It just amuses me, how quickly some people build a personal attachment to a coin, even when common sense dictate that it is not going anywhere. I do believe there was another CPU only coin, released shortly after YAC. The name eludes me, because I ignored it as a YAC copy, and it quietly disappeared. As I said, this is a carbon copy of WDC with very minor tweaks, and will ultimately be dismissed as such. The lack of pool support, should be an early indication of such. P2pools, don't count. If your hash rate is low, you don't get paid.

Actually, I didn't start mining WDC at the beginning, I started mining it a couple days ago, because I saw it was going somewhere. The only difference between this and WDC, is block size, and this supposed fair start. People will mine this for a couple days, realize its not going anywhere, and move on. I'm making decent profit on WDC and its apparent to me that digicoin will not match or surpass it, so why bother?

This coin brings innovation to the table. And sure, digicoin does the same thing, and if it had released first, I have no doubt it would be doing well, but WDC released first, and in the digital rat race, that is very important. Mxnow, maybe was not a real exchange, but what do you suppose happened to their member base, being the first exchange to offer trading of WDC? WDC reached 1/5 of LTC's hashrate. That is quite a fair number of people.

I'm sorry but this doesn't seem remotely like a fair launch to me. I was on different coins sometimes a whole day later than this one and had more coins in an hour than I do right now. I now have been throwing 1400 kH/s at this for 2 hours and a 1000 kH/s for an hour before that and have 58 coins to show for it, 5 of those being donated from some nice miner. Part of the fun of a new coin is finding blocks solo, I remember when I found 2 litecoin blocks in 2 days when everyone said it was not worth soloing a few months after it had launched and that was with a single 4890, lol. I know all my settings are correct as I mine all kinds of different coins and have different cgminer folders for each miner. Infact this is my settings except I turn the intensity up if I am not at the computer, my other 2 PCs are running at 18.
So you're saying a fair launch means get you a ton of coins?  Fair launch means that tons of people get a small amount of coins. Which seems to be the case with this coin. Dude, did you skip the wallet pic with over 5K in it? 5K is not a lot. You missed the dude at the WDC launch screenshot showing over 19K within the first hour. He had 20 GPUs running. There was no successful 51% attack or whatever that person is making up. People should not use terms they don't understand. There were plenty of people getting plenty of blocks the whole way through.
All coins have similar starts, this one will be the least affected by the early miners, since block rewards are proportionally small for the first ones. It was done to give people the opportunity to have pools up before normal rewards come into play.
Except noone cares enough to create a pool, so your coin is still just getting raped by big miners, with low latency connections. So, the one thing setting you apart from WDC, failed. |

There are 52 people connected to Coinotron. Let's say that Coinotron is the pool that finds the block, I will talk to Coinoton, track you down and give you Bitcoins  The large miners are chasing the most profitable coins as they have bills to pay. By connecting to pools we become large miners ourselves. If a solo miner find the block they can sign a message in the block chain using the client to identify themselves. That's cool and all, but what I mean is, in Pools, %99 of the time, it's the big guys in the pool, that actually find the block |

Congratulations to the community for the successful launch and probably one of the first instances of fair early mining.
Only complaint I have is that it was launched early. You mentioned GMT -4 but you launched it GMT -5. Agreed. Should have been launched when everyone was told it would, no earlier. I can't stay awake all night so I had an alarm set for 7. By the time I even had the client downloaded someone was almost to 6000 coins. Looks like a bulk of the early coins still landed in only a few pockets. back to WDC I go at least until a stable pool is up. I solo mined for over an hour, starting when shares were 1.02k, and only made 66 DGC with 910kh/s. I had 15 total transactions, 9 of which were orphans Same here. Got only 22 with 750kh/s. 1h late because of early release and messed up github. How is that fair early mining? This is the worst launch for me. This is a carbon copy, of WDC. It will never go anywhere, because people have already adopted WDC. People already adopted WDC, really? Funny your definition of adopted Care to elaborate, or you just going to talk out of your ass? Oh, btw, network hash for WDC, is 1.3GH. I'd love to compare it to the hash for Digicoin, but noone has bothered creating a pool for it yet And I believe on the exchange your WDC are worth about the same as a Feathercoin, congrats. Um, no?
