1881  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The End of the Bitcoin Mixing Service, Should We Worry about Our Privacy? on: March 27, 2023, 02:15:29 AM
When Bestmixer was seized, around the same time Bitblender which was one of the biggest mixers also stopped Business, but this did not stop other mixers from taking over and thriving
How many mixers were seized in history? Only two (BestMixer and ChipMixer) or more than two in history?

Quote
Closure of Chipmixer is not the end of Bitcoin Mixing service. More will always pop up. In fact, as we speak, there are a handful of trustworthy alternatives. For example, cryptomixer is no small mixer and has been in operation since 2016.
I think so but governments will not stop their hunt for 'illegal' mixers. They will even enforce more law regulations against mixers. I don't think mixers will be eliminated completely but they will be challenged more by governments.

Maybe governments will enforce some requirements on mixers and allow their operations but how is what I don't know. They can not ask license on business which they consider as illegal.

They will keep shutting down and I think even those wallets like wasabi or the coinjoin might also be attacked one day. They already figured these services can't be stopped so I wouldn't be surprised if the government itself will launch thier own mixing service secretly to get the database of users who are using these services. They probably have one already.

1882  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Nghitumbwa (May 3) on: March 26, 2023, 04:57:05 PM

Crazy match for a Global super bantamweight title. Nghitumbwa only have 13 fights compare to Casimero who has 36 fights and its already a defending champ for quite some time.

I watched several fights of the two just on youtube, this is really a mismatch fight. Nghitumbwa has the habit to drop his hands, he really will end up lying on the ground. While both are aggressive fighter, Casimero is more experienced and can just absorb whatever Nghitumbwa throws.
1883  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stories about lost Bitcoin on: March 26, 2023, 04:41:59 PM
Maybe not everyone lost some coins but like you I also have some coins that I left in wallet that I have no idea how to take back because of a wallet that I have no key and forgot its password anymore.

Losing coins because people convince you that seed is same as the wallet address seem a very newbie mistake. its a small amount during that time though so i guess you can just shrug it.

Never give your seed phrase or private key to anyone that you do not know, it is your coin. I hope that will never happen again.

I have not be scammed before in anything related to bitcoin and crypto generally, I was lucky to know all those scam and I avoided it. The one I can remember are two, which are airdrop scam and cloud mining scam. It was super easy for me to avoid both.

Well I understand the cloud mining scam, but what about the airdrop? how could they scam you buy airdroping something to an address ?

Some of those airdrop ask you to deposit to unlock them and to able to send those tokens. Not sure if anyone were already convinced to deposit but I remember there were airdrops like this.
1884  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which kind of situation will force you to sell? on: March 26, 2023, 04:19:33 PM

I have seen people in the discord where they are pretty much solid not selling even their altcoins. They drop 70% already but some of them are proud to say they have diamond hands.

If BTC price goes $1M I think many will be forced to sell, yet also happy to do so. The institutions should just pump BTC so that we will all be forced to dump our BTC. For me, I might just sell also if BTC is going to be banned.
1885  Other / Off-topic / Re: There are A lot of Scammers on Internet than any other platform on: March 26, 2023, 04:03:18 PM

You can also try to stop someone from adding your to a telegram group.
You can't stop them from sending DMs using some other accounts. I don't even touch my telegram account anymore but I can see there are tons of DMs.

Even when you ask something on the official chat group of a project, you'll get a DM from someone trying to act like the admin with a username same with the admin itself.
1886  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Chasing looses Vs Finding closure: Any difference? on: March 26, 2023, 03:56:33 PM
If it matters to you that you win before you stop for the day then might really spend more in order to win back the loss. But that is if the luck changes.

To me it doesn't matter whatever is the difference between the two. If it meant losing, I would just find closure to drink a bottle of beer and call it a day. There is more day ahead and more important things to do than chasing a loss.
1887  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Circulating supply matters to you? on: March 25, 2023, 09:55:09 PM
I will still invest despite the huge max supply. It just needs some good evidence that the team is serious and have already achieved some of its milestone from the roadmap.

