17961  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: www.gersics.com is a scam? on: January 02, 2014, 07:22:02 PM
Gersics is based in Germany and I am based in Europe too. They promise to ship through UPS at 18:00 each day and then 1-2 working days for delivery in Europe.
They do not reply to enquiry mails nor answer their phone.

Doesn't sound too good then. Have you searched on here for them? How did you pay?

This nonsense is never going to stop is it? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=396068.0
17963  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Future of Bitcoin in 2014? on: January 02, 2014, 06:56:42 PM
Id like to hear peoples thoughts on Bitcoins future? More accepted or less accepted. Higher value or lower value. Researched based educated forecast.

I cannot see why it'd be any less accepted than it is now. I'm sure many many more merchants will be dealing with Bitcoin and the price will follow suitably along.
17964  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: bitcoin generator - this is real? on: January 02, 2014, 05:55:34 PM

I'm not going to click on it but if it's a faucet giving out tiny amounts; probably. If it's asking you to put Bitcoins in and you get double out or whatever; then it's a scam.

He is in a medically induced coma, right? Since it is a temporary coma, I don't think he will remain unconscious for too long.
Being in a coma is exceptionally boring. Hopefully someone is talking to him.

For some reason I laughed out loud at this.  Grin
17966  Other / Off-topic / Re: What would you spend your days doing if you didn't have to work ever again? on: January 02, 2014, 05:45:17 PM
Sit on my fat ass and watch TV while eating ice cream out of the carton with the back of a sharpie that I "sanatized" with a lighter.

I don't know what the end of that means.

I think there's two options people choose:

1) Travel the world
2) Sit at home infront of the TV and get fat.

Or we can mix both and be like like the type of traveler who takes an all-inclusive some place warm and ends up spending more than 25% of their time either in their room watching TV or somewhere in the resort watching a movie.

It was funny to see the amount of Westerners just watching movies on the beach or in restaurants in Thailand. You're traveling to get away from that! Or at least I am...

Here in the UK plebs go on holiday to typical tourist traps in Spain etc and spend all their time hunting down British themed bars and eating full cooked English breakfasts. Then they come back home and moan about all the foreigners coming over and 'stealing their culture'. Makes me laugh.
17967  Other / Off-topic / Re: DA FUQ AMAZON? on: January 02, 2014, 05:35:01 PM
UK is in the EU, isn't it?  So they sent it from Amazon, shipping facility was in Spain.  They didn't do anything wrong far as I can tell.

Yes, but normally if you order from the UK Amazon it gets sent from UK warehouses. I've never heard of items being shipped from Spain or any where else.
17968  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New bitcoin chocolatier here on: January 02, 2014, 05:31:43 PM
Chocolatier, eh? Bet you get mad pussy. Bitches go nuts for chocolate.
17969  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Error sending PMs ("You are not allowed to send personal messages.") on: January 02, 2014, 05:30:08 PM
Just to throw in something with somewith more meat: money seems so solid but the wisdom of bitcoin is that is has shown that money is nothing more than a collective delusion that can arise from nothing.

Same logic applies to fiat. What is paper money at the end of the day but a worthless bit of paper.
17970  Other / Meta / Re: Alternate crypto is huge on: January 02, 2014, 05:12:24 PM
It's not going to happen. The alt-coin section exists so there's a place to throw discussion about alt-coins, because otherwise it'd be spread out all over the board.
Fail! It happend.

well, they just divided thread by "spam type".
It's still the same mess and actually I expected a much stronger line from bitcointalk

Well I didn't expect this to happen. Seems like more work for the mods though.

What happened?

New sub forums in the alt coin section.

Why are messages limited to only 140 characters?

Because Twitter is lol

I think that model is outdated anyway. Didn't they only limit it to 140 characters because that's what a text message was?
17972  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to avoid BTC booming too fast? on: January 02, 2014, 04:44:04 PM
BTC needs to boom fast, to attract more investors.

Or gradually grow steadily.

Isn't that whining?
I really don't see the problem...

17974  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Infinite Mining - Twitter Account - SCAM? on: January 02, 2014, 04:25:24 PM
Hi everyone

I searched twitter for mining hardware seller and found this : https://twitter.com/infinitemining

Supposedly selling mining hardware to mine scrypt and SHA256 based currencies.125 MH/s for scrypt based currencies, 9000 Gh/s for SHA256 based currencies, and this for 10900 USD first batch sold, delivery in january.

They have no website, telling the people asking about it it will soon be released, no pictures or videos of any mining hardware. They posted some blurry pics, showing a part of something, that could be pretty much anything...

Going on about how bad every other manufacterer / seller is, and begging for donations to a "Global Bitcoin Miners' Association (GBMA). Shortly later asking for donations to their company cause of the devaluation of bitcoin...
The wallet addresses are actually different, that really surprises me right now.

The twitter account is tweeting since the 12th of december 2013.

Is this so obviously a scam that no one even cares about it, or did I just miss the topic?

I really can't imagine this to be a serious company... I wonder how much donations they got.

Lol a company with just a twitter address. People do just send money to these addresses though. Seen a few simple Twitter scams.

Increased brain activity means little if they're still going to be in vegetative state. I couldn’t imagine anything worse than being conscious or semi-conscious yet trapped in my own body.

He is in a medically induced coma, right? Since it is a temporary coma, I don't think he will remain unconscious for too long.

Depends on the circumstances. He could still be brought out of the coma and then nothing, but hopefully that wont happen.
17976  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coinye West - Don't f**k with this coin on: January 02, 2014, 04:11:11 PM

Has kanye west approved this? does kanye even know cryptocurrency even exist? Why would someone name a coin after a celebrity just to gain publicity?

No, he hasn't approved it. Read the vice article.

17978  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: UK based - where would you sell your BTC? on: January 02, 2014, 04:04:12 PM
I was just wondering what was the best (i.e. cheapest and most efficient) way to trade out of my BTC for cash.
I am GBP based but have a USD account... Could open a EUR account for free as well so I'm not all too fussed about FX... would still be interested to know how much any given exchange charges for a USD/GBP or USD/EUR transaction (I struggle to find this info on their websites...).

Sell them on here or on local bitcoins.
