Considering Eth's market cap and profitability (eg. total daily mined coins in BTC) I'm preeeeetty sure someone figured out how to solve the TLB trashing issue and have a crazy high efficiency we could only ever dream of.
In fact I'd go ahead and guess that there might even be private ASICs simply because they would reach ROI way before PoS (which will very likely be late anyway).
People with deep pockets will jump the gun and spend crazy amounts of money when it comes to such high marketcap coins. And they can also manipulate the market to their will.
I mean Eth is the second biggest coin ever and look at how much money was sank into developing ASICs for BTC.

The new wallet seems great but it's not compatible with the nvidia miner so I can't use it.

If I learned anything here is that if something sounds too good to be true... it's a fucking scam.

^Disable auto updates and disable incoming connections outside of your LAN (Options, Incoming LAN connections - Allow exclusively).
With those two TW never uses the internet.

User hananl1styo created two moderated coin ANN threads with links to weird wallets which are more than likely contain malwares. He's also deleting comments. Note, the first and unmoderated Putincoin has a different, likely safe wallet.

Previously there was a calendar for release new coins. There is now something like this?
Have you tried Icocountdown.com ? Thanks. Although there is only IСO coins. Best way to invest in new altcoins is to invest in promising altcoins in the ICO period but not all of this coins can give your profit. However if you have closer look at lisk ico and current price you can see it is traded for 5x ico price. Another source could be altcoin announcement section of this forum, mine those coins on early stage when net hashrate is really low and dump all of them when it hit exchanger. You're confusing the word gambling with investing. With ICOs you're just rolling the dice over and over.

Is there a working block explorer out there?

Of course it's bullshit but I'm not sure what their angle is. Tried it in a sandbox and it barely uses any CPU.
It puts itself into your documents folder and tries to setup a scheduled task in the registry so that it could start on boot.
My suspicion is that it's either a keylogger, or that its malicious payload will activate later.
Or it might end up encrypting your files over time (ransomware).

I just short the legs to start them but I also have "Restore on AC power loss - Power On" setup in the Bios so whenever the computer is plugged in, it will start automatically.
Basically if I switch the PSU on, the PC will start.

New account, first comment asking for ICO. For fuck's sake.

Or maybe you got hacked like me and many others. It appears when u mine on a server and your wallet is unlocked and ports are forwardedit is easy for someone to steal your coins. I got 90 SIA stolen from my wallet which is nothing I transferred them from polo and just left them there and 2 hours ago "I" initiated a -90 transaction, sadly the explorer isn't working so I cant show you. ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) I don't have any outgoing transactions so I doubt that is the case. One mined block just disappeared without trace.

Reverted to 0.5.2 but I still can't find blocks.
Is there a limit on how many miners can connect to a single wallet (similarily to maxconnections=x in traditional wallet configs)? I mean I'm mining to one wallet over LAN with a few dozen of cards (1 miner instance per card) and while each miner seem to work fine I'm not sure anymore. The logs are also not helpful. Is there a way to increase the verbosity level of the log?
I have found one yesterday with 0.6. What is your hashrate ? With around 3.5 gh/s, I have found 3 block in June, which is almost in line with the expected average. You have to take into account that variance increase with the difficulty/yourHashrate ratio : I have find 2 block the 03/06 and 1 the 23/06 and none in between. If you miner produce hash, it means it is well configured. One problem I had was with too much downvolting (or overclock with same voltage) : my miner find block which were not accepted by the wallet : I suppose there were calculus error due to too much downvolting. One other problem may be the miner software : but if it had produce one valid block once it should be Ok. I found two blocks yesterday and later when I restarted the wallet it only showed one. Guess it takes a lot of time before oprhans are removed from the wallet or it requires a restart.

An alternative approach to ICO would be getting some fees or block rewards to the development address. However, I have yet to come up with an efficient way of doing this, without spamming the network, the dev address might be a "special one" with different client rules than every other.
Should be easy, instead of a fraction of every blockreward going to the dev address, make it so that only every nth block does that. For example, every 1000th block would send funds to the dev address. Anyway, it's an interesting project. I hope this will be GPU mineable.

undervolting is still possible without a mod, with amd, just use msi, dunno why nvidia do not have this, i guess there is another good software that let you undervolt with nvidia
maybe nvidia inspector
PrecisionX - if it works on non-EVGA cards. Doesn't allow undervolting on ALL EVGA cards though - seems like the BIOS sets limits on which can and which can't. I tried to use PrecisionX. But it does not allow non EVGA cards. So I do not use it, I only use the MSI afterburner or Trixx. I doubt that's true though I don't use the new versions so I wouldn't know (I stopped upgrading Precision X when it started to only support up to 4 cards). I use Precision X v4.2.1.2143 for years without issues and I don't have a single EVGA card.