Whether we like it or not, even if it's not what you are after, the people and investors are looking forward to making a profit and seeing the price of the token be more than what it was since yesterday.
1888  Economy / Economics / Re: Is capitalism killing morality in the name of the law? on: March 25, 2023, 09:41:36 PM
Usury is an immoral profession in almost every society. But today this immoral profession has a modern counterpart. Its name is banking. And banking is regulated by law.

Making money by prostitution is an immoral profession in almost every society. But today this immoral profession has a modern counterpart. Its name is porn industry. And the porn industry is regulated by law.

Do you think moral concepts are being killed by capitalist imposing laws who want to make more money?

If the interest becomes unbearable for the debtor to pay, it becomes unacceptable anymore thus capitalism is just not the right term for it anymore.
We know it's not morally good to see a person toil their way to make money but only to give it to thier lenders.

The moral concept is to be balanced by the government.  Prostitution is still taboo but is pretty much spread as well. This is as much as Bitcoin, they couldn't stop it and it evolves online.
1889  Economy / Economics / Re: Always Have a financial record in whatever business you own on: March 25, 2023, 07:46:27 PM

As much as I want to also see where my spending goes in a household, one can only assume it goes to food and utility bills. These are all important to living in a house. In order for me to make this record, it will add another time loss for resting.

For a businessman who owns works as a barber and manages a barbershop, he will need one more skill such as simple spreadsheet bookkeeping. A tiresome job but as important as learning to see things before the business fails.
1890  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Signature Bank didn't collapse. It got killed. [SEC Vs Crypto] on: March 25, 2023, 07:12:02 PM

He also said that there were government surveys to banks asking them if their bank exposes their clients access to crypto. Signature Bank and SVB must have been the top crypto-friendly banks.

Several channels are talking about chokepoint 2.0 and if you closely analyze also what SEC is doing, it will make sense as well.  It's known to us that the government doesn't like other currencies they couldn't control and while they can try crushing the existence of crypto in the meantime, they will do it.

1891  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the biggest problem you think AI can fix in gambling on: March 25, 2023, 07:00:56 PM

Answer phone calls, if possible.  AI checking KYC also why not?

Automating stuff in the casinos is what AI can fix. They already have bots to use for chatting and auto respond emails but it's self-evident for its replies, unlike the ChatGPT. If the casino can deploy an AI, it will still be helpful maybe a fraud investigation that will take days for the result can only be done in minutes.

1892  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you think about this? on: March 24, 2023, 06:46:37 PM
When some people ask questions about gambling, such as "Can someone can make a living through gambling? I don't like to engage in such conversations because those who doubt that gambling can change someone's life are usually those who have gambled and failed multiple times or those who don't really know gambling strategies.

Recently, a Uganda pastor who won 100million shillings decided to shut down his ministry. This left me with several questions in my head, such as ' Do religious leaders gamble? Is it right for religious leaders to gamble? Knowing fully well that most of them preach against gambling in their religious places. What is the ethical and moral implications of gambling, particularly in the context of religious practices and beliefs?

If the said pastor did quit after winning huge amount then its up to him on what are his decisions to be made in life because we know that we could really deal up with things as long we do have the money.
It is really just that it turns out that its pretty obvious that he doesnt really want an issue once he would make himself get engage with gambling while he still preaches out God's word.

You are right on which gambling could be always seen as a negative thing on which we know that it would really be just a normal act that they would quit up just for them to make themselves
not really that too guilty if ever they would really be committing out something.

But if he didn't win I think he wouldn't actually quit and would still continue to preach the word and gamble in hiding. He lives a double life. Now that he is a millionaire, he wants to give up the other lives he lived.

I couldn't really tell whether what he is doing is ethical or not. Believe it or not, he acts accordingly in order to live in a way he knows. Working as a pastor I guess is much better than being part of a looting gang. If he didn't work as a pastor, he might not win millions as well.

1893  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The future is looking good for P2e games on: March 24, 2023, 06:10:13 PM

If only there are exciting games that can work on cheap smartphones, I would probably be playing often off those games. It's risky to install those games on the phone because it may also compromise the other crypto wallets.

