LOT of angry DCM coin holders.

Although to be honest, we don't know what is going on with DCM precisely. Thread locked, devs never responded, price tanked insanely, buy support using ipo money never provided. It looks absolutely terrible.
