There are plenty of veteran members to do business with and ALWAYS use escrow. If you're a newbie and you're doing business with another newbie, there's a 100% chance that you will get scammed (or you're a scammer yourself).

Amazon is next.
If Amazon is next, there will be a BIG BANG within the BTC network! Value will skyrocket imo~ Which leads to an interesting question, if by places accepting bitcoin causes the value to skyrocket, why would be inclined to spend their bitcoins instead of holding onto them to make a nice profit. If companies start accepting bitcoin but no one uses it, what effect would that have on merchants wanting to stick with bitcoin. Not trying to sound negative, just trying to look at all things related bitcoin and try to predict the type of impact it could have. 6$ is still 6$, whether its in USD or BTC. so even if you spend some there is no reason why you cant top up your balance every so often while still enjoying the rising value. Correct but if you have $6 you can use on a debit card or $6 in bitcoin that you think will be worth $12 next week. Very few people outside of some bitcoin enthusiasts would probably want to spend $6 that they expect to go up in value. If you can top up than that means you already have the cash to do so so why not just spend that cash instead of converting it to bitcoin only to do the same thing with it. I think it is a very valid arguement and most people I've talked to about bitcoin tend to say the same things when I say they should use bitcoin , they typically say 1) why buy something with cash so i can buy and item when i can already buy that item direct with the cash 2) why spend something i expect to go up in value . I for one am a huge fan of bitcoin and the potential it has for international transactions, control over your own money without heavy fees, and microtransactions along with some of the benefits of remaining somewhat anonymous. So for me personally I will be buying some bitcoins specifically to use at overstock.com to support them and support the community. Just like I try to do at any place that choses to accept bitcoin recently, so long as they have some items or services I like or want. I agree with everything you said, except I wont be spending my coins on anything any time soon, but I'm glad they're are people like you who are willing to spend their coins. We need transactions and goods to be purchased to keep the momentum going. just to clarify i wont be spending my coins i already have sitting around as well. im actually planning on not touching thouse for a good 5-15 years actually. what i will do though is see something i want on overstock, go buy that amount in bitcoin and then make the purchase right away. in that situation im still basically using fiat to make a purchase while still supporting the overall bitcoin community and overstock. maybe you could consider doing something like that as well ? Ah ok. And wow at 5-15 years, you really are in it for the long run haha. I have no timeframe on when to start selling or buying with my coins, but the market will dictate how quickly this comes about. In a few years' time I'd love to be able to spend them on the highstreet and book holidays with them and spend them around the world etc. |

I'm surprised they haven't already, but I'm sure they will in the future. I have read somewhere that they are considering to implement such a feature but it could be maybe in 2 years ? Nobody knows if they will even do it. Until then it will be really silly to sell it there. Ebay is not bad it is actually people that make it evil. Scamming sellers for getting something for nothing. Prooving ebay and paypal that something was virtually send over internet by you is really unreal. Internet is really massive amount of informations so how do you suppose to proove that you own this bitcoin address and proove that buyer's address is this? Even if you tell people to leave a address in a note to seller field they use different names on ebay and different names on paypal. NO DEFINITELLY DO NOT SELL IT OVER PAYPAL and even if you state that you preffer BANK TRANSFER they just ignore you. I have wrote in description that I do not accept paypal and ebay showed me immediatelly that I must accept payments from paypal and I cannot discourage use of paypal service. I bought my very first Bitcoin and LTCs and FTCs off ebay with paypal and no problems. It's a shame PP can be exploited by scammers so easily as it's a great way to get coins simply and quickly. |

If you're going to create a currency and hope for it to be successful, then people are going to use it for all sorts of things good and bad. If you are a true believer you wouldn't care about the price since you use it as a currency not an investment.
We have to care about the price. If it went back to $1, all the investment would stop, there would be no bitcoin ATM machines, no hardware wallets developed, no incentive for people to develop new services. It would be the end of bitcoin. I don't think it going back down to $1 would be the end at all. A lot of people would've lost money for sure, but it can and still will be used as a currency and people will still be developing things for and around it. I'm sure it'd rise back up as people bought in anyway. Maybe a lower steady number would be better in the long run for the currency. Any kind of steady number would be good, but its a dream at the moment. Yeah, I can't see how it'll ever becoming steady to be honest. With every big merchant or media hit it'll grow in price. Maybe if it becomes truly mainstream it'll taper off, but there's going to be fools panic selling everything there's a slight drop or some bad news for a while. |

Secondly, i just copied my message history with drurrrr and paste it below so you can see for yourself that i am not lying and i really got scammed for .33.
Its up to you if you want to to give some doge, my goal was to let everyone know about that scammer.
Anyone who reads the messages and see how i got scammed and wants to help out with some doge then i would thank him for ever.
By the way, my kid is the one who wanted dogecoin as a gift, so no need to judge why i tried to do that.
Do you have the bitcoin transaction? Maybe somebody could track him down. Don't know why you decided to send him BTC when you had your doubts and others have accused him of scamming already. |

It wont effect the price. SR is still up, just a few mods got busted and they're out on bail now anyway. The tech was not the problem. Social engineering Stupidity took them down.
DPR sitting in public logged into SR as the adminintrator 2 weeks after the feds called at his house to have a chat about him ordering fake ids from SR ?? he must have thought he was untouchable but he could easily have moved out of the usa to somewhere /anywhere else and ran SR from there given his personal BTC are estimated at 600k+ and there is some wallets that are still missing according to investigators It blows me mind how smart and yet so stupid DPR was. |