Gaming companies will need to adapt to the new trends otherwise they will be left behind. Sony has to also evolve, and probably create thier blockchain games as well. If DOTA will be on the blockchain, I guess they will need tokens too.
1894  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Ugandan Pastor Closed Down Church for Winning Sports Bet. on: March 24, 2023, 05:54:48 PM

Nothing to say but congrats Pastor, you did it!  Not everyone has this luck, he must be richer than the mayor of his town by now. 100M shillings is more than $700,000.

First, He will easily go broke for disclosing his jackpot win to his congregation. Nothing stops him from concealing his wins, and at same time shut down the church. Yet, I'd applaud him for opening up that he wasn't a chosen prophet and as well a deceit to people who trusted him. Second, if he doesn't have any other means of making money to train his family, that means all the money he earned will go back to the gambling house. As he'd be staking to earn more jackpots. However, congratulations to him for his big win.  Grin

He wasn't really a real REAL pastor, to begin with, which is maybe a good start for him to stop living the lie. I couldn't help but smile a bit for him.
1895  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Legal side to promoting bitcoin. on: March 24, 2023, 05:44:40 PM
Yep, It really is a mess up to see them chase every user on forums promoting altcoins. What sort of popularity would they consider a celebrity status?

If they are then probably the hiring of the 85000 IRS agents is meant to find those celebrity users. But like mindrust said, it's just too much work, I doubt this is happening. And what about the users that are outside USA?

1896  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you think about this? on: March 24, 2023, 05:24:07 PM
The pastor shut down his ministry, you could say he doesn't want anyone questioning his gambling adventure that resulted in him winning more than half a million USD so it's best to just shutdown.  He also confessed he wasn't really called to preach lord's work. He just did it for money.  Embarrassed

We're all guilty of something, I would still forgive the guy even for wagering the money that is from the congregation. Hope he donates some to the church he once with.
1897  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Experience of failure and success can help us control the emotions. on: March 24, 2023, 02:45:52 AM

When you fail to manage your emotions, you fail completely in trading. Emotions have a significant impact on trading and can influence your decision-making process, which in turn influences your trading. Being able to control your emotions is also related to how well prepared you were before entering the market, as well as your ability to maintain a positive attitude or mindset regarding the outcome of a trade. You don't fail once or twice and then give up; you have to keep trying until you get it right. If your emotions get in the way, you won't get anywhere.

Once you have experienced so many losses in trading you'll one day get used to the market that can surge or drop quickly. Sometimes you already have the feeling that you will just let the opportunity pass and wait for the next month's bottom.

You wouldn't even have to manage your emotions but just tend to your otherworldly business and let go of it and try next time when the opportunity passed.
1898  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are Casino Sites Cheating Us? on: March 23, 2023, 05:48:56 PM

I have the same feeling whenever I lose money out o the dice games. It felt like they are just watching us play their games.  The minimum bet for some dice is $0.10, I'm quite earning by just betting the minimum so I thought maybe if I start my martingale with $1, I'd win more. And then suddenly in a few losing streaks, the money is gone. Not sure what to come up with it so avoiding the dice is what I'm doing.  Cheesy
1899  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Josh Taylor vs Teofimo Lopez on: March 23, 2023, 05:36:59 PM
I've watched some of Lopez' previous matches and I could say that he had a hard time beating some of his opponents. I think that's something that he should work on since they almost have the same record as Taylor. Though it is obvious that Lopez has huge potential though he's still in the process of establishing a good record. I hope he'll grab this chance to prove that his previous winning matches were not just won by luck.

Lopez has a record of 18 wins and 1 loss. A boxer can't just smash the 18 pro boxers by luck. He even beat Loma, that's quite a plus for Lopez, you can't be a nobody with a such win.

Taylor's last fight with Cattral was also controversial, people look at it as robbery. It would have been best to put an end to the doubts. Catteral would be a good fight and not the WBO's will for him to fight Lopez.
1900  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: who Want To Bet On 2024 USA elections? on: March 23, 2023, 04:50:12 PM

I doubt people will still reelect Biden after all the things he did in this first term. He'd be 90+ afaik, as he will just be sitting in the wheelchair by then. We have seen him fell many times as he climbs up the plane stairs. Trump will win. There is no other candidate who can make the US work together than Trump. Even Elon tweeted Trump will win this time around.
